Abstract

ABSTRACT         Mangrove crab (Scylla serrata Forskal) is one of commodity that many liked the beach because the meat tastes delicious, especially the crab meat that are laying and high protein content. Gulf Buo area there is a lot of mud crab especially S. serrata Forskal, but with the continuous arrests (Overfishing) conducted by the society mud crab population has declined. This research aims to determine the density of mangrove crabs and physical factors in the Gulf Buo water chemistry Bungus sackcloth Bay District Padang West Sumatra. Types of the research that used is descriptive that take the sampling directly in the field by using transects that placed by purposive sampling is choosing a location based on the selected mangrove vegetation then chooses 3 stations. The results of research that has been conducted found 44 individuals, the highest density at station II is 2.1 individuals/traps, the average density of 1.47 individuals/trap. The physical factors water chemistry still in accordance with the range of tolerance for the life of the mangrove crab with 24-30 ppt salinity, temperature from 29.0 to 30.7 0C, pH at the third station 7, and 4.90 to 6.26 ppm DO. This research can conclude that the population density of Mangrove Crab Scylla serrata Forskal on Mangrove Forests in the Gulf Buo Bungus sackcloth Bay district of West Sumatra Padang as much as 1.47 individuals/trap. Water chemistry physics factor is still within the range that is good enough to support life mud crab.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  This research is base on observation in the SMPN 8 Solok Selatan. Teaching materials such as handout has never been used at this school. The teacher used teaching materials such as textbooks and student activity sheets (LKS) to support the learning process . But they were less attractive, especially in the human respiratory system material. The teaching material pictures were not complete and colorless. Thus necessary to develop a handout with appear of the magazine. Aims the research to know validity and practicalities handout with appear of the magazine on the human respiratory system material . This research was a development with 4D procedural model, which was done in STKIP PGRI Sumatera barat  and SMPN 8 Solok Selatan class VIII semester 1 of academic year 2012/2013. The study subjects were 6 validators, and to test the practicalities done by 3 teachers and 21 students. The data of this study was primary data, then analyzed with descriptive analysis. Results of data analysis showed that the average value of the validity handout with appear of the magazine was 84,64% and valid category. Result Analysis of the practicalities handout with appear of the magazine by teachers with Practical value was 83,26% with practicalities category, while by students the practical value was 83,95% with practicalities category. Concluded of the research was handout with appear of the magazine on the human respiratory system material for junior high school students produced a valid and practical criteria, so it can be used in the learning process.

Abstract

AbstractFly is one of insects included into OrdoDiptera which has a pair of wing organized as membrane. Fly has cosmopolitan feature it means that fly life is got smooth almost in the all of the earth surface. In the world, there are 85.000 kind of flies. This study aimed to know diversity of flies in location of meats disposal of Padang city and identificationwas conducted in the Laboratory of Animal Taxonomy Unand  of  Biological Science and mathematic faculty of Andalas University. This study used  two  methods, they were sweap and baiting. By using Sweap method the insecnetwas swayed twice to the left and right one in the location of meat’sdisfosal.Although, Baiting method used 3 type of bait, they are fresh fish,dray fish and mixing of ( terasi, fesh fish and dray fish).  The research result was got3 family such as Muscidae, Calliphoridae and Sarcophaggidaethat were involved  5 species, they areMuscadomestica, Chrysomyamegacephala, Calliphorasp., Luciliasp. and Sarcophaga sp.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Kandis Acid plant (Garcinia xanthochymus Hook.f.) is one herb that is intertwined with everyday dishes. Almost all dishes Padang  wearing kandis acids, especially fish based dishes. Damage foodstuffs by microorganisms has been happening since the material is located in the field (orchard) until the material is transported, stored and traded. Sources of microorganisms destroyer kandis acid can come from the environment, equipment or hand manager (human) itself. Mold are microorganisms that are found in food, including kandis acid.  Mycotoxins are toxins released by mold and are detrimental to health. This study aims to determine the types of mold contaminants on kandis acid (Garcinia xanthochymus Hook.f.) sold in Pasar Raya Padang.The research was conducted in July and August 2013 at the Labolaturium Microbiology University of Andalas,  by using the method survay descriptive survey is to undergo directly to Kandis acid in Pasar Raya Padang, further research, the results in the identification using reference books Barnett and Samson and Hoekstra subsequently described. Based on the results, the six species of three genus mold  Kandis acid contaminating namely: Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus sp.1 suspected Aspergillus oryzae, Aspergillus sp.2 suspected Aspergillus flavus, Penicilim sp.1,  Penicillium sp.2, Rhizopus oryzae, So Kandis acid is sold in Pasar Raya Padang contaminated by mold.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The factor of environment in learning process are needed attetion by the  teacher is some learning media, that can make easier student for learning process. One of the effort that should be to do by the teacher to make student easier in learning proses is preapere learning media. Base of observation and result of interview with one of biology teacher at SMP N 30 Padang  that say in the learning teacher use material teachesas tesk book and LKS in the marked. Related didn’t have handout so  it can be developed the handout with picture consept map of respiration system in biology for junior high school. This research was developmental research which was used 4-D models, it consists four steps but that limited become 3 steps were define,design and develop. Practicality test by 2 teachers and 37 students at class VIII of junior high school. Analisys data by percentage technique and process of descriptive. The result of validity handout with picture concept map in by validator showed that handout was very valid with 90,62%. The result of practicality handout by the teachers showed that this handout with criteria very practice 90,72% and the result practicality by students showed that this handout in criteria practice was 82,50 %. It can be concluded that handout with picture concept map of respiration system it was valid and practice.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Lumbricus rubellus activity in agriculture area has give more positif character in within increase fertility soil on physics and land chemical. However for the moment agriculture lands trough thick and thin. As fertility land is down by dint offten use of essence chemistry like organofosfat pesticide clasification with profenofos active material by farmer in ficid. This research in then on to know influence profenofos insecticide toward fekundity and viability egg of Lumbricus rubellus at May until 2013 of July and Located in Biology Laboratory Kopertis Wilayah X. This research use randomised completely disign with 5 teratment and 5 recur. That treatment is profenofos insecticide with 0 %, 1 %, 0,2 %, 0,3 % and 0,4 % concentration and by syringe volume dose insecticide solution where commonly use is 1 ml for each treatment. Abstract

