Abstract

The main kitchen is the main kitchen in a hotel, but in hotel operations the kitchen plays a very important role, because the main task of the kitchen is to process food and drinks, from raw ingredients until they are ready to be served to guests. Based on the pre-survey that has been carried out, to date there are still problems that arise due to several chef performance factors including: Food that is not salty enough/too salty, the food menu is just ordinary, food is served late, drinks are not sweet enough, service takes a long time. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects in this research were 3 people, including 2 chefs and 1 customer. Data collection techniques use interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis techniques use data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The research results show that in improving the performance of the Main Kitchen chef at FOX Hotel Pekanbaru, he has various abilities in an effort to improve performance at FOX Hotel Pekanbaru, including: 1. Core abilities: a) Improving cleanliness, b) Understanding tasks, c) Carrying out job evaluations, d) Prepare menus. 1. Personal abilities: a) Building work relationships, b) Managing work time. 3) Ability to overcome external problems: a) Ability to overcome obstacles, b) Handle complaints, c) Deal with pressure Keywords:Chef Role, Performance.

Abstract

The existence of a silver man has become a phenomenon, in almost every red light in Pekanbaru City there is a silver man in action. Working to become a silver human for some people is a form of maintaining life in poverty. Even though you have to take a dangerous risk because painting your whole body with paint has dangerous risks. That's because the paint commonly used on silver humans is a textile dye. Which can cause itching and irritation and even cancer of the skin. This study aims to find out how the motives, meaning of work as a silver human being, and the communication experience of someone who works as a silver human being in Pekanabru City. This study uses a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach. The research informants consisted of 5 people who were silver people in Pekanbaru City who were selected using a random sampling technique. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. This study uses interactive data analysis techniques which include three stages, namely data collection, data presentation and drawing conclusions. From the results of the study it can be seen that Silver's human motives consist of because motives which include demands to meet needs and entertain. And in order to motive is for the economy and solicitation of friends. Next is the meaning of silver human work is a source of income (main job) and as a part time job. And the silver human communication experience is divided into the first 2 tangs of pleasant (positive) communication experiences including getting good friends, getting family support and getting a good response. Unpleasant (negative) experiences include being chased out and looked down upon, often almost having accidents and being caught in raids. Keywords: Enomenology, Symbolic Interaction, Silver Man

Abstract

The Duano tribe has similarities with the Malay tribe, namely in terms of physical appearance, way of dressing, traditional customs and religious practices. This form of equality can be said to be a shared inheritance from previous generations. The aspects that are often adapted are in terms of economic, political, socio-cultural activities and marital relations. The identification of the problem in this research is how the social structure of life, social relations, economic relations, of the Duano tribe and other tribes. The aim of this research is to find out the social structure of life, social relations, economic relations, of the Duano tribe and other tribes in the village. Belaras, Mandah District, Indragiri Hilir Regency. In this research, the researcher used a type of research with a descriptive qualitative research method with ethnographic studies. The ethnographic research method is included in the qualitative research group whose characteristics are "researching informants as research subjects in their daily environment. Based on field data, the researcher obtained data on the number of informants in this research, namely five people consisting of one village head, one Duano tribal head (traditional head), as key informants, and supporting informants, one village official, one village resident as additional informant, so that the data obtained from the informants is increasingly strengthened and accurate by the presence of supporting informants. Based on research results, changes in the Duano tribe's economy occurred because of a relationship that existed between the Duano tribe and other tribes who needed each other. then a group is a group, namely a number of people who have a relationship with each other and strata or social stratification is a social phenomenon that cannot possibly be avoided, meaning that it will be found in every society. from the research is that the government always pays attention to life in remote places so that it can always provide assistance to the lives of remote communities. Apart from the government always paying attention to the lives of remote communities, the community itself must have its own way of meeting its daily needs, so that in this way it can be considered as a policy maker. Abstract

