Abstract

ABSTRACTOral anti-hyperglycemic drug is one of the pharmacological treatment of type 2diabetes melitus (DM).Oral anti-hyperglycemic is use when the patient fails to respondat least three months of carbohydrates low diet and energy with physical activity is recommended, after which efforts lifestyle changes, the blood glucose levels constant above 200 mg/dL and HbA1c above 6.5%. This study was purposed to determine the pattern of oral anti-hyperglycemic in hospitalized patients with Type 2 Diabetes Melitus at Ibnu Sina Islamic Hospital Pekanbaru at 2014. The type of research was descriptive. The samples are 65 people included all hospitalized patients with type 2 diabetes melitus according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data retrieved from the medical records of hospitalized patients with type 2 diabetes melitus in Ibnu Sina Islamic Hospital Pekanbaru period from January to December 2014. The most characteristics of subject was average of age 56.83 (± 10.84) years, the average of random blood glucose level 290.91 (± 124.5) mg/dL, female sex (55.4%), not working (39.6%), BPJS and personal finance (46.2%), and diagnosis of hospitalized patients type 2 diabetes melitus with other diseases (49,2%). The most oral anti-hyperglycemic drug used is inhibitor of gluconeogenesis (54.1%), the most daily doses of oral anti-hyperglikemic drug was metformin 1000 - 1500 mg/day (35,4%). The most administration of oral anti-hyperglikemic drug is oral single drug (60%).Keywords: pattern, oral anti-hyperglycemic drug, type 2 diabetes melitus

Abstract

ABSTRACTNasopharyngeal carcinoma is a malignant tumor derived from epithelial cells in the nasopharynx. The rates of nasopharyngeal carcinoma has increased in the region of the head and neck. In 2010, nasopharyngeal carcinoma ranks 5th out of 10th. This study is descriptive with retrospective design that aimed to determine the distribution of nasopharyngeal carcinoma at hospitals in Pekanbaru from 2009-2013. The data collected from anatomical pathology laboratory center and hospitals in Pekanbaru, including: gender, age, histopathologic types and occupation. The result showed that there was 199 cases of nasopharyngeal carcinoma with the highest case found in 2013 were 92 (24,6%). The highest case found in Arifin Achmad Hospital were 92 (46,2%) and the lowest rates was in the Army hospital and Bhayangkara with 1 (0.5%) case. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma mostly infected male 130 (65,3%) cases than female 69 (34,7%) cases. The age range of 45-54 years had 56 (28.1%) cases. Most of histopathologic types had found in the type of undifferentiated carcinoma (WHO type III) as many as 136 (68,3%) cases. The most occupation is farmer and housewifes as many as 32 (16.1%) cases.Key words : nasopharyngeal carcinoma, distribution, histopathologic type.

Abstract

ABSTRACTType 2 diabetes mellitus is caused by many factors which is characterized by chronic hyperglicemic resulting from defects in insulin secretion, insulin action, or both. The prevalence of diabetes mellitus in Indonesia was increase from previous years. It was caused by demographic factor and westernized lifestyle. The aim of this study is to find the description of nutritional status of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients in internal medicine ward in RSUD Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau. This is a descriptive study with cross sectional approach with 30 respondents. Nutritional status was assessed by measurement of body mass index, mid-upper arm circumference, and waist circumference. This study showed that 90% of respondents were 40-65 years old with 36,7% male and 63,3% female. Nutritional status based on body mass index, many respondents were obesity grade I (33,3 %), 30 % of respondents were normal, 20% were overweight, 13,3% were underweight and 13,3% were obesity grade II. Based on mid-upper arm circumference, 40% of respondents were CED and 60% without CED. Based on waist circumference, 63,3% of respondents were central obesity and 36,7% were normal.Key words : Type 2 diabetes mellitus, nutritional status, body mass index, mid-upper arm circumference, waist circumference

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe disease pattern which caused mortality today is switchover from communicable disease to non-communicable disease, including the disease which caused malignancy. Malignancy case is in the second list after cardiovascular disease. One of the malignancy cases that often happen is soft tissue sarcoma. Based on estimation data, the number of the new case and mortality number by cancer in Dharmais Hospital in Jakarta 2012-2013, soft tissue sarcoma is the top 10 cancer caused. The aim of this research is knowing the distribution of soft tissue sarcoma in Pekanbaru’s Hospital between 2009-2013 based on histopathology check examination, age and sex. This research is using descriptive method, cross-sectional type. The data is taken from histopathology answer check sheet in center of diagnostic anatomical pathology laboratory and from hospitals in Pekanbaru. The result shows that the number of soft tissue sarcoma is about 195 cases. The most case happens in Arifin Achmad general hospital Riau Province which reaches about 116 cases. Soft tissue sarcoma most found in female (60%) than male. The age is between 40-49 years old, meanwhile histopathology’s type that often found is rhabdomyosarcoma, it is about 17,9%.Key words : soft tissue sarcoma, distribution, histopathology’s type

Abstract

ABSTRACTResilience is the ability of individuals to adjust and adapt to change, the demands and disappointments that arise in life. Resilience can affect individuals in coping with stress, by Therefore, the individual must have resilience. The level of stress each indvidu influenced by an individual's ability to perform self-adjustment to the changes that occur. Good resilience can help a person in the face of stress. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between resilience ourselves on the level of stress on clerkship Riau University School of Medicine. Cross sectional analytic correlative design to 83 clerkship who selected by total sampling. Collecting data using questionnaire resilience based Connor- Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) and the Medical Student stressor Quisionaaire (MMSQ) using online questionnaire (goole docs). Data analyzed bivariat by Spearman correlation test and p value = 0.552, r = -0.066, meaning that there is no meaningful relationship with a weak correlation between the resilience of the level of stress on clerkship Riau University School of Medicine.Keywords: resiliensi, stress level, clinical clerkship