ABSTRACT The background of this research by the low learning outcome biology of students MAN Koto Baru Dharmasraya, which is caused by several factors such as learning less interesting and boring, teachers tend to use lecture method and discussion, learning does not come with media and students are less activity and creative in learning. One attempt to do is by giving media puzzle and talking stick learning model. This research aimed to determine the effect media puzzle and talking stick learning model on learning outcome biology for students class X MAN Koto Baru Dharmasraya academic year 2012/2013. This type of research is experimental research, which is carried on class X semester 2 of academic year 2012/2013 in MAN Koto Baru Dharmasraya in May 2013, with the research design Randomized Control Group Only Design. The population in this research is the students of class X MAN Koto Baru Dharmasraya academic year 2012/2013 which consists of three class. The method of sample is by using Purposive Sampling, to determine the class of samples was done by the draw in order to obtain a sample class, class X1 as the experimental class and the control class as  a class  X2.  The  instrument  used  is the final  test  of learning  outcome  in  the form  of objective test of 30 items. Data analysis was performed with analysis of test-t. Be based on analysis  obtained  an average  grade  experimental  learning  result  is 72,56 with a standard deviation  of 7,82, while the control class is 66,42 with a standard of 10,73. Of the test-t analysis tobtained  (2,05) >ttable  (1,68) so it can concluded that the subjects with media puzzle and talking stick learning model can improve learning outcome biology class X MAN Koto Baru Dharmasraya

Abstract

ABSTRACT The students’ lack of motivation in learning was assumed as the cause of their low achievement in Biology. One of the efforts done to improve the students’ learning achievement was by applying Luck Wheel strategy. This research was aimed at revealing the effect of applying Luck Wheel strategy on the students’ learning achievement in Biology in class VII of SMPN 1 Kinali in Academic Year 2012/2013. This was an experimental research which used Control-Group Posttest Only Design. The population of the research was all of students in class VII of SMPN 1 Kinali registered in Academic Year 2012/2013. By using purposive random sampling technique, class VII1  was chosen as the experimental class and class VII6  as the control class. The result of the research indicated that after the strategy applied, the average score of the experimental class was higher than the control one in which the score for the experimental class was 77,6 and the control one was 68,0. Based on the result of hypothesis test it was concluded that the use of Luck Wheel strategy could improve the students learning achievement in Biology especially in Ecosystem topics at SMPN 1Kinali Kabupaten Pasaman Barat.

Abstract

Marquisa is one of favourite fruit in Indonesia. However this plant is oftenattacked by diseases, one of them is Bactrocera dorsalis. There is no information yetabout what interest Bactrocera dorsalis to marquisa does. Based on the problem, theaim of the research is effect of marquisa extrac t (Passiflora edulis varietas flavicarpa)toward Feeding Strategy of fruit fly Bactrocera dorsalis Hend. T his research wasexperimental research used cilinder Y tube method, with match treatment and includes10 repetitions. The research was conducted from October 2012 to February 2013. Theresult, show that marquisa extract have effect toward Feeding Strategy from fruit flyBactrocera dorsalis. On the searching activity, the fastest time of fruit fly reachedmarquisa was at the treatment V (75,13 seconds) although longest time was at treatmentI (256,33 seconds). On the grounding ac tivity, the fastest time of fruit fly reachedmarquisa was at the treatment V (45,23 seconds) although the longest time of treatmentI (58,7 seconds). Based on Chi-square analysis the treatment had the higher differencebetween petrogenol and marquisa extract, excepting treatment 3 ml of marquisa extractand 3 drops of petrogenol did not have real difference between petrogenol and marquisaextrac t. It cand conclude that marquisa extract had effect toward Feeding Strategy offruit fly Bactrocera dorsa lis.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The source that is used by student in science learning proses is student’s worksheet (LKS). Student’s worksheet that available in SMPN 29 Padang is made or designed by MGMP Teacher’s science, which is that student’s worksheet does not have the interest design. The picture yhat is given on worksheet does not have color and less clear. Picture instruction and picture still less clear. The material in science learning at eight grade in SMP about human’s growth and development. Based on this case, this research has purpose to make student’s worksheet (LKS) that have validity and simple picture on the human growth and development material for SMP. This research had done in SMPN 29 Padang at eight grade, on January academic year 2013/2014. This research is development research, about development on student’s worksheet that have 4-dimension picture model which is modified, they are define, design, and development. The data of research is primary data, includes validity and practical that is analyzrd by descriptive analysis is percentage. The student’s worksheet (LKS) has validity value is 80,75%. It means that is acceptted by validator based on didactic, construction, and also technique. It has result practical value around 78,60% from teacher, and 81,98% student that resultis named practical the conclusion that student’s worksheet (LKS) is validity and practical
