Abstract

The rubber plant is the second commodity after palm plants in the village of Sedinginan and Banjar XII, but there are problems with low productivity because a lot of rubber plant been old and damaged thereby inhibiting the development of community forest based on rubber plant. The sampling method using the simple random sample.The collection of data used were primary and secondary data. The results of the research aspects of socio-cultural and economic impact on farmers in developing community forestbased on rubber plant, assessed from the age of farmers belonging to a productive and has experience in planting and maintenance of rubber plant.The low productivity of rubber plant, makes the net income of farmer is not enough for every day. The farmer factor do not conduct replanting,because some of rubber crop still young and no farmer budget do not conduct replanting. Strategies SWOT Analysis can be taken is to use superior seeds qualified and revive the tradition of rubber plant. Abstract

This research to determine the interaction of compost market waste and activated charcoal  to find the best results on the growth and yield of red pepper (Capsicum annuum Linn.). This study was conducted for six months (March-August, 2016), the Experimental Station, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau Pekanbaru, using a randomizedblock design (RBD) factorial, consists of two factors and three replications. The first factor is the dose of compost market waste consist of 3 levels (K0=0 ton/ha, K1=6 ton/ha, K2= 12 ton/ha). The second factor is the dose of activated charcoal consist of 3 level (A0= 0 kg/ha, A1= 40 kg/ha, A2= 80 kg/ha). The results were analyzed by analysis of variance and Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5%. The study suggest that not occur interaction of compost market waste and activated charcoal, but the combination of compost market waste and activated charcoal significantly different of plant height, height dichotomous, stem diameter, days to flowering, number of fruit per plant, fruit weight per plant and fruit weight per plot red pepper plants compost market waste dose 12 ton/ha and activated charcoal dose 40 kg/ha showed the best result inrate of plant height (82,33 cm), and production per plot (831,35 g).Keywords : Chili Plant, Compost Market Waste, Activated Charcoal

Abstract

This research is aimed to find out the effect of yellow pumpkin flour addition toward the content of the nutrition in Sago Chips. From consumers’ point of view, the writer knew that there is the characteristic of censor attribute to the four treatments of sago chips product. This experimental research used Comprehensive Random Program with four treatments and four times tests such as KL1 (100% of sago extract and 0% yellowpumpkin flour), KL2(90% of sago extract and 10% yellowpumpkin flour), KL3(80% of sago extract and 20% yellowpumpkin flour) and KL4(70% of sago extract and 30% yellowpumpkin flour). The data was analyzed statistically by using ANOVA. If F arithmetic were bigger than or as same as F table so the analyze will be continue by using Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test in 5% level. The result of water level was 2.10-4.33%, the dust level was 20.19%-23.89% and the breed capacity was 38.92%-67.80% with unknown quality standard. Consumers’ fondness level toward Sago Chips based on preference mapping were KL1 (100% of sago extract and 0% yellow pumpkin flour) and KL2 (90% of sago extract and 10% yellowpumpkin flour) with had attributes qualitylike sago taste, sago aroma, yellow color and crispy. In the other side, the level of disfavor was KL4 (70% of sago extract and 30% yellowpumpkin flour), the chips from Air Tiris Market, which had attributes quality like garlic taste, garlic, and pumpkin aroma. Keywords: Sago chips, sago extract, yellow pumpkin flour, preference      mapping

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve the productivity of mung beans bythe betung bamboo sprout extract with tithonia green compost. This study was carried out at the experimental station ofAgriculture Faculty, Riau University Pekanbaru from June to September 2016. The study was conducted in the completely randomized design (CRD) factorial experiment 3 x 3 in 3 replications. The first factor wasthe concentration of betung bamboo sprout extract: 0 ppm, 4,500 ppm and 6,000 ppm. The second factor was the doses of tithonia green compost:0 kg/2m2, 2,00 kg/2m2, and 4.00 kg/2m2. The variables those observed were plant height, primary branch numbers, flowerinitiation, the pods ripen age, period of harvest, pods per plant, pithy pods per plant, seed weight, seed dry weight, and weight of 100 seeds.The result suggestednumbers of mung beans primary branch increased, the flowering more accelerated, the pods harvestedwas a longer period if given of betung bamboo sprout extracts 6,000 ppm or the plant would be higher, the age pods to be mature, the pods harvest to be longer and weight of 100 seeds was weightier ifthe plants given tithoniagreen compost4,00 kg/2 m2. Keywords: Mung bean production, betung bamboo sprout extract, tithonia green compost

