Abstract

This study is an elaborate study of the influence of Investment PT McDermott Indonesia for Batam Economic Growth after Special Economic Zone held at 2010-2013. The purpose of this study was to clarify the effect of foreign investment on economic growth in Batam. Based on the concept of Foreign Direct Investment and the Theory of Investment.According to Krugman is the Capital of Foreign Direct investment is the flow of international capital from a country where companies establish or expand his company in another country. Batam, Bintan and Karimun are as Special Economic Zone in 2006, SEZ is a cooperation in placing one zone or more what ever investment and trade activity are done without intervention by local government, in other word local government only facilitator for investor through decreasing tax.Results of this study found that investment by PT McDermott Indonesia to give effect to the some sectors of economic growth in Batam, among others, development of value investment in the facility oil and gas sector, increase local employment decrease local poorness. From these results, it can mean that direct foreign investment provides benefits to the economy growth to the communities in Batam both locally and to the Government of Indonesia.Keywords : Foreign Direct Investment, Economic Growth, Special Economic Zone

Abstract

Strategy Of Increasing Local Revenues (PAD) is interesting to study because an important factor in the implementation of regional autonomy as one of the government's success in organizing the financial management area. This study describe’s the government's strategy to increase revenue through local companies PD. Pelabuhan Dumai Bersemai.This study used a qualitative method and conducted in Dumai city. This study uses informants as sources of information objects that aims to achieve mastery in getting information. Data used in this study are primary data and secondary data obtained through direct observation and interviews with informants. Analysis of the data in a descriptive study conducted by describing the data in a systematic and objective so as to produce factual information, current, and accurate.Based on the results of the study found the following matters : first, PAD Improvement Strategy in PD. Pelabuhan Dumai Bersemai have a strategy that in cludes: Optimization of Corporate Strategy, Corporate Business Recovery Strategy, Potential Restructuring Company. The implementation of recovery strategies see the number of requests and restructuring loans made PD. Pelabuhan Dumai Bersemai and Local Government, to prepared anticipation government strategy in the management of the port as a benchmark for successful implementation of the strategy of empowering PD. Pelabuhan Dumai Bersemai. Second, as for one of the factors that influence the increase inrevenuein PD. Abstract

The operational risk management is a very important thing to do by all companies,both companies of goods or services. This is done in order to the company can reduce or even to eliminate, the risk operational in the activity up to cause not the dekriments for the company.The purpose of the research is to identfy and to know the risk operational profile also to analyse expedition business risk management on PT. Nagah Berlian cabang Belawan, North Sumatera to satisfy the stakeholders.The method on research is how te process of the operational risk management that done by PT. Nagah Berlian, the sorce of the data used are primary data,the data is in the form of interviews through FGD mini or mini-group discussions with informants who the considered in answering the questions and which is directly connected with activity of operational risk management and secondary data, the data like datas that optained and summitted from PT. Nagah Berlian cabang Belawan, North Sumatera, Jl. Pelabuhan II No 1A, Belawan contains information relating to this research, such company profile, organitation structure, the list of ship fleet and the other data which is relevant with this research.The result of the research that doing was show that there are four ways in operational risk management done by PT. Abstract

This research examines the dynamics of internal conflict on Myanmar, especially in Kachin State which has affected Tiongkok Policy toward Myanmar. Since President U Thein Sein’s government ascended to the power in March 2011, Myanmar’s political spring is gradually moving ahead. However, admit the brighter progress, there are struggles and frustrations embedded. Armed conflict between Kachin Independent Organizations (KIO) and government’s troops (Tatmadaw) is still going on. The Kachin conflict has been a policy challenge for Tiongkok. Border tranquility, the protection of Chinese investments and the prevention of expanding US influence are the top three considerations for all border regions. The Kachin conflict has disrupted Tiongkok’s border security and jeopardized its economic investments in the region.The writer collects data from books, encyclopedia, journal, mass media and websites to analyze the Tiongkok’s interest on Kachin Conflict. This research applied neo-realis paradigm and intervention concept from J.G. Strake. The theories applied in this research are objectivity theory from Paul R. Viotti and Mark V. Kauppi on International and World Politics – Security, Economy, IdentityThis research shows that how the Kachin conflict affects these interests of Tiongkok has played a determining role in Tiongkok’s policy toward the conflict. Tiongkok’s most significant policy adjustment on the Kachin conflict was intervention in the negotiations. Tiongkok offered to resolve this difference by providing place for the talks. In addition, Tiongkok also explicitly guaranteed the security of all participants, sending armed police to guard the perimeter. Abstract

