Abstract

Particularly, industrial waste color paper mill is one of the causes of environmental problems that require the removal of an effective and efficient. Adsorption is a separation method that is simple and easy to operation. The purpose of this research study the ability of solid waste and paper pulp (dregs) adsorb dye brown and learn direct equilibrium models adsorption against adsorbent mass variations and temperature adsorption operation. The maximum wavelength of the dye Direct Brown 417 nm. The highest removal efficiency of concentration was 93.57%. Equilibrium models corresponding to the direct-brown dye adsorption use solid waste pulp and paper (dregs) was the Langmuir isotherm. Abstract

Limbungan Baru is the most populous Sub-District in Rumbai Pesisir District. The high level of density population in Limbungan Baru Sub-District is as one potential contributor of CO2 emissions. The calculation of total energy consumption that generate CO2 emmision was called carbon footprint. The CO2 emissions from the household activities are divided into primary and secondary CO2 emissions. The primary CO2 emissions is resulting from fuel used in households, while the secondary CO2 emissions is resulting from the used of electric household equipment. CO2 emmision were calculated using IPCC method (1996). Total CO2 emissions from household activities in Limbungan Baru Sub-District is 2.194,614 tons CO2/month where primary CO2 emissions amounted to 185,535 tons CO2/month, and secondary CO2 emissions amounted to 2.009,089 tons CO2/month.Keywords: Carbon footprint, CO2 emission, Household, Electricity Energy, Fossil Fuels

Abstract

Gas insulating material commonly used in electrical system is SF6 gas. SF6 gas is used as an insulator material in electrical system in transfer heat. However, SF6 gas is not environmentally friendly, and triggers the increase of global warming so it is necessary to conduct research to get other gas insulators as alternative materials such as gas Carbondioxide (CO2) and Nitrogen (N2). This study discusses the dielectric characteristics of a mixture of Carbondioxide (CO2) gas with Nitrogen (N2) under electrical stress (high voltage negative polarity). The study used spherical electrodes and needles with varying gap distances and we compared the gas breakdown voltage with ratio 25% CO2 : 75% N2, 50% CO2 : 50% N2, and 75% CO2 : 25% N2 respectively. The purpose this research is to find the maximum breakdown voltage for several ratio gases. From the test result obtained breakdown voltage in negative polarity is smaller than positive polarity. We also attempted the gases breakdown voltage 70 trials and it was indicated that the breakdown voltage varied -78,69 kV until -105 kV. The maximum discharge current recorded by an osciloscope was -104 A in 50% CO2 : 50% N2 ratio.Keywords : electrode, mixture insulation gas, polarity efect, dielectric power, negative polarity, breakdown voltage

Abstract

Membrane is a selective and semipermeable layer that lies between two phases, namely feed phase and permeate phase. Membrane synthesis using polysulfone with phase inversion method. The purpose of this research were to make membranes of polysulfone for waste water treatment mall with 11%, 13%, 15%, and 17% by weight of polysulfone, operating pressure of 1, 2, and 3 bars. This research produed porous membrane. Based on characterization of membrane permeability, selectivity, and porous statistic showed that membrane polysulfone were proven as membrane ultrafiltration.Keywords : phase inversion, membrane, waste water treatment mall, ultrafiltration

Abstract

This research has proposed a wide area measurement method used for the fault diagnosis of a short circuit in the electric power transmission system that combining the functions of a phasor measurement device. Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) is a technology that makes Electric Power Systems has synchronous phasor measurement devices that are continuously updated of real-time. The PMU provides a measurement of the current phasor value and voltage phasor value to the control centere. Therefore, in this study measurement method model is designed to measure the wide area to using PMU on the IEEE 9-Bus System by Matlab/Simulink R2016a. The short circuit simulation is operated with variation of location each transmission line in the IEEE 9-Bus System. The results of wide area measurement method using PMU produce a diagnosis of fault. The achieved results by determining the fault location point through diagnosis of fault location with calculation highest percentage error is 0,481208%.Keywords: fault diagnosis, PMU, short circuit, transmission line, wide area.

