Abstract

ABSTRACTSalmonella typhi is the bacterium that causes fever typhoid. Typhoid fever is still an endemic disease in Indonesia. Typhoid occur in the presence of bacterial infection Salmonella typhi. Combating bacterial infection can be done by giving antibiotics, but bacteria have a high level of resistance to antibiotics. Bacterial resistance to antibiotics caused an increased mortality rate. It is therefore necessary to find a new alternative antimicrobial drugs. Binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) is a plant that has a role as antimicrobial compounds that contain antimicrobials such as flavonoids, alkaloids, terpenoids and saponins. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of leaf extract binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) on the growth of Salmonella typhi bacteria. The experiment was conducted from August to September 2013 in the Laboratory Kopertis X, Padang. Using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 3 replications. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA), and a further test of Least Significant Difference (LSD). The results showed each treatment binahong leaf extract (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) provide inhibition to the growth of Salmonella typhi. From the study concluded binahong leaf extract (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) can inhibit the growth of Salmonella typhi.

Abstract

ABSTRACTLake Maninjau has a location in Kecamatan Tanjung Raya, Kabupaten Agam, West Sumatera. Lake Maninjau has a function as a society jobs like make a fish pond. There are fish pond got the influent toward the composition of organisme in the lake, one of them is zooplankton. The purpose of this research was to know the composition and structure of zooplankton community with physica chemical water factor in different under in arround the fish pond of lake Maninjau. This research was done in March until May 2013. The location of the research was done by using stratified random sampling method with determined one research station. In the station determined three took sample method were in surface with the deep 4m and deep 8m. The samples by using water pomp machine and planktonet. They identified at took Laboratorium of STKIP PGRI west Sumatera. Temperature, pH and DO measured in the field and Nitrogen totaily done in water environmen laboratorium UNAND Padang. The result of research are got 4 classes zooplankton, phytomastigophorea with one genous (Peridinium), Monogononta 7 genous (Branchionus, Colurella, Filinia, Keratella, Lepadella, Lycane, and Tricocerca), Digononta was 1 genous (Macrotrachela) and Crustacea got 4 genous (Cylops, Macrothrix, Pleuroxus and Nauplius). The highest diversity indexs got level III in deep 8m, 2,43 and the lowert got level I, 1.95 while in level II was 2,29. Measure of water quality in lake Maninjau Kabupaten Agam was temperature 2,9-30ºC, pH 8,9-9, Desolved Oxygen (DO) 6,8-8,8 mg/l and the total of nitrogen 1,75-3,25 mg/l.

Abstract

ABSTRACT learning process can be done well if the interaction between teachers and students. Moreover, learning is also supported by appropriate learning media. teachers should use the media within their learning needs students who are taught. As for one of the materials that can be in use as an aid students in understanding the biology of learning material sytem digestion is illustrated handout that accompanied the map concept. based on this, has done research on the development of pictorial handout material with a concept map on the digestive system for junior high school students are valid and practical. This type of research is the development of research, using 4D models that consist of four hapan ie, defaine, design, develop, and dessiminate. however, in this study, stage dessiminete not done. handout developed validated by the validator and the practicalities of four topical done one teacher and class VIII SMP 10Solok Selatan. Data in this study were primary data obtained from questionnaires validity assessment and practicalities. Data were analyzed using analysis describtive. of this study produced a product in the form of a pictorial handout material with a concept map on the digestive system for junior high school students. handout produced has an average value of86.98%  with  the  criterion  validity valid,  while  average  scores  by teachers  practicalities93.05% and 92.80% of students with very practical criteria. it can be concluded that the pictorial handout material with a concept map on the digestive system for junior high school students valid and very practical.

Abstract

ABSTRACT An irrigated rice field is a culture system plants that specific viewed a place for growing rice  plants, soil preparing, water, and the effect a circle by pesticide gas along with fertilizer. A place research to experience alternation function such as agriculture especially rice plant and freshwater fish protection, this varying condition to cause substratum structure because as base organism waters in general bentos possess habitat immovable relative to affect composition or abudance, because of it already carried out researching The Structure of Macrozoobenthos Community an irrigated rice field at Rajo Dani village sub district office Padang Ganting district of Tanah Datar. The purpose of this study was to determine the macrozoobenthos community structure including water factor physics chemistry while freshwater fish protection. The research already carried out in March 2013 an irrigated rice field at Rajo Dani village. That method used purposive sampling to determine observation three station and three repetition. Removed sample by Fish Net and Identified Zoology Laboratory STKIP PGRI West Sumatera. That result found three class namely Gastropoda, Insecta, Pelecypoda consisting of Lymnaea, Pomacea, Pachydrobiella, Goniobasis, Pleurocera, Melanoides, Thiara, Viviparus, Macromia, Corbicula. Macrozoobenthos abudance to revolve between 186,60-360,00 ind/m2 by means of highest density Pomacea genus as big as 80 ind/m2 at III station althought Macromia and Thiara genus lowest as big as 6,6 ind/m2 at I dan II station. A diversity index of 1,9121-2,1093. A similarity index of 88,89%-100%. This water factor physics chemistry while freshwater fish protection that is Temperature of 28,5-29,5ºC, pH of 7,1-8,0, and Dyxolved Oxygen of 4,99-6,16 mg/l including bottom paddy rice field substratum being muddy loam soil generally. The Structure of Macrozoobenthos Community an irrigated rice field shown by means of composition or abudance lowest that genus according to criteria diversity index from everystation.