This study will analyze how the Strategy of Social Service, Manpower and Transmigration in Reducing Unemployment in Siak. Given the number of unemployed either from within or from the outside of the area to look for jobs in Siak government attempted to reduce unemployment by holding job fairs exhibitions in order to facilitate job seekers procure the job.Steps Strategy of Social Service, Manpower and Transmigration in Reducing Unemployment in Siak become very important in providing counseling or dissemination to the public or the unemployed to fill job vacancies that exist both within and outside the region. Then, Social Services, Manpower and Transmigration in Siak also perform or carry out training of workers according to labor market demand according to the expertise or skills possessed by job seekers. The purpose of this study is to determine the strategy of Social Service, Manpower and Transmigration in in Siak and to determine the factors that influence the strategy of Social Service, Manpower and Transmigration in Reducing Unemployment in Siak. For this problem analyze author uses the theory Tripomo, Tejo, and Udan which an analysis of strategies focus on factors that SWOT Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats.This research was conducted in the Department of Social Welfare, Labour and Transmigration in Siak, using qualitative research methods using snowball sampling method in the analyze of research with key informants (keyinforman). In collecting the data, research using interview techniques, observation and communication studies. By using key informants and informant as a supplementary source of information reducing Unemployment in Siak not running with a maximum in carrying out efforts to reduce unemployment. Abstract

This research analyzes the reason of Spain preassured England over sovereignty of Gibraltar. This research want to know why did Spain keep on preassuring Gibraltar. The small region on point of Europe has much values such as economic, geopolitic and tourism. Those values made England and Spain had conflict. This is the reason why the writer interested in this research. This dispute started when Spain transfered sovereignty of Gibraltar to England in Spanish Succession War. Spain dispute Gibraltar from England because it had much potentials and very strategic. As the consequence, Gibraltar made twice referendum; on 1967 and 2002. The result of the referendum was Gibraltar people continued to live under England and rejected be apart of Spain. In another side, Spain preassure Gibraltar because Spain believed that Gibraltar as the main income for Spain in tax and fishing sector. Spain got protest about so much smuggling of tobacco in border Gibraltar-Spain and sink spiked concrete blocks into the sea by Gibraltar. This is reason why Spain lose out income from smuggling of tobacco and fisherman can not fishing on Algeciras Bay/ Gibraltar Bay. In this research writer using theory of Kenneth Waltz; Three Image. The Theory has three level analysis, that is individual, state and international system. Writer using level analysis of state, because this conflict involve two state. This study used methode of explanation, that is method to explain the problem in a particular and method library research, such as books, journals, magazine, media electronic, and the other source. Abstract

This research aims to look at the role of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in overcoming the food crisis in Bangladesh. The food crisis means losing access to food for the majority of the world community or lack of resources used to produce food. In Bangladesh there are several causes of the food crisis include natural disasters, food price inflation, the increase in population, the transfer of agricultural land, and poverty. The global food crisis provides a parallel effect on food security in Bangladesh which led to the high prevalence of malnutrition among children and women, as well as add to the high level of poverty in Bangladesh. In addressing the food crisis in Bangladesh FAO as an organization engaged in the food sector provide financial assistance and make some programs to address these issues and to supervise the program has been implemented. This research shows that the FAO managed to overcome the food crisis in Bangladesh and able to perform their functions. The success achieved in the form of: increasing the availability of food, rising incomes of the poor and the initiative when confronted again with the food crisis in the future.Key word: Bangladesh, Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), food crisis, roles.

Abstract

Middle east revolution or Arab Spring has destroyed most of middle east nations and government. The revolution carry two main factor which causing revolution. First factor is democratization issue, and Sunni-Shi’a conflict as a second factor. Saudi Arabia as a part of middle east region can’t avoid impact by revolution. On the other hand, Saudi Arabia has two main factor which causing revolution either. This research is focused to explain reasons why Saudi Arabia government could survive during the revolution and still standing as a stable government in the region.This research has built by using realist perspective of international relations and supported by security theories. This research also using nation-state as the level of analyze which aimed on strategies by Saudi Arabia on it own government stability. Formulation of facts, data, arguments, theoretical framework in this research using qualitative explanation methods. Focus on this research is Saudi Arabia’s strategies in order to defending it own government stability during Arab Spring and explain stability of Saudi Arabia government.This research has formulated answer-hypothesis which revealed the fact of ability of Saudi Arabia government to remains stable is by it’s strategies to minimalyze factor of revolution and policy to maintain social stabilization. According to the strategy, Arab Saudi remains as a stable nation and government with no change in the nation nor the government.
