Abstract

Many technology innovations have been created to meet development needed. A lot of research have conducted to find solution to improve the deficiency of concrete. The addition of fiber was an alternative to improve the mechanical properties of normal concrete. In this research, the concrete will be mixed with steel fiber and the examination of the mechanical properties are compressive strength, split tensile strength, and flexural strength. The length of steel fiber was 140 mm which the content variation were 0.2%, 0.4%, 0.6%, 0.8%, and 1% of the weight aggregate volume. The results showed that the compressive strength, the split tensile strength and the flexural strength have the highest value at 0.6%. Therefore, the addition of steel fibers into the concrete mix can improve the mechanical properties of concrete.Keyword : steel fiber, fiber-reinforced concrete, compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, flexural strength

Abstract

Indonesia is the largest producer of crude palm oil (CPO), followed by Malaysia and Thailand. The area of Indonesian palm oil plantations produces palm kernel oil (PKO) and palm kernel cake (PKC) 8,573,886 tons / year. BIS has lignocellulose content, lignocellulosic structure can be converted to glucose and has the potential to become bioethanol which can meet Indonesia's energy needs. The objectives to be achieved in this research are to characterize PKC as a raw material and determine the best H2SO4 concentration and hydrolysis time in the manufacture of glucose. There are two stages in this research, namely delignification and hydrolysis. Delignification uses a base solvent with a concentration of 6% NaOH cooking process at a temperature of 100 oC and a reaction time of 1 hour. The results showed that the base treatment process was able to increase cellulose to 39.1%, hemicellulose 10.9%, and a reduction in lignin by 5.65%. Second, hydrolyzed using variations of H2SO4 (1, 2 and 3 M) and hydrolysis time (3, 4 and 5 hours) at a temperature of 100 oC. The highest sugar concentration was produced from the hydrolysis process at a concentration of H2SO4 3 M and a 5 hour hydrolysis time of 22.11 g / L. Keywords: glucose, hydrolysis, palm kernel cake

Abstract

Peat water in Indonesia has the potential a source of clean water because of its ample availability, but in terms of qualitatively it still does not meet the standards of clean water quality according to Permenkes No. 32 of 2017, such as organic substances and colors that are still high. This weakness can be overcome through processing using the coagulationflocculation method with the addition of natural coagulants. One of the natural coagulants that can be used in the coagulation-flocculation process is averrhoa bilimbi. Averhhoa bilimbi as a coagulant can reduce color parameters and organic matter in peat water because it has advantages in the coagulation-flocculation process due to its high acid concentration. This study aims to determine the effect of averrhoa bilimbi coagulant dosage and pH in removing organic matter and color in peat water. Abstract

The need and consumption of the community for fuel oil (BBM) which is increasing from year to year is inversely proportional to its availability. One alternative energy solution to replace fossil energy is bioethanol and biohydrogen. POME has a high content of organic compounds such as carbohydrates, cellulose, sucrose, and starch so that it has the potential as a substrate for fermentation of bioethanol and biohydrogen. Anaerobic POME processing technology can increase the formation of bioethanol and biohydrogen. This research was conducted by analyzing the characteristics of POME through pH, demand for chemical oxygen (COD) and volatile suspended solids (VSS) and their potential in producing bioethanol and biohydrogen. From this study COD obtained a value of 32000 mg / L. Potential energy of bioethanol and biohydrogen formed through the degradation of organic matter in POME obtained respectively 1700 ml H2 / ml POME / day and 1.35g / L for 8 days Keywords: Acidogenesis, anaerobic, bioethanol, biohydrogen, palm oil mill effluent

Abstract

This research aims to determine the beginning of the observation time that produces the most accurate prediction data. The pasut prediction method used is admiralty method with 15 days observation data as much as 115 variations of data, then simulation data will be verified against the simulation data. Based on the results of the analysis of root mean square error (RMSE) value for each initial variation of the observation time, then the beginning of the most accurate observation time based on the smallest error value is obtained at 29.47 cm on the 15 hijri ladder (full moon phase). Nilai Formzahl average obtained 2.11 so that the type of pasut at the location of this study is skewed daily (Mixed tide prevailing diurnal). The results of the correlation coefficient analysis (r) of each variation of the initial time of observation show that the highest correlation value is on the 16th of Hijriah of 0.43, meaning that it has a moderate correlation. Abstract

