Abstract

This research is motivated by the low understanding of mathematical concepts grade 8 students in SMPN 1 Bayang. This study aims to determine the development of student’s understanding of mathematical concept by applying instructional method of course review horey accompanied quiz. And to determine whether the student’s understanding of mathematical concept trough course review horey accompanied quiz better than the student’s understanding of mathematical concepts with conventional learning to grade 8 students of SMPN 1 Bayang.This type of research is experimental. The population is all students grade 8 at SMPN 1 Bayang in 2013/2014. Technique of taking sampling is taken randomly which is elected VIII.4 as experimental class and class VIII.2 as control class. The instruments used were the quizzes and final test indicators of understanding the concept. Form used was an essay test with a reliability of 0,75. Based on the analysis of data on student’s understanding of mathematical concepts in the experimental class gained an average of the quizzes : 1st quis is 79, 2nd is 81,80, 3rd is 79,48 and 4th is 75,77. Hypothesis testing uses t-test of the parties, obtained 0,007 P-value less than α=0,05 significance level, the hypothesis is accept. It can be concluded that the student’s understanding of the concept by applying the method mathematical learning of course review horey which is accompanied with quiz better than the student’s understanding of mathematical concepts by applying the conventional learning at grade 8 SMPN 1 Bayang.

Abstract

The research is based on by less unusually students discuss and construct knowledge received during the learning process, and students low of comprehension of mathematical concept. The research aims to determine students comprehension of mathematical concept by applying strategy aktif learning start a question better than the students comprehension of mathematical concepts with conventional teaching in class VIII SMP 27 Padang. This type of research is experimental research on the subject with a random design. The population is class VIII SMP 27 Padang. academic year 2012/2013. Class selected sample is VIII.2 class as the experimental class and the control class VIII.4 class. The research instrument was the final test in the form of essay test reliability is 0.6947. Hypothesis testing using one side of t-test. Based on the analysis of data obtained thitung=1,93 is less than ttable=1,67, so it can be concluded that the students comprehension of mathematical concept that apply strategy aktif learning start a question is better than students comprehension of mathematical concept that apply conventional learning model in class VIII SMP 27 Padang.

Abstract

The research motivated by the students’ less understanding about the  concept of mathematic. It seen from the results of mathematic test in the second semester of grade sevent that listed in grade VIII Putri (Pi) SMP Nurul Ikhlas in academic year 2013/2014 . One of the way to increase students’ understanding about the concept is applying Instant Assessment type of Active Learning strategy. The research purpose is to know whether students’ understanding in applying Instant Assessment type of Active Learning strategy is better than conventional learning for  grade VIII Putri (Pi) SMP Nurul Ikhlas Tanah Datar .Kind of research is experimental research and the research design is randomized to the subject . The populations are the students of eighth grade  of SMP Nurul Ikhlas that consist of 4 classes . where class VIII Pi 1 as experimental and class VIII Pi 2 as a control class . The instrumentation in the research is students’observation activity sheet and tests students understanding of mathematic’s concept . the test is in essay from with a reliability value 0,77.Based on the result of data analysis, bpth of sample class are normal and homogen in α = 0.05 and the results of hypothesis tests by using MINITAB software is P - value = 0.018 < α . It can be concluded students understanding of concepts with applying Instant Assessment type of Active Learning strategy is better than the students understanding of concepts with conventional learning .

Abstract

The Comprehension of math concept are still low at  student’s in class VIII SMPN 1 IV Jurai. This research aims to determine the student’s comprehension of math concept that apply Learning Technique Quick On The Draw better than student’s comprehension of math concept that apply conventional learning in class VIII SMPN 1 IV Jurai. The type of research is experimental by using Randomized Control Group Only Design.  The data analysis technique used help of software MINITAB. The result of hypothesis test obtained P-Value = 0,001 is less than α = 0,05, then the hypothesis in this research received. In conclusion, student’s comprehension of math concept that apply Learning Technique Quick On The Draw better than student’s comprehension of math concept that apply conventional learning in class VIII SMPN 1 IV Jurai.

Abstract

The research is conducted due to great number of students who do not understand yet the concept of mathematics well, it is proven that there are still a lot of students who get low mark. This research is aimed at analyzing the learning activity of the students of class XI IPA SMAN 9 Padang and finding out whether the comprehension of the mathematical concept of the students by applying the strategy Active Knowledge Sharing is better than the comprehension of the mathematical concept of the students by conventional learning. This is an experimental research.The population of the research is the students of class XI IPA SMAN 9 Padang, academic year 2013/2014. The sample is taken at random. The instruments in this research are the observation sheet and the comprehension test of mathematical concept.The result of research shows that the positive activity of the students in learning mathematics using the strategy Active Knowledge Sharing increases, while the negative activity reduces in every meeting. Hypothetical examination uses minitab by examining t, gained P-value = 0,001   = 0,05, therefore it can concluded that the comprehension of the student’s mathematical concept using strategy Active Knowledge Sharing is better than comprehension of the student’s mathematical concept by conventional learning.

