Abstract

This paper will explain the environmental impact of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) cooperation in Pakistan 2016-2019. BRI in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) focuses on investment in energy and infrastructure of transportation. The cooperation began in 2015 with 21 energy sector projects, 24 transportation infrastructure projects, 9 special economic zone (SEZ), 14 Gwadar projects, 27 socio-economic development projects, and 3 public sector development projects. A total of 69% of the 21 energy projects comes from coal energy projects without environmentally friendly. Deforestation has also occurred since 2016, as a result of which there has been increasing in carbon emissions that affect the melting of glaciers in Pakistan. Deforestation also causes to be threatened to the quantity of biodiversity. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques with literature studies (document analysis). The theory of this research uses Green Political Theory by Andrew Dobson, which is identical with two approaches, namely the rejection of anthropocentrism and growth restriction on the nature of the environmental crisis. The result of this research are CPEC has responsibilities for the increase in carbon emissions by 369,457.2 MTCO2e- which comes from coal energy. Deforestation of 1,362,500 hectares in Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and southwestern Pakistan and led to a glacier melting rate of 0.66 m/yr. In addition, deforestation has also caused of threatened extinction to 10 species of mammals in Pakistan. Keywords: BRI, CPEC, Pakistan, Enviroment, China, Emision

Abstract

This research was conducted in Nagari Limo Kaum, Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra Province with the aim of knowing the traditional activities of hunting pigs in Nagari Limo Kaum and the social capital contained in the Limo Kaum pig hunting group. This research uses descriptive qualitative research method. Data collection through interview, observation, and documentation techniques. The results showed that the activity of hunting pigs went through three stages. The first stage before the activity was carried out by deliberation and inviting pig hunters. The implementation stage includes the peak of hunting for pigs in the forest, the process of bathing dogs in the river, hunters go to the hunting location until they wait for the game to start, start hunting activities, rest breaks to move hunting locations. The last stage is the post-hunting stage for pig hunters and the committee. The social capital found in the pig hunting group in Nagari Limo Kaum is the network that exists in the Limo Kaum pig hunting group, namely good relations between members and networks with outside parties to build cooperation to achieve the same goal. Trust itself is formed among fellow members of hunting pigs because of the same hobby and trust in helping in every activity carried out as well as trust from outside parties in helping in every activity. Values and norms are important things to be maintained by every member of the hog hunting because the norm is something that is not written and is obeyed by every member if they violate the agreed rules, they will get a warning in the form of a warning. Abstract

Hotel Novotel Pekanbaru is one of the best four-star hotels in Pekanbaru with a strategic location. Has a bar called Molecule Gastro Bar which provides excellent beverage service, as evidenced by the small number of guest complaints against Molecule Gastro Bar Novotel Pekanbaru compared to several other hotels. The implementation of these services is carried out by the waiter in accordance with the standards that have been applied. The standard is when before the bar is opened, the bar is opened and the bar is closed. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation and the obstacles that occurred during the process of the waitress working procedure. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach to describe the actual situation by collecting information data directly from the field. The key informants of this research are FBM Novotel Pekanbaru, Restaurant Supervisor, Bar Supervisor, Bartender and Waitress. This study uses the technique of collecting observations, interviews and documentation. From the results of this study, it can be seen that the implementation of the bar waiter's work procedures has been running well in accordance with the SOPs that have been determined to be followed so that operations can run well. Keywords: Implementation, SOP, Bar, service, waiter

Abstract

Export is the sale of a commodity to another country with conditions that have been adjusted to the wishes and tastes of buyers in the export target market. Indonesia and Japan are increasingly marked by the cooperative relationship between the two countries in the economic field, namely batik exports. The Indonesian government is at the forefront of efforts to market batik to Japan. This research theoretically uses qualitative research methods. Then the theory of competitive advantage is in accordance with Porter’s indicators (Porter’s Diamond Model). Batik product are an important factor for Indonesia in trade between Indonesia and Japan. The competitive advantage is known as the industry’s national competitive advantage. Given the above background, the author uses the concept of competition policy where the policy encourages the encouragement of economic resouces throught a healty market mechanism. As for the research results from this thesis, the efforts made in country in marketing its commodities to Japan are in accordance with Porter’s theory of competitive advantage, namely factor conditions, demand conditions, related ad supporting industries, firm strategy, structure and rivalry. Indonesian batik product have a competitive advantage with the government’s role and opportunity, namely the role of the Indonesian government in an effort to increase the value of Indonesian batik exports to Japan. In an effort to increase Japanese people’s interest in Indonesian batik. The Indonesian government was able to carry out the assessment despite experiencing several challenges and obstacles. Abstract

