Abstract

International Organization for Migration (IOM) dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the mutual benefit in the protection of Indonesian Workers (TKI) in Malaysia. IOM facilitated the development of policies and programs aimed at the good of migrants, communities, and provide effective protection to migrant families, these activities can help people who plan to work abroad. Behind the objectives and benefits, the placement of workers abroad have a negative effect. The laws that apply in the destination of migrant workers that do not provide protection. IOM has been working closely with the Indonesian government to support the ongoing efforts of government in the eradication of violence migrant workers in Malaysia.This article aims to explain the role of IOM in protecting Indonesian workers in Malaysia in 2013-2015, IOM's relief effort is a form of the Vision and Mission of IOM itself. The object of this study is the workers who are in Malaysia. The method used is qualitative and quantitatively by collecting data through books, journals, official publications and websites that are relevant to this study as well as direct interviews with stakeholders. Further use Pluralist perspective and role theory advanced by Mochtar Mas'oed.IOM organization does not work alone, but in collaboration with the BNP2TKI, it is characterized by Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). besides IOM also to give venture capital assistance to workers who have been deported.Keywords: IOM, migrant workers.

Abstract

The problems of public housing and residential areas as a government affair compulsory basic services organized by the Pekanbaru City Government have practically been implemented, but there are still various problems that remain unresolved.This study aims to determine the Pekanbaru City Government's actions in implementing compulsory affairs in the field of public housing and residential areas and to determine the pattern of integrating interests between the government, the private sector and the community in developing housing and residential areas in Pekanbaru City. Primary information sources (informants) are determined by purposive sampling and the necessary data are collected by interview techniques and literature study.From the results of this study it is known that the Pekanbaru City Government's actions in implementing compulsory affairs in the field of public housing and residential areas are carried out by meeting the needs of the House as one of the basic human needs in the framework of enhancing and equitable distribution of people's welfare, but in its implementation there are still MBRs that have not yet have Residential (Houses) and Budget Allocation that have not led to the need for RLH for MBR, Realizing decent housing and settlements in a healthy, safe, harmonious, and orderly environment. Where what happens is the granting of residential area permits that do not pay attention to environmental aspects and the development of residential and residential areas, in fact many do not pay attention to environmental aspects such as water catchment area closure, river flow and land contour changes, give direction to regional growth and population rationale that will be rational but the Selective Office of the City of Pekanbaru has not been selective in issuing permits to build buildings and support development in the economic, social, cultural and other fields that can be done by providing housing in urban areas and carried out in stages and adjusted to the ability of citizens.In addition, the integration of interests between the Government, Private Sector and the Community in the Development of Housing and Settlement Areas in the City of Pekanbaru is carried out by efforts to implement the Standardization of Housing Development, Supervision and control of housing development and implement improvements in housing quality.

Abstract

The Office of Kesyahbandaran and Port Authority of Pekanbaru III class as a service provider in the field of port services is still faced with problems in the field of public services. In addition, a lot of service users always ignore the schedule of service procedures that have been given, so that the service can not be given optimally. The purpose of this research is to know how communicator strategy, messaging strategy, and communication media strategy used by Public Relations The Office of Kesyahbandaran and Port Authority of Pekanbaru Class III in improving the quality of public service in Pekanbaru city.This study used qualitative research methods with the presentation of descriptive analysis. Subjects in this study consisted of seven people selected by using purposive technique which is determined based on criteria of informant who understand public relation and involved in service activity and service user at Kesyahbandaran Office and Port Authority of Class III Pekanbaru. Data collection techniques include interviews, observation and documentation. To achieve the validity of data in this study, the writer use extension of participation and triangulation.The results of research in this study indicate that the strategy communicators are determined from the attractiveness of resource and communicator credibility. The message strategy used is to use appropriate language and word selection, directly to the main point of the problem, and use a message call in the form of a slogan or call. While the communication media used is consists of direct media or face-to-face,internet media in the form of official website and payment system through E-Biling System and mass nonmedia in the form of use of information board and ID Card for service user and visitor (guest).Keywords: Communication Strategy,Quality,Public Service

