Abstract

This research conducted to find out how palm oil seedlingsstage to response length waterloggingstress, to aims the best stage of palm oil seedlings that can resist waterlogging stress.This research was conducted at the Green House of Agriculture Faculty, RiauUniversity, sub-districsSimpang Baru,Tampan Districs, Pekanbaru from July to November 2015. The design of this research was Factorial Completely Randomized Design for 2 factors and 3 replication.The first factor was palm seedlings age:u0 = 3th month, u1 = 5th month, and u2 = 7th month, and the second factor was the length of waterlogging stress:g0 = without waterlogging stress, g1 = 20 days waterlogging stress and g0 = 40 days waterlogging stress.The parameter observed are: seedling height, number of leaf, stemdiameter, primary root length, number of primary root, root-shootratio, qualityseedlingindex and dry weight matter. The results showed that no interaction between seedling stageswithwaterlogging length stressor length of waterlogging stress toall of growth components palm oil seedling except seedling height. The growth palm oil seedling determined of palm oil seedling stages except primary root length. The height of 5th month palm oil seedlings reduced against 20 days of waterlogging stress, but increase againts to 40 daysof waterlogging stress.Keywords: palm oil seedlings, waterlogging stress, growth components.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect Guano dan NPK fertilizer for the get interaction aplication Guano and NPK fertilizer for the growth and productthe results shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.). This research was aplied at agriculture experiment station of agricultural faculty Riau University, Pekanbaru City. This research start from January and finish at March 2019. This is are experiment researh by using Randomized Group Design (RGD) consisting of two factor. The first factor is aplication guano fertilizer for the three doses is G1 (500 g per plot), G2 (1000 g per plot), G3 (1500 g per plot). The two factor is aplication NPK fertilizer to three doses is N1 (10 g per plot), N2 (20 g per plot), N3 (30 g per plot). Combination two factor this is are mine treatment and every combination treatment replication for the three at twenty seven unit experiment. The results of this research showed combination aplication Guano 10 ton.ha-1 and NPK fertilizer 200 kg.ha-1 are the best doses for the can increases growth and products shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) for the every parameters. Keywords : Allium ascalonicum L., Guano fertilizer, NPK fertilizer.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the position of a product and attribute of cassava chips in the market, such as cassava chips Ojo Lali, Dolphins, Grace, Leni Snacks, Qtela, Kingkong, and Primadona. It aims to determine the level of consumer preference towards a product. Besides there was still a lack of effort in developing the product by the manufacturer at this time. This research was conducted by using internal and external preference mapping among seven different brand of cassava chips products. Sensory analysis used was hedonic test and descriptive test involving Riau University students as respondents. The results of hedonic test were  analyzed using Agglomerative Hierarchical Clustering (AHC) and the results of the  descriptive test  were analyzed using  Principal Component Analysis (PCA). The sensory attributes used on the product chips were color, greasy, sweetness, bitter, salty, crunchy, brittle, thickness, taste cassava,and rancidity.  The conclusion of this results was product Qtela chips and  Leni Snacks.   keyword: Original cassava chips, preference mapping

Abstract

This study aims to determine the interaction of rice straw compost and P fertilizer on the growth and yield of soybean plants (Glycine max (L.) Merril). This research was conducted in the experimental station of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, starting from June to October 2017. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor was the dose of rice straw compost (K) consisting of K0: without the provision of rice straw compost, K1: Compost rice straw with a dose of 5 tons. Ha-1, K2: Compost rice straw with a dose of 10 tons. Ha-1, K3 : Compost Rice straw with a dose of 15 tons. Ha-1. The second factor is the dose of TSP fertilizer (P) which consists of P1: TSP 300 kg. Ha-1, P2: TSP 326 kg. Ha-1. The results of this study indicate that rice straw compost increases the growth and yield of soybean plants. Compost of rice straw can increase plant height, number of rice pods, total number of pods, yield per plot and weight of 100 seeds. Application of P fertilizer does not increase the growth and yield of soybean plants. The interaction of rice straw compost and P fertilizer did not increase the growth and yield of soybean plants. Keywords: Soybeans, rice straw compost, TSP fertilizer

Abstract

Pulai wood’s is used for produce any products and we can find it easily also it is able to be influenced in critical field, while durable grade is V and powerful class is IV-V and it is low-grade durable, because of that it is needed preservation on pulai wood. Many preservation using chemicals that are harmful to environment and humans. In utilizing natural ingredients derived from plants as safer alternative preservatives for environment and humans, it can be renewable for preserving wood from invading organisms wood destroying, especially termites. Material used as a preservative is liquid smoke empty baggase. The aims of this research are to determine termite mortality, retention and weight lose as well as know the effectiveness of giving liquid smoke on pulai wood preservation against termite attack. The methods used in this research is Randomized Complete Design, the concentration of liquid smoke baggase of 0%, 10%, 20% and 30% with 5 replication for 6 weeks is fed on termites. The results showed that using of preservatives smoke liquid at concentration of 30% has a value of lose weight on pulai wood of 10,57%/cm3, 100% termite mortality and retention of 5.57%.Key word: Liquid smoke, baggase, preservative, pulai wood and Coptotermes curvignathus Holmgren.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to obtained the best chitosanconcentration in making edible film from sweet potato starch. This research usedCompletely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments and threereplications. Data were obtained using analysis of variance (Anova) continued byDuncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) test at 5%. The treatments in thisresearch was K (chitosan 2%), K2 (chitosan 3%), K3 (chitosan 4%), K4 (chitosan5%) and K5 (chitosan 6%). The results of analysis of variance showed that theused different concentration of chitosan was significantly affected on the degreeon thickness, resistance of water, transparency of the value, and water vaportransmission rate. The best treatment in this research was treatment of K5(chitosan 6%) with degree of thickness 0,20 mm, resistance of water 21,77%,transparency of the value 2,12, and water vapor transmission rate 0,02 g/m2/h.Keyword: sweet potato starch, chitosan, edible film.

