Abstract

Increased productivity of edamame soybean crops with the addition of chicken manure and the use of Trichoderma sp as a decomposer of organic matter. This study aims to determine the interaction and the influence of single factor of chicken manure and Trichoderma sp. and to find out the best dose of edamame soybean growth and yield. This experiment was conducted experimentally in a 3x3 factorial formulated according to a complety randomized design (RAL) consisting of two factors: chicken manure (5,10 and 15 t.ha-1) and Trichoderma sp. (without application, 10 g, and 15 g). The parameters observed were percentage of effective root nodule, plant height, flowering age, percentage full pod, weight of pod per plant, number of seeds per pod, production per plot. then tested further by Duncan's multiple-range test at a 5% level. The results showed that the application of single factor of chicken manure and Trichoderma sp. effect on plant height, flowering age, number of pods, plant pod weight, and plot production but no effect on the percentage of effective root nodule and number of seeds per pod and 10 g of Trichoderma sp. and 10 t.ha-1 chicken manure is a treatment that may be the best dose to increase the growth and production of edamame soybean crop.Keywords: edamame soybean, chicken manure, Trichoderma sp.

Abstract

The local wisdom is needed in the management of forest protection. Knowledge in the form of customs rules, culture, and activities in forest management will preserve Rimbo Larangan Taratak Air Hitam. This research aims are to determine the form and  factor  the resistence of local wisdom in Rimbo Larangan Teratak Air Hitam. The method use is descriptive qualitative. Data collection is done with the interview or debriefing with the respondent. The sampling technique used in this research is  the Purposive Sampling. The questions asked are open-ended with the intention to provide the opportunity for respondents to express their opinion. The interview process was documented in the form of written notes, photographs, and recordings. The research conducted in the village of Seberang Taratak Air Hitam Sentajo Raya subdistrict Kuantan Singingi District. The results of this research is the local wisdom in Rimbo Larangan Taratak Air Hitam shaped custom rules, such as an appeal to maintain forests and a ban on activities which would damage the forest. There are 3 mains factors in maintaining local wisdom that their traditional institutions, public awareness, and the attention from the Kuantan Singingi Forestry Departement.Keywords: Local Wisdom, RimboLarangan, The Village Teratak Air Hitam, District KuantanSingingi

Abstract

This study aim to 1.)determine the level of motivation of plasma broiler breeders in partnership 2.)determine the level of peformance of plasma broiler breeders in partnership 3.) analyze the effect of motivation to plasma broiler breeders in partnership at Pekanbaru. This research using the secundary and the primary data, the secundary data is obtained by statistic center, the primary data is obtained by spreading questionaries to 40 respondent which are using random sampling technique. Then data analyze both qualitative and quantitative, qualitative data is the interpretation of the likert scale and the interpretation of the linear multiple regression by SPSS 17 include : coefficient of determination, F test, and T test.There are 9 motivation variable, the result of likert scale show the value of motivation is 3.40, it meants generally plasma breeders be criteria motivate. The value of peformance is 3.17, it meants that generally peformance of plasma breeders be criteria good enough. The result of multiple regression show that coefficient of determination is 0.545, it meants 54.5 percent motivation significant affecting peformance of plasma boriler breeders, while 45.5 percent remains is affect by another variabel beyond the equation model. Keywords: Broiler, Contract Farming, Motivation, Partnership And Peformance

Abstract

The aim of this experiment was to determine the effect of some organic mulch application and to find the best type of organic mulch for increase growth and yield of watermelon. This research had been conducted at field of UPT Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, from September to November 2015. The experiment unit arrangd in a randomized block design with four treatment and five replication, so to find 20 plot of experiment. The given treatment is organic mulch application (M) is: M0: without organic mulch, M1: rice husk mulch 6 kg/plot (5 ton/ha), M2: maize stover mulch 6 kg/plot (5 ton/ha), M3: put sawdust mulch 6 kg/plot (5 ton/ha). Parameters observed were plant’s height, ring trunk, flower age, horizontal and vertikal ring, watermelon’s weight and yield. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance and continued with Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% level. The results showed organic mulch application on watermelon did not have any effect plant’s height, ring trunk, flower age, horizontal and vertikal ring, but drastically reduced on increasing of watermelon’s weight and  yield. The rice straw mulch is the best of organic mulch drastically reduced plant’s height, ring trunk, flower age, horizontal and vertikal ring and watermwlon’s weight. Rice straw mulch drastically reduced the yield is 14,32 ton/ha. Keywords : organic mulch, rice husk, maize stover, put sawdust

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the influence of  growing media mixture of peat and Red Yellow Podzolic (RYP) and to get best growing media to palm oil growth seedlings (Elaeis guinensis Jacq) in the main nursery. This research conducted on March to July 2016. This study was  an experiment using of  completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of 7 treatments with 4 replications. The treatments were growing media comparison of peat and red yellow podzolic such as  1: 0 (T1), 0:1 (T2), 1:1 (T3), 2:1 (T4), 1:2 (T5), 1:3 (T6), 3:1 (T7), Parameters measured were increase of height plant, the number of leaves, diameter of hump, and broad leaves. Observation of data were analized statistically with ANOVA and Duncan's multiple range test level of 5%. The results showed that growing media mixture of peat and red-yellow podzolic influence to palm oil growth in main nursery. Growing media mixture of peat and red yellow podzolic 3:1 (T7) significantly increase of hump diameter and broad leaves of palm oil seedling. Keywords: Peat soil, mineral soil, Elaeis guineensis jacq