Africans dispersed worldwide due to slavery. Since then, they have faced racism and discrimination, which persist to this day. Their prowess in the arts, particularly music, has been utilized as a tool for their struggle. This research explores how African people in America employ their musical cultural heritage in advocating for their rights within the Black Lives Matter social movement. To discuss their struggle, the Music and Social Movements approach by William F. Danaher was employed, which has proven to be quite effective in achieving the goals or interests of a group. Data was obtained through document analysis from books, national and international journal articles, news sources, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram posts related to the BLM movement. The research revealed that the utilization of artistic culture, especially music, involving artists and prominent individuals of African descent, resulted in positive results. Financial contributions, efforts, thoughts, and talents have boosted the spirit of African individuals residing in Western countries to advocate for their destinies. Their art, slogans, mottos, and spirit have elevated self-esteem and confidence, creating social, economic, educational, and political impacts. Abstract

Regency council member come from political parties which are elected trouugh the eletion. as the legislature regency parliament has a major role on the implementation of regional autonomy. As one political party, the PKS Kampar Regency participating in the 2019 election in Kampar Regency can be said to be successful because it was able to significantly increase the number of votes acquired and pass 5 people recruited as legislative candidates from the quota of 45 seats for members of the Kampar Regency DPRD. This was assessed because of the success of political recruitment carried out by PKS. So that this study aims to look at the stages of recruitment of legislative candidates carried out by the PKS DPD in the 2019 elections in Kampar Regency. This research is descriptive research approach with several informants selected using purposive sampling technique. The location of this research was conducted in Kampar Regency. The data collection techniques carried out are through interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique used is an interactive analysis model, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification. These results of the study concluded that based on the observations and analysis of the researcher is 1). The stages of recruiting candidates for legislative members from PKS in the 2019 general elections in Kampar Regency are as follows: a). The preparation stage, Kampar Regency PKS was able to form 21 PKS DPC management at the sub-district level. b). At the screening (certification) stage, PKS did not put forward any special requirements, but registration information was distributed privately to each DPC so that only party members knew. Then the external party was proposed by the DPC. Then PKS can be said to use closed recruitment. C). At the nomination stage, PKS formed a winning team for the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) election chaired by Tamarudin, S.Pd.I. d). At the election stage, the results of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) DPD in Kampar Regency were ratified without any changes by the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Riau Province DPW. 2). Factors influencing the recruitment of Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) legislative candidates can be concluded, among others, due to the effects of the presidential and vice-presidential elections or the presidential election effect and the way the PKS DPD recruits potential legislative candidates and qualified regeneration. Abstract

Nepal is a landlocked country in the South Asian region that has abundant resources and beautiful scenery. One of the natural products that has the potential to become an export product is chyangra pashmina. This pashmina is made from the finest wool of the stomach and neck hair of the Himalayan goat which is commonly called chyangra. This goat fiber is claimed to be “Diamond Fiber” and “Soft Gold of High Asia” because it has very soft, light and smooth fibers so that Nepalese Pashmina is considered a luxury item. However, this success did not last long because India and China, which are Nepal’s main competitors, flooded the market with pashmina which had low prices and quality. This makes the high quality Nepalese Pashmina lose its image. Seeing this situation, the government of Nepal took steps to restore Nepal’s pashmina image and increase its competitiveness in the global market by making relevant policies through Nepal Trade Integration Strategy (NTIS) 2016. In this qualitative research using data collection techniques that come from books, journals, theses, official documents, reports and websites that have relevance to research. This study also uses a mercantilism perspective with the level of nation-state analysis, as well as the theory of comparative advantage and the concept of national interest. The results of this study indicate the strategy of the Nepalese government to increase the competitiveness of chyangra pashmina in the global market which can be grouped into 3 aspects, namely: 1) improving quality and market in line with the development of the chyangra pashmina trademark; 2) improving human resources through various training related to management and skills; 3) increasing facilities and cooperation with other parties through increasing the number of chyangra goat farms and entering into trade investment aggrements. Abstract

