Abstract

Liquid waste containing high levels of pollutants sago, so need to do processing of biological, physical and chemical.This research was to study the symbiotic system of a complex microorganisms contained in B-DECO3 as a decomposer agent, with the addition of photosynthetic microoalgae Chlorella sp as an oxygen producer in reducing organic loads of sago milling effluent. The method used in the experiment with completely randomized design (CRD) comprised of 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were concentration variations of microorganisms B-DECO3 (0, 0.27, 0.55, 0.82 and 1.09 per cent v/v, respectively) with 800 ml/L (6.6 x 106 cell/ml) microalgae Chlorella sp. added up with waste sago milling effluent 1 liters of the liquid. Observations were made on day 0 and day to-7, except for the parameters pH, DO, and an abundance of cells is done every day. Data were analyzed statistically using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% level. The results showed the role of symbiotic mutualism can reduce levels of pollutants wastewater sago. The best treatment is the addition of bacterial decomposition P4 B-DECO3Chlorella sp 20 ml and 800 ml (abundance of 6.6 x 106 cells / mL). P4 treatment lowers the value of COD 90.29%, 82.74% BOD, TSS 84.52%, 82.85% Nitrate and Phosphate 98.66%, and increasing the pH value of 97.56%, 73.82% DO, and cell abundance 72.44% Chlorella sp.  Keywords: B-DECO3 microorganisms, Microalgae Chlorella sp, liquid waste sago

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the best ratio between carrot extract and red ginger to making instant powder drinking. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment used for carrot extract and red ginger extract is P1 = (80% : 20%), P2 = (70% : 30%), P3 = (60% : 40%), P4 = (50% : 50%). The data obtained were analyzed statistically using ANOVA and DNMRT at the level of 5%. The results showed that the ratio of carrot extract and red ginger extract had a significant effect on water content, ash content, sensory assessment descriptively (color, aroma, and taste) and hedonic (overall assessment) but were not significantly different from antioxidant activity. The selected instant powder extract of carrot extract and red ginger extract according to chemical analysis and descriptive and hedonic sensory assessment was treatment P4 (50% carrot extract: 50% red ginger extract). This selected treatment produced instant powder of carrot extract and red ginger extract which had moisture content of 2,50%, ash content of 1,47% and antioxidant activity of 0,24 ppm. Descriptive sensory assessment is brownish orange, ginger flavored and ginger flavored. An overall assessment of instant powder of carrot extract and red ginger extract was favored by panelist.

Abstract

The purpose of this study to determine interaction of some agricultural waste substrate with incubation time using crude extract of cellulolytic enzyme extracted from snail (Achatina fulica). This study used a randomized block design (RAK) in factorial pattern with two factors. The first factor was the time (W) incubation with four levels. The second factor was the type of substrate, namely agricultural wastes (L) which comprises four types. From both these factors retrieved 16 treatment and each treatment was repeated three times, so the retrieved data 48 units of the experiment. Data were analyzed statistically using ANOVA (Analysis of Variance). If F counted was greater or equal than to F table then the analysis continued by Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% level. The results of the protein crude extract of cellulolytic enzyme         1.712 mg/ml enzyme. The results of the highest glucose levels on a banana peel waste substrate interaction with the incubation time 180 minutes is                457.00 mg/100 ml. The highest enzyme activity result in the interaction of banana peels waste substrate with incubation time 180 minutes is 0.45 U/ml. Keywords: Cellulolytic enzyme crude extract of snail (Achatina fulica), agricultural waste substrate, and incubation time

Abstract

The aimed of the research to evaluate the influence of packaging type and time storage on ice cream soyghurt quality. This study used Completely Randomized Design with 2 factor treatments, packaging type (polipropilen and composite paper) and time storage (0 day, 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 4 weeks) followed by DNMRT test at 5%. The treatment in this study were K1T0 (polypropylene packing on 0 day storage), K1T1 ( polypropylene at 1 week storage), K1T2 (polypropylene at 2 weeks storage), K1T3 (polypropylene at 3 weeks storage), K1T4 (polypropylene on 4 weeks storage), and K2T0 (composite paper on 0 day storage), K2T1 (composite paper on 1 week storage), K2T2 (composite paper at 2 weeks storage), K2T3 (composite paper at 3 weeks storage), K2T4 (Composite paper at 4 weeks storage). Test results up to 4 weeks of soyghurt ice cream still comply with Indonesian National Ice Cream Standards. Soyghurt ice cream stored up to 4 weeks using polypropylene packaging is better than composite paper packaging with 19.18% fat content, total lactic acid bacteria 9.73 CFU/ml, acidity (pH) 4.61, melting time 22.63 minutes and overrun 29.64%. Key words : ice cream, soyghurt, packing type, storage time

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the effect of growing media combination and water application volume and to determine the best treatment on the growth of palm oil seedling (Elaeis guineensis jacq.)in main nursery. The research was carried out at the Agriculture experimental station faculty of agriculture, University of Riau, from September 2015 to Desember 2015. The research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors. Fist factor is growing medium combination consist of  3 levels of mixture ratio, M1 : Red Yellow Podzolic and Peat(1 : 1), M2 : Red Yellow Podzolic and Peat(2 : 1),M3 : Red Yellow Podzolic and Peat(3 : 1), second factor is water application volume consist of 3 levels which are, V1 : 800 ml/day, V2 : 1.000 ml/day, V3 : 1.200 ml/day. Data were analyzed with further test Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5%. Parameter observed are seedling height, number of leaf, stem diameter and leaf area. The result of the research showed that the usage of growing medium combination such Red Yellow with Peat Soil 2 : 1 and water application volume 1,2 l/day tend to give good palm oil seedling growth. It is suggested to carry further research with the addition more fertilizer sothat will influence all parameter.Key word ; peat, red yellow podzolic, palm oil seedling, water application volume.