The phenomenon of hoax news is increasingly troubling the public, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic in early 2020. As a new term, of course, many people are looking for information about Covid-19. This is what is used by irresponsible parties to spread hoaxes related to Covid-19. WhatsApp is the social media with the longest total duration used and also the social media that is considered the most worrying related to the spread of the Covid-19 hoax. This study aims to find out how the perception of Riau University Communication Science students regarding the Covid-19 vaccine hoax news on WhatsApp social media, what are the factors that affect perception, and how students' knowledge and understanding of hoax news. This research uses descriptive analysis with qualitative research types. Data collection uses observation, interview and documentation methods. The research subject focused on students majoring in Communication Sciences, Riau University class of 2021 who had received digital literacy classes. The key informants numbered 5 people, with the method of selecting informants using purpossive sampling. The data collection technique uses a fixed comparison analysis technique, while the data validity check uses the triangulation method. The results showed that the perception of Riau University Communication Science students class of 2021 regarding the Covid-19 vaccine hoax news was that most informants perceived that this phenomenon was disappointing and troubling because there are still many people who cannot distinguish which news is true and which is a hoax. All informants can recognize that the information they get is a hoax and do not believe the information. The factors affecting perception are divided into two, namely the experience factor and the perceived object. Students' knowledge and understanding can be concluded that students can describe the definition of hoax correctly, the characteristics of hoaxes, and how to overcome the phenomenon of the rise of hoaxes. The students considered that the rise of hoaxes in Indonesia could not be separated from the problem of low public literacy and lack of education about the hoax itself. Abstract

Supervision of Over dimension over loading Vehicles on the Indragiri Hulu Cross Road is a step taken by the Riau Provincial Transportation Service to anticipate and prevent violations in driving, especially on Over dimension over loading vehicles. The purpose of this study is to find out how the Over dimension over loading Vehicle Supervision works on the Indragiri Hulu Highway, as well as to determine the inhibiting factors of the implementation of supervision. This study uses the theory of supervision by Manullang (2015) which is seen based on the time of its implementation in the form of preventive supervision and repressive supervision. This study uses a qualitative research type with a descriptive approach. The results of the research from Over dimension over loading Vehicle Supervision have not run optimally. The inhibiting factor in the implementation of Over dimension over loading Vehicle Supervision is the lack of budget given to carry out field supervision activities and the lack of understanding of drivers in driving which causes less than optimal implementation of Over dimension over loading Vehicle Supervision on the Indragiri Hulu Highway. Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic that is happening globally, of course, has an impact on various sectors, especially in the economic sector. The Pekanbaru City Government (Pemko) has determined that Pekanbaru is responding to the Covid-19 emergency. . This has an impact on micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) which automatically lose their income due to the restrictions imposed. In Pekanbaru City, around 7,888 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) experienced a decline in turnover during the Covid-19 pandemic. In conditions like this, MSME business actors must be able to follow what consumers want. The purpose of the study was to determine the implementation of the UMKM Empowerment Program (BPUM) during the Covid-19 pandemic by the Pekanbaru City Cooperatives and UKM Office based on 4 indicators of policy implementation from George C. Edward III, namely Communication, Resources, Disposition and Bureaucratic Structure. The research method used in this study is a descriptive research method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The problem studied in this study was the MSME Empowerment Program during the Covid-19 Pandemic in Pekanbaru City which was run by the Pekanbaru City Cooperatives and SMEs Office based on the Regulation of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the MSME empowerment program (BPUM) in Pekanbaru City during the Covid-19 pandemic still did not run according to its goal, namely equal distribution of assistance for all MSME actors. Judging from the Communication indicators, where the implementation has been communicative, from the Resources indicator, the readiness of the planned implementation funds in the APBN is appropriate. Meanwhile, from the Disposition indicator, the policies at the Pekanbaru City Cooperatives and SMEs Office in the context of implementing the program that was launched have not been able to touch the whole community. SMEs in Pekanbaru City because not all SMEs receive BPUM assistance. From the indicators of the bureaucratic structure, the implementation has been very good. Diskop conducts training in accordance with the requirements of good health protocols. The hope in the future is equal distribution of empowerment and assistance for MSME actors affected by the Covid-19 Pandemic. Keywords : Empowerment, SMEs, Covid-19 Pandemic.

