Abstract

Water is an important requirement in day life. Meet the needs of clean water Campus University of Riau currently uses only ground water that comes from bored wells. The dringking water for academic community of the campus uses water refill. The planning for dringking water supply system of Riau University campus aims to complete the water needs for academic community of Riau University with dringking water quality. The bored water will become of raw water into dringking water treatment plant with the installation site water treatment plant located east of the university faculty of fisheries Riau (0o28’47,62”N 101o23’05,24”E). The planning was done 10 years periode, with the total flowrate 6,58 L/s. Result of the treatment planned consist of bored well,neutralization, filtration (rapid sand filter), reverse osmosis, desinfection, and reservoir. The cost required to build a system of drinking water treatment plants campus University of Riau are Rp 2.405.454.302,00.Keywords: Water drinking, water treatment plant, campus University of Riau

Abstract

Peat water potentially damage and attack calcium, reduce the strength and accelerate corrosion of mortar and caused significant degradation in the long term. This study aims to determine resistance acid to cement with using added materials were exposed to acidic water. Two types of hardened cementing materials, such as Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) and Rice Husk Ash (RHA) will be soaked in regular water and peat water. Cement was replace with 15% of rice husk ash. The acid resistance of cements was test by compressive strength, sorptifity, and porosity. There was a considerable decrease in the compressive strength of mortar OPC after exposure to acid attacks from peat water. This research show mortar with rice husk ash was more resistant in peat water for 91 days.Keywords: Acid, Cement, Peat Water, Rice Husk Ash, Resistance.

Abstract

Long Term Evolution (LTE) is a technology that became a trend recently. Bengkalis Regency is area has not yet applied LTE technology optimally and even there is no positive change. This condition be basis for this paper. This paper uses design and simulation of Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) 900 MHz through Atoll Software, based on research that has been done previously in several other areas. FDD design is done with four scenarios that results will be compared, to see the best parameter in that area. There was used frequency 900 Mhz with bandwith 5 MHz and 10 MHz, 1800 MHz with bandwith 5 MHz and 10 MHz. That compared in that scenario are signal level, uplink and downlink CINR analysis, Service Area Analysis downlink and uplink and Monte Carlo analysis. The best scenario is a scenario with a frequency 900 MHz, bandwidth 10 MHz and required number of cells at least 137 eNodeB. Signal coverage level is capable of reaching ≤ -65 dBm, while the downlink CINR signal level ≥ 2,479 dB and ≥ 17 dB for uplink CINR signal level. While for Monte Carlo simulation can reach connected user is 81,4% which is connected, for uplink and downlink throughput reaching ≥ 1 Mbps.Keywords: LTE, Atoll, FDD, 900MHz

Abstract

Battery is an alternative energy source and it is important for energy storage. Battery is often used as energy reserves but the energy in the battery is not able to maintain for longer time. Therefore the battery need to be recharged. This paper proposed a push-pull converter design which is supplied by PLN. In the push-pull converter design the output voltage is constantly in 14.1 volt value with the current of 2.16 ampere. The battery type that being used is sealed lead acid (SLA) which has a capacityof 7.2 Ah with a nominal voltage of 12 volt. The system was designed using MATLAB-Simulink software. The result of simulation shows in three scenarios in example the output of converter when the input fluctuation condition, the load of converter when the input steady state condition, then it connect to battery for charging purpose output of converter already in stable condition.Keywords : Push-pull Converter, Sealed Lead Acid Battery, MATLAB-Simulink

Abstract

Hydroxyapatite has been applied in the biomedical field as drug delivery. The drug will be absorbed onto the hydroxyapatite surface through the adsorption process. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of initial concentration of doxorubicin (DOX) and the operating temperature on hydroxyapatite adsorption, and to determine the appropriate adsorption equilibrium model. Research began by making a solution of doxorubicin with an initial concentration of 485.83; 661.67; 884.17 mg/L. A 5 mL DOX solution was mixed with 10 mg hydroxyapatite in a beaker glass, then stirred using a magnetic stirrer at 220 rpm at 30, 40, 50 °C for 18 hours. After centrifugation, the concentration of DOX solution in the liquid was tested using UV-Vis spektofotometry. The results showed that the adsorption capacity () increased with increasing initial concentration () DOX. The value of () increased consecutively from 223.86-430.18; 231.59-434.46; 230.48-432.04 mg/g with increasing ofvalue from 485.83-884.17 mg/L at temperature of 30, 40, 50 °C. The highest value of () was obtained at 40 °C, i.e., 231.59-434.46 mg/g. It was found that the Langmuir was an appropriate equilibrium model, where the maximum adsorption capacity () values for each temperature 30, 40, 50 °C are 151.52; 163.93; 181.82 mg/g.Keywords: adsorption, doxorubicin, equilibrium model, hydroxyapatite.

