Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of @ezraalfatah’s Instagram content on fulfilling the information needs related to thesis guidance among its followers. The @ezraalfatah account is an educational platform that shares content about thesis preparation, including topic selection, methodology, and thesis defense strategies. The research is motivated by the high demand for information among final-year students and the growing use of social media as a source of academic information. The study uses the Uses and Gratifications theory as its theoretical framework. Data were collected through an online questionnaire distributed to 100 active followers of @ezraalfatah using accidental sampling. The independent variable in this study is the quality of Instagram content, measured through indicators such as clarity, concise, concrete, correct, coherent, complete, and courteous. The dependent variable is the fulfillment of information needs, measured using current need approach, everyday need approach, exhaustive need approach, and catching-up need approach. The results show a significant influence of @ezraalfatah’s Instagram content on the fulfillment of information needs, with an R value of 0.888 and an R square value of 0.786. This indicates that 78.6% of the variation in information needs fulfillment can be explained by content quality. The regression test produced a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05), confirming a positive and significant effect. In conclusion, the Instagram account @ezraalfatah contributes substantially to meeting the thesis-related information needs of its followers.. Abstract

Rokan IV Koto District is one of the districts in Rokan Hulu Regency which is quite well-known because it has several tourist attractions that have the potential to become destinations, especially for the people of Rokan Hulu Regency. One of the destinations in Rokan IV Koto District is the King Rokan Palace, precisely in Koto Ruang Village. The King Rokan Palace is one of the cultural heritage tourist attractions that has great potential to be developed as a leading tourist destination in Rokan Hulu Regency. However, the Digital Promotion of this tourist attraction is still limited and ineffective, this study aims to see how the implementation of promotion through digital media is used by the management and Koto Ruang Village, in addition to aiming to find out what obstacles are faced by the management. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and literature studies and documentation using key informants and supporters as sources of data information. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of digital promotion at the King Rokan Palace Cultural Heritage tourist attraction still has a lot to be fixed, especially in the field of increasing views through social media such as Facebook and Instagram. This is evidenced by the implementation of digital promotion that does not run as it should in the management of the tourist attraction. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of product quality and price on consumer satisfaction at the Archa Jaya Gypsum Store. This study is a quantitative study with a sample of 98 respondents. The data sources were obtained from secondary data and primary data. This study used a questionnaire as a data collection technique using a purposive sampling method, namely a technique for determining samples with certain considerations or characteristics. The analysis methods used in this study are validity testing, reliability testing, classical heteroscedasticity assumption testing, multiple linear analysis, t-test, F-test and coefficient of determination analysis (R2). The results of this study are Product Quality (X1) has a positive and significant effect on consumer satisfaction (Y), Price (X2) has a positive and significant effect on consumer satisfaction (Y), and Product Quality and Price have a positive and significant effect on consumer satisfaction. Abstract

The Gaza Strip is a conflict zone that has long experienced blockades, political instability, and armed violence, leading to an ongoing humanitarian crisis. Not only humans but also animals have become victims of this situation, particularly those in zoos that are left neglected and lacking proper care. Amidst this turmoil, Four Paws International, a non-governmental organization focused on animal welfare, carried out a mission to rescue animals in Gaza during 2018–2019. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a non-participatory observation method, using social movement theory and pluralism perspective in international relations as theoretical frameworks. Social movement theory provides an understanding of the processes of mobilization, solidarity, and the formation of global advocacy networks, while the pluralism perspective helps illustrate how non-state actors, such as Four Paws International, can influence international regimes that are typically dominated by states. The study also uses the Five Freedoms framework by the Farm Animal Welfare Council (FAWC) as a benchmark to assess animal welfare standards. The findings show that Four Paws International executed animal rescue efforts through evacuation and medical care methods. The organization successfully evacuated dozens of animals from three zoos in Gaza, all in critical conditions, to wildlife sanctuaries in Jordan and South Africa. With the documented process of evacuation and post-evacuation care conducted by the organization, Four Paws International's mission in Gaza can be categorized as successful. This success is reflected in the physical and mental recovery of the animals, who had previously been exposed to hazardous conditions, ensuring they received better protection after evacuation and demonstrating a significant contribution to animal welfare protection in conflict zones. Abstract