Abstract

Client Patron Relationship between Tauke and Farmer in Sungai Langsat Village, the tauke was the patron and the farmer was the client. The boss was usually someone who had large capital and also had responsibility for the crops of the farmers who were his clients. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the tauke and oil palm farmers in Sungai Langsat Village, whether the patron-client requirements had been met and how the relationship between the tauke and oil palm farmers in Sungai Langsat Village was. In this study, the author used the patron-client theory proposed by James Scott which stated that the patron-client requirements consisted of personal relationships, loyalty relationships and reciprocal relationships. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The research subjects of this study consisted of one key informant and six informants. The results obtained from this study were that the relationship between tauke and oil palm farmers in Sungai Langsat Village was a patron-client relationship. This could be seen from the relationship between the tauke and oil palm farmers in Sungai Langsat Village, there were personnel relationships, loyalty relationships and reciprocity relationships. There were three forms of relationship between the tauke and the oil palm farmers, which were used by researchers to determine the form of the patron client relationship between the tauke and oil palm farmers in Sungai Langsat Village, namely the form of exploitative relationships, forms of cooperative relationships and forms of symbiotic mutualism relationships. Abstract

The influence of Covid-19 has greatly impacted the world of hospitality, many hotels in Indonesia are currently experiencing a slump, including hotels in the city of Pekanbaru. One of the four-star hotels in the city of Pekanbaru is the Grand Elite Hotel Pekanbaru which is located at Jl. Riau, Riau Business Center Complex, Pekanbaru City. Hotel room cleanliness is the top priority and the best service. In this case the role of the room attendant is very important. Each room attendant job is carried out through certain established procedures. Therefore, this study aims to find out regarding the implementation of room service by the room attendant during the covid-19 period at the Grand Elite Pekanbaru hotel and what obstacles hinder the work of the room attendant in implementing room service at the Grand Elite Hotel Pekanbaru. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method to analyze problems based on data collection techniques in the form of observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Based on the results of research on the implementation of room service by room attendants during the covid-19 pandemic at the Grand Elite Pekanbaru hotel, it has gone well starting from managing rooms, serving guests, carrying out supervisor orders, collaborating with fellow friends in one section, collaborating with other sections. in one department, cooperate with other sections and other departments. But of course there are also obstacles in the implementation of room service by the room attendant itself such as the cleanliness of the linen which makes the room attendant's work speed not optimal, then the obstacle that is also often faced is cross-department work that is less than optimal but these obstacles can be overcome properly. Abstract

Food and Beverage Product (Kitchen Department) is one of the departments in the hotel that has a very large role. This section is in charge of providing food for hotel guests. The quality of the food produced must be improved. Therefore, every hotel must have a strategy to improve the quality of the food that will be produced. This study aims to determine the quality of food products by the kitchen epartment at the Grand Jatra Hotel Pekanbaru. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The data collection techniques used were observation, documentation, and interviews with the Executive Chef and Chef de Partie Grand Jatra Hotel Pekanbaru. After conducting interviews with informants, the authors conclude that the quality of food products produced by the kitchen department can be said to be good. But the kitchen department must further improve the quality of its food products so that it can satisfy guests who enjoy it. Keywords : Quality, Food, Kitchen department
