Abstract

This research aimed to get the best extraction of time and temperature on the quality of pectin from banana peels horn. This research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors treatments and three replications. First factor the extraction of temperature is T1 (80°C) and T2 (90°C). Second factor the extraction of time is W1 (60 minutes), W2 (70 minutes) and W3 (80 minutes). Parameters measured were yield pectin, moisture content, ash content, methoxyl content, time of jelly, organoleptic assessment descriptively of  pectin colour and pectin jelly. The value of observation were analyzed using Analysis of Varians (ANOVA) followed by Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) on 5% level. The results showed that the interaction between temperature and extraction of time was significants (P<0.05) the water content, methoxyl content and the time of the formation of jelly. Extraction of temperature significants different (P<0.05) on yield, moisture content, ash content, methoxyl, and time of jelly. Extraction  of time was significants (P <0.05), the yield of pectin, moisture content, ash content, methoxyl content, and time of jelly. Based on organoleptic assessment descriptive (colour) of the pectin and jelly is brown and be dark brown with the increase in the temperature and the extraction of time. The best treatment of pectin is extraction of temperature (90°C) and the extraction of time (80 minutes). Keywords: Extraction of temperature, extraction of time, pectin.

Abstract

At this time the building of forest city pulau bungin still in step as the trees habitats in the middle of city that’s why need the data about potency ecotourism of forest city pulau bungin located at kota taluk kuantan, kuantan singingi regency. This research doing at forest city pulau bungin, kuantan singingi regency, riau province, helded at April-mei 2016. From the result of this reseach can conclude that the potency ecotourism of forest city located in forest city pulau bungin is pendopo, traditional track, jogging track, bridge, fruits forest, chair. The potency ecotourism of that very interesting in forest city pulau bungin is Fruits tree with precentage 48% and interesting category. Key words: Forest city Pulau Bungin, Potency Ecotourism

Abstract

Theaim of this study wasto get the best treatment fruit leather from mixed soursop (Annoma muricata L.) and melon (Cucumis melo L.). The study used a Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 3 replications.The treatments were SM1 (soursop 100 : melon 0), SM2 (soursop80 : melon 20), SM3 (soursop60 : melon40), SM4 (soursop40 : melon60) SM5 (soursop20 : melon80) and SM6 (soursop 0 : melon 100).  The data were analyzed statistically using ANOVA and DNMRT at 5%.  Thestudyshowed that treatment significantly influence on water, ash content, degree of acidity (pH), crude fiber,and organoleptic test. The best treatment offruit leather from this research  wasSM2 which have water 12,16%, ash 0,75%, degree of acidity (pH) 3,98, crude fiber content 1,91%, , reddish yellow color,little fruit soursop and melonflavour, sweetness taste, the texture clay and overall assesment of fruit leather was  preferred by the panelist.Keywords: Fruit leather, soursop fruit and melon

Abstract

This research aims 1) To determine the characteristic, the independent, and the characteristic of system sosial  of agricultural extension worker insubdistrict Gunung Toar of Kuantan Singingi. 2) To analyzed the performance of agricultural extension workers in subdistrict Gunung Toar. 3) To analize the empowerment and independent of oil palm in Gunung Toar sub district of Kuantan Singingi. Research using survey method amounted to 5 extension selected by census and 55 non-pattern rubber farmers were chosen randomly. The Research analysed with scale likert. The results showed that 1) Characteristic extension workers in SubDistrict Gunung Toar categorized as "High". Extension workers in SubDistrict Gunung Toar categorized as "Independent" which is indicated by a score of 4.47. The characteristics of social system categorized as "High" with a score of 4.11 2)The performance extension workers in the district of Gunung Toar Regency Kuantan Singingi was “Good” score average (3,79). 3) But the empowerment and independent of palm oil farmers was “self power” and “self Independent” score average (2,91) and (3,31).Keywords: Characteristic, Independent, Social System, Performance, Empowerment

Abstract

The purpose of this study were to determine the quality and the best formulation of cincau jelly drink with addition of pineapple extract. This study used a Complete Randomized Design consisting of five treatments and three replications to obtain fifteen experimental units. The treatments in this study were CN1 (cincau extract 90% and pineapple extract 10%), CN2 (cincau extract 80% and  pineapple extract 20%), CN3 (cincau  extract 70% and pineapple extract 30%), CN4 (cincau extract 60% and pineapple extract 40%), and CN5 (cincau extract 50% and pineapple extract 50%). The data obtained using the analysis of variance followed by Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% level. Result of variance indicated that the ratio of grass jelly extract and pineapple extract at different concentration have significant effected on the content of sucrose concentration, pH, viscosity, color, flavor, texture, and overall assesment of hedonic jelly drinks produced. The best treatment was CN5 (cincau extract 50% and pineapple extract 50%), with sucrose concentration 21.09%, pH 4.36, viscosity 12175.30 cP, and description color was brownish green, scented pineapple, pineapple taste, slightly chewy texture, and overall rated liked by the panelists with a score 4.16.Keywords: cincau, pineapple, and jelly drink

