Abstract

This research carried to obtain the best ratio of red dragon fruit peel and pedada fruit extracts in the manufacture of jelly candy. The research used a Complete Randomized (CRD) with five treatments and four replications which were followed by Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at level 5%. The treatments in this research were PN1(ratio of red dragon fruit peel and pedada fruit extracts 90:10), PN2 (ratio of red dragon fruit peel and pedada fruit extracts 80:20), PN3 (ratio of red dragon fruit peel and pedada fruit extracts 70:30), PN4 (ratio of red dragon fruit peel and pedada fruit extracts 60:40), PN5 (ratio of red dragon fruit peel and pedada fruit extracts 50:50).  The result of analysis showed that the ratio of red dragon fruit peel and pedada fruit extracts significantly effect on moisture content, ash content, fiber content, reduce sugar and colour but did not significantly  effect of taste, texture and overall assesment of jelly candy. The best formulation jellycandy was PN4 with water content 7.52%; ash content 2.02%; fiber content 1.60% and reduce sugar content 20.48%. Organoleptic scores of PN4 were 2.37 (red); 3.07 (sweet little sour); 3.46 (netral flavour); 3.93 (chewy) and 3.70 (overall) assesment of jelly candy.  Keyword:Jelly candy, red dragon fruit peel and pedada fruit.

Abstract

The purpose of this study the interaction KKBK with NPK and determined the best treatment for growing of twin sprouts oil palm seedlings  (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) in the subsoil ultisol medium. Research conducted at the Laboratory of Plant Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Pekanbaru. The study was conducted four months from February to May 2016, carried out with completely randomized design (CRD) factorial comprises two factors and 3 replications. KKBK first factor (K) comprises 4 levels : K0 = without KKBK, K1 = KKBK 12.5 tonnes/ha or 50 g/plant, K2 = KKBK 25 tonnes/ha or 100 g/plant, K3 = 37.5 tonnes KKBK/ha or 150 g/plant. The second factor NPK (P) comprises 4 levels : P0 = ¼ dose of 0.1125 tonnes/ha or 6.25 g/plant, P1 = ½ dose of 0.225 tonnes/ha or 12.5 g/plant, P2 = ¾ doses of 0.3375 tonnes/ha or 18.75 g/plant, P3 = 1 dose of 0.45 tonnes/ha or 25 g/plant. Each unit contains 2 plant samples. The parameters those observed were plant height, leaf number, stump diameter, root volume, seedlings fresh weight ,seedling dry weight, fresh and  dry weight of  shoot and roots. Data were analyzed with analysis of  variance and  Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) of 5%. The results showed interaction of KKBK 150 g/plant and NPK 25 g/plant in the nursery generate the highest of all the parameters compared to other treatments. Keywords : Compost of Cocoa Fruit skin (KKBK), NPK Fertilizer, Oil Palm Seedlings, Ultisol Subsoil.

Abstract

Guruh Gemurai Waterfall is one ofthe ecotourism object in Kuantan Singingi Regency, especially in Kuantan Mudik Subdistrict. This research aims to determine the public perception of ecotourism development of Guruh Gemurai Waterfall in Kasang Village, Kuantan Mudik Subdistrict, Kuantan Singingi Regency. This research was conducted directly in the field with data collection methods through questionnaires and interviews to the people of Kasang Village, Kuantan Mudik Subdistrict. Methods of taking respondents using Slovin formula with incidental techniques. Data collection in this research also uses observation and documentation in the field. The data obtained is then reduced to a summary presented in the form of brief descriptions, tables and graphs. Data analysis was done by qualitative, quantitative approach with percentage and Likert Scale. The development of ecotourism GuruhGemurai Waterfall in perception well with the percentage of communityanswers 84.04%.All elements of society in Kasang Village want more involved in the management and development of ecotourism GuruhGemurai waterfall. Key words: Community Perception, Development, Ecotourism, Guruh Gemurai Waterfall.