Abstract

The backgrounds of this research are that there are still many students acquiring low points and the mathematical concept apprehensions for the VIII-grade students of SMPN 12 Sijunjung of Lubuk Tarok District are low. The purpose of this research is to know whether the students’ mathematical concept apprehension by using two stays two guests technique is better than that using the conventional learning for the VIII-grade students of SMPN 12 Sijunjung of Lubuk Tarok District. This is an experimental research with Random to Subject design. The sampling technique is randomly. The instrument used in this research is final tests in the form of essay.        The technique of data analysis is t test of one party with the assistance of software MINITAB. Based on the hypothesis testing, it is obtained that P value is similar to 0.000, meaning to be smaller than α = 0.05; so that the hypothesis is accepted. Then it can be concluded that the students’ mathematical concept apprehension by applying two stays two guests technique with handouts is better than that using the conventional learning for the VIII-grade students of SMPN 12 Sijunjung of Lubuk Tarok District of the year 2013/2014.

Abstract

This research had background the lack of problem about students are less serious in that exercisegiven teacher and students’ comprehension’s mathematical concept. This research had a purpose to know that students’ comprehension mathematical concept in which the learning model applied was Cooperative Write-Pair-Share  type, better than students’ comprehension in was conventional learning at grade VIII of SMPN 6 Linggo Sari Baganti. Type of this research was experimental by research with random research design on the subject. Data analysis was done by using t-test with MINITAB’s software. Result of hypothesis testing, the researcher got p-value= 0,015 < , thus the hypothesis of this research was accepted. There can be concluded that students’ comprehension mathematical concept in which the teaching model applied was cooperaive learning write-Pair-Share type, was better than students’ comprehension of mathematical concept in which the applied was by conventional learning at grade VIII of SMPN 6 Linggo Sari Baganti.

Abstract

The background of the research is comprehension about math concept for the students grade VIII at SMPN 4 Tarusan Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. The purpose of the research to know which the comprehension math concept by used technique Two Stay Two Stray be better than the comprehance math concept by used konvensional learning for students at VIII SMPN 4 Tarusan Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. Type of study was experimental research by random designed on the subject. The instrument of this research is essay, with reabilition is 0,90. The result of hypothesis test obtained P-Value = 0,000 is less than α = 0,05. Based on data description and hypothesis tests can be concluded that conceptual mathematic students comprehension by applying cooperative teaching model in using Two Stay Two Stray’s technique is better than conceptual mathematic students in conventional learning.

Abstract

The background of this research is students mathematical concept comprehension is low. The type of this research is experimental research by design randomized trial on the subject. Population in this study were all of the students in the class VIII SMPN 6 X Koto Singkarak Kabupaten Solok. The technique in taking the sample is randomly, as an experimental class VIII3 and a control class VIII2. The istrument that researcher used in this study is the analysis of learning quiz and essay from for final test. The data obtained in the analysis by using a normality test, homogenity test and t-test. The analysis of the data found that the mean score of quiz for the first meeting is 82.05, second meeting is 84.11, third meeting is 80,84 and forth meeting 89.21. The mean score of the final test was found that 72.02 in experimental   class. It  was  better  than  the mean  score  of  control  class  60.61.t-test in this research by using one way with software MINITAB get P-value equal to 0,017, it means that less than α = 0,05, this the hypothetical in this study received. In conclusion by applying cooperative learning techniques of  Two Stay Two stray is accompanied quiz better than the students concept comprehension by using conventional learning students of class VIII SMPN 6 X Koto Singkarak with a 95% confidence level

Abstract

The background of this research is due to the lack of mathematical concept understanding of VIII grade students in SMPN 1 BatangAnai.This problem is assumed to be caused by students which are less focused on teacher’s explanation and students’ noting which are still less attractive and effective. The purpose of this research is to know whether students’ understanding of mathematical concepts with the application of Mind Map learning methods and students’ worksheets is better than students’ understanding of mathematical concepts with convensional teaching for VIII grade students in SMPN 1 BatangAnai. The type of this research is experimental research with Randomized Control Group Only Design. Random technique is used to take the samples. The instrument used in this research is final test in the form of essay which contains the indicators of concept understanding. The test reability is 0,78. The data is analyzed by using one party t-test and with the help of Minitab. Based on the data analysis, it is obtained that the p-value = 0,000 smaller than  = 0,05. In conclusion, the students’ understanding of mathematical concepts which applies Mind Map learning method and students’ worksheets is better than the conventional one.