Abstract

Every chief has particular characteristic and different style of communication in leading his/her employee. The communication style of newspaper coordinator can improve motivation of work of journalists. The communication style of newspaper coordinator in Riau Pos are two-way communication and is open. This research aims to know the communication style of newspaper coordinator to improve motivation of work of journalists and supporting factors of motivation of work of journalists in Riau Pos.This research used descriptive qualitative method. The research subject involved newspaper coordinator of metropolis and journalists of Pekanbaru, determined by purposive sampling method. The object of research is the communication style of newspaper coordinator to improve motivation of work of journalists in Riau Pos. The technique of collecting data used interview, observation, and documentation.The results of this research showed that the communication style of newspaper coordinator to improve motivation of work of journalists in Riau Pos are the equalitarian style which means a two-way communication style based on the similarity aspects. Characteristic of the equalitarian style are (1) clarity in commands and work instruction of newspaper coordinator to journalist; (2) creating good relationship; (3) giving motivation; and the dynamic style, which means communication style that has an aggressive tendency. Characteristic of the dynamic style are (1) keep the work done in short time; (2) encouraging journalists to work harder; (3) giving an assignmet in a hurry. Supporting factors of motivation of work journalist in Riau Pos are (1) the welfare of journalist; (2) appreciation; (3) work environment; and (4) work period.Keyword: journalists, newspaper coordinator, the communication style, work of motivation

Abstract

This research was conducted in Sungai Pakning Bukit Batu Sub-district Bengkalis Regency. The purpose of this research is to know the Implementation of Berandam in Malay Customary Process in Pakning River, Bukit Batu Sub-district, Bengkalis Regency. The focus of this research is to analyze the change of meaning on the ritual of berandam in Pakning River, Bukit Batu District, Bengkalis Regency. The technique of determining the sample by purposive sampling. and set the number of samples as many as 3 people. The author uses qualitative descriptive method and Instrument data is observation and depth interview. The research conducted to find the meaning of berandam in process of marriage of adat malay is as follows: Cleansing Lahiriah, research conducted to find that the procession berandam aims to clean the body of the bride so that the glow when seen the wedding guests, if awake circumstances bride candidate then awake also inward . Cleansing the Heart, Research has found that a series of rituals performed at the time of berandam is intended to open the joy and happiness of the bride. The Symbol of Preparedness for Women to Take the Life of the Household, Research has found that performing a ritul berandam is similar to preparing a virgin to be a great woman in the household to be developed later. For that virgin to be married to be purified first through a ritual berandam. Changes in people's perceptions of the ritual of berandam are as follows: Contrary to Religious Values, Research conducted found the fact that people try to leave this ritual berandam because it is against the religion of Islam. Tradition of this berandam done indeed by shaving fine hair in some parts of the female body of the bride. And indeed in Islam itself shaved smooth hair is not allowed, Not in accordance with the Marriage Event of the Modern Age, Research conducted found that people are less interested in performing the tradition of berandam is because the ritual is not suitable for dipadupadan kan with modern wedding events that tend to be modern. Abstract

This research was carried out on the Enggal Jaya Farmer group in the village of Buluh Rampai Seberida district Indragiri Hulu district. The formulation of the problem discussed in the study is to find out the elements of social capital that play a role in the activities of Enggal Jaya livestock farmer groups. The theory used is the theory of social capital which consists of network, trust, and norms. This type of research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The research subjects were six people, namely the chairman, secretary, treasure, member of the Enggal Jaya livestock farming group, field extension officers and organic fertilizer buyers. Informan determination technique using purposive sampling technique. the results of this study are that social capital plays an important role in groups or organizations. Elements of social capital that play a role in the activities of the Enggal Jaya livestock farmer group, the most prominent of which is trust among fellow members by lending each other money to group members in need. And the weak element of social capital in the network in marketing organic fertilizer so that the scope in marketing the results of processing cow manure into organic fertilizer is still in the surrounding area and norm social.  Keywords: Social Capital, Farm, group

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of Altman’s (Z-score) analysis in predicting bancruptcy the plastic and packaging companies that is listed at Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) study period of 2012-2014. Data analysis used the method of Altman by used ratio of net working capital to total assets, retained earnings to total assets, earning before interest and tax to total assets, market value of equity to total debt, and sales to total assets. After get the Z-score result, then be classified according to the point of cut-off.This study used secondary data, financial reports (annual report). As for data listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for 3 years from 2012-2014. This study is descriptive research in methods of data collection by documentation, by taking data of the company financial statement. Sampling used a purposive sampling technique with researched 11 compenies for three years.This analysis showed that there were four companies which predicted potentially into bancruptcy next year if there is no progress in its financial position and operating result. They are PT Alam Karya Unggul Tbk, PT Berlina Tbk, PT Indopoly Swakarsa Industry Tbk and PT Siwani Makmur Tbk. While there were five companies which predicted into grey area. They are PT Argha Karya Prima Industry Tbk, PT Asiaplast Industries Tbk, PT Lotte Chemical Titan Tbk, PT Trias Sentosa Tbk and PT Yana Prima Hasta Persada Tbk. There is only two companies in good condition, they are PT Champion Pacific Indonesia Tbk and PT Sekawan Inti Pratama Tbk.Keywords : Bankrupt prediction, financial statement analysis, financial ratio, Altman Methode (Z-Score)

