Abstract

Gender-based violence that victimizes women occurs all over the world. Cases of gender inequality in the Northern Triangle of Central America (NTCA) are more concerning because of discrimination and even femicide. Given the severity of the cases that occur, it is necessary to research the role of UN Women in overcoming cases of femicide both emotionally, character, and physically. The research method used in this research is qualitative with data collection techniques through document analysis and femicide graph data through ECLAC, the Gender Equality Observatory for Latin America and the Caribbean which explains femicide cases that occur in the NTCA region. This research uses international organization theory to explain how UN Women's role in the dynamics of femicide escalation in NTCA and the concept of gender-based violence to explain how violence has occurred in the region. The results of this study show that the role of UN Women is still insignificant to femicide cases. UN Women took steps through several campaigns to sensitize the local community, provide guidance through various programs to realize better gender equality, invite local governments to form legislation to ensnare perpetrators of violence. As well as, empowering women through providing opportunities for women in various sectors such as education, economy, social and politics. Abstract

This research was conducted in Koto Lubuk Jambi Village, Kuantan Mudik District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. This research discusses the Posyandu for the Elderly which was imple-mented to help provide several health services for the elderly in Koto Lubuk Jambi Village, Kuantan Mudik District, Kuantan Singingi Regency to help improve the standard of healthy living and welfare for the elderly. This research aims to (1) determine the function of the el-derly posyandu institution in Koto Lubuk Jambi Village and (2) the effectiveness of elderly activities in Koto Lubuk Jambi Village. This research uses qualitative research methods with 6 informants as research subjects taken based on predetermined criteria. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that there are two functions in the elderly posyandu. These functions are manifest functions and latent functions. Manifest function is a purpose and intentional impact of a social phenomenon. Meanwhile, a latent or hidden function is a func-tion whose abilities and potential are not yet fully manifested or clearly visible, but which emerge and develop in certain conditions and situations. Abstract

This study discusses the Anti-Dowry Program implemented by United Nations Women in India from 2016 to 2018. The data collection method used is a literature study, with secondary data collection from literature relevant to the problem under study, such as books, journals, newspapers, and internet sources. The research approach used is qualitative, with the aim of understanding the phenomena experienced by research subjects holistically and descriptively in the form of words. The Anti-Dowry Program aims to address the serious problem of dowry practices that are still ongoing in India. This practice has had a negative impact on gender equality, women's rights and family life. During the research period, United Nations Women has worked closely with the Indian government and various agencies to eradicate this practice. This research reveals that the Anti-Dowry Program has achieved some significant results. First, through an intensive public awareness campaign, the program succeeded in raising awareness about the issue of dowry and its adverse effects. Second, the program has strengthened laws and regulations related to dowry, thereby providing stronger legal protections for women. Abstract

This research aims to determine the factors that influence the performance of roomboys at Turi Beach Resort Batam. This research uses a qualitative method with a qualitative descriptive approach to describe and explain the situation that occurred by collecting data and information in the field. The key informants in this research are SPV Room and Roomboy employees. In this research, the data collection techniques used were interviews, observation and documentation. Based on the research results, it can be concluded. Romboy Turi Beach Resort Batam has six factors that influence Roomboy performance, namely work equipment, skills and experience, building shape, room facilities, room cleaning techniques and supervision. Of these six factors, the average respondent strongly agrees that these factors influence the performance of Roomboy at Turi Beach Resort Batam. However, there was one factor where the informants did not agree, namely the room facilities factor, but only one informant disagreed out of the four informants. The building shape factor really influences the performance of Roomboy at Turi Beach Resort Batam because Turi Beach Resort Batam is famous for its building shape and the distance between rooms is quite far. This makes Roomboys have a bit of a problem, especially Roomboys who are quite old because they get tired easily when cleaning from one room to another. Keywords: Factors, Performance, Turi Beach

Abstract

Community Empowerment in Siberobah Village, Gunung Toar District, Kuantan Singingi Regency in 2021 is an element of community development in the economic and political fields that is centered on the people. The aim of the research is to describe community empowerment in Siberobah Village and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors for the community empowerment program in Siberobah Village. This type of research is qualitative. The type of research data used in this research is primary data in the form of data and information originating from primary sources and research informants, and secondary data in the form of documents obtained from related documents. The research location is Siberobah Village. Forms of village community empowerment activities can be in the form of providing goods, agricultural seeds/seeds, fisheries, plantations and trade because the Siberobah Village community has rich potential in natural resources, especially in the plantation sector. The result of this research is that there is an Empowerment program for the Siberobah village community using a fairly large village budget in its implementation. However, there is still a lack of knowledge among the Siberobah village community regarding how to properly plant and care for oil palms and a lack of role for the village government in evaluating village farmer groups. This is indicated by the absence of supervisors who assess the activities of the Siberobah village farmer group which will be an obstacle to reach the community empowerment. Abstract