Abstract

ABSTRACTTeachers in the learning process not only uses textbooks or supporting , but also can use other learning media to help smooth the process of learning. This study aims to produce a comic media learning biology valid and practical. This type of research is the development of research by using 4-D models that consists of 4 stages, stage definition (define), design (design), development (develop), and the spread (disseminate), do not disseminate stage. The study was conducted in the second semester of academic year 2012/2013. Of this study generated media such as comics biology lesson on the digestive system of food material for students of class XI IPA valid and very practical. The validity of 83.1% with a valid criteria, while practicalities value 86.25% of teacher with very practical criteria, and the practicalities value 86.01%  of students with very practical criteria.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The use of insecticide often exceed the dose should be in addition to harmful to health, the environment and also have an impact on-non target animal, one of them earthworm. This study on the effect of the insecticide Diazinon 600 EC to fecundity and viability of earthworm cocoons Pontoscolex corethrurus Fr. Mull. It has been conducted in-July – Augustus 2013, housed in the zoology laboratory biology, Padang State University.This research  is an experiment using the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments 6 replications. The treatmens were Diazinon 600 EC with 0 g/l (A), 0,002 g/l (B), 0,004 g/l (C), and 0,006 g/l (D) mixed with media. Parameters in this study were the fecundity and viability of earthworm cocoons Pontoscolex corethrurus Fr. Mull.The average number of cocoons fecundity and viability of earthworm cocoons Pontoscolex corethrurus Fr. Mull found highest in treatment A (40) and the lowest cocoons treatment D (0). While the average percentage hatchability Pontoscolex corethrurus earhworm cocoons were highest in  A, B, and C were 100% and the lowest concentration of D(0 %). It can coucluded that the insecticide Diazinon 600 EC can reduce fecundity cocoon, but had no effect on the viability of earthworm cocoons Pontoscolex corethrurus Fr. Mull.

Abstract

AbstractThis research is a development research, and his final outcome is a studentworksheet (LKS). LKS is a education media that contains of learning materials which  arranged  in a  systematic,  operasional  and  directed,  beside  it  that  also comes with the working step of pratikum. Students will be facilitated in understanding of biology material, by using student biology worksheets.  This research to generate image-based biology worksheets that can facilitate students in understanding the theory. This research has four stages, namely definition, design, development and dessiminate. Based on the result obtained, it can be concluded that the developed LKS had a valid and practical, therefore LKS can already be used at the time of learning.

Abstract

ABSTRACT One of insect pests that attack the rice plant is Scotiphara  coarctata  ( Ladybug stink ) which is more known as the bedbug ground  . This pest attacks  the rice at the beginning  of flowering  . These pests  suck fluids  book  on rice straw  that caused  crop color changed to reddish brown or yellow . In connection with that have done research on population  density  Scotinophara  coarctata  in rice on April 14 to August 15, 2013 . Sampling was conducted  in Kenagarian  Koto Nan Tigo Sub Trunk Cotton South Coastal District  descriptive  survey  method  and  collections  directly  to  Scotinophara  coarctata that existed at the study site using adhesive traps . Collection using sampling techniques ordinal decision . Decision made for 2 days in a row 2 times ( morning and afternoon ) on flowering phase and phase cook milk . Decision made on 25 clumps of rice in each phase. From  the results  of research  conducted  in the flowering  phase of the tail  with  229 gained an average of 9.16 , and the phase of the cooking milk obtained 177 tail with an average 7.08 . From the results of research conducted in Kenagarian Koto Nan Tigo Sub Trunk Cotton South Coastal District earned an average population density is 406 bedbug ground tail with an average 16.24 perpengambilan  . In this case bedbug ground already crossed a threshold .

Abstract

ABSTRACT The background of this research was the student’s of class VIII SMPN 2 Ampek Angkek low biology test outcome, due to the less motivated student’s. The teachers tended to give long explanation, it led into the teachers center process in teaching and learning. The students were less confident for questions and answer. The purpose of the research was to find out the comparison of students biology test result by using active learning strategy type everyone is a teacher here and type the power of two to the class VIII students of SMPN 2 Ampek Angkek. The research has been done in class VIII on August 2013. This type of research was experimental research by randomized control group posttest only design. The population of this research were all students of class VIII SMPN 2 Ampek Angkek listed in the academic year 2013/2014. Test used was an objective test. The technique of data analysis was t test. Based on the data analysis result, it was found that both of the sample classes were normal distribution and homogeny. The result of hypothesis test was t score 1,61 meanwhile t table 1,68, it indicates that t score < t table, so the hypothesis of this research was accepted H0, it can be concluded that there was no difference between the type of the active learning strategy everyone is a teacher here and the power of two toward the students tes result.

Abstract

ABSTRACTAlmost all people in the Induriang village  use traditional medicinal plants, whether plants that have been cultivated and wild growing plants. This study was conducted to determine the types of medicinal plants used by people in the  Induriang village. The research was conducted in June 2013 by a descriptive survey method, the sampling in the village Induriang researchers assisted by 2 shaman and sampling carried out in the fields, houses and woods around the radius depth of ± 100 meters from the road. From this study, it was found as many as 33 species of medicinal plants from 22 familia and can be used to treat 28 kinds of diseases outside and internal medicine. Medicinal plant species most commonly found are from Familia Poaceae, Myrtaceae, Euphorbiaceae and Zingiberaceae respectively 3 types and is advisable to be able to conduct further research on the ecology of medicinal plants that exist in the area.   Â