Abstract

ABSTRACTBloodstain found at the crime scene can be one of the evidences of criminal action. To diminish the evidences and traces, the criminal might clean and erase the bloodstain by using alcohol based antiseptic handsanitizer which often used by people in daily life. The bloodstain which is contaminated by the alcohol-based antiseptic handsanitizer could possibly affect the result of a bloodstain examination by using the Teichmann test and the Takayama test. This research had been done to observe the image of hemoglobin crystals on bloodstains that are exposed to alcohol-based antiseptic handsanitizers by using the Teichmann and Takayama test. In this research there are 5 types of alcohol-based antiseptic handsanitizer brands swabbed on to bloodstained slides for each test. The result shown on 22 slides (100%) had positive result. This conclude the hemoglobin crystals could still be found on bloodstains which exposed to alcohol-based antiseptic handsanitizer.Keywords: Bloodstain, hemoglobin crystals, alcohol-based antiseptic handsanitizer, Teichmann test, Takayama test.

Abstract

ABSTRACTSelf-concept is self image of individual about himself or herself that was formed through the experiences gained from interaction with environment. Interpersonal communication is a communication that happen between two or more people by direct contact through face to face or communication media in the form of a conversation to get a response directly. Clerkship must have self-concept and good interpersonal communication. The aim of this study was to find out the self-concept and interpersonal communication of clerkships in Medical Faculty of Riau University. Desain of this study used descriptive with cross-sectional method. Samples of this study were 155 clerkships who selected by minimal sample which will be divided in every station with proportional random sampling. Collecting data used self-concept questionnaire developed by the researcher based on theory of Fitts and interpersonal communication questionnaire based on theory of Devito. The result indicate that self-concept of clerkships in Medical Faculty of Riau University were positive (53,5%). The dimensions of self-concept in order from the highest to the lowest are judging self, moral-ethical self, family self, personal self, physical self, identity self, social self and behavior self. Whereas the majority of interpersonal communication were moderate category (69,7%) and there were not significantly different in characteristics of interpersonal communication effectiveness.Keywords: self-concept, interpersonal communication, clerkship

Abstract

ABSTRACTCaesarean section has high risk of surgical site infection (SSI). This research explain about surgical site infection after caesarean section in RSUD Arifin Achmad Province of Riau 1 January – 31 December period. The method of this research is retrospective descriptive. The source of data were taken from medical record of patient that underwent caesarean section in RSUD Arifin Achmad Province of Riau. This research found 573 patients that underwent caesarean section in 2014. The number of SSI in this research is 3.49% (20 patients). Based on the characteristics, the SSI were found most in the age of 18-34 years, the normal nutritional status and obesity level one and level of elementary education. Based on preoperative condition, the SSI were found most in the preoperative hemoglobin ≥11 g/dl, preoperative diagnosis with the complications and were not given prophylactic antibiotics. Based on intraoperative conditions, the SSI were found most in cito surgery, Pfannenstiel incision and amount of bleeding <1000 ml with an average duration of surgery 58.75 minute. Based on postoperative condition, the SSI were found most in the period <5 days. The conclusion from this research is the incidence of surgical site infection after caesarean section at Arifin Achmad 1 January – 31 December period is good enough according to the prevalence of the SSI in Indonesia.Key word : surgical site infection, caesarean section, feature of patient

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe raising of blood glucose that occurs due to disruption of the regulation of blood glucose which is part of the non-specific reaction to the occurrence of stress or tissues damage called stress hyperglycemia. Stress hyperglycemia is common in acute diseases such as stroke, which significantly affect patient outcomes that can be assessed with the Barthel Index. The aim of this study was to find out the relationship between stress hyperglycemia with Barthel index in patients with acute non-hemorrhagic stroke. This study using analytic observational method with cross sectional design. The sample are acute non-hemorrhagic stroke patients totaling 38 patients who conform the inclusion criterias. Results of the study of 38 patients, is the prevalence of stress hyperglycemia prevalence cases totaled 23 people (60.52%) in non-acute hemorrhagic stroke. Showed that Barthel Index acute non-hemorrhagic stroke patients are heavy dependence (21-61) of 21 patients (55.26%), followed by 3 patients (7, 89%) with a full dependence (0-20), 13 patients ( 34.21%) with moderate dependence (62-90) and 1 patient (2.63%) with mild dependence (91-99). There is no correlation between stress hyperglycemia with Brthel Index with the value of (r = 0.059) and the value of (p = 0.654). So, based on this research most of the respondents in this study suffered from stress hyperglycemia but there is no correlation between stress hyperglycemia with Barthel Index and most of the patients has a bad interpretation of Barthel Index. Abstract

ABSTRACTSchool-age children need a good nutrition to support learning activities at school. Nutritional intake will affect the concentration of power and intelligence of the child in receiving and absorbing the knowledge gained in school. The purpose of this study was to describe the nutritional status and nutrient intake in children of primary school in Sungai Sembilan, Dumai City. This research is a descriptive study with cross-sectional design. Respondents in this research were 153 boys and 192 girls were calculated BMI by measuring height and weight. Dietary intake assessment done by asking parents to fill the food record. Nutritional status is divided into very thin, thin, normal, obese and very obese, based on anthropometric indices while food intake consists of energy intake, carbohydrate, protein and fat. Children with very poor nutritional status of 3,5%, children with malnutrition status of 3,5%, obese children with nutritional status of 16.5%, the nutritional status of children with very fat 2,6% The majority of children receive the intake deficit Energy 36.5%, 52.2% less carbohydrates, less protein and less fat 41.7 43.5%.Keywords : children of school age, nutritional status, nutrient intake
