Abstract

Panopticon is a large circular building in which along the circle edge there are rooms and there is a watchtower in the middle. Panopticon is an embodiment of a monitoring system that has an important role to accentuate the power discipline and this knowledge is very appropriate if applied to Correctional Institutions. Correctional Institutions with the application of Panopticon not available yet in Pekanbaru, especially the Women's Correctional Institution, since the women's correctional facilities in Pekanbaru are currently hitching at the Pekanbaru Class II Special Guidance Institution. The security system applied by the panopticon architecture at the Women's Penitentiary in Pekanbaru is expected to provide direct effects such as creating an order and safe atmosphere also can maximize the role of Correctional Institutions in providing guidance in the form of resociality and reintegration along with its supervision. The method used in the design is to apply the principle of power discipline which is the main influence in the application of panopticon. The concept used is Limited Freedom. This concept is based on the function of correctional institutions as a place for fostering prisoners whose freedom are taken away during the coaching period, with a very strict administrative system without forgeting the prisoners' rights. when they are released they do not repeat their criminal acts and get a deterrent effect while in a correctional institution.Keyword: Correctional Institution, Women's Correctional Institution, Panopticon Architecture

Abstract

The stabilization pond system are used in almost all of palm oil mills in Indonesia. One of it disadvantages is that it disable to exploit the potential of microalgae. HRAR is a technology that is able to increase microalgae biomass, and with a consortium of microalgae-bacteria, the elimination of organic matter is increasing. This research aim by determined the effect of mixing velocity in the HRAR system towards the spesific growth rate of microalgae and mixed liquor suspended solid in POME. The research was carried out in batches for 7 days by using solar energy as a source of light. Mixing were operated 24 hours per day with by variations of mixing velocity was 16, 20, and 24 cm/sec. Based on the research results, the mixing velocity of 20 cm/sec was the best velocity for indigenous microalgae. The highest spesific growth rate of microalgae was 0,402/day and mixed liquor suspended solid values was 3625 mg/L .Keywords: High Rate Algae Reactor (HRAR), Mixing, Microalgae, Palm Oil Mill Effluents (POME).

Abstract

Pekanbaru wedding Center has the main function to support the wedding procession. Modernization that occurs in the city of Pekanbaru makes things practical, this tendency makes people prefer things that are considered practical but still effective and efficient, including the implementation of wedding receptions that want to be more efficient. The Pekanbaru Wedding Center is also provides supporting facilities such as salons and spas, wedding boutiques, jewelry stores, cake shops, photo studios, shopping centers, invitation shops, flower shops, catering and hotels in one area making it easier the bride and groom in meeting the needs of the wedding and in holding a wedding reception. that method uses is the Expressionist Architecture Approach which creates a building that expresses emotions and can be felt by people who see it so that it not only provides facilities that can enrich one's expression but also describes expressions in terms of architecture that creates the building. Expressionist architecture expresses expression through three physical elements of the building, namely the facade, the interior, the building plan, and the mass of the building. By the concept of Happy vibes is an atmosphere of happiness which is then described through the results of imagination and emotions which are then combined with several elements that influence the process of composition.keywords : Pekanbaru, Wedding Center, Expressionist Architecture

Abstract

Muslims in the past were very close to the Islamic doctrine to lived their daily lives, even during the Abbasid Caliphate, Islam had won its victory. On that time, Muslims producedmany discoveries and technologies, almost in all fields of science while they still prioritized the aqeedah and morals taught by Islam. Muslims today can regain their heyday by advancedthe fields of science and technology that will match together with educational facilities and establishment for Muslims. One of these efforts is to build an Islamic Center. The design ofthe Islamic Center in Pekanbaru aims to facilitate the activities of Islamic scientific development in Pekanbaru and also to study the insights of Islamic religion and develop it as the axis of Islamic civilization. The Expressionism Architecture approach is used to be ableto demonstrate the form of buildings that can communicate the feelings and emotions which are created so that the building form has more variation and has a strong attraction for thelocal society to visit this Islamic Center. The design of the Islamic Center uses concept "Hablumminallah wa Hablumminannas" which means the relation between Allah SWT andall the people as His creation to express obedience to the rules of Allah SWT.Keywords: Pekanbaru, Islamic Center, Expressionism Architecture