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to get the best formulation of sliced jam from watermelon’s albedo and tamarillo. The research used a Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and four replications. The  treatments were AT1 (watermelon’s albedo pulp 90% and tamarillo pulp 10%), AT2 (watermelon’s albedo pulp 70% and tamarillo pulp 30%), AT3 (watermelon’s albedo pulp 50% and tamarillo pulp 50%), and AT4 (watermelon’s albedo pulp 30% and tamarillo pulp 70%). The data analyzed statistically using Anova and DNMRT at 5%. The research showed that the combination of watermelon’s albedo and tamarillo significantly effect  on moisture content, ash content, degree of acidity (pH), pectin content, reducing sugar content, total dissolved solids, colour, taste, flavor, texture, and hedonic test. Sliced jam elected from this study was the sliced jam treatment AT4 with ratio watermelon’s albedo 30% and tamarillo 70% which has  moisture content (26.33%), ash content (0.97%), degree of acidity (3.60), pectin content (2.09%), reducing sugar content (20.23%), total dissolved solids (65.10°brix), red colour, tamarillo flavor, sweet little sour taste, the texture was little chewy and panelist like the sliced jam at overall assessment.                                                                                  Keywords: sliced jam, watermelon’s albedo, and tamarillo.

Abstract

Talang Mamak is a tribal society in Indragiri Hulu district, spread over 9 districts in Indragiri Hulu regency. Talang Mamak tribe settlements are mostly located on the edge of the forest, the forest and the edge of the rive flow Indragiri Hulu. Berdukun or bulian is a traditional healing rituals Talang Mamak community by asking the user to supernatural beings as well as using traditional tools and materials whose activities led by a Shaman or Kumantan and auxiliary rituals such as Bujang Bayu, Complementary Old and Dendi. The purpose of this research is to determine the treatment system and the public perception Sungai Pasir Putih subdistrict Kelayang to traditional treatments berdukun or bulian. The method in this research is the method Snownball Sampling. Results showed that the system of public confidence in the Talang Mamak cure various diseases by way of treatment to traditional healers known as traditional medicine berdukun or bulian and subdistrict public perception Kelayang to traditional treatments berdukun or bulian very good perception.Keywords: Traditional Medicine, Talang Mamak, Berdukun or Bulian

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to get the right ratio of carrot extracts and pineapple extracts to produce jelly candy with good quality according to SNI. This research used a Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments and  three replications to obtain fifteen experimental units. The treatment in this study included WN1 (carrot extracts 90% : 10% pineapple extracts), WN2 (carrot extracts 80% : 20% pineapple extracts), WN3 (carrot extracts 70% : 30% pineapple extracts), WN4 (Carrot extracts 60% : 40% pineapple extracts) and WN5 (carrot extracts 50% : 50% pineapple extracts). Data were analized using analysis of variance (ANOVA) then proceed with DNMRT test at 5% level. The results showed that the ratio of carrot extracts and pineapple extracts had significant effect on moisture content, ash content, pectin content, reduction sugar content, color, aroma, taste, texture and overall assessment of the jelly candy produced. The selected treatments that complied with SNI 3574-2-2008 were WN1 with a ratio of 90% carrot extracts and 10% pineapple extracts. The jelly candy produced contains 7.22% of moisture content, 0.82% of ash content, 2.29% of pectin content, 19.24% of reduction sugar content with description very orange (colour), carrot and pineapple (aroma), carrot and pineapple (taste) and slightly chewy (texture) and overall considered liked by the panelist with a score of 1.89. Keywords:  jellycandy, carrot extracts, pineapple extracts.

