Abstract

Japan is a developed country with the 4th economic level in the world, but in terms of gender equality Japan ranks 125th out of 146 countries in 2023. This places Japan as the country with the lowest level of gender equality in the Asia Pacific. Despite having ratified CEDAW since 1985, Japan has not been able to show significant progress in gender equality. This research analyses the barriers that make it difficult for the Japanese government to implement CEDAW. High gender gaps in political empowerment and participation opportunities in the economy are factors in Japan's low ranking. The research method used in this study is qualitative research, with a literature study data collection method through relevant writings such as journal articles, government reports, international organization reports, etc. The research was conducted using a constructivist perspective. The research was conducted using constructivism perspective and international norm implementation theory to analyze the implementation of CEDAW in Japan. The results show two factors that have hampered Japan's implementation of CEDAW, namely cultural factors and the Government of Japan. The embedded patriarchal culture makes it difficult for people to accept CEDAW. Government policies issued on CEDAW are not followed by clear mechanisms and sanctions. Resistance by culture and lack of government assertiveness caused the implementation of CEDAW to be hampered in Japan. Keywords: Implementation, Japan, CEDAW, Economy, Gender equality

Abstract

The implementation of the empowerment function of the Gumanti Village government on the facilitator indicator, and the implementation of the development function of the Gumanti Village government on the innovator indicator and the implementation of the village government function is the responsibility for the implementation of development, empowerment and services. Village government is the organization of village government affairs and community interests. In the field, several problems were found, such as damaged roads in hamlet III, weak village community development and long service times. This research was conducted to see how the implementation of the Gumanti Village government function was carried out and to find out the factors that became obstacles and supporting factors for the implementation of the Gumanti Village government function. The research approach used is a qualitative approach. This type of research is descriptive. The location of this research is in Gumanti Village, Peranap District, Indragiri Hulu Regency. The types and sources of data for this research are divided into primary data and secondary data with data collection techniques through interviews and secondary data in the form of village archives and village data. The results of this study are the implementation of the government function of Gumanti Village, Peranap District, Indragiri Hulu Regency is not optimal, there are still several indicators that still need to be improved, in the implementation of the government service function of Gumanti Village there are indicators of efficiency, effectiveness, and competence. Furthermore, the implementation of modernizers. Meanwhile, indicators that have been running well are indicators of equality, motivators and stabilizers. Factors that hinder the implementation of the Gumanti Village government function are lack of community participation, inactive village websites, electricity that always goes out and lack of human resources. Abstract

The implementation of the Dumai City Transportation Service goods terminal function as a road transportation infrastructure for the purposes of unloading and loading goods solves problems due to the circulation and movement of goods transport as well as intra and/or inter-modal movements of transportation. Everyone has needs that must be met but these needs cannot be met directly. Fulfillment of these needs must go through the process of logistics activities, namely planning, organizing, and controlling the flow of materials and services from suppliers to final users. In order to support these activities, road transport traffic must be created that is safe, comfortable, orderly, organized and efficient. The purpose of this study is to find out the Implementation of the Goods Terminal Function by the Dumai City Transportation Service in 2019 using a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The research location is at the Dumai City Transportation Service. In collecting data, the writer uses interview and documentation techniques. The results of the study explain that in the Implementation of the Dumai City Transportation Service Goods Terminal, directly or indirectly it has an effect on people's lives individually and in groups. The positive effects that can be felt by the community are more orderly traffic around cross roads, and reduced damage on cross roads . However, the negative effect that is felt by the community is that the community is disturbed by the large amount of palm shell waste scattered on the streets. Abstract

Improving service quality will have a positive impact on the company to increase customer trust and increase customer loyalty to the company. This research aims to determine the quality of service at dance drama performances in one of the famous tourist destinations in Yogyakarta. Performed at the Ramayana Ballet Prambanan Theater and Performance Unit in Yogyakarta. This research applies a quantitative descriptive approach and uses data collection techniques such as observation, questionnaires and documentation. The results of this research are the identification of service quality that needs to be implemented: professional experience, service quality qualifications as indicated by survey results, accuracy of service delivery to visitors. Ramayana Ballet Prambanan has achieved excellent service quality as seen from direct evidence, reliability, responsiveness, empathy and guarantees provided to visitors. Abstract

A negative self-image can lead to low self-confidence, whereas a positive self-image can lead to a positive response. This trend has led to a shift in the perception of the term, with university students showing a higher interest in appearance, self-care, and modern lifestyles. Riau University, a leading university in Riau Province, is a prime example of this trend, with its students focusing on appearance and fitness as well as a positive self-image. This study aims to determine the activities, motivations, and self-image formation of students through body care and fitness activities using the approaches of Symbolic Interactionism Theory by George Herbert Mead, Hyperreality by Jean Baudrillard, and Lifestyle Theory by Kotler and Keller. The subjects selected in this study were six informants and one triangulator using the purposive sampling technique. This type of research is field research and uses a qualitative approach by Miles and Huberman. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation The results of this study indicate that the media plays an important role in motivating individuals to achieve goals and influencing self-image and self-perception. The media industry, including social and intellectual media, influences self-perception through various factors, such as social status, family, and personal experience. The media aims to create products and services that promote self-perception, helping individuals achieve an idealized self-image. Keywords: Self-Image, Metrosexual, Media.

