Abstract

In a pavement mixture, filler has a significant effect because its functions as a cavity filler in the mixture. The fillers commonly used are Portland cement, stone ash or fly ash which are relatively expensive. Therefore it is necessary to use alternative filler removal materials but not reduce the quality of the pavement mixture. In this study, the filler used was waste burning rice husk ash because it has a high silica content which is almost the same as Portland cement. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using rice husk ash filler in a mixture of AC-WC asphalt types. In this study the optimum asphalt content determination was carried out at asphalt levels 5%, 5.5%, 6%, 6.5% and 7%. The proportion of rice husk ash used were 0%, 2%, 4%, 6% and 8%. The specifications used follow the Bina Marga 2010 Revision 3 standard with the Marshall method. The results of this study indicate that the AC-WC mixture using rice husk ash filler has better stability than not using rice husk ash filler. The highest stability value is found at 6% filler level which is equal to 1701.00 kg. The recommended level of rice husk ash for AC-WC mixture that is according to specifications is 6% because it has a better value of stability, flow, VIM, VMA, VFA, MQ.Keywords: Rice husk ash, Filler, AC-WC, Bina Marga Specification 2010 Revision 3

Abstract

Welding of automatic sliding adaptive two-axis systems is defined as welding Automatic with equipment that has a control system that automatically determines changes in welding conditions and acts under the equipment with adjustable actions to make adjustments to SMAW 1G and 1F welding positions. In the development of this study using the development method of DFMA (Desing for production and assembly) that can be interpreted as the design of a product or component that can facilitate the production process and the assembly process with other components to become a product unit. This welding uses the X and Y coordinate system. An axis is used to control the movement of the space in the X direction. The other is to move the perpendicular position in the direction of the Y axis. In addition, two opposite coordinate systems can be activated to apply two-way growth together welding. The development of sliding adaptive two-axis machines includes the design, manufacture of tools, testing of sliding adaptive two-axis machines, and testing of welding results based on visual savings and penetrant testing. The parameters are used are hem of v with an angle of 60, the current uses 90 Amper and the welding speed controlled by Arduino Uno with 4.34 rpm stepper motor, the material used is low-carbon steel. Liquid penetration tests are performed on 3 samples, the least of which are welding defects, namely in sample A compared to sample C.Keywords : SMAW Welding, Sliding Adaptive Two-Axis, Penetrating Tests

Abstract

he adsorption cooling system is one of the technologies for air conditioning and refrigeration systems that are energy efficient and environmentally friendly. The double bed adsorption cooling system with silica gel as adsorbent and water as an adsorbate, and the performance of the system were examined experimentally. The adsorption cooling system consists of two u-tube adsorber with finned tube structure, evaporator, condenser, one heater and one cooling, and is equipped with additional measuring instruments and system components. Based on the test data and calculations obtained, the COP value of the adsorption cooling system is 0.295 at the time of operation 1200 s with a desorption temperature of 85 ° C. The SCP value obtained is 0.04. The average temperature of chilled water that comes out of the evaporator for 1 minute is the adsorption process, for adsorption of adsorber 2 the average temperature of chilled water coming out of the evaporator is 28.3 ˚C with the chilled water temperature entering the evaporator 30.06 ˚C, and for adsorption adsorber 1 the average temperature of the chilled water coming out of the evaporator is 27.82 ˚C with the chilled water temperature entering the evaporator 29.31 ˚C. Abstract

Pekanbaru as the capital city of Riau Province which is growing rapidly has a community that has a high appreciation of the development of the world of sports today, for example is bodybuilding sports. But the people of Pekanbaru City do not yet have adequate fitness and leisure center facilities and need them to fulfill their sports activities in addition to using their free time to be more positive and beneficial. Abstract

The transformer is the main element that is very important in the distribution of electricity. The fault that occurs in the transformer can blocked the process of distribution electrical energy to consumers. And one of them is the emergence of inrush currents when energizing the transformer is one phenomenon that occurs in electric power and affects differential relay performance. In operating a differential relay sometimes it is a fault which causes the protected transformer to trip despite the fact that the transformer is normal. This study proposes Reducing Inrush Current on the Garuda Sakti Substation Power Transformer, to reduce the inrush current in the power transformer when the power transformer is first turned on. The method used in this study is to use a bridge diode type DC reactor which is simulated using Matlab / Simulink software. By connecting in series with each phase of the power transformer. The simulation results the reduction value of inrush current on power transformer 1 with a difference that is at phase R = 29.7 A phase S = -10 A and phase T = -17.5 A. In power 3 transformer at phase R = 32.7 A , phase S = -11.5 A and phase T = -21.9 A. The result of the reduction in inrush current using the DC reactor is compared with the inrush current value. The result of this reduction in inrush current can reduce the inrush current on power 1 transformer at R phase 14.7%, phase S 5.7% and phase T 9.8%. In power transformer 3 it can reduce to phase R 14.5%, phase S 5.9% and phase T 10.8%Keywords : Inrush Current, Power Transformer, DC Reactor