Abstract

Onion production which decreased in Riau province affected by the lack of interest and experience of farmers. Riau has extensive peatlands, efforts to increase the productivity of peat soil as crop production land can be done by combining the use of organic such as compost oil palm empty fruit bunches (EFB) and inorganic fertilizers such as manure KCl. This study aimed to determine the effect of the combination of composted manure TKKS with KCl and get a dose of compost TKKS combination with best KCl fertilizer which can improve the growth and yield of onion on the peat medium. The research was conducted in the House Kasa, the Experimental Farm of Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau, in November 2015 until February 2016. The research was conducted experimentall using on completely randomized design (CDR) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The data were analyzed statistically by analysis of variance and tested further with Duncan's multiple range test at 5% level. The results showed that the administration of various doses of compost TKKS with KCl fertilizer can not increase the plant height parameters, number of tuber per hill and the circumference of the tuber however the good effects toward the tuber weight fresh and the tuber shelf weight per clump on onion crop. Giving compost TKKS with fertilizer KCl at a dose of 150 kg K2O / ha showed the best results because it can increase the tuber weight fresh and the tuber shelf weight per clump. Abstract

This study aims to describe the profile of P3A group members that influence production unit in supporting the success of rice farming of tidal land in Indragiri Hilir District. Research has been conducted in Indragiri Hilir District in Kempas, Reteh and Keritang District started from September 2016 until February 2017, using survey method with descriptive analysis of regression and correlation. The results of this study indicate that members of P3A tidal land rice paddy in Indragiri Hilir, the majority members of P3A are senior high school educated, male, productive age, have small family members, had narrow land area, the majority work on private land and 68,67% of P3A farmers rice productivity in Indragiri Hilir District rice increase and highly increase. The any change in attitude of P3A paddy farmers in Indragiri Hilir District has an effect on rice productivity increase of 0,313 ton.ha-1 and has a pretty positive relationship to the variable self efficacy, motivation, interaction member, cohesion member and norms members in supporting the success of paddy rice farming tidal land. Self efficacy factors, work motivation, member among interaction, member cohesion, member norms and norms of P3A members in Indragiri Hilir Regency have a relationship with each other with strong correlation value. Keywords: Member profile, P3A, paddy rice farming, productivity

Abstract

The sumatran elephant is rare animals wich spreadin almost all parts of sumatera island. The conflict between people with the sumatran elephants often occurred in the forest area alongside people settlement. The large amount of sumatran elephants population in Tesso Nilo National Park highly dependent on the carrying capacity of the habitat and the available feed. This research aims to know populationof sumatran elephants and carrying capacity of feedthe sumatran elephantin the area of Tesso Nilo National Park Province of Riau. The studywas usedthe method purposive sampling by determined the position of elephant on the track, determinationof sample plot offeed location the sumatran elephants and carrying capacity collected of feed the sumatran elephant. Data obtained areComposition Vegetation (species density, species frequency, species dominance), IndexValue Important (IVI), Species Diversity, Biomass Feed, CarryingCapacity of Feed and Carrying Capacity of habitat. The result of interviews with the mahout in the village Lubuk Kembang Bunga, there are 2 groups the sumatran elephants with the total as many 38 tail. The results of the research showed that the availability of feed in 1 Hectare areasin a Tesso Nilo National Park were not sufficient to 1 tail sumatran elephants.The carrying capacity of habitat sumatran elephant wich exists at Tesso Nilo National Park regional with broad area 1331.19 Hectare can not accommodate for sumatran elephants. Keywords: elephant, location, population, feed.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the dose of flour forest fruit betel (Piper aduncum L) that best powder beetle kills pests (Sitophilus zeamais M) on corn in storage. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Plant Pests, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Pekanbaru. The study was conducted from April to June 2016. The research method implemented experimentally. This research was conducted in two series, the first carried out for 72 hours to observe the initial time of death, the daily mortality, Lethal time50, and total mortality, and the second after 5 weeks of infestation, which is observed is S. zeamais beetle population growth and shrinkage weight of corn by pests S. zeamais, using a completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of six treatments, with four replications thus obtained 24 experimental units. Each experimental unit infested as many as 10 animals         S. zeamais. The results showed that the dosage of flour betel vine forest at a dose of 8 g / 100 g of corn is the best dose to control S. zeamais with total mortality of 97.50%, the initial time of 5.50 hours of death, lethal time50 (LT50) during 21:00 hours. Keywords: S. zeamais M, betel fruit woods, corn

Abstract

This study aims to determine the interaction of dolomite and chicken manure to get the best dosage combination on the growth and yield of onion at peatlands. This research was conducted on peat land located in Pematang Reba, Rengat Barat, Indragiri Hulu Regency. This study used Factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK) with two factors. The first factor was doses of dolomite fertilizer (D) (2, 4 and 6 tons.ha-1) and the second factor was the doses of chicken manure (K) (5, 10 and 15 kg.ha-1). The parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, number of tubers, tuber bulbs, fresh weight tuber.plot-1, and reasonable save tuber weight.plot-1. Based on the result of the research, of dolomite and chicken manure give an effect on the parameters of plant height, fresh weight tuber.plot-1, and reasonable save tuber weight.plot-1. However, it was not give an effect on the number of leaf parameters, the number of tubers and the tubers. Based on the result of the research, the combination of dolomite treatment of 400 g.m-2 and chicken manure 1000 g.m-2 resulted in the fresh weight tuber.plot-1, and reasonable save tuber weight.plot-1 higher than other treatment.Keywords: onion, dolomite and chicken manure