Food security is a strategic issue that requires serious attention, especially amid the threats of inflation, climate change, limited land, and distribution disruptions. This research aims to describe the management of the Agriculture and Food Office of Bukittinggi City in the field of food security from 2021 to 2023. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, documentation, and literature studies. The results show that the Agriculture and Food Office of Bukittinggi City has implemented managerial functions including planning, organizing, executing, and supervising food security programs. Various programs such as the Affordable Food Movement, provision of superior seeds, local food diversification, and farmer empowerment have been carried out to strengthen food security. However, several challenges still hinder the achievement of targets, such as the limited area of agricultural land, high inflation, pest attacks, and climate change. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the Regional Government of Solok Regency in tourism development, particularly in X Koto Singkarak and Gunung Talang Districts in 2022. These two districts possess significant tourism potential in terms of natural beauty, cultural richness, and local products. However, tourism development in the region still faces challenges such as limited infrastructure, natural disaster risks, low community participation, and weak coordination among stakeholders. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using Geoffrey C. Gunn’s theory (1994), which identifies seven strategic roles of government: policy-making, planning, coordination, regulation, stimulation, control, and public ownership. Data were collected through interviews, documentation, and literature review. The results show that the Solok Regency Government has fulfilled several strategic roles, such as formulating Regional Regulation No. 5 of 2020, mid-term tourism planning (RIPPDA), and empowering local communities through training on homestay management and small enterprises. However, low public participation and suboptimal digital promotion remain major obstacles. The study recommends strengthening the government’s role as facilitator and coordinator, improving infrastructure, aligning policies across institutions, and optimizing collaboration with the private sector and local communities. With an inclusive and sustainable strategy, the tourism potential of Solok Regency can be developed to make a significant contribution to community welfare. Abstract

This study aims to examine the condition and management of the main facilities at Kinantan Wildlife and Cultural Park (TMSBK) in Bukittinggi City, which combines a zoo with elements of Minangkabau culture and history through the Wildlife Park, Fort de Kock Fortress, and Limpapeh Bridge. The research uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results show that most facilities are still functioning well and attract visitors, but challenges remain, such as the lack of information boards and weak supervision and maintenance. Management includes aspects of planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling, but has not been optimal. Improving facility quality and sustainable planning is needed for TMSBK to grow as an educational, recreational, and sustainable tourist destination. Abstract

This study aims to examine the promotional strategy implemented by Toko Kacang Pukul HH as a typical souvenir of Rokan Hilir Regency, and to analyze consumer perceptions of the effectiveness of the promotion. This product has significant cultural and economic value, but the promotional strategy has not been fully evaluated based on the consumer's perspective. The research method used is a mixed method, with a qualitative approach through observation and interviews, and a quantitative approach through distributing questionnaires to 153 respondents using the accidental sampling technique. Data analysis was carried out descriptively with a frequency approach. The results showed that promotion was carried out through advertising, personal selling, and public relations. Consumers generally responded positively to the appearance of advertisements and staff services, but the promotion was considered inconsistent and had not reached the market optimally. This study contributes to the development of local product promotion strategies based on consumer perceptions to support the competitiveness of the regional tourism sector. Abstract

The issue of mobile street vendors operating on road shoulders and sidewalks in Pekanbaru City has caused disruptions to public order, traffic flow, and the overall quality of public spaces. This situation has drawn the attention of local authorities, as it violates Regional Regulation Number 13 of 2021 concerning Public Order and Community Tranquility. The Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), as the law enforcement agency for local regulations, holds a strategic role in regulating the activities of these mobile vendors. However, the effectiveness of Satpol PP’s performance in carrying out this function remains in question, particularly regarding the long-term impact of the enforcement efforts. This study aims to describe the performance evaluation of Satpol PP Pekanbaru City in regulating mobile vendors in 2023. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that although enforcement activities have been routinely conducted, their long-term impact remains suboptimal due to limited resources, the absence of standard operating procedures (SOP), weak deterrent effects, and the lack of alternative solutions for the vendors. Therefore, a more integrative and sustainable strategy is required to enhance the effectiveness of Satpol PP’s performance in maintaining public order in the city. Abstract

This study explores UNICEF's implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in addressing early marriage in Indonesia, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite legislative changes through Law Number 16 of 2019, which raised the minimum age for marriage to 19, significant challenges remain. Factors such as poverty, unemployment, and school closures due to social restrictions have actually driven the rise in early marriage, particularly in Asia. This study reviews various efforts undertaken by UNICEF and the Indonesian government through policy analysis, formal education programs, gender equality advocacy, and the implementation of the National Strategy for the Prevention of Child Marriage (STRANAS PPA). The research focuses on how these interventions are implemented, the obstacles they face, and their effectiveness in reducing early marriage rates amidst the pandemic. The results show that although there has been a decline in the number of early marriages following the implementation of the new policy, serious obstacles remain. Lack of public understanding, weak law enforcement, and the socio-economic impact of the pandemic are key inhibiting factors. Therefore, this study recommends stronger collaboration between the government, child protection agencies, and communities to strengthen the protection of children's rights and create more effective strategies for preventing early marriage in the future.