Abstract

Production of oil palm crops can be kept stable by replanting, by replacing unproductive crops with new crops and using good quality seeds. The use of maize trichocompos is formulated as organic fertilizer, can be done to increase the growth of oil palm seedlings. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Trichocompos maize waste formulations and to obtain a good dose for the growth of oil palm seedlings in early seeding. This research was conducted by experiment using Randomized Complete Design, with 5 treatments and 4 replications consisting of: T1 = 10 g Trichokompos, T2 = 15 g Trichokompos, T3 = 20 g Trichokompos, T4 = 25 g Trichokompos, T5 = 30 g Trichokompos. Data from the observations obtained, analyzed using analysis of variance and conducted a further test Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the level of 5%. The results of this study indicate that the administration of several maize trichocompos doses formulated can increase the height of seedlings, root volume and dry weight of oil palm seedlings in early seedlings. Trichokompos of maize waste formulated with a dose of 30 g / plant has the best ability to increase the growth of oil palm seedlings in early seeding.Keywords: Palm oil, Trichocompost of maize wastes formulated, Early breeding

Abstract

Soybeanis a source of vegetable protein and the basis of variety of processed products. Chrysodeixis chalcites is one of the major pests in soybean plant. Currently efforts in controlling C. chalcitesstill use synthetic insecticide that can have negative impacts. Reducing the effects caused by synthetic insecticide, therefore need alternative in pest control techniques such as use local entomopathogenic fungi Cordyceps militaris. The purpose of this research is to get concentration of local entomopathogenic fungi C. militaris which best in control C. chalciteson soybean plants. Research prepared using completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 5 replications. The treatment used is some concentration of local entomopathogenic fungi C. militaris consists of 5 treatments are 20 g/l of water (45,2 x 107 kon/ml), 30 g/l of water (67,8 x 107 kon/ml), 40 g/l of water (90,4 x 107 kon/ml), 50 g/l of water (113,0 x 107 kon/ml), and 60 g/l of water (135,6 x 107 kon/ml). The results showed concentration of local entomopathogenic fungi C. militaris 60 g/l of water (135,6 x 107 kon/ml) is the best concentration because can to provide the fastest time to early death for 45,4 hours, lethal time 50 (LT50) for 113,8hours, and caused total mortality 84% for 168 hours. The exact concentration to control 95% of the population of C. chalcites is 18,59% or 185,9 g/l of water. Keyword:Local entomopathogenic fungi Cordyceps militaris L. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of giving trichokompos waste water hyacinth and to get the best dose on the growth and production of pakcoy. This study was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design. The treatment in this research is dosage of trichokompos waste water hyacinth which consist of 5 levels were : 0 kg.ha-1(T0),1,5 kg.ha-1(T1), 2 kg.ha-1(T2),2,5 kg.ha-1(T3), and 3 kg.ha-1(T4). The observed data were analyzed statistically using analyzed of varian and tasted further by DUNCAN’S new multiple range test of 5%. The result of this research indicate that giving of trichokompos waste water hyacinth can increase the growth and production of pakcoy. The giving of trichokompos waste water hyacinth dose 3 kg per plot produces pakcoy’s best growth and production.Keywords: pakcoy, Trichokompos, waste eceng gondok

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of dosage compost TKKS and ZA, TSP, KCl fertilizer on the growth and production of shallots. This research was conducted in experimental garden of Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Riau, Tampan, Pekanbaru in October - December 2015. The design used in this research is arranged in Factorial Random Design (RAK) Factorial consisting of 2 factors with 3 replications. Factor I: compost TKKS (C) with 4 doses (ton / ha) ie C1 (10), C2 (15), C3 (20), C4 (25) and factor II: ZA, TSP, KCl (K) With 3 doses (kg / ha): K0 (0), K1 (250 kg ZA / ha + 150 kg TSP / ha + 100 kg KCl / ha), K2 (500kg ZA / ha + 300kg TSP / ha + 200 kg KCl / ha). The data obtained were analyzed using multipurpose test with Duncan multiple test at 5% level. Compost TKKS and ZA, TSP, KCl fertilizer had significant effect on tuber diameter per sample clump, tuber weight per plot, and tuber weight per plot, Not significant to plant height and number of tubers per sample clump. The compost of TKKS 1.5 kg / plot was added ZA50 g / plot, TSP 30 g / plot and KCl 20 g / plot resulted in the highest onion production of 487.67 g / plot or equal to 4,8767 ton / ha compared with other treatment.Keywords: TKKS compost, ZA Fertilizer, TSP, KCl, Growth and Red Onion Production

Abstract

This study is aimed at knowing the influence of mikoriza and rock phosphateand get a combination of good treatment for growth and production of sweet corn (Zea mays saccarata Sturt) on peat land. This research has been implemented from August 2016 to November 2016 at the research garden of Agriculture faculty University of Riau, at a village of Rimbo Panjang, Tambang, Kampar district. Research was conducted by experimental design factorial of 3 x 4, arranged completely random draft (CRD). Factor I is application of mikoriza, M0 = without mikoriza, M1 = mikoriza 10 g per plant, M2 = mikoriza 20 g per plant and factor II is application of rock phosphate, P0 = without rock phosphate, P1 = rock phosphate267,85 kg.ha-1, P2 = rock phosphate535,71 kg.ha-1 and P3 = rock phosphate803,57 kg.ha-1. The results showed that application of mikoriza 20 g per plant and rock phosphate535,71 kg.ha-1 increased the percentage of the mikoriza infection from 15,50% to 83,00%, high of plant from 185,88 cm to 227,48 cm, leaf wide from 341,97 cm2 to 545,06 cm2, stem diameter from 1,75 cm to 2,25 cm, speed up the time appears to be a male flower from 51,50 HST to 48,00 HST, diameterof cob from 4,63 cm to 5,31 cm and increasing production per plot from 2,30 kg 4,5 m-2 to 4,95 kg 4,5 m-2 compared application of mikoriza 0 g per plant and rock phosphate 535,71 kg.ha-1.Keywords : sweet corn, mikoriza, rock phosphate