Abstract

In this research, there are several problematic phenomena raised in 2022 regarding Government Law Enforcement regarding the Implementation of Nightlife in Pekanbaru City in 2022 regarding the public's unrest regarding the "Gold Dragon" nightlife venue which is still operational until the early hours of the morning and has committed many violations of regulations. Pekanbaru City Regional (PERDA) Number 13 of 2021 concerning Public Order and Community Peace. So the public asks the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) and the Government to carry out strict and intensive supervision in monitoring the abundance of nightlife in Pekanbaru City which is currently thriving. So this role is of course the authority of the Government for Satpol PP in supervising and implementing applicable law enforcement. Not only that, the imposition of sanctions, administrative fines, revocation of business permits for business owners (night entertainment) must be even stricter and the sanctions greater in order to have a deterrent effect on these business actors. This research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The types of data used are primary data and secondary data, primary data is obtained directly from informants, while secondary data is data that supports or strengthens primary data. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of interviews and documentation. The results of this research show that Government Law Enforcement and the Implementation of Satpol PP's duties in controlling night entertainment businesses in the City of Pekanbaru, especially the "Gold Dragon" night entertainment, are running as they should, but there are deficiencies in the work process carried out by the Pekanbaru City Satpol PP starting from the actions taken. continuation of the reports received, there is a lack of supervision over night entertainment, so the Government's role in enforcing existing laws must be stricter, starting from Revocation of Licenses or Sealing of Businesses, Imposing Sanctions, and Administrative Fines. Abstract

Rural development requires involvement between the government and the community from planning to implementation of the development. The commitment to equitable development between regions is included in the policy of accelerating the development of underdeveloped regions. Based on data from the Village Development Index, the number of very underdeveloped villages in Kampar Regency in 2022 is 23 villages, the majority of which are in Kampar Kiri Hulu District. Therefore, this study aims to determine the political will of kampar district government towards the development of very underdeveloped vilage in 2022. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques including interview and documentation techniques. Then, the data analysis technique uses a qualitative descriptive analysis technique which includes data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The location of this study is in Kampar Regency, Riau Province. This study uses the political will theory from Brinkerhoff (2010), to determine political will consisting of several indicators. The indicators are government initiatives, priority policy/program choices, mobilization of parties, public commitment and resource allocation, business sustainability, and learning and adaptation. The results of this study indicate that Will of the Kampar Regency Government for the Development of Very Underdeveloped Villages in 2022 is still not optimal. Essentially, the implementation of development programs in the Kampar Regency Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) for 2017-2022 is still not optimal due to limited funding sources and the lack of collaboration between the government and third parties. The Kampar Government's efforts to eliminate the status of very underdeveloped villages and increase them to developing villages are by intervening in the IDM value. Abstract

This research analyzes the role of Human Rights Watch (HRW) in Religious Conflict in India 2019-2022. Longing religion conflict become a serious problems for citizens of India,especially Indian Moeslem and international citizens. On December, 12nd. 2019, Indian government in Modi and Bharatiya Janaya Party (BJP) had passed the Indian Citizenship Act 2019 which is an amendment to the Citizenship Act 1955 which regulates the entry of immigrants from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh based on the religion authorized in the Act. These include: Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, Christians, Jains and Parsis before 2015. However, the exclusion of Islam from the law caused massive protests throughout India. This research uses Qualitative methods, collection techniques through literature studies sourced from several books, journals, articles, websites, etc. This study also uses the perspective of constructivism and the Theory of International Organization. This research indicates that HRW has played a major role in the religious conflict in India by making investigative reports and reporting the results of his findings to the world, including the United Nations. Despite HRW has had a significant impact on the religious conflicts that occur in India, The Indian government actually refused to admit its actions and threatened HRW for interfering too much in its domestic affairs. Abstract

Fashion and clothing are used as the delivery of non-verbal messages about one's self to others. It also makes how Thrift fashion enthusiasts communicate themselves when wearing Thrift fashion. Various kinds of assumptions about Thrift attract the attention of researchers to dig deeper into the meaning of fashion as communication in fashion Thrift. This research is a descriptive qualitative research using data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman models. The results of this study indicate that because of motives that influence FISIP University of Riau students to use Fashion Thrift in their daily style are social environment factors, social media or mass media and places close to secondhand shops. Abstract

The hearing impaired are those who experience disturbances in their hearing organs, resulting in an inability to hear, ranging from mild to very severe levels, classified as deaf and hard of hearing. SLB Yayasan Amal Bhakti is an educational institution specifically designed to provide education to children with special needs, including hearing-impaired children, to train their speaking and communication skills. Therefore, teachers need to use appropriate communication patterns and instructional communication methods suitable to the students' conditions. The purpose of this study is to analyze the communication patterns that occur between teachers and hearing-impaired students and to analyze the forms of teaching methods between teachers and hearing-impaired students at SLB Yayasan Amal Bhakti Sicincin, Padang Pariaman Regency. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods and uses George Harbert Mead's Symbolic Interaction theory. The informants in this study were six people, including the school principal, one teacher who taught deaf students, two deaf students and two guardians of deaf students who were selected based on certain requirements using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique uses interactive analysis according to Miles and Huberman, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The data validity techniques used are extended participation and triangulation. The results of the study show that there are three communication patterns used by teachers at SLB Yayasan Amal Bhakti to facilitate the learning process, communication, and interaction with hearing-impaired students: one-way communication, two-way communication, and multi-way communication patterns. There are four teaching methods used by teachers in the learning process of students, which are using instructional communication methods, namely the lecture method, individual practice, and the researcher also found the competition method used by teachers at the school.
