Abstract

ABSTRACTOne of the pollutants that insert to the Sail River is a heavy metal. The effort that will the researcher do to reduce the level of heavy metal (Pb and Cr) is using the biocord. Biocord is a rope from the three-dimension of woven fine fiber that can hold the microorganisms in a large quantity. This research uses the raffia media so that this research names biorafia. This research aims to determine the effect of biorafia density toward the decreasing level of heavy metal such as Pb and Cr on the water of the Sail River. This research has done in March - April 2019. In this research, the researcher uses a completely randomized design (CRD) method using 3 treatment levels, and 3 replications. 3 treatment levels of biorafia density are P1 (rare), P2 (moderate), and P3 (dense). The result shows us a decreasing level of heavy metal such as Pb and Cr. The decreasing values of the heavy metal level of Pb are P1 (0.071 mg / L), P2 (0.074 mg / L), and P3 (0.073 mg / L). Also, the decreasing values of the heavy metal level of Cr are P1 (0.055 mg / L), P2 (0.056 mg / L), and P3 (0.055 mg / L).Keywords:Biorafia density, heavy metals, lead, chromium

Abstract

ABSTRACT Production ornamental fish in Indonesia, especially freshwater aquaculture has become an important livelihood for the community and is one alternative to increase the production of Indonesian ornamental fish exports. One of the fish that has the potential to be developed because this fish is one of the popular fish for fish lovers and has economic value is the Platy Mickey Mouse (Xiphophorus maculatus) fish. Color is one of the reasons for ornamental fish that is in demand by the community, so that farmers need to maintain the color of ornamental fish by feeding them with color pigments. Rebon shrimp flour (Mysis relicta) plays a good role in fish coloring because it contains astaxsanthin carotenoids. This study aims to determine the effect of the addition of rebon shrimp flour with different doses on the quality of the color of Platy mickey mouse fish. The method used in this study is the experimental method and the design used is a completely randomized design (RAL) of 1 factor with 4 levels of treatment and 3 (three) times of repetition, thus there are 12 units of experiment. The treatment in this study are: P0 = Feed without mixture of rebon shrimp (control), P1 = Addition of 5% rebon shrimp flour to feed, P2 = 10% addition of rebon shrimp flour in feed, P3 = Addition of 15% rebon shrimp flour to feed. Platy mickey mouse fish seeds which are used 2-3 cm in size are stocked in an aquarium with a volume of 7 liters of water / aquarium and the stocking density of each container is 6 tails. Maintenance lasts for 40 days and feed is given by adsatiation, feeding frequency 3 times a day. Parameters observed include changes in color quality, absolute weight growth, absolute length, survival rate and water quality. The results showed that the addition of rebon shrimp flour to feed significantly affected the color increase in Platy mickey mouse fish seeds (Xiphophorus maculatus), where the treatment of P3 (15% rebon shrimp flour) was able to increase the color 12.91 ± 0.69, but did not significantly affect weight growth absolute and absolute length growth of the fish Platy Mickey Mouse (Xiphophorus maculatus). Keywords: staining; Commercial Feed; Rebon Shrimp (Mysis relicta); Platy Mickey Mouse Fish (Xiphophorus maculatus).

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aims of this study are to determine the condition of the coral reefs including percentage live coral cover, the diversity index, the uniformity index, and the dominance index of  lifeform coral at waters of Tidung Island Kepulauan Seribu Jakarta. This research has been conducting from 2018 May 7th - 17th at the waters of Tidung Island. The research station was divided into 3 stations based on environmental characteristics with 2 different depths ; 3 and 7 meters. The research station is a coral conservation area, snorkeling area, and natural area. Data of coral reef was obtained by using the Line Intercept Transect (LIT) method. The results showed that the conditions of coral reefs at stations 1 and 2 respectively in the bad category with the percentage of cover area are 3.52% and 10.84%. Whereas at station 3 the condition of coral reefs is in the medium category with the percentage of cover area is 30.01%. The low percentage of coral cover is caused by rising sea water temperatures, port activities and human activities. Water quality such as temperature, salinity, pH, current velocity and brightness at the study site is quite good for coral recovery and growth. Keyword : LIT, Coral Recovery, Diversity, Uniformity, and Dominance Index
