Abstract

This research is motivated because of low grade of the student’s inability of solving a different problem with example and to undersatand the mathematical concepts of 8th grade students of MTsTI Batang Kabung Padang. The research purpose to determine whether student’s understanding of mathematical concepts through the application of active learning strategies by using Index Card Match type is better than the student’s understanding od mathematical concepts by using conventional learning in class VIII MTsTI Batang Kabung Padang Acedemic Year 2013/ 2014. This type of research is experimental research of experimental studies Against Random Subjects. Analysis technique use the one party t test by using MINITAB. Based on the analysis of data obtained P-value is  smaller than , so it can be concluded that student’s understanding of mathematical concept using active learning strategies Index Card Match type is better than the students understanding of mathematical conceps by using conventional learning in class VIII MTsTI Batang Kabung Padang.

Abstract

The introduction of this research is caused by the lack student’s understanding of mathematical concept. This research aim to: 1) to see growth student’s understanding in mathematical concept eightth the grade of SMPN 1 Koto Balingka used true or false strategy with quiz. 2) To know the student’s understanding of mathematical concept used true or false strategy with quiz is better than use conventional strategy. The design this is experimental research. Population in this research is eightth grade student’s SMPN 1 Koto Balingka academic year 2012/2013. The technique sampling of this is research random, instrument in this research is: 1) quiz as functioning to measure student’s understanding in mathematical concept. 2) final test which in form of essay. Technique analysis  data use test of with one side. The result of this research is obtained by ttest=7,30 and ttable= 1,63 because ttest>ttable so hypothesis is accepted, so it can be concluded that student’s understanding of mathematical concept by applying true or false or false strategy with quiz is better than by using conventional strategy at eightth grade of SMPN 1 Koto Balingka.

Abstract

This research was conducted based on the fact that the students’ understanding on mathematics concepts was still low and they were less active in the learning process. The aim of this research was to reveal the effect of using Make A Match cooperative learning model on the students’ activities, and to see whether the use of this model could improve the students’ understanding on mathematics concepts better than that of the conventional one in class VIII of SMPN 2 Panyabunagn Kota. This experimental research applied random design toward the subject. The population of the research was the students in class VIII of SMPN 2 Panyabungan Kota. The instruments used were observation sheet and a test which had been tested. The data then was analyzed by using one way t-test. The result of data analysis indicated that there was an improvement on the students’ activity in respective meeting. In addition, the result of hypothesis test showed that tcalculated > ttable, therefore, the hypothesis was accepted. In conclusion, the use of Make A Match cooperative learning model could improve the students’ understanding on mathematics concepts better than that of the conventional one in class VIII of SMPN 2 Panyabungan Kota.

Abstract

The research was background by the student comprehension of math concept are still low at SMPN 1 Lengayang. This research is to knowing the student comprehension of math concept that apply active learning type synergetic teaching better than student comprehension of math concept that apply conventional learning in class VIII SMPN 1 Lengayang. The type of research is exsperimen by using Randomized for Subject.     The data analysis technique used is t-test one part. The result of hypothesis test with     = 3,04 >  = 1,64, then the hyphothesis in this research is received. In conclusion, student comprehension of math concept that apply active learning type synergetic teaching better than student comprehension of math concept that apply conventional learning.

Abstract

This research based on the mathematic conceptual understanding of students is low and the students do not want to give and share their knowledge eatch other, it’s mean they are individualis in teaching learning proses. This the goal of research is to know now student’s mathematics concept by using cooperative learning model type of changing partner is better than understanding of mathematic concept by using kobventional learning in class XI IPA SMAN 9 Padang in academic year 2013/2014. Kind of this research is experimental research, by random sampling. The population of the research is the second year students of SMAN 9 Padang in academic year 2013/2014 that included in 6 classes. The samples is XI IPA 1 as eksperiment class and class XI IPA 2 as control class. The instrument is an essay test with reliabilitas test is r11 = 0,61. Teachnigue of data analisys is Mann-Whitney teste. The hypotesist tested by used Mann-Whitney test. For validity grade 95% is and, because and in area is rejected, so is rejected and  is accepted. It’s mean the student’s understanding of mathematic concept by using cooperative learning model type of changing partner is better than the understanding of student’s mathematic concept by using conventional learning in class XI IPA SMAN 9 Padang in academic year 2013/2014.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of understanding of math concepts class X student of SMAN 3 Lengayang. One attempt to do is to apply the Hollywood Squares Strategy Review. This study aims to determine the students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying active learning strategies Hollywood Squares Review type is better than the students understanding of mathematical concepts with conventional learning in class X SMAN 3 Lengayang. This type of research is experimental research study design Against Random Subjects. Instrument in this study is the final test with indicator of understanding the concept. The data analysis technique used is the one party t test with the help of Minitab software. Hypothesis test results obtained P-value = 0.004 is less than α = 0.05, then the hypothesis in this study received. It can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying Active Learning Strategies Hollywood Squares Review type is better than the students understanding of mathematical concepts with conventional learning in class X SMAN 3 Lengayang.

