Abstract

This research aims to develop an integrated management model designed explicitly for the Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums (GLAM) sector to enhance the dissemination of information related to Proclamatory Bung Hatta. This study adopts a qualitative approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and literature reviews to understand the research topic comprehensively. Key informants included librarians, museum managers, curators, and information users, whose perspectives provided valuable insights into the dynamics of information utilization. The research was conducted in Bukittinggi City, considering Bung Hatta's hometown, as there are several GLAM institutions related to Bung Hatta in Bukittinggi City. The findings were then synthesized into a conceptual model. The findings of this study led to the development of an information packaging model tailored to the needs of the Bung Hatta collection. The model consists of several key stages: identifying relevant content, choosing the most suitable formats, reprocessing the information to suit user needs, organizing it in a coherent structure, and finally, disseminating it effectively. Each stage is designed to ensure that the values and messages embedded in the collection can be more easily understood, appreciated, and accessed by a wider audience.

Abstract

This study explores the influence of digital archival governance on service efficiency, transparency, and accessibility in Makassar City. The data were gathered through semi-structured interviews, observations, and document analysis involving government officials, policymakers, and IT personnel. The findings indicated that the effectiveness of digital archival governance was shaped by institutional preparedness, supportive legal frameworks, community engagement, and technological infrastructure. Capacity-building programs and professional training were essential to enhance the digital competencies of public servants, while participatory governance mechanisms contributed to greater public trust and access. Additionally, emerging technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence presented significant opportunities for optimizing archival systems, though they also introduce challenges related to cybersecurity and ethical management. This study contributes to the discourse on smart governance by highlighting both best practices and obstacles encountered in implementing digital transformation within public administration. It concludes by emphasizing the importance of collaborative governance models, adaptive institutional strategies, and ongoing technological innovation to ensure inclusive and sustainable urban development. Makassar’s experience offers valuable insights for other cities aiming to strengthen digital archival governance as a foundation for improved public service delivery.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the self-citation behavior of the ten most productive lecturers at Halu Oleo University using a bibliometric approach. Employing the Fi-Index method for self-citation analysis, the research followed three main stages: data collection, data processing, and data analysis. The data were obtained from the Scopus database, focusing on the top ten productive lecturers at the institution. Each lecturer's self-citation activity was measured using the Fi-Index formula, which compares the number of self-citations relative to their h-index. The findings revealed that all ten lecturers demonstrated self-citation patterns within a normal range. Muhammad Nurdin recorded the highest number of self-citations (867) with a Fi-Index score of 0.047572, followed by Maulidiyah (654, Fi-Index 0.043446), and others with similarly low Fi-Index scores ranging from 0.002096 to 0.043446. These values indicate that their self-citation practices do not exceed what is typically considered acceptable relative to their publication impact. The study concludes that the Fi-Index is a practical tool for evaluating the proportionality of self-citations among academic authors. It is recommended that future research apply the Fi-Index more broadly to assess self-citation behaviors among researchers across institutions and disciplines, ensuring a balanced interpretation of scholarly influence.

Abstract

This study analyzes the readiness and challenges encountered by Islamic academic libraries in Indonesia in adapting to AI-driven digital transformation. Employing a literature review approach, the research synthesizes findings from academic studies, institutional reports, and related literature to examine four central aspects: technological readiness, focusing on the adoption of AI and automation in library operations; human resource readiness, assessing librarians’ competencies in managing digital systems; implementation challenges, identifying obstacles such as limited infrastructure, financial constraints, and digital literacy deficits; and development strategies, offering recommendations to enhance digital library services while upholding Islamic educational values. The findings revealed that while several Islamic academic libraries have initiated steps toward digitalization, persistent barriers hinder comprehensive implementation. Notably, disparities in infrastructure and professional capacity highlight the urgent need for strategic action. The study concludes that successful digital transformation requires sustained investment in technology, ongoing professional development for librarians, and inter-institutional collaboration. Strengthening these areas will enable Islamic academic libraries to evolve into dynamic digital knowledge hubs that contribute meaningfully to academic advancement in the Society 5.0 era.

Abstract

This study investigates the challenges and strategies associated with implementing web archiving across various institutions in Indonesia, including Universitas Terbuka, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Universitas Mataram, Universitas Diponegoro, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, and several regional archival and library offices. Employing a mixed-method approach, the research combines quantitative data from a survey of 235 archivists and information professionals with qualitative insights gathered through interviews with institutional representatives. The findings revealed a limited familiarity with the concept and practice of web archiving among respondents, which hinders both interest and institutional readiness to adopt such practices. Contributing factors include gaps in digital literacy, inadequate training, and lack of institutional policy frameworks. To address these issues, the study recommends systematic efforts to improve digital competencies through targeted training programs and awareness campaigns. Enhanced understanding of web archiving is crucial for ensuring the long-term preservation of digital information, particularly in an era marked by rapid technological change and increased reliance on web-based content. The research underscores the need for collaborative strategies and policy integration to foster a sustainable web archiving culture across academic and government institutions in Indonesia.

Abstract

The Arboretum Universitas Padjadjaran, as a living collection or museum, is a valuable educational resource for science education, promoting hands-on activities, student-centered learning, and rich social interaction. Aligned with the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum, the arboretum can be integrated to develop learning innovation, particularly in the “Digitalization of Biological Objects,” which leads to bio-curators’ competencies. Visual arts can be an excellent strategy for learning science, as it combines systematic work with creative thinking. Through this approach, the students can apply theory to real-life experiences. This study aimed to utilize the Arboretum Universitas Padjadjaran to implement innovative strategies for effective learning in higher education through exhibitions. This study used the Research and Development (R&D) method. “ARBOR: The Art and Beauty of Universitas Padjadjaran’s Pollinator” is a photography talk show and exhibition providing information about pollinators, food plants, and host plants in the arboretum and surrounding campus. A total of 135 curated photographs were exhibited digitally. During the exhibition, the students guided over 250 visitors on pollinators and their role in the ecosystem. Our result shows that project-based learning, such as “ARBOR” exhibitions, increased awareness regarding biodiversity and environmental issues and enhanced the students' leadership, communication, creative thinking, innovation, and collaboration skills, demonstrating the inspiring potential projects in higher education.