Abstract

This research aim to know which the waste has the big effect to increase the growth of coffee Robusta seedlings. The experiment has been conducted at the Experimental Farm of the Faculty of Agriculture. The experimental unit was arranged in a Completely Randomized Design with 6 treatments of waste fermentation ie without waste (L0), LCPKS (L1), tofu waste (L2), cow urine (L3), waste of reeds (L4), Banana skin waste (L5).Parameters observed were height increment (cm), number of leafesincrement, increase of stem diameter (cm), leaf area (cm2), dry weight of plant (g), and root canopy ratio. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance and the mean of each treatment was compared with Test of Honest Real Difference at 5% level.The results showed that the treatment of fermentation of tofuwaste  gave a best effect in increasing the growth of robusta coffee seeds aged 3-6 months.. Abstract

This study aims to get the best ratio between corncobs and rubber seed shells in making of charcoal briquettes. The study was carried out experimentally using a completely randomized design method which consisting of 5 treatments and 3 replications to obtain 15 experimental units. The treatments in the study were ratio of corncob charcoal and rubber seed shell charcoal as follows: P1 (90:10), P2 (80: 20), P3 (70 : 30), P4 (60: 40), and P5 (50: 50). The parameters observed in this study were water content, ash content, volatile matter content, bound carbon content, density, and calorific value. The results of variance showed that the percentage of corncobs and rubber seed shells gave a significant effect on water content, volatile matter content, and bound carbon content. Based on the results of the analysis, the best treatment in this study was P5 (50: 50), with 7.12% water content, 3.11% ash content, 17.25% evaporating content, 72.51% bound carbon content, and 0.42 g/cm3 density. Keywords: corncobs, rubber seed shells, briquettes

Abstract

The purpose of this study is (1) to analyze the income of smallholders with the integration of broiler farms (Broiler) in the Water Village Publishing Tapung District of Kampar regency. (2) to analyze the efficiency of farming sawitdengan integration broiler farms (Broiler) in the Water Village Publishing Tapung District of Kampar regency.(3) Comparing the incomes of smallholders with the integration of broiler farms (Broiler) in the Water Village Publishing Tapung District of Kampar regency. This research was conducted by survey by questionnaire. While the sampling is done Random sampling is random sampling technique. Net income of smallholders with the integration of broiler chickens is higher than the net income of smallholders without integration of broiler chickens , namely Rp.130.749.886,42 and Rp.23.343.559,91. With high production costs in because raising broiler chickens also provides a high income for farmers. Average - Average RCR obtained smallholders without integration of broilers by 2.5 artinyas ach expenditure of Rp.1 petaniakan make a profit of Rp.2,5 . RCR obtained by smallholders with broilers sebesar2.6 integration means that any expenditure of Rp.1 farmers will make a profit of Rp.2.6 , this means that farmed broiler integration palm fositif give effect to oil palm cultivation. Based on farming activities without integration palm and palm growers with integrated broiler concluded that equally benefit from having acquired RCR greater than one (RCR > 1).  Keyword: Revenue, Efficiency , Compariso

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the best type of packaging to wrap breadfruit cookies. Research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factor treatments and three replications. Treatment was different types of packaging as a first factor consist of A1 (without packaging), A2 (using wax paper), A3 (using plastic Polyethylene (PE)), and A4 (using plastic Polypropylene (PP)). As a second factor is the length of storage of B1 (14 days), B2 (28 days), and B3 (42 days). Parameters were water content, peroxide number, analysis of total bacterial, fungal identification (at the macro and micro) and organoleptic (descriptive and hedonic). The results showed interaction of type of packaging and length of storage significantly affected (P<0,05) the acquisition of the water content, peroxide number, and analysis of total bacterial. Type of packaging significantly affected (P<0,05) against the value of water content, peroxide number, and analysis of total bacterial. Length of storage significantly affected (P<0,05) against the value of water content, peroxide number, and analysis of total bacterial. Based on organoleptic assessment descriptively, breadfruit cookies are packed with plastic Polypropylene and plastic Polyethylene able to suppress rancidity that occurs during storage. Based on the organoleptic assessment as hedonic breadfruit cookies are packed with plastic Polypropylene and plastic Polyethylene preferred by the panelists. The best treatment is using type of packaging plastic Polypropylene.Keyword: Type of packaging, length of storage, cookies breadfruit.