Abstract

This research was conducted based of the fact that comprehension of mathematical concept for students was not satisfied yet. It could be seen from their low learning achievement in Math. This research was aimed at revealing the development of students’ mathematics concept and whether the use of Guided Note Taking active learning strategy accompanied with Quiz could improve the second year comprehension of mathematical concept for students’ better than that of conventional learning in class XI Sosial Science classes of  SMAN 1 Lembah Gumanti. This was an  experimental research. The population of the research was the students in class XI of Sosial Science Classes of SMAN 1 Lembah Gumanti registered in Academic Year 2013/2014. From the populaion, class XI IPS.1 was chosen as the experimental class and class XI IPS.3 as the control class. The instruments of the research was a quiz and a post-test in the from of essay whose realibility was r11=0,948. The data gotten then was analyzed by using normality test, homogeneity test and t-test. The result of hypothesis test showed that p-vaue was 0.010 (α=0.05) indicating that H0 was rejected. In conclusion, the comprehension of mathematical concept for active learning strategy’s students type Guided Note Takin with Quiz were better than implemented conventional learning’s students for grade XI of Sosial Science Classes of SMAN 1 Lembah Gumanti.

Abstract

The research was due to the lack of students’ activities and students were bit afraid of asking questions to the teacher, instead, the preferred asking to their peers. The research aimed at describing students’ activities during the implementation of peer Tutor with a Portfolio evaluation. It was to see whether the implementation better than conventional learning technique. The design was experimental research. The population was stucents grade VIII at SMPN 4 Pancung Soal. They were VIII1, VIII2, VIII3, VIII4. Using random sampling technique, grade VIII1 was chosen as the experimental group, while grade VIII2 as the control group. The instrument used was observation sheet and essay mathematic test. From the test reliability, the learning outcome of learning with the implementation of peer tutor with portfolio evaluation was obtained.Based on the analysis of observation sheet, there was an improvement of students’ activities during the teaching and learning process and the data analysis obtained was distributed homogeny and normal. Based on the analysis of hypothesis, it was obtained that the p-value= 0,012 was < α=0,05. Thus, the hypothesis was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded thet students’ math concept understanding using peer tutor technique with a portfolio evaluation was better than that of conventional technique.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the students math concept comprehension and a sense of responsibility of the student’s exercises are still low. The aims of this research to look at how the development of student’s activity by applying Teknik Bisnis Berisiko to determine whether students math concept comprehensionby applying Teknik Bisnis Beresiko is better than student math concept comprehension by applying conventional learning. The type of research is experimental, population is all student in grade IX SMPN 25 Padang school year 2013/2014. Technique that is used is random sampling. The instrument used in this research was the observation sheet and final test math concept comprehension. Data analysis activities performed byc alculating the percentage of students, the results showed that the students activity has increased. The result of Hypothesis test by using t-test one part with the Minitab Software obtained t>tα. It means that the hypothesis in this research is accept, so it can be concluded that the students math concept comprehension by applying Teknik Bisnis Berisiko is better than the students math concept comprehension by applying conventional learning class IX SMPN 25 Padang school year 2013/2014 .

Abstract

This research background for the understanding of mathematical concepts students are low and students do not want the beta to the teacher and told friends what they do not understand about the subject matter being studied. The research aims to determine whether the students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying PAIKEM in cooperative learning model couples swapping technique is better than the students understanding of mathematical concepts with conventional learning in class IX SMP 2 Imagine the school year 2012/2013 .This type of research is experimental , with random design of the subject . The population in this study were all students of class IX SMP 2 Bayang listed in the school year 2012/2013 . Sampling was done randomly so that the selected class as a class ix2 XI6 as experimental and control classes . The instrument used was a test of understanding the concept in the form of essays with reliability 0 , 80.Teknik analysis of the data used is the t test with one hand calculation MINITAB software .Based on the analysis of data obtained average value of mathematics learning outcomes experimental class is 85,30 and control class 79.14. Hypothesis testing using t-test with a one -party software MINITAB calculations obtained p - value 0.037 and α = 0.05 means p - value < α then the hypothesis is accepted at the 95% confidence level . It can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts in mathematics learning by applying PAIKEM in the cooperative learning technique Couple Exchanging better than the students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying conventional learning models in class IX SMP 2 Imagine the school year 2012/2013 .