Abstract

Land fires are frequent disasters, especially on peatlands. One of the efforts to prevent fire on peatlands is by building canal blocks. The effectiveness of the canal block needs to be analyzed for its effectiveness to find out whether the canal block can prevent peatland fires. Hydraulic conductivity is one of the parameters used to determine the effectiveness of canal block construction. Hydraulic conductivity is the ability of the soil to drain water through it. The purpose of this study is to find out how much the hydraulic conductivity value of peatlands in Lukun Village and to find out whether the canal blocking construction in Lukun Village is effectively built. The results of this study indicate the value of hydraulic conductivity with the Rice and Bower (1976) method is 0.366 m / day - 14.146 m / day. The value of hydraulic conductivity also shows that the construction of canal blocks in Lukun Village is effective in preventing peatland fires.Keywords: Hydraulic Conductivity, Peatland, Rice and Bouwer (1976)

Abstract

Oil Palm Frond (OPF) extract is the largest biomass in the palm oil industry. Fresh oil palm frond extract can be readily obtained by just pressing the fresh OPF. Oil palm frond extract contains of high sugar concentrations such as glucose, making it a potential medium for bioethanol fermentation. This research was conducted by analyzing the characteristics of OPF through glucose, pH, chemical oxygen demand (COD) and volatile suspended solid (VSS) as well as its potensial in producing bioethanol. The glucose content in the OPF extract was 37 g/L, total and soluble COD in OPF 56,000 mg / L and 48,000 mg / L, VSS amounting to 2,133 mg / L and pH 5. This result indicates that OPF extract can be used as a renewable feedstock for bioethanol production.Keywords: Oil Palm Frond (OPF) extract, Bieothanol fermentation

Abstract

Weather and climate dynamics play a major role in spatial and temporal changes in groundwater availability. Temporally, groundwater availability changes are easier to feel such as the incidence of drought phenomena and water shortages that occur during certain months. This index is a benchmark to see the potential for fire in peatlands. This research was conducted in the Bengkalis regency of Riau Province using the method Keetch-Bryam Drought Index (KBDI). Peat fires can transform peatlands into farmland and settlements. The results of the drought Index analysis, the highest drought index value of the KBDI method occurred on Grid 8 in March 2016 of 1894.88 with extreme classification. The main factor for the occurrence of meteorological dryness is rainfall. Value of KBDI The higher the more the extreme. So the increase rainfall followed by decreasing the value of KBDI. Abstract

The West Sumatra - Riau causeway is an important line for the provinces of Riau and West Sumatra. The causeway has a role as an economic link between the two Provinces so that thelevel of road use is quite high and results in high intensity of accidents. Drowsiness is one of the causes of the high number of accidents on the West Sumatra - Riau crossroads, so users need a place to rest. Biophilic architecture has the function of accelerating the recovery of theuser's condition by getting the users closer to nature. Utilization of natural materials, scenery, and natural aromas can accelerate the recovery of the user's condition. Then the main problem is how to design a Rest Area by applying Biophilic Architecture, and there are 14principles in designing Biophilic Architecture.Keyword: Biophilic, Kec. Abstract

This research developed a heart rate monitoring system using 3 lead electrodes sensor based LoRa. LoRa used to send the data from transmitter to receiver. Hardware used is arduino uno, ad8232, lora shield and electrodes. The result of patient’s heart rate monitoring are displayed on Graphical User Interface (GUI) designed in visual basic 2010. Visual basic provide information such as heart rate per minute, heart rate signal and heart rate characteristic such a bradicardia, tacycardia and normal. Based on the test result, LoRa can work better in Line of Sight (LoS) condition compared with non-LoS condition. For LoS condition, RSSI is at interval of -96 to -107 dBm for distance of 50 meters to 200 meters, while for non-LoS condition is at interval of -103 to -113 dBm. The result of patient’s heart rate monitoring show a heart rate error of 5.98 % with signal intervals that are still classified in the normal range category.Keyword: ECG, LoRa, Monitoring

Abstract

The Center for Digital Technology Creativity in Pekanbaru is a facility that utilizes digital technology in creative thinking to keep abreast of digital and easy times and a place for peopleto understand and participate in developing digital technology by developing digital technology skills in various branches of technology. The existence of the Center for DigitalTechnology Creativity in Pekanbaru is very important, starting from the high interest of the community towards technology and also because digital technology has great potential in the industrial world in the digital era where everything that is done is completely digital. Theimportance of this facility is strengthened by the large number of people who start using digital technology but are not yet aware of what can be done by the technology, so that the digitaltechnology used will be felt to be useless and quite a number of cases are found due to negative use of technology. The Center for Digital Technology Creativity has the main function as a training and development center that aims to increase students' knowledge about digital technology and digital technology branches in the industrial world and information functions that will explain the technological developments in the world. This method uses the NormanFoster Design Principles Approach which applies the science of modern technology and provides ease of use. Norman Foster always designs with the inculcation of the concept of High Tech in his building, so that not only provides facilities that develop technology skills toindividuals but also illustrates a technological development into architecture that can be seen in the physical building and experience in the building.
