Abstract

The purpose of this research is to see how the role played by Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) of Indonesia in providing assistance to victims of conflict in Syria and what ACT has provided to help the humanitarian crisis that occurred. The humanitarian crisis that occurred in Syria, has had fatal consequences for various state actors or what is commonly called Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), one of which is ACT Indonesia. This study uses a pluralism perspective. Pluralists believe that a successful country is the only actor in the international world. This research is also guided by the theory of Transnational Activism and the concept of the Transnational Advocacy Network. The method used is a qualitative method. Data interview techniques and literature study from several journals, books, documents and websites.The research shows ACT's ability to build international networks such as collaborating with NGOs and local organizations so that ACT is able to play a role in providing humanitarian assistance to the country it is aiming for, in this case the Syrian state. Then ACT Indonesia took action against the victims of the victims by executing the programs that had been made and explaining something related to ACT Indonesia to help victims of conflict in Syria.The results of this study concluded that ACT Indonesia has the ability to build international networks so that ACT is able to provide assistance to victims of conflict in Syria. Keywords: ACT Indonesia, Conflict, Humanitarian Crisis, Syria, NGO,                         Transnational, Advocacy

Abstract

United States took an important role in eradicating terrorism after 9/11, and the War on Terrorism was born. Somalia is a country that has had a prolonged conflict since President Siad Barre experienced the emergence of groups that were initially rebellious against the government. Then these groups became militant groups and even affiliated with global terrorism. One of the largest groups is Al Shabaab. This study aims to find out how to implement the Light Footprint Strategy. This strategy is a military strategy since President Barack Obama is known to eradicate attacks.To research this topic, the research method used is qualitative, to explain the implementations carried out by the United States in eradicating Al Shabaab. Then the theory used is the implementation of policies by Merilee S. Grindle, which explains how a policy becomes possible to be realized. The perspective used is realism. Given the above background, the author decided to use the concept of national interest, where the United States has a specific goal in implementing the strategy, and collected data using Library Research methodThe results of this thesis show that the implementation of policy carried out by the US can kill several key Al Shabaab leaders, so far the acceptable result is the death of Al Shabaab leaders, then the US claims the success of its air strikes. Unfortunately, Al Shabaab's presence in Somalia is quite strong in Africa.Key Words : Al Shabaab, War on Terrorism, Policy Implementation, National Interest.

Abstract

The dualism of authority in land services in Batam City, this is the Batam Authority (OB) now the Batam Concession Agency (BP) with Presidential Decree Number 41 of 1973 concerning the Batam Island Industrial Area and Decree of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 43 of 1977 concerning Management and Use of Land in The Batam Island Industrial Area provides authority to BP Batam in the land sector. The birth of the Batam City Government as stipulated in Law Number 53 of 1999 concerning the Establishment of Pelalawan Regency, Rokan Hulu Regency, Rokan Hilir Regency, Siak Regency, Karimun Regency, Natuna Regency, Kuantan Singingi Regency, and Batam City made Batam City an autonomous region that has mandatory affairs authority in the land sector. The purpose of this study is to describe the Dualism of Authority in Land Services in Batam City in 2018.This research uses a qualitative approach. This type of research is descriptive. The research location is in Batam City. Types and sources of data are divided into primary data with informant retrieval techniques through observations of researchers and secondary data in the form of supporting data related to dualism of authority in land services. Data collection techniques used by interviews and documentation. Meanwhile, data analysis was carried out using qualitative analysis.            The results show that the Dualism of Authority in Land Services in Batam City in 2018. In this case the Batam Authority (BP Batam) has the authority to manage land rights in Batam City, the Batam City Government does not have the authority in the land sector. The dualism of authority between the Batam Concession Agency and the Batam City Government is in legal uncertainty which causes frequent changes in policies that cause potential investors to hesitate to invest in Batam City. Abstract

An attraction that can attract tourists to visit must meet the development requirements, namely what to see, what to do, what to buy, what to arrive and what to stay. This study aims to determine the attractiveness of the Bokor Cultural Tourism Village and to determine the management of the Bokor Cultural Tourism Village, Meranti Islands Regency, Riau Province. The methodology used is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. This research was conducted with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the Bokor Cultural Tourism Village meets five development requirements, namely what to see, what to do, what to buy, what to arrive and what to stay. However, the implementation of these five conditions has not been fully maximized and these conditions do exist but are inadequate.Keywords: Attractiveness, Management, Bokor Village

Abstract

This research focuses on the cooperation carried out by Afghanistan-China through the BRI (Belt Road Initiative) in advancing the economy in Afghanistan. This collaboration refers to BRI's policy in which Afghanistan is one of the project countries for land routes through rail facilities as well as connecting ports to ports in countries such as Pakistan and Iran. Several agreements were made between the two countries in the procurement of infrastructure in Afghanistan to make the BRI project a success.This study aims to determine the impact and steps of China in realizing the BRI project. Then this study uses the theory of international cooperation, and the perspective of neo-liberalism as the research basis, as well as the level of analysis of the nation state. By using explanative research methods, and collecting data through library research techniques where the data comes from official documents, a number of journals, and research related news.The results of this study show how China-Afghanistan cooperation in the BRI project has a positive impact on the development of transportation infrastructure in Afghanistan. However, because the project is still ongoing, it is necessary to re-examine it in further research regarding the completion of the BRI infrastructure project in Afghanistan. This is needed to be a reference material for research and studies in the future. Keywords: Belt Road Initiative, cooperation, economy, infrastructure.