Abstract

Elephant grass is a lignocellulosic biomass which has not been utilized optimally. Fractination of elephant grass can be converted into valuable products, such as pulp. The objectives on this research is to study the effect of the process condition on pulp yield, cellulose and lignin content in pulp. The effect of process condition were studied by Response Surface Methodology (RSM) using Central Composite Design (CCD). Fractionation of elephant grass performed on a normal boiling point of the solution with a concentration of formic acid (60%, 70% and 80%), the reaction time of 60-180 minutes, solid to liquid ratio of 10/1 to 20/1, 40 grams elephant grass, HCl catalyst 0.1% wt. This research has 4 stages process that are cooking, screening, washing and drying. The pulp from process will be analyzed for yield pulp, alpha celluose content and lignin content. The result shows that fractionation of elephant grass have yield pulp of 53.6% to 73.7%, cellulose pulp of 84.03% to 93.97% and lignin pulp of 11% to 19.5%. the concentration of formic acid and reaction time influence each response significantly.Keywords: biomass fractionantion, central composite design, elephant grass, response surface methodology.

Abstract

Aerodynamic has a major influence on vehicles moving at a certain speed. Aerodynamics is influenced by the form factor and air flow that comes in contact directly on the surface of the vehicle, causing obstacles and flow separations that occur in the rear of the vehicle that affect the stability of the vehicle. Obstacles that occur significantly affect vehicle fuel consumption. Thus the purpose of this final project is to simulate coefficient drag and coefficient lift that happened to the Asykar Proto UNRI car using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics). Analysis is done to find out the size coefficient drag and coefficient lift and the flow form that works on the Asykar Proto UNRI car with a maximum speed of 80 Km/h. The body shape of the car is designed using software Inventor 2017 then exported to ANSYS 16.0 to do summulation. The research results obtained are magnitude coefficient drag and coefficient lift which works on Asykar Proto UNRI cars which are 1.5 and 0.032. Refers to the result obtained by the experiment changing the shape of the front and windshield the value is large of coefficient drag and coefficient lift decreased to 0.15 and 0.0030. This is because the body on the front and the windshield of the part is the body part of the car that determines the amount of drag. Whereas value coefficient lift on the car Asykar Proto UNRI itself does not affect the stability of the car (lift force) when it runs at a speed of 80Km/h.Keywords: aerodynamics, coefficient drag, coefficient lift, Iventor 2017, ANSYS 16.0.

Abstract

Heterogeneous solid base catalyst by modificated Eggshells through calcination, hydration, dehydration methods with iron powder through impregnation method to load calcium oxide with eggshells as precursor. The catalyst with the highest activity is obtained when the calcination temperature of 900°C and the calcination time of 2 hours under transesterification reaction conditions of a molar ratio of methanol/oil 10:1, catalyst dosage of 1% by weight, temperature of 70 °C for 2 hours with yield biodiesel results reached 91,72%.Keyword: biodiesel, calcination, calcium oxide, catalysts, iron powder.

Abstract

River in Kampar Regency have enormous potential for freshwater cultivation in the cultivation of ponds (fresh water) and fresh floating nets (floating nets). However, the amount of agricultural sector production has not been evenly distributed in all sub-districts. To discuss the issue Kab. Kampar as the largest producer of freshwater fish in Riau, requires high school education facilities that are requested in the fisheries sector. This supports adding and maintaining human resources with added value to the fisheries sector. As a design strategy at the Fisheries High School in Kampar using field surveys, literature studies, and comparative studies. Based on the data that has been obtained, it is then processed with the principles of metaphoric architecture so as to produce a new concept that is applied in the College of Fisheries. The use of metaphoric architecture can bring up visual characters that will be applied to the form of mass. The concept of the Fisheries High School uses a form of wood used as a fishing gear. Abstract

The welding process is carried out in the solid phase. The friction welding process that occurs from the direct conversion of mechanical energy into friction into thermal energy. The process of friction between two surface objects in the direction of the direction. The connection process is carried out on the surface with a flame temperature (melting point), so that the connection can be ascertained between the surface of the material being welded and the joints of the same nature. In the previous study, measuring when measuring data when testing, the exact time when loading forging, the temperature at the time of welding and the temperature propagation of the specimen along. Therefore, to find out the problems needed for this, it is necessary to do an evaluation before conducting welding so that we can get groupings or predictions to do welding with good results, and with this simulation it is also expected to be studied according to the temperature of the specimen on welding requirements. From the simulation results, the exact time and temperature for giving an average forging pressure at each angle is 30° (132.27 seconds; 1.070,2 °C), 45° (127.91 seconds; 1.070,1 °C), 60° (123 ,77 seconds; 1.071,2 °C).Keywords : Friction, Steel, Chamfer Interface Area, Forging
