Abstract

AbstractMystus nigricepscommonly inhabit the Tarai River that has been polluted  and it may affects the reproductive biology of the fish. A study aims to understand the reproductive biology of M. nigriceps has been conducted. The fish was sampled        5 times, once/two weeks, from April to July 2019. Parameters measured were Sex Ratio, Gonad maturity Level, Gonad Somatic Index (GSI), fecundity and egg diameter. Results shown that there were 34 males and 66 females (sex ratio 1:2). Male fish was indicated by the presence  of white spot in  tail and it has pointed genital papilla.  The  genital papilla of female is blunt. The size of male ranged from 73.01-140.22 mm (SL), while that of the female ranged from 59.67-160.21 mm (SL). The GSI of male ranged from 0.12 to 13.06%, while that of the female was 0.33-15.35%. The fecundity was 4.644 to 34.938 eggs/fish and egg diameter was 0.4 to 0.7 mm. The eggs in all size distribute evenly in the ovary and it indicates that this fish is a total spawner. Keywords : Catfish, Sex Ratio, Gonad Somatic Index, Total Spawner

Abstract

Abstract            Channa lucius or snakehead fishinhabit the Kampar Lama Oxbow Lake. This research aims to understand the pattern of otolith growth rings ofthat fish and it was conducted in July to August 2019. The fish were caught using fish trap, once/week. There were 58 fishes (38 male fishes and 20 female fishes). The otolith (sagita) were removed and manually shaved. Growth ring pattern was studied using a binocular microscope. Among the fishes captured, only 49 fishes have dark growth rings in their otolith.  The otolith length was 5.49-9.87 mm and their weight was 0.0212-0.0635 g. The number of dark ring in the otolith was 1-3. Result shown that the distance between the nucleus and the first dark ring ranges from 0.2-1.45 mm, indicating that the first dark ring were formed individually and they were not formed by periodical incident in the fish life. Water quality in the sampling area was good and it may be sufficient to support the life of C. lucius. Keywords :dark ring, channidae, growth pattern , sagita

ABSTRACT            This research was conducted in July 2019 at the Sibolga Archipelago Fisheries Port. he purpose of this study is to calculate the productivity of purse seine vessels and fishermen, as well as determine the factors that influence fisheries productivity at the Sibolga Archipelago Fishery Port. Productivity of capture and annual purse seine capture units on 10 vessels has increased and decreased each year due to settings, weather and season. Productivity of capture and annual purse seine capture units on 10 vessels has increased and decreased each year due to settings, weather and season. The productivity of fishermen in the purse seine line has increased and decreased 10 units of vessels in the Sibolga Archipelago Fisheries Port because the number of fishermen does not match the weight of the ship. Factors that affect fishing productivity are the weight of the ship (GT) and the number of crew (fishermen). By obtaining the results of multiple regression equations is Y = -18221 + 728X1 – 48,8X2 + 0,00014X3. Keywords: productivity, purse seine fisihing gear, fishierse port Sibolga

Abstract

ABSTRAC  Pariaman Regency coastal area is affected by current and tide from Indian Ocean that contribute the presence of microplastic in that area. To understand the microplastic types and density, a research has been conducted in May-July 2019. There were 3 sampling sites (Pantai Mangguang, Pantai Ampalu and Pantai Gandoriah) and there were 3 plots (50x50 cm) placed in each site. Sediment inside the plot was scrapped 5 cm depth. The sediment was then sieved (5 and 1 mm mesh size), dried and soaked in 35% NaCl. The floating microplastics were then collected and identified using a dissecting microscope. Results shown that there were 4 types of microplastic present, they were film, fragmen, fiber and foam. The most common microplastic found was film (1,360item/m3). The density of microplastic found in the sampling site ranges from 400 - 1,840 item/m3. In the intertidal zone, the highest density of microplastic was found in the highest tidal level (2000 item/m3). Keywords: Plastic Pollution, Intertidal Zone, Sediment, Film.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Sail River is one of the Siak watersheds that have been polluted due to high levels of TSS. This study aims to determine the level of reduction in TSS levels by using different bioijuk densities. This research was conducted in March-April 2019. The method used was a completely randomized design (CRD), which was used as treatment, was bioijuk density. P¬1 (infrequent density), P2 (medium density) and P3 (meeting density), and 3 replications. The sampling location is selected in the inlet and outlet area. The results of the measurement of the average reduction in the highest TSS levels were found in P2, 207 mg / L with a reduction in effectiveness (EP) of 97%. From the results of the study, it was known that the density of different bioijuk did not significantly influence the decrease in TSS, levels in the Sail River water. Keywords : Bioijuk, Continuous Solids, Dissolved Solids, Turbidity, Bacteria