Communication is the most important part of everyday activities. In the current era, communication can be done in various ways. One of them is through electronic messages (E-mail). E-mail is a means of exchanging information through electronic communication by sending, receiving, changing and storing messages. Using e-mail is more practical than writing and sending letters manually. However, the use of email is also very vulnerable to crimes in electronic communication or the internet. Security and confidentiality issues are an important aspect of messages, data and information. This is related to the importance of messages and information sent and received by interested parties or people, whether the authenticity of the messages and information is still maintained or not. Therefore, security is needed to maintain the authenticity of messages or information from the contents of the e-mail using cryptography. Cryptography is the art and science of encryption that aims to maintain the security and confidentiality of data. In maintaining the confidentiality and security of electronic messages, the RSA (Revest Shamir Adleman) algorithm method is used, so that the confidentiality and security of the data or information can be maintained and RSA has security at the level of difficulty in factoring nonprime numbers. RSA has a key pair, namely a public key and a private key. This research produces an android application that aims to maintain the authenticity of message contents and information sent by means of messages that have been sent can only be read through the application. Messages sent through the application will also enter into Gmail's incoming contacts. But the user cannot read the message from Gmail because the contents of the message are encrypted and can only be read from the application. Abstract

In design of a vehicle that is comfortable and safe while driving and to improve work performance on a vehicle, there are a number of things to consider, namely the steering system, brakes, suspension and transmission system. In this research, the writer will design and analyze the transmission system in Asykar Proto Gasolin Energy Saving Vehicle. The study began by searching for car specification data, Asykar Proto then calculating the center of gravity, then calculating the car speed at each gear ratio in the transmission system, measuring fuel consumption, calculating the mileage on each gear, calculating net traction force, designing the transmission system such as shafts, bearings, sprockets, chains and analysis. Abstract

Ethylene produced by cracked the chain of various componen in naphtha. n-paraffin is preferable for thermal cracking reactor feed to produce ethylene. MaxEne process help to result n-paraffin rich stream as feed to thermal cracking reactor. The main equipment of MaxEne process is adsorbent chamber with n-butane as desorbent agent and two debutanizer, one of them is debutanizer extract column and the other one is debutanizer raffinate column. The purpose of this study is to determine the chemical design and mechanical design of debutanizer raffinate column also the economical analysis of plant. The chemical design of debutanizer raffinate column such us determination of the number of tray is using fenske methode. The main mechanical design of  debutanizer raffinate column is to determine the design of support and flange. The economical analysis of the plant is determination of Cumulative Cash Ratio (CCR) and Present Value Ratio (PVR). The number of tray is 34. The heigt and diameter are 38,42 and 5,9 m respectively. The type of skirt is conical skirt with angle 83° to the base ring. The Thickness of the flange joint the head with shell is 0,85 m. Abstract

Bio-oil is a dark brown liquid consisting of aliphatic, aromatic, and heterocyclic compounds which have the potential to be liquid fuels. Bio-oil can be produced from a mixture of biomass and synthetic polymers through the co-pyrolysis process. Copyrolysis is a pyrolysis process that involves two or more different materials as a feedstocks. Potential feedstocks for the production of bio-oil are oil palm empty fruit bunches (OPEFB) and low-density polyethylene (LDPE). The purposes of this study were to determine the effect of feed ratio on bio-oil yield, and characterize the physical properties of bio-oil. The co-pyrolysis process using OPEFB and LDPE as feedstocks, the feed ratio (OPEFB/LDPE) was varied in 100/0, 75/25, 50/50 and 25/75 at temperature was 400°C. The results of this study showed that the best bio-oil yield obtained at feed ratio of 25% OPEFB / 75% LDPE was 63.2%. The characteristics of physical properties such as density, viscosity, acidity and heating value of the best biooil were 0.838 g/ml, 3.63 cSt, 3.81 and 35.3 MJ/kg. The results of this study indicate that the pyrolysis process between OPEFB and LDPE has a positive synergistic effect that increases hydrocarbon content and reduces phenol content in bio-oil. Abstract

This paper purposes LTE (Long Term Evolution) network design using indoor system in the area of Gedung C faculty of engineering, Universitas Riau. The design was involved several stages namely data analysis based on link budget and COST 231 Multiwall, network planning based on coverage (coverage planning), network planning base on capacity (capacity planning) and the final stage of desain to do simulation using the software RPS 5.4 (Radio Propagation Simulator). This simulation using two scenarios, the first using calculation coverage planning obtained 9 antenna and second scenario using calculation of capacity planning obtained 6 antenna. Base on simulation, the best scenario is capacity planning with obtained parameters of the Receive Signal Level (RSL) at -63.65 dBm, while the value of Signal Interface Ratio (SIR) obtained is 21.02 dB.Keywords : LTE, Coverage, Capacity, Link Budget, RSL, SIR and COST 231 Multiwall