Abstract

This research is aimed to design the shape of transmission connection between coconut husk decomposermachine and a motorcycle engine, so it can be operated in coconut plantation areas. Preliminary in thisresearch is based on Nuriyadi and Cahyono who designed and tested a coconut husk decomposer machine,which used and electric motor. If the decomposer of coconut husk machine is operated in a plantation area withno electricity, then this machine can not be operated. The purpose of this research is to modify the motorcycleas the engine driver of decomposers of coconut husk machine which as a means for transportation as well. Themethod in this research is used Design For Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) to determine the design oftransmission connection form. The research result was revealed the assembly time of transmission connectionof coconut husk decomposer machine of 129.67 seconds and the efficiency of assembly time was 4.6%.Keywords: Motorcycle, DFMA, QFD, Efficiency assembly.

Abstract

Timber can be used not only for daily purposes but also as structural requirements. The use of timber as a structural material is not only limited as solid timber, but also as a laminated timber. This aim is to determine of wood supplies of good quality and large dimension. This research determines the physical and mechanical properties of wood such as moisture content, density, bending test and shear test. Acacia mangium was used as the timber in this research and epoxy was used to glue each woods. Bending test was conducted on solid wood and solid wood with coating while shear test was carried out on solid wood, laminated wood, laminated wood with coating . All speciments used the same amount of epoxy 100 MDGL (Million Square Double Glue Line). From the test in this research it is found that average water content and density of acacia mangium was 8.51% and 0.825 gr/ respectively. Bending test carried out on solid wood and solid wood with coating resulted in the load of 72,67 N/ and 93,883 N/ respectively. Moreover shear test conducted solid wood, laminated wood, and laminated wood with coating resulted in the load of 2.129 N/ , 2.650 N/ and 1.919 N/ . Abstract

Traditional Market Design is intended to meet daily needs of the society. Traditional Market in Rengat is not enough to accommodate shopping area, especially in the district of West Rengat, Pematang Rebah located near the capital city. Based on records of Market Department of Indragiri Hulu until 2016, West Rengat sub-district does not have any Traditional Market yet. Traditional Market in Rengat also has discomfort such as dirty environment and management of internal space and outer space that is not regular. This condition becomes the background of this design. Traditional Market Design by using Form Follows Function approach. Research methods used trought field surveys, literature reviews, and building analysis. Approaches are applied partially or completely to the market building. Form Follows Function prioritizes planned spaces according to their function that is intended to meet human needs. The concepts used in this design are Trade Values in Modern Concepts. The application of this concept is contained in the Traditional Market design which includes layout of buildings that have functionality of the site, the spatial placement in the building in accordance with needs and functions, arrangement of circulation inside and outside the building that facilitate activity of buying and selling, a convenient utility for users, and building facades that are result of the concept. Keywords: Traditional Market, Form Follows Function, Trade Values in Modern Concepts Rengat.

Abstract

The admiralty method is a tidal harmonic analysis method that used to analyze and to predict tides. Tidal analysis with admiralty method is done using 15 days and 29 days tidal data. This research aims to analyze the initial time of tidal simulation which have the most accurate result. Tidal data of Port C of Pelindo, Dumai has been analyzed using 29 days admiralty method. The results of this research indicated that the results of tidal analysis using 29 days admiralty method generate the smallest RMSE (Root Mean Square Error) value of 28,67 cm which is the prediction result of initial time of 5 Hijri calender. So the most appropriate initial time of input data simulation for the purposes of tidal analysis is on the 5th of each month of the Hijri calendar or during the phase of the second month (crescent month. Abstract

The average value of the free aquifers in Pekanbaru City continues to increase that marked increase in subsidence of groundwater impacted difficulty gaining ground water. Sourced from the Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning Pekanbaru city that watering park in Pekanbaru city used reservoir water from well located in Pekanbaru City Forest, Diponegoro Street, Sail District, Pekanbaru. The water is standard water for the provision of clean water. Therefore, it is necessary to find an alternative water source that can be used for watering City Park. One of them is rainwater. All this time, rainwater only allowed wasted and underused. Though rain water can be used for watering plants. Rain water can be use by rainwater harvesting technology. In this study conducted a study on the utilization of rainwater harvesting at the Fly Over Bridge at intersection of Jenderal Sudirman Street and Tuanku Tambusai Street Pekanbaru City as an alternative water source for City Park. To find the rainwater harvesting donation. Analysis Supported by the software of RainCycle Standard v2.0 program. The large contribution of rainwater harvesting produced is 19% of 120 m3 or 22.8 m3 everyday if not raining and at least 7.7% of 120 m3 or 9.24 m3 everyday if not raining. Keywords: Raincycle Water Harvesting, Fly Over, Alternative Water Resource
