Abstract

ABSTRACT Apis dorsata bees are social insect, which in a normal colony consists of caste is a queen several hundread males and several thousand workers. Hive of honey Apis dorsata bees contains eggs, larva, pupa, pollen, honey and sometimes water. In connection with that have done research on the existence of colonies Apis dorsata Fabr. Agregation population(Hymenotera: Apidae) in Sijunjung. April – June 2013 with the aim to determine the existence of population colonies Apis dorsata Fabr. Agregation in Sijunjung. This study uses a descriptive survey methos by observing colonie of Apis dorsata Fabr. Agregation directly of the kapok tree is by counting the number of active colonies, colonies are moved and the relationship of physical environment factors. The results of research is got the number of active colonies that is at most 14 active colonies and at 3 colonies. Where the number af active colonies are most commonly found on branches 1-2 and on the twigs 1-2 while the number at least on branches 9-10, and number of colonies that move is 7 colonies were found on branches 1- 2. Number of colonies that are mostly found  in April, while the at least in June. Nesting trees that are in Palangki 1 m and Pasar Jum’at 30 cm.

Abstract

ABSTRACT            This research is formulated by this the result of a study biology at eight grade student of junior high school 25 Padang that still have under of KKM that is 75. The causes are in the learning process the teacher as a fasilitator, so the student is not creative  and less of interesting in learning process and then there is no hand book that used for students. To avoid  these problems, the reasearcher uses of creative-productive strategy in learning process by handout. The purpose of this research is to know the effect of using  creative-productive learning strategy toward the result of a study biology at eight grade students of junior high school 25 Padang. The design of this research is experimental research. Population of this research is at eight grade students of junior high school 25 Padang. The researcher uses purposive sampling technique. The researcher gets two classes as a sample. They are VIII3 as experimental class and VIII4 as control class. The instrument is used for the research is the result test of study. Based on the analyzing of the data the researcher got the mean of experimental is 80,07 and the mean of control group  is 69,79. The result of the test is taken by using normality test, Homogenites and hypothesis. The result of analyzing the data is used by T-test. The value of t-calculated = 6,08 and t-table = 1,82. Based on the analyzing the data the researcher concluded that the creative-productive learning strategy by handout gave an effective effect toward to the result of a study biology at eight grade students of junior high school 25 Padang.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research is background by the low of outcomes student in biology class VIII of MTsN Lubuk Sikaping and haver minimal competencess of criterion (KKM) yet. The out comes of student are lowered by the teacher make of interesting teaching methods yet. This research intend how the influence of the aplication active learning Quiz Team technical and teaching material for the study outcomes of students is biology at class VIII of MTsN Lubuk Sikaping in periode 2012/2013. This kind of research is an eksperimental which using of the Randomized Control Group postest only design, the populations are all of student at class VIII of MTsN Lubuk Sikaping  in periode of 2012/2013. The sampling by purposive sampling technical a sample he found by class VIII2 as eksperimental class and class VIII3 as control class. The instrument are make is written test in objective question. The data of analysis technical used uji –t by level α 0,05. The outcomes of data analysis  is found a price t hitung 6,18, while t table 1,66. This is t arithmatic > t table. Therefore hiphotesis is accepted that the application of  active learning quiz team technical and teaching material can improve the outcomes of student at class VIII of MTsN Lubuk Sikaping in the study periode 2012/2013.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  The background of the research is motivated by the low results obtained studying biology students. This is caused by the lack of student motivation in learning biology and considers it boring biology class because the material is rote. Realizing that the author implementing learning by applying strategy synergetic teaching. The purpose of the research to determine the effect of the application of strategies active learning type Synergetic Teaching on learning outcomes of student.The type of research is experimental. The population in this study were students of class XI IPA 1 SMAN 1 Sungai Limau Pariaman Academic Year2012/2013. The research was conducted in May 2013. The design of this study isRandomized Control-Group Posttest Only Desingn.  The analysis of the average values obtained experimental class 78,87   and control class 73,83. Hypothesis testing using t-test values obtained t (2.72)> t table (with a 1.72 significance level0.05) means that the hypothesis is accepted. From the analysis of the data whichhave been obtained can be concluded that the use of learning strategies synergetic teaching biology to improve learning outcomes of students in class XI IPA 1SMAN 1 Sungai Limau Kabupaten Padang Pariaman.

Abstract

ABSTRACTLearning difficulties from the students is influenced by several factors, such as internal and external factors of the school. The aims of this research to know the factors that cause learning difficulties of the students in the biology subjects. This research is a descriptive research. The population in this research was students of class X, XI IPA, IPA XII Senior  high school 1 Padang gelugur Pasaman who registered in 2012/2013 academic year that amounted of 475 students. The members of the population that used as sample were 25 % of the 475 students, who amounts 120 students, and implemented in February 2013. From the result of the research, the percentage of data obtained from internal factors on intelligence indicators of students in learning, the students attitudes in learning, the talent of students to develop their hobby in learning, the students interest give priority to their desire in learning, the students motivation in learning, with a value of 54.52 % with criteria quite influential. While the percentage of external factors that influence the students in learning difficulties on biology subjects with indicators of how the parents educate the children , the relationship between the family , the situation of house , economy of the family , the teachers teaching methods , curriculum , library , the condition of school buildings , school discipline , playmate , mass media with a value of 52.12 % with criteria quite influential. From the research it can be concluded that the internal and external factors enough to affect learning difficulties of the students.