Umrah is one of the recommended acts of worship in Islam. It is impossible for everyone to be able to travel long distances by themselves, so a guide is needed who can make their pilgrimage easier, namely by using an Umrah travel agency. One of the Umrah travel agents in Pekanbaru is PT. Amanah Travel can make it easier for people to carry out the Umrah pilgrimage without any obstacles. If you want to carry out the Umrah pilgrimage then people can use the available Umrah hajj travel services. PT. Amanah Travel has a permit as an Umrah travel organizer with the RI Kemenang Decree number No. 67/2020. Its strategic location is located at Jl. Pope No. 127D, West Tangkerang Kel, kec. Marpoyan Damai, Pekanbaru City, Riau. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The research was carried out in June-December 2023. The results of this research were the implementation of promotions for Umrah tour packages at PT. Amanah Travel. The things contained in this research certainly make it easier for people to travel to the holy land so that their worship can be carried out comfortably, safely and without any obstacles. Abstract

Located on Kaharuddin Nasution Street, Simpang Tiga, Bukit Raya, in Pekanbaru City, Riau, there is a tourist destination called the Railway Monument and the Heroes’ Cemetery. An effective communication strategy is essential to attract tourists and promote this site. The purpose of this study is to identify the communication strategy used in promoting the Railway Monument and the Heroes’ Cemetery. This research employs Lasswell’s communication model combined with a qualitative research methodology. Purposive sampling techniques were used, with subjects including the Pekanbaru City Department of Culture and Tourism, the General Affairs Subsection, the Content Creator Section, the Creative Economy Cooperation Section, and the Head of the Tourism Attraction Development Section. Data collection methods included interviews and observations. Data analysis techniques involved data reduction, data explanation, and drawing conclusions. The data validity was verified using triangulation techniques. The research findings indicate that the communication strategy of the Pekanbaru City Department of Culture and Tourism, which involves promoting educational historical content on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and others, has been quite effective, as evidenced by the increase in visitors to the Railway Monument and the Heroes’ Cemetery from January to May 2024. with a total of 763 visitors to the site out of 859,016 visitors to all tourist attractions in Pekanbaru. This represents a 95.9% increase from the total number of visitors to the Railway Monument and the Heroes' Cemetery in 2023, which was 796 out of 1,457,874 visitors to all tourist attractions in Pekanbaru. Abstract

In this research, there are several problem phenomena that will be raised in 2022 in the performance of Satuan Polisi Pamong Praja (Satpol PP) Pekanbaru in responding to public reports submitted of pusat pelayanan pengaduan pelanggaran perda and perkada (P6), namely that there are reports that are not resolved so that the public makes complaints on online media, there were 7 reports that took longer to complete beyond the specified time, namely 14 working days, and the assessment of the Community Satisfaction Index (IKM) for the completion time element had the lowest average value (NRR) and decreased from the previous year. From the above phenomenon, the aim of this research is to determine the performance of Satpol PP in Pekanbaru City to responding public reports submitted to the pusat pelayanan pengaduan pelanggaran perda and perkada (P6) in 2022 and what the inhibiting factors are. This research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The types of data are primary data and secondary data, primary data is obtained directly from informants. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of interviews and documentation. The results of this research show that the performance of Satpol PP in Pekanbaru is running as it should, but there are deficiencies in each of the theoretical indicators used, starting from deficiencies in the quality of work, speed of work in the follow-up process, there is no transparency in accountability for incoming reports, the ability of service officers cannot be proven. according to qualifications and not provided with technical service training, as well as internal communication which is only carried out through report documents. There are inhibiting factors in the performance of Satpol PP, namely inadequate budgeting, lack of human resources (SDM) for the investigative unit, lack of operational vehicles and the signature process has not yet used digitalization so it still uses manual signatures. Abstract

Waste banks are one of the solutions for effective and sustainable waste management. This study aims to indentify and analyze the activites and challenges of Bank Sampah Inspirasi Madani in optimizing the function of waste banks. This research uses a qualitative research method. Data collection in this study involved direct observation, indepth interviews, and documentation. Subjects in this study amounted to 6 people. The result of this study show that Bank Sampah Inspirasi Madani has carried out various activities in optimizing the function of waste banks, including waste collection, waste sorting, waste sales, education and socialization, as well as collaboration with waste suppliers and buyers. This waste bank has also faced several challenges, including the lack of public awareness about the importance of waste management, insufficient members, and constraints in waste marketing. Despite these challenges, this waste bank has the potential to continue growing and providing significant benefits in waste management. Efforts to strengthen capabilities and improve coorperation between waste banks, the government, and the community are needed to achieve sustainable waste management goals.