Abstract

This research is intended to understand the characteristic of the farmers, stage on the Specially Efforts Corn, Soybean, Paddy (UPSUS PAJALE) at RanahBaru village. This research was conducted at RanahBaru village that is located in the Kampar Regency. Multi stage sampling was used as the method to choose locations. The samples were gathered using Purposive Sampling method. This research uses 82 farmers data as samples. Data analysis which is used for this research is the descriptive method. The goals were analyzed using Likert Scale. The results of this research shows us the paddy farmers’ internal characteristics at RanahBaru village such as: the farmers’ productive ages are within the range of 43-49 years, most of the farmers’ are High School graduates, each farmers’ family consists of 4-5 persons, farmers’ experiences are between 13-17 years, the land area that the farmers manage is between 0,5-0,75 ha and the farmers are highly cosmopolitans. The external characteristics of farmers are highly when are evaluated according to the instructors’ intensity, the accuracy of instructors channel, the amount of information sources, the affordability of production facilitiesprice and the availability of production facilities. Keywords:Internal characteristics, External characteristics,Specially Efforts Paddy, Corn, Soybean, (UPSUS PAJALE)

Abstract

 The cultivation of white oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) is not many expanded yet in Indonesia, either the exertion chance or consumtion fulfillment of society. The purpose of the research is to find out the effect of giving various growth media and sugar and get the best combination will increase the production. This research has been conducted in the village of Pandau Jaya of Siak Hulu Kampar district in Riau Province in August until November of 2016. This research was carried out experimentally using a complete randomized design (CRD) factorial consisting of two factor. The first factor is growth media consist of 3 types sawdust, bagasse and tea waste. The second factor is dose of sucrose consist of 4 levels is without sucrose, 40 g, 80 g and 120 g, two factors combined to obtain 12 combined treatments and 4 replication, so there were obtained 48 units experimental each unit countain  2 baglog. Data were analyzed statistically and further test DNMRT at 5 %. The observer parameters is optimal growth of mycelium, pinhead appearance,harvest interval,number of mushrooms,diameter of mushroom hood, weight of mushrooms, biological efficiency. The result showed that the various growing media and the addition of sucrose have an effect on the growth of white oyster mushroom. The combination of growing media of bagasse with the addition of sucrose 40 g yields a mushroom weight of 123.22 g/baglog.Keyword: oyster mushroom, growth media, sugar (sucrose), growth

Abstract

This research aimed to see the effect of shade and potassium fertilizer on the growth of patchouli plants, to get the best potassium potassium condensation on each level of shade provided and to get a better shade level at each dose of potassium fertilizer provided. The experiment was conducted in experimental station of Agriculture Faculty of Universitas Riau from December 2015 to April 2016. This research is a split plot design with shade as main plot and potassium fertilizer as plot child. The main plot consisted of 3 treatment levels: N0 (No shade), N1 (Shade 50%), N2 (Shade 75%) and sub plot consisted of 4 treatment levels: K0 (Without KCl fertilizer), K1 (Fertilizer KCl 0.125 g perpolybag or 50 kg.ha-1), K2 (KCl fertilizer 0.250 g per polybag or 100 kg.ha-1), K3 (KCl fertilizer 0.375 g per polybagor 150 kg.ha-1). Data has been analyzed with variance and tested further with Duncan test at 5% level. The result of this research showed that of shade 75% gave better growth of patchouli plants. Giving doses of KCl 0.375 g per polybag resulted in better growth of patchouli plants. Giving 75% of the various doses of KCl fertilizer provided gives better result on observation of branch length, number of primary branches, root volume and dray weight of the plant. Giving dosage of KCl 0.375 g per polybag at various shade levels gave better result on observation of branch lenght, number of primary branch, root volume and dry weight of plant.  Keywords: Shade, Potassium Fertilizer and Patchouli Plant