Abstract

The development of hotels in Pekanbaru is a very promising business for every businessman engaged in it. In the world of hospitality, the quality of food and drinks is crucial to it’s success in the world of hospitality, therefore, professional chefs are needed in their respective fields. The chef  as a food guide expert who spearheaded the success of the business.In this study, researchers used a descriptive qualitative method, because the F&B Manager position was vacant, so the researcher interviewed the F&B Service Supervisor as a key informant in gathering about the Chef's Professionalism.The results showed that the professionalism of the chef's performance of the maintenance factor (maintenance) was still not appropriate, however it was still not appropriate which caused the Chef to be unprofessional, namely employee opportunities to get training (on job training), support from the hotel with the help of every input-input from employees and placing leaders in a department. Therefore, researchers question that the company can communicate and resolve these problems so that the level of professionalism of Chef's performance increases.   Keywords: Chef's professionalism performance, food and beverage department

Abstract

This study discusses the Quality of Online Single Submission (OSS) Services at the Pekanbaru City Investment and One Stop Integrated Service (DPMTSP). The quality of the Online Single Submission (OSS) service is an undoubted strategy to support the role of the One Stop Integrated Service and Investment Service (DPMTSP) in providing administrative services to the community.This study uses a service perspective, public service, and the principles of public service. In carrying out its roles and functions, the Online Single Submission (OSS) as part of public services shows a good level of quality and is in accordance with the values and principles of public service. Quality Online Single Submission (OSS) services contribute to the acceleration of the public service process at the Pekanbaru City Investment and One Stop Integrated Service (DPMTSP). The resulting quality will affect public satisfaction and the acceleration of the administrative process which is expected through the breakthrough of the One-Stop Integrated Service and Investment Service (DPMTSP). Keywords: Online Single Submission, DPMTSP, Public Service, Service Quality

Abstract

European countries are potential market for Indonesian products such as coffee. However, the European Union has policies for imported products that are demanding in terms of environmentally friendly requirements. Indonesian coffee export has been challenged with Common Code for the Coffee (4C) for sustainability. This research describes the roles of Asosiasi Eksportir Industri Kopi Indonesia (AEKI) to improve Indonesian coffee’s quality.This qualitative research utilized secondary data with document analysis. The data came from books, journals, news from newspapers, official documents of Indonesian Statistic Bureau, and websites related to the topic.  To analyze the data, researcher used level analysis of group with theory of export and international trade.The research shows that AEKI played significant roles for helping Indonesian coffee farmer to comply with European Union’s requirements, that is sustainability. Several actions have been done through funding for better seeds, fertilizer, and harvest so the quality of coffee bean can comply with the demand. National and international promotions was also done to market the product worldwide. Abstract

This research was conducted on Scavenger Women in the Temporary Landfill  District Payung Sekaki Pekanbaru City. The purpose of this study is to find out how scavenger women play and to find out how the family economy of scavengers women. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The subjects in this study were 5 people. Informant determination technique is by using purposive sampling technique. Purposive sampling is the taking of subjects by setting specific traits that are in accordance with the purpose of the research so that it is expected to answer the research problems. Researchers use observation and interview techniques in data collection. The theory used is the theory of economic sociology put forward by Damsar namely the concept of actors, economic actions, barriers to economic action, economic and community relations, application of methods. The result of this study is that scavenger women work as scavengers due to low economic factors. Scavenger women will go to the Temporary Dump every day with the aim of collecting the remains of food that will be used as pig food that they keep and will collect used goods that they will sell monthly. Before female scavengers go scavenging they will do homework first.The total income of a scavenger woman's family a month is 2,700,000 to 5,200,000. The spending that a scavenger woman's family has to spend a month ranging from 2,700,000 to 5,000,000. Until now the life of the scavenger family can be fulfilled well as well as the school of his son is still running.Keywords: Scavenger Women, Economic Situation

Abstract

Pekanbaru is the capital of Riau Province, which has experienced an increase in population every year, this population growth has resulted in an increase in the amount of waste generated by its people. The Aksi Pekanbaru Bersih is one of the activities involving the entire Pekanbaru City community with the aim of creating a clean, healthy, safe, comfortable and beautiful Pekanbaru City based on Regional Regulation No.8 of 2014 with sanctions for violators. Socialization is one way of informing and inviting the public to follow the applicable regulations, in socialization of course requires the right communication strategy so that optimal communication goals can be realized. The purpose of this study was to determine the communication strategy of Dinas Lingkungan Hidup dan Kebersihan Kota Pekanbaru in socializing the Aksi Pekanbaru Bersih.This study uses a qualitative method. The technique of determining the research subject uses purposive technique in determining informants. There were 14 informants in this study, namely the Head of the Capacity Building, Information and Communication Environment Section, the Head of the Law Enforcement Section, Heads of the Village and communities. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observation and documentation. Miles and Huberman's interactive data analysis techniques. To achieve the validity of the data in this study, researchers used participation extension and triangulation. Based on the results of research to identify the first problem are the communicator strategies in the socialization of the Aksi Pekanbaru Bersih, namely the sub-sector of Capacity Building, Information and Environmental Communication and the sub-sector of Law Enforcement. The strategy for determining the audience is the sub-district, sub-district, RT / RW, school and university as well as the entire community of Pekanbaru City. Communication messages delivered are in the form of informative and persuasive messages with language that is easy to understand. The media used are print media, electronic media, online media, outdoor media and social media. Then related to the effects of this socialization, people only experience changes in knowledge and have not seen changes in behavior from the community. Keyword : Communication Strategy, socialization, Pekanbaru City
