Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aimed was to find out  the acceptance of panelists on the ice cream with red dragon fruit peel as food additive and to analyzed the business feasibility of the ice cream. Acceptance analysis showed that there significantly no difference between ice cream with red dragon fruit peel and commercial  ice cream, that means panelist can accept the ice cream with red dragon fruit as food additive. Business analysis showed that  ice cream business with capacity 10 kg will be efficient , with total cost  Rp.311,201.48. break even point value were 88.91 cups and can give adding value Rp 70.300,00.   Keywords:ice cream, red dragon fruit, business analisist.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to get the precise formulation of the red ginger extract and carrageenan thus producing jellycandies with good quality and appropriate quality standard based on SNI 3574-2-2008 jelly candies. This study was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) with five treatments and three replications. The treatment in this study was JK1 = red ginger extract + carrageenan (41.50 + 7.50), JK2 = red ginger extract + carrageenan (40.50 + 8.50), JK3 = red ginger extract + carrageenan (39.50 + 9.50), JK4 = red ginger extract + carrageenan (38.50 + 10.50), and JK5 = red ginger extract + carrageenan (37.50 + 11.50). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance and in a further test using DNMRT at 5% level. The treatment provides significant effect on moisture content, ash content, acidity (pH), reducing sugar, antioxidant and colour, aroma, taste descriptively. The best treatment in this study was JK1 = red ginger extract + carrageenan (41.50 + 7.50), with a water content of 12.84%, ash content of 0.85%, the degree of acidity (pH) 6.47, reducing sugar 19.74% and antioxidant 2.77 µg/ml as well as having the characteristics of 3.13 (slightly yellow-brown colour), 2.10 (ginger-flavored red), 2.23 (spicy flavor) and 3.20 (slightly chewy texture) and an overall assessment of jelly candy ginger extract and preferably carrageenan by panelist’s. Keywords :Jelly, red ginger and carrageenan.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to determine the effect guano and N fertilizer and to get the best interaction for the growth and production of sweet corn crops(Zea mays saccharata Sturt). The research was conducted at Experimental Station of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. The study was conducted for four months from November 2017 until January 2018, implemented withCompletely Randomized Block Design (RAK), Factorial consisting of 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor of guano fertilizer (G) consists of 3 levels: G0 = guano fertilizer with dose 1.500 kg.ha-1 (600 g/4 m2), G1 = guano fertilizer with dose 2.000 kg.ha-1 (800 g/4 m2), G2 = guano fertilizer with dose 2.500 kg.ha-1(1000 g/4 m2). The second factor of urea (N) consists of 3 levels: N0 = urea with dose 0 kg.ha-1 (0 g/4 m2), N1 = urea with dose 50 kg.ha-1 (20 g/4 m2),N2 = urea with dose 100 kg.ha-1 (40 g/4 m2 ). The observed parameters were plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, harvesting age, weight of cob/plot weight without cob/plot, length of ear, ear diameter, number of rows of seeds/ear, sugar content in seeds. The results showed guano fertilizer with dose 2.500 kg. ha-1 and urea with dose 100 kg. ha-1 resulted in plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, harvesting age, the weight of cob/plot weight without cob/plot, length of ear, ear diameter, number of rows of seeds/ear, sugar content in the seeds were higher compared to other treatments. Abstract

One effort to improve the chemical properties of peat soils and the growth of rubber trees is by planting a legume cover crop Mucuna bracteata. The research aims to determine the chemical properties of the soil and the growth of rubber trees in peat soils without overgrown Mucuna bracteata with peat soils ex overgrown Mucuna bracteata and peat soil that overgrown Mucuna bracteata. The research was conducted in January – March 2016 in peat land at social plantation areal of PT. RAPP Teluk Meranti. The research was conducted by survey method where the determination of location specified by Stratified Random Sampling method and the determination of sample point specified by Simple Random Sampling method. The results showed that peat soil which is overground Mucuna bracteata has a pH value, C-organic, N-total, P-total, KTK, KB and the growth of rubber trees better than peat soils ex overgrown Mucuna bracteata and peat soils withouth overgrown Mucuna bracteata.Keywords : Peat soil, chemical properties, Mucuna bracteata, rubber.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the interaction of sludge and phosphorus fertilizers and to obtain the best dose in increasing the growth and production of sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt) on inceptisol soil in experimental station of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau from January 2018 to March 2018 using Randomized Block Design (RAK) method consisting of two factors and three replications. The first factor was solid waste of palm oil (sludge) with 3 levels ie 0, 10 and 20 ton.ha-1, second factor of SP-36 fertilizer with 3 levels ie 75, 100 and 125 kg.ha-1. The data obtained were analyzed by using ANOVA and followed by HSD test at the 5 % level. The observed parameters were plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, root canopy ratio, male flower appeared, female flower, cob diameter, ear length, cob weight per plot, weight of cob weighing and cob weight without weight. Sludge waste of 20 tons. ha-1 and fertilization of SP-36 doses 125 kg. ha-1 gave the best results for all observation parameters ie plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, root shoot ratio, speed up male flowers appears and female flowers appear, the diameter of the ear, the length of the ear, the weight of the cob per plot, the weight of the cob weighs and the weight of the cob without the weights. Keywords: Sludge, SP-36 fertilizer, Inceptisol, sweet corn