Abstract

ABSTRACTOne task of the teacher is to create learning tools that RPP. RPP is a plan that describes the procedures and learning management to achieve one or more that KD has been described in the syllabus . At SMA Negeri 1 Pulau Punjung and 2 Pulau Punjung lesson plans are identical. This study aims to determine the standardized lesson plans created by teachers of biology in Class XI Semester II in accordance with the standards IPKG-1 which has been developed by Mulyati, etc (2013). This research is a descriptive study. The population in this study is the RPP biology teacher in Class XI SMA Dharmasraya. Sampling techniques in the study was stratified random sampling. Sources of data in this study is the RPP biology teacher in class XI SMA Dharmasraya . The data were processed using percentage techniques. Results of this study revealed that the CSP component analysis completeness subject teacher of biology at SMA in the District Dharmasraya with an average of 55 %. Results of the relationship between indicators of valuation analysis, learning objectives, learning materials, teaching methods, instructional media, learning activities and evaluation of the RPP subject teacher of biology at SMA in the district Dharmasraya with an average of 64 % considered pretty standard. The conclusion that the terms of the completeness of the components RPP Subject teacher of biology at Dharmasraya is 55 % and RPP SMA biology Class XI For Standards in Dharmasraya which 64 % were categorized enough standard.

Abstract

ABSTARCTThis study aims to determine the learning outcomes of students with the application of cooperative learning model jigsaw with tree chart in biology learning in class VII SMPN 2 Lubuk Sikaping Pasaman. Types of research used in this study is a design experiment with a posttest only control group design. Population in this study were all students of class VII SMPN 2 Lubuk Sikaping Pasaman in the school year 2012/2013. Of this study it can be concluded that the jigsaw cooperative learning model with tree chart positif effect on learning outcomes biology class VII SMPN 2 Lubuk Sikaping Kabupaten Pasaman.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Beetles (Coleoptera) act as a biological pest control and as recast organic matter in the forest. Changes in forest conditions in Kanagarian Kunangan Parik Rantang into oil palm plantation area is expected to affect the people of the land surface of the animals. This study aims to determine the composition of beetles (Coleoptera) in the soil surface oil of palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) (Station I) and forest around the oil palm plantations of the people (Station II). This study was carried out from May to April 2013 and sampling was conducted on 12 untill 15 March 2013. Sampling was done by using pitfall traps (total of 50 pitfall traps) at both stations. The results showed that 13 genera that belong to 11 families  were found. At station II was found 12 genera and 9 families. Climatic factors and physical- chemistry at the station I and station II were measured where air temperature ranged from29.080C-31.330C, soil temperature (230C-240C), air humidity ranged from  53.17%-59.83%, soil pH from 6.6-6.7, soil moisture content from 30.45%-39.45%, and soil organic carbon content was 6.49%-7.50%. Spearman correlation analysis showed that there are differences in the composition of the genera of beetles (Coleoptera) ground level between the two stations.

Abstract

ABSTRACTIn theaching and learning process, the students are hoped to get benefit of learning biology and know in which case the concept can be implemented, furthermore, it is necessary for the teacher  to create learning atmosphere that will help the student in understanding the concept. To make the student easier in understanding the material, the teacher as a facilitator should be able to create and adapt students need with any source of material. The learning sources that was not still understandable and interesting can bother learning process so that it is needed a development of learning sources that can be in the form of module. Based on the case above, it was done the research which had a purpose to create a module that was completed by drawing map concept in material “klasifikasi Makhluk Hidup” for junior high school students, to know validity and practicality criterion. This research was a developmental research which was used three phase of 4-D model, it consisted of define, design, and develop. The subject of this research was 3 lecturers of biology, 2 teachers of SMP N 2 Pantai Cermin. Practicality testing by 2 Biology teachers and 29 students class VII SMP. Analysis of the data used descriptive and percentage technique. Based on the research result, it produced a product of module, the percentage score for the module which was categorized valid by the validator was 85,08%. Then, module which was categorized practice by teacher was 88,59% and by the students was 87,85%. from the easy used and learning efficiency therefore, it can be concluded that the module that was completed by drawing concept mapping had validity and practicality criterion.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Learning result in   junior high school biology 2 Painan still below the minimum completeness criteria (KKM). Lack of student learning result is caused by several things, such as lack adequately supported by a conducive classroom situation, so students tend to be noisy and play around when the teacher presents the lesson and less varied media used by teachers in the learning process. This study aimed to comparison the results of biological studies VIII grade students on the material growth and development are taught using interactive media and is taught using picture media. This type of research is experimental, the research design used in this study is the Only Randomized Control Group Posttest Design. This study was conducted in July-August 2013. The population is all students in grade VIII junior high school 2 Painan listed in the school year 2013/2014. Sampling with purposive sampling technique and  obtained VIII3   class as  a class experiment 1 were taught using interactive media and VIII5 class as a class experimental 2 taught by using picture media. The instrument used is in the form of a written test objective. Based on the achievement test scores of biology students, earned an average grade experiment 1 was 75,68 and the average class experiment 2 was 61,95. Data were analyzed using t-test. Of the t-test analysis, obtained t (5,89) > t table (1,68) which means that H1 is accepted. Thus it can be concluded that there are biological differences in learning result of students on the material growth and development by using interactive media and picture media of class VIII Semester 1 Junior High School N 2 Painan Kecamatan IV Jurai Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan.