Abstract

The amount of waste generated logging plantation forests (HTI) come to the surface environmental impacts, whereas the waste can still function to use and processed into smoke liquid. Smoke liquid products was made from logging waste (HTI) can be used as an alternative to artificial fertilizers or chemicals. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the response of the acacia plants growth by administering smoke liquid. The benefits of this research is to develop the use of smoke liquid as a natural liquid fertilizers, find how to use smoke liquid as a natural fertilizers for the public plant acacia. Increase the economic value and was usability of waste industrial timber estates (HTI). This study uses a was completely randomized design (RAL) with 4 treatments 3 replications, in order to obtain 120 units of plants with each trial consisted of 10 plants. Results from the study can be showed that administration of smoke liquid affect the growth of plants Acacia mangium Willd. Treatment with a dose of smoke liquid 5 ml / 1 L of the water shows the most optimal response to plant growth compared to treatment with a dose of smoke  liquid 1 ml / 1 L of the water and 3 ml / 1 L of water. Giving liquid smoke on the best dose may increase as height, diameter and dry weight of seedlings Acacia mangium Willd. Keywords: Acacia mangium, Utilization, Smoke liquid, Waste industrial  forest plantations (HTI)

Abstract

The using synthetic chemical insecticide to continue and not prudently can be to come negative effect. So, to needed alternative controlling technic like as insecticide botanic. Insecticide botanic such as betel nut seed powder. Research aims to found a concentration of betel nut seed powder (Areca catechu L) wich is appropriate to killed sweet corn cob borer (Helicoverpa armigera Hubner). This research was conducted in the Laboratory of Plant Pests Agricultural Faculty University of Riau using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment will be used is the concentration of betel nut powder 0 g / l water, 30 g / l water, 40 g / l  water, 50 g / l water, 60 g / l water. The result showed concentration betel nut seed powder 50 g / l water is able to kill the larvae of   H. armigera is much as 90%. Key Words : betel nut seed  (Areca catechu L), sweet corn cob borer (Helicoverpa armigera Hubner), insecticide

Abstract

This research can be done in the frequency of the pruning of water shoots and the concentration of liquid supplementary fertilizer and the best combination in improving growth and yield of cayenne pepper. The experimental method was conducted experiments in the form of a 4 x 4 factorial experiment arranged according to Complete Randomized Design. The first factor is the pruning of water shoots. The second factor of liquid supplementary fertilizer given in the form of Bayfolan. The data those collected analyze with Anova and Duncan’s new Multiple Range Test at the 5% level. Parameters observed were plant height, stem diameter, first flower appeared, the age of the first harvest, length of fruit, fruit diameter, weight per fruit, total fruit count per plant and weight of fruit per plant. The frequency of pruning of water shoots has no effect on all parameters, except for total fruit per plant. The frequency of pruning of water shoots 1 time indicates the total fruit count per plant more than the frequency of pruning of adventive shoots. PPC concentration has no effect on all parameters, except for the length of the fruit. A PPC concentration of 3 cc/l water indicates the length of the fruit is longer than the other PPC concentration. The interaction of frequency of pruning of adventive shoots and PPC concentration has no effect on all parameters. Keywords: Cayenne pepper, pruning of water shoots, liquid supplementary fertilizer

Abstract

Rubber seed is not utilized optimally nowdays. One alternative to utilize the rubber seed is using it’s oil as cooking oil. This research was aimed to obtain optimal heating temperature variation on the cyanide acid content and the quality of cooking oil produced. This research was conducted by using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) experiment with five treatmens and three replications which followed by Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at level 5%. The treatmens in this research were P1 (70°C for 4 hours), P2 (temperature 80°C for 4 hours), P3 (temperature 90°C for 4 hours), P4 (100°C for 4 hours). The results of variance analysis show that the higher the heating temperature significantly decreased the average content of cyanide, acid value, density and moisture content but increased saponification value. Based on the results obtained, the best treatment in the rubber seed heating was P4 treatment (100°C for 4 hours) with cyanide acid content 1,42 ppm, acid value 1,38 mg KOH/g, saponification value 161,64 mg KOH/g, density 0,864 g/ml and moisture content 0,912 %.  Keywords: Heating temperature, rubber seed, cyanide acid, cooking oil.