The presence of a partner with the AMAN jargon is an attraction in itself compared to other couples. This is Afrizal Sintong-H. Sulaiman is an energetic young couple from another couple, and it is certain that his energetic young spirit builds a more advanced Rokan Hilir. This study aims to determine political communication and use of media campaigns by Afrizal Sintong-H. Sulaiman in the 2020 election for the Regional Head of Rokan Hilir Regency. This research is a descriptive qualitative research using data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman models. The results of the study stated that the communicators were the Regent and Deputy Regent, the Community Success Team (parents) and the Community (millennials). The results of this study indicate that the political communication of Afrizal Sintong-H. Sulaiman in the 2020 election for the Regional Head of Rokan Hilir Regency; Use verbal and nonverbal communication. Abstract

The Covid-19 (Corona Virus Disease-19) pandemic has hit the world since the end of 2019 then this virus entered Indonesia since the beginning of 2020. For approximately 2 years the Covid-19 Pandemic has caused many disasters in various sectors of life, one of which is the food sector. The impact that occurs is ranging from fluctuations in food prices to disruption of food distribution due to various policies implemented by the government. Therefore, the Pekanbaru City Government through the Food Security Office is building community food security with three strategies to anticipate food insecurity in emergency response efforts during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The Covid-19 pandemic is still in a high category but food production and distribution activities continue to run. This research aims to find out the strategy of the Government of Pekanbaru inining food security during the Covid-19 pandemic and what factors hinder the Government strategy in keeping food security in the time of the COVID-19 Pandemic in 2020. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. In data collection, the writer uses interviewing and documentation techniques. The results of this study show that the strategy of the Government of Pekanbaru inining food resilience during the Covid-19 pandemic is the socialization of KWT/KT, building or providing governmental stimulus assistance in the field of food security for KWT /KT, monitoring of the distribution of aid to KWT, and evaluating the implementation of the Strategy of the Governments in keeping food security in the time of the COVID-19 Pandemic. As for the strategy carried out by the Department of Food Resilience, it is possible to know from the number of recipients of the program more safe food than those in the food vulnerability category. With regard to internal impediment factors, refocusing the budget due to the presence of the Covid-19 pandemic and external impediments, such as adaptation related to the understanding of KWT/KT activities, optimization of land utilization, lack of attention to KWT /KT, as well as lack of information obtained by KWT on the development of the Food Housing Area (KRPL) and the mining activities of Food Self-Government. Abstract

Women are an integral part of a society, including in poor communities. Women have the same potential as men to contribute to community development. But in reality, women are still not given a more role, even marginalized. Non-governmental organizations such as LPESM as one of the important elements in society that can help realize women’s empowerment. In essence poverty can start from low access to education causes low economic access. Which ultimately leads to poverty. Socialization is carried out that people are more enthusiastic about developing their business and preserving the environtment so that it remains green. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method. Data collection was carried out in this study in the form of diract observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. In conducting interviews, the informants were members of LPESM. Interpretation of data is carried out in stages starting from data collection, data reduction to conclusions. And the results of research that can be an alternative for villagers who want to develop ther businesses. And the inhibiting factors of LPESM in carrying mindsets and the difficulty of finding free time for housewives. Keywords: Women’s Empowerment, institution, role

Abstract

More than a hundred countries are developing cyber military capacity to strengthen security even attack other countries. On 2-24, 2022, Russia launched an invasion of Ukraine in every area of warfare including cyberspace. Russian hackers have initiated attacks on many Ukrainian websites since the beginning of the invasion making government web pages and online banking services inaccessible to the public. This research is a descriptive qualitative with data sources coming from Ukrainian government websites, international organizations and related publications. This paper uses a neorealist perspective with the concept of the Global Cybersecurity Agenda at the country level of analysis within the scope of 2016-2022. The changes can be seen from the renewal of Ukraine's defense strategy which also focuses on the realm of cybersecurity, Ukraine established a special institution that works in the realm of cybersecurity and Ukraine formed international cooperation with NATO in building a national cyber defense system. Ukraine already has several frameworks in place related to cybersecurity. In early 2016, the government approved the first Cybersecurity Strategy of Ukraine. It later issued a second version (Strategy 2020), after which both regulations were canceled with the adoption of Presidential Decree No. 447/2021. Abstract

Koneng Beach is one of the seaside tourist destinations in Medang Kampai District, Dumai City. An area that faces directly with Malaysia with attractive aquatic tourism potential. Starting in 2017, Koneng Beach has been successfully visited by thousands of visitors. This research was conducted in the Koneng Dumai Beach Tourist Destination, Medang Kampai District, Dumai City, this research aims to find out the Role of the Community in Koneng Beach Tourist Destination. The research method that will be used in this study is Qualitative with the type of Grounded Research. Data collection was carried out by observation and interview methods by interviewing several local people living around Koneng Beach. Through interviews conducted with 4 Informants, it was found that 3 roles of the community in the Koneng Dumai Beach tourist destination are: 1) Tourism Services, 2) Environmental Conservation, 3) Field Officer.