Abstract

Nypa sap was material for making palm sugar be easily to damage due to microbial contamination. It can be prevented by the addition of lime solution and mangosteen rind powder. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect addition of lime solution and mangosteen rind powder to nypa sap for making palm sugar. This study used Randomized Block Design (RBD) with five treatments and three replications, followed by DNMRT test at 5% level. The treatment for this study were GM1 (2% lime solution), GM2 (2% lime solution and 2,5% mangosteen rind powder), GM3 (2% lime solution and 5% mangosteen rind powder), GM4 (2% lime solution and 7,5% mangosteen rind powder), GM5 (2% lime solution and 10% mangosteen rind powder). Results of research showed that the addition of lime solution and mangosteen rind powder give real effect to moisture content, ash, reducing sugar, sucrose, unsoluble solid, pH and sensory assessment. The best treatment to obtain palm sugar was GM3 with moisture content of 7.82%, ash of 1.65%, reducing sugar of 6.12%, sucrose of 79.25%, unsoluble solid of 1.03%, pH palm sugar of 7.10 and it have hard texture, color brown, sweet, aroma palm sugar and preference test of panelis was like. Keywords: palm sugar, nypa, lime solution, mangosteen rind powder.

Abstract

The oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is a plant that has a fairly high economic value because it produces the world's largest vegetable oils. In Indonesia oil palm has a significance for the national economy, in addition to being able to create jobs as well as a source of obtaining country (foreign country). This research aims to know the influence of biogas liquid waste against the growth of seedlings of Palm and get a dose of the best nursery Pre-Nursery. Research using randomized complete design (RAL) non factorial consists of 5 treatments and four replicates. As for the treatment of: P0: 0 ml liquid waste biogas/plant, P1: 20 ml liquid waste/biogas plants, P2: 40 ml liquid waste/biogas plants, P3: 60 ml liquid waste biogas/plant, P4: 80 ml liquid waste/biogas plants. Based on the results of the analysis of the variety that the average grant of liquid waste biogas influential real against the high seeds, number of seeds, leaves diameter of seedlings, seeds, and dry weight ratio of oil palm seedlings root header in Pre-Nursery age ≤ 3 months. The best doses against the growth of seedlings of Palm Pre Nursery-aged ≤ 3 months i.e. 80 ml/plant. Key words: oil palm, waste biogas

Abstract

Pineapple and mangosteen peel can be used as ingredients in making instant drinks. This research aims to get the best ratio of pineapple extract and mangosteen peel extract to instant drinks product, and measure the level of preference of panelists.Research method was Completely Randomized Designed which consisted of five treatments and each treatment was repeated three times. Treatments of pineapple and mangosteen were 100%, 90%, 10%, 80%, 20%, 70%, 30%, and 60%,40%. The data were statistically analyzed by the Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% level. Results of analyzed showed that the ratio of pineapple extract and mangosteen extract significantly affected water content, ash content, pH, total sugar content, antioxidant activity, color, taste, and flavour. Based on this research, the best treatment was the product  consist of pineapple extract and mangosteen peel extract 90%; 10% which had moisture of 2,95%, ash content of 0,85%, pH of 5,86, total sugar content of 64,66%. Sensory assessment of instant drink by panelist showed that the drink had a yellow color, pineapple aroma. Keywords: Instant drink, pineapple extract, mangosteen feel extract.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the role of farmer group what is already run  in oil palm farm at Bukit Lingkar Village Batang Cenaku District Indragiri Hulu Regency.Method which used in this research was census method. Intake of sampel conducted by purposive sampling on the farmer group which active in oil palm farm with different year growth. Data analysis used likert scale. The result showed that the role of farmer group had good enough role seen from average value of the role equal to 2,99 (Enough Role) in oil palm farm activity at Bukit Lingkar Village. This condition seen from the role of farmer group as classroom learning place with score equal to 2,91 (Enough Role), cooperation place with score equal to 3,01 (Enough Role), and production unit place with score equal to 3,04 (Enough Role).