Abstract

            The purpose of this study was to get the best ratio between pineapples puree and tapioca starch in the making of crackers. The research conducted using a complately randomize  design consists of five streatments and each was repeated three times. The treatments performed were PN1 (tapioca : pineapple puree 80%:20%), PN2(tapioca : pineapple puree 70%:30%), PN3(tapioka : pineapple puree 60%:40%), PN4(tapioca : pineapple puree 50%:50%), PN5(tapioca : pineapple puree 40%:60%), The data analyzed statistically using analysis of variance (Anova) and duncan’s new multiple range test (DNMRT) at 5% level. The result showed that the ratio between tapioca and pineapple puree the affected moisture content, ash content, vitamin C content, swelling power, and sensory test. The best treatment crackers from this research was crackers PN4(50%:50%) with had moisture content 2.14% ash content 2.49%, vitamin C 15,96 mg/100 g, content 15.96 mg, swelling power 48.79%, sensory test deskription color the                                   yellow browhnis, scant of pineapple test of pineapple, and crunchy texture. Abstract

The research aimed to get the interaction of organic manure and NPK fertilizer and determine the best treatment on growth and yield of shallot. The were research has been conducted on Randomized Completely Design Factorial. The first factor was the organic manure consist of without organic fertilizer (P0), chicken manure (P1), compost of empty fruit bunches oil palm (P2), vermicompost (P3) and rice straw compost (P4). The second factor was NPK fertilizer consist of three levels were without NPK fertilizer (N0), 10 g/m2 of NPK fertilizer (N1), and 20 g/m2 of NPK fertilizer (N2). Data analysed statistically with ANOVA and further tested using by Duncan`s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) of 5%. The parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, convolution of tuber, number of tubers per clumps, fresh weight of tubers per m2 and proper saving of tubers per m2. The results showed the application of organic manure and NPK fertilizer significantly affected on the plant height, number of leaves, convolution of tuber, number of tubers per clumps, fresh weight of tubers per m2 and weight of tubers shelf per m2.  Application of rice straw compost and 20 g/m2 of NPK fertilizer delivered the best growth and yield of shallot. Keywords: shallot, NPK fertilizer, chicken manure, vermicompost and rice straw compost

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to get the best ratio between noni and red ginger for making instan powder which was preferred instant by panelists and fulfilled standard instan powder. This research Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments and three replications which followed by Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5%. The Treatment were MJ1 (noni 10 g and red ginger 90 g), MJ2 (noni 20 g and red ginger 80 g), MJ3 (noni 30 g and red ginger 70 g), MJ4 (noni 40 g and red ginger 60 g) and MJ5 (noni 50 g and red ginger 50 g). The result of this research showed that the combination of noni and red ginger gave significant effect on water content, ash content, sucrose content, and organoleptic test. The best treatment  was MJ2 whichhad water content 1.14%; ash content 0.46% and sucrose  content 73.95%, with description colour grey to brown, flavour ginger and instan powder drink had colour yellow to brown, flavour ginger, taste ginger and overall assesment of instant powder. Keywords: Instant powder, red ginger and noni

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to analysis of rubber  farming system and loan repayment ability of rubber plantation of the farmers ex UPP TCSDP in Sub Unit Muara Lembu, Kuantan Singingi Regency. Survey method was conducted in 3 villages, involved Muara Lembu, Koto baru and Logas rubber farmers. Rubber plantation farmers taken by purposive amount 30 farmers as respondents, distributed 10 farmers in each village.The research result showed, that the rubber production of ex TCSDP plantation was 2146 kg ojol/year. The household farmer income was Rp. 48.718.147/year in average and the expenditure of household farmer was Rp. 19.783.266/year in average. The rest of the farmers ' credit with interest until 2015 is Rp. 3.543.422. There were 28 samples that have the ability to pay > 1 which means being able to pay the credits, but the 21 samples has not paid off until today with the biggest reason is the loss of information where to pay the debt. Keyword : rubber farmers, credit, productivity, TCSDP

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect and get the best microwave radiation period to control the pathogenic fungus of rice seeds while maintaining viability and seed vigor. This research was conducted in Plant Disease Laboratory, Plant Ecophysical Laboratory of Agriculture Faculty and Synthesis Organic Laboratory Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences University of Riau, Pekanbaru in February 2018. The study was using complete randomized design (RAL). The parameters observed were kind of seed born pathogenic fungus, incidence of seed born pathogenic fungus, seed viability and vigor through seed germination test, first count test and index value test. The detection results indicate that the isolate of the suspected pathogenic fungus of rice seed was Rhizoctonia sp. (isolate PK-1 and PK-7), Pyricularia sp. (isolate PK-3), Curvularia sp. (isolate PK-5 and PK-9) and unidentified fungus (isolate PK-2, PK-4, PK-6 and PK-8). The total incidence of fungi from rice seed on 60 seconds of radiation effectively reduced the incidence percentage to 38% lower than the duration of other radiation and without radiation. Radiation treatment for 15 seconds was the best treatment obtained because it was able to suppress the incidence percentage by 84.67% with a 92% seed germination, 49.67% first count sprout and 1.5%/etmal speed sprout.Keywords: microwaves,radiation period, rice seeds, seed born pathogenic fungus, seed germination