Abstract

Forest has such great benefits for life. Various tangible and intangible benefit that can be obtained from the forest can also be optained from the arboretum. Although basicly arboretum serves as a means of education. Tangible and intangible benefits that could potentially be produced is still rate as low, causing excessive exploitation. Assessment the benefits of trees on a place at the price of economic value necessary to considen improve the bargaining position and transforming into economic value of money. The presence of trees also affect the micro climate (value coolness) around the arboretum. Becomes a problem when the arboretum was damaged because it was not able to provide coolness around the arboretum. The research was conducted in the arboretum area of Riau University Pekanbaru on December 2015. The purpose of this research was to determine the economic value of trees in the arboretum area of Riau University and determine the economic value of the coolness in the arboretum area of Riau University. The research result showed that the economic value of wood in Riau University arboretum is Rp. 951.852.785,54 and the economic value of coolness in Riau University arboretum is Rp 23.875.000.000.Keywords:Economic valuation of wood, the coolness, arboretum

Abstract

Jackfruit seeds and skim milk fermented by Lactobacillus casei subsp. casei R-68  expected to produce fermented milk that has more complete nutritional value and  health benefits. Lactobacillus casei subsp. casei R-68 was isolated from dadih, a type of fermented milk in West Sumatra, Indonesia. This study used Completely Randomized Design experiment with 6 treatments and 3 replications to obtain 18 experimental units. The data obtained were statistically analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). If F count is greater than or equal to F table then it continued with DNMRT test at 5% level. The results showed that pH of jackfruit seed fermented milk were 4,83-5,80, total lactic acid 0,52-1,17%, total solids 10.15-25.40%, protein content 23.76-6.16% and ash content 0.08-1.07% after fermentation.While descriptive assessment of which felt a bit acidic, yellowish white to white and its viscosity was dilute to thick and favored by panelists.Keywords: Jackfruit seeds, Lactobacillus casei subsp. casei R-68 and skim milk.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to : 1) Analyze revenue agroindustrial processing soybean milk powder SGN in Pekanbaru. 2) Analyzing profitalitas and efficiency of agroindustrial processing enterprises of soybean milk powder SGN in Pekanbaru. This research was carried out on an industrial soybean milk powder contained in Pekanbaru namely soybean milk powder industry SGN ( Source Nutrition Plant ) located at Jalan Ujung village Sidomulyo Seminai Eastern District of Marpoyan Peace RT 01 RW 08. Research was conducted on December 23, 2015 until January 25, 2016. The data used in this research is the primary data and secondary data. This study uses the case study method, which is a method of direct observation of the place of destination research. Based on data obtained will then be tabulated and analyzed according to the needs of research or as research purposes. The first objective of this research is to analyze the profit made by the agro-industry powdered soy milk. The first objective of this research is to analyze the profit made by the agro-industry powdered soy milk. The purpose of this study were analyzed by calculating the net profits of the agro-industry and analyzes the value of depreciation of equipment. The second objective of this research is to analyze the efficiency of agroindustrial agroindustrial soy milk powder. The purpose of this study was analyzed using analytical models of Return Cost Ratio ( RCR ). From research conducted in the agro-industry effort soybean milk powder in Pekanbaru City SGN can be summarized as follows.           Total costs incurred by employers for Rp.44.551.450/month. Revenue obtained businessman Rp . 64 million per month. Gains derived businessman Rp 19,448,550 / month and the value of agro-industry profitability soybean milk powder amounted to 30.39 % . So agroindustrial businesses profitable soybean milk powder for the value of profitability > 0.2. Agroindustrial businesses soy milk powder has been efficient for the R / C ratio of more than one in the amount of 1.44 means that every Rp.1,00 costs incurred in agroindustrial enterprises provide soybean milk powder amounted to 1.44 times the acceptance of the costs incurred. Key word: Agroindustrial soy milk powder, Revenues and Profits.