Abstract

This study aims to study the compressive strength and porosity of PCC concrete and PCC-CR-RHA concrete. PCC concrete as a control and PCC-CR-RHA concrete that contains 5% of crumb rubber and 10% of rice husk ash. These concretes exposed to peat water with flexural strength according to Bina Marga 2018 standard regarding rigid pavement of 4.5 MPa and 35 MPa compressive strength. The tests were carried out after speciments were cured on peat water for 0, 7, and 28 days. The test results showed that the compressive strength of PCC concrete was 32.065 MPa, higher than the compressive strength of PCC-CR-RHA at 28 days. While the porosity of PCC concrete was 7.204%, lower than the porosity of PCC-CR-RHA at 28 days. The test results of PCC concrete compressive strength at the age of 28 days for peat water curing increased by 10.01% as well as PCC-CR-RHA concrete, which increased by 6.79%. PCC concrete porosity values at the age of 28 days for peat water curing decreased by 36.90% as well as PCC-CR-RHA concrete, which decreased by 43.15%. Based on the results of tests conducted, both types of concrete have good compressive strength and porosity when exposed to peat water.Keywords: Compressive strength, porosity, crumb rubber, rice husk ash, rigid pavement, peat soil.

Abstract

In this case from topic Study of Reliability And Evaluation Work System Relay Protection of 150 kV Transmission Line Koto Panjang - Pekanbaru. In this study just concern about problem of GI Koto Panjang, GI and GI Bangkinang Garuda Sakti. Transmission has protecion used on the 150 kV such as Distance Rele and safety reserves of the OCR and GFR. This topic point to analyze used of Distance relays network of 150 kV, calculate the setting impedance relay distance and calculates the setting current and time on each other Bay transmision OCR and GFR in each - each other relay in each substation (Koto Panjang, Bangkinang, Garuda Sakti) reperesent well as the interruption of transmission in any history of interference. Observations and analysis in this study will be made in the form of reliability, the reliability of the system work in each transmission relay when an interruption occurs.Keywords: Relay Distance, OCR, GFR, Reliability, transmison of 150 kV.

Abstract

The Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is one of the methods of maintenance activities, which aim to preserve and maintain the quality of the equipment or machinery. The OEE in maintenance activities may include measuring the level of availability, level of performance, and level of quality of the machines to produce a product. This research aims to analyze the performance of machine using OEE method (case study: the machine screw press in PTPN V Sei Pagar). The research was carried out on screw press machine in the PTPN V Sei Pagar. The company is engaged in palm oil processing industry that produces crude palm oil and kernel. The research method used the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) approach to analyze the value of OEE based on the Statistic Software of SPSS 21. Analysis result over a period of eight weeks of OEE values were obtained on a screw press,which was 47.3%. The OEE values of the screw press machine were still below the standard of OEE’s world class, which was over 85.4%. Based on analyzing of the value of six big losses that was known as the affecting factor of the low value of the OEE on the screw press machine, that was found the very significant losses on the set up and adjustment losses. The value of OEE on the set up and adjustment losses of the screw press was 45.6%. Using cause and effect diagram was obtained the root causes of the low value of OEE due to very high the schedule of stand by the machine. By using SPSS 21 software proved that each of six big losses factors have a relationship and affect the value of OEE with significant value under 0.05.Keywords : OEE, Six Big Losses, Cause and Effect Diagram, SPSS 21

Abstract

Placement of an access point using a Wi-Fi network is necessary to get the desired signal strength, especially from the receiver side. Access Point or transmitter as the signal sender is very important because the signal strength value is a parameter used to determine the coverage area (signal range) of the access point (transmitter). This research discusses the placement of access points in the Faculty of Engineering, University of Riau. In this case, 10 samples of Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI) in dBm are processed to get the placement optimalization using Simulated Annealing Method with INSSIDER 4 Application. Propagation Line of Sight (LOS) is used to get distance between transmitter and receiver in meters. Signal strength does not only depend on the transmitter and receiver but also from the number of interference the research, it causes the decrease in the signal received by the receiver. Obtained coverage area after optimization 65.233% in the Faculty of Engineering, University of Riau. From the result, hoped this research can be used well to optimize access point placement on Wi-Fi networks using Simulated Annealing Method in the Faculty of Engineering, University of Riau.