Abstract

The research conducted at Selebriti Asian&Suki Restaurant Pekanbaru where located in Jl. Sudirman No.426 Lt 1, Gedung Star City Square. The problem in this study is number of buyers has decreasing, percentage of target achievement has decreased, and  the failure of the company’s sales target has not been achieved, this study aims to determine the effect of promotion and store atmosphere on customer purchase intention Selebriti Asian&Suki Restaurant Pekanbaru . In this study use quantitive descriptive with SPSS program. The population in this is are consumers at Selebriti Asian&Suki Restaurant. The sampling technique chosen is slovin Formula with a sample 97 respondents. Hypothesis testing uses a simple linear analysis method and multiple analysis with result showing that promotion and store atmosphere have a positive and significan on customer purchase intention Selebriti Asian&Suki Restaurant. With the calculation of the coefficient of determination (R2) promotion on customer purchase intention of R square is 0,510 or 51% and store atmosphere on purchase intention the value of R square is 0,407or 40,7% and coefficient of determination (R2) promotion and store atmosphere the value of R square is 0,625 or 62,5%. This show that the promotion and store atmosphere gives an effect of  37,5% on purchase intention at Selebriti Asian&Suki Restaurant, while remaining 37,5% is effected by other variables that are not examined in this study.  Keywords : Promotion, Store Atmosphere,Customer Purchase Intetion

Abstract

Batik is widely known in Indonesia which is often associated with handicrafts and is also not infrequently included in the category of clothing industry. Batik industry, in its development in Indonesia dominated by small and medium scale business. In the context of the economic empowerment of the people, the policy support of the Small and Medium Industry is set forth in Law No. 3 of 2014 on Perindustian, namely central and regional government to empower small and medium industries (IKM) competitiveness, significant role in industrial structure, In poverty alleviation, by formulating policies.The method used in this study was conducted by qualitative approach with descriptive method, with data collection techniques including observation, interview, documentation study related to research objectives. Instrument in this study refers to the theory that Widjaja (2003) describes that empowering a community group to support the development of community potency in running the business through increasing role, productivity and efficiency by improving 4 (four) access that is, access to resources, Technology, access to markets, access to financing sources.The result of the research shows that the effort of handicraft business group 'Batik Riau' in community empowerment in Pekanbaru city has not run optimally. Access to capital resources in an effort to develop creative industries batik craft 'Creative House Cempaka' in Pekanbaru City still depend on the source of financing and funds through CSR program PT. Chevron Pacific, and very limited sales of batik handicrafts. Access to markets is still limited in the scope of 'Creative House of Cempaka' stores with simple marketing information technology (word of mouth) has not utilized access to technological developments. Financing access to financial institutions still faces administrative requirements that must be met, such as grants.Keywords: Empowerment, Batik, Small and Medium Industry, Business Capital.

Abstract

This research was conducted in the village of Delima Jaya districts Kerinci Kanan Siak regency. The purpose of this study is to find out how the readiness of oil palm farmers in facting the rejuvenation of the garden (replanting) in the village of Delima Jaya, to analyze the economic impact of the rejuvenation of oil palm plantations (replanting) in the village of Delima Jaya. The main problem in this study is the age of the oil palm trees that are old and should be in the replanting (replanting) but farmers do not have the capital to rejuvenate the garden. Sampe sampling in the research is by purposive sampling technique. The method used is qualitative method with descriptive approach. The instrument used in the filtering data is observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews. The result of this research is the fruits that have been done by the oil palm farmers in facting the rejuvenation of the garden (replanting) that is to have another garden instead of replanting his garden, the existence of savings, have jobs and other pears. As for the impact that arises is the non-productive period of oil palm crops and farmers income no longer exists.Keywords : Readiness, Replanting, Farmers
