Abstract

Abstract: This research is entitled the ability to write exposition text for class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Siak Kecil. The purpose of this paper is to know the high ability to write exposition text in class X of SMA Negeri 1 Siak Kecil. The method used is descriptive analysis method with a quantitative approach. This research data is the result of the score of the ability to write exposition text with an assessment rubric. The sampling technique in this study is total sampling, which is all students of class X SMA Negeri 1 Siak Kecil, amounting to 85 students. The results of the study found the ability to write exposition text of class X students of SMA 1 Siak Kecil in the low category as many as 25 students, the medium category was 56 students, the high category was 3 students, and the category was very high as many as 1 student.Key Words: Ability, Writing, Exposition Text.

Abstract

Abstract : The event March 3, 1947 was an event that occurred because of a sense of dissatisfaction with the attitude of the government which seemed pro-ally. The purpose of this research was 1) to find out the cause of the events of March 3, 1947, 2) to find out the plans of the events of March 3, 1947, 3) to reveal the chronology of the events of March 3, 1947, 4)to find out the government's settlement in March 3, 1947. Qualitative research methods with historical approaches and data collection techniques in the form of literature, documentation, observation and interviews. The result of this research was that there is a feeling of dissatisfaction with the government's attitude which is not only pro-government, there are also a handful of religious groups which they say are very influenced by the socialist and communist groups and with such dissatisfaction some groups have kidnapped several government figures but it was quickly discovered by the military government regarding the attempted kidnapping and immediately carried out control over the people involved in the incident.Key Words: The event of March 3, West Sumatra

Abstract

Abstract : This research aims to describe the influence of understanding concept physics students through the application of strategy problem based learning with conventional learning material optical instruments in class VIII SMP 26 Pekanbaru. The subjects were two class VIII SMP 26 Pekanbaru that homogeneous. They are VIII.2 and VIII.3. VIII.2 has 38 students while class VIII.3 has 39 students. Data collection instrument in this research is the understanding concept achievement test which consists of test items totaling 18 points multiple choice questions. Analysis of the data in this research is a descriptive analysis to see an overview of understanding concept result of students using the category of understanding concept. From the analysis of data showed: the average absorption of experiments class is 65.5 % and the average absorption of control class is 56 %. Thus, the results of experiments studying physics class higher than the control class. So it can conclude that learning using problem based learning strategies give good influential in understanding concept at material optical instruments in class VIII SMPN 26 Pekanbaru.Key Words : Problem Based Learning, Understanding Concept, Optical Instruments.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the influence of cash turnover, receivable turnover, and inventory turnover on profitability both of simultaneously and partially at manufacturing companies of textil and garmen sub sector which is listing in the Indonesia Stock Exchange for period 2013 until 2017. This Study used ROA (Return On Asset) to measure profitability of the company. The population of this study is all of the companies of textil sector and garmen which is listing in the Indonesia Stock Exchange for 2013 until 2017 used census. The data used in this study was secondary data in the form of annual report. Data collection used documentation. The analysis of the data used multiple linier regression with the help of the program called SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science). The result of this study showed that cash turnover, receivable turnover, and inventory turnover simultaneously had an influence on profitability. Cash turnover partially had a negative influence on profitability. Receivable turnover partially had a negative influence on profitability. Inventory turnover had a positive influence on profitability.Key words: Cash Turnover, Receivable Turnover, Inventory Turnover, Profitability and Return On Assets.

Abstract

Abstract: the problem in this research was that the accuracy of passing the SMKN 5 Pekanbaru players was still missing, as evidenced by various tests and official competitions, and this was one of the factors that caused the defeat. This type of research is a form of experimental research to see the effect of the form of training. The purpose of this research was to see the effect of training the ball on the goal against the accuracy of passing on the SMKN 5 Pekanbaru football team. The population in this research consisted of a team of  SMKN 5 Pekanbaru, with a total of 14 people. The sampling technique is the use of total sampling, whereby the total population is sample. Data collection techniques obtained from the pre-test and the post-test. The instrument in this research used the Test that kicks the ball using the inner leg as a tool to measure the accuracy of passing. The analysis was performed using the t test. Based on data analysis and discussion, the results of the Tcount were 6.67 and Ttabel were 1.761. Means Tcount> Ttable, At the level of α= 0.05. It can then be concluded that there is a significant influence from the practice of looking the ball at the goal of the Pekanbaru SMKN 5 team. Key Words: Kick the ball into the goal, accuracy of passing

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe the effective reading skills of explanatory texts of students of class XII IPS High School 8 Pekanbaru and describe the average effective reading speed of explanatory texts per group of students in class XII IPS Senior High School 8 Pekanbaru. In an effort to achieve the objectives of this study quantitative methods were used and data collection techniques in the form of a set of objective test tools containing 16 items and 4 alternative answers. Then the results of inj research, namely the speed of effective reading of explanatory texts of students of class XII IPS in SMA Negeri 8 Pekanbaru are very low category and there is a difference in the average effective reading speed of explanatory texts per group.Key Words: Effective reading speed, explanation text.

Abstract

Abstract: This Classroom Action Reserach (CAR) aimed to to prove whether the use of word walls media can improve vocabulary achievement of the second year students of SMP Negeri 5 Tapung Hilir. This research was conducted in two cycles that consisted of four meeting in each cycle. This research was conducted to overcome the existing problem on the field as well as to described and to explain whether the word walls media could improve the students’ vocabulary achievement. The result of this research average score in pre-test is 66,83 average scores in post-test cycle 1 is 69,16 and average scores in post-test cycle 2 is 76,66. The result of this research indicated that the word walls media could improve the students’ vocabulary achievement. It was also found that; The selection of appropriated word walls media; The application of word walls; The management activities of the class & practiced; and teacher support can increase students motivation in vocabulary achievement.Key Words: Improve, Vocabulary Achievement, Word walls.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to find out the correlation between motivation and listening proficiency of the second-year students of English Study Program of FKIP Universitas Riau. The sample of this research is one class consisted of 38 students. The class was chosen by using Cluster Random Sampling Technique. There were two data collected in this research which were the data of motivation and listening proficiency. The motivation data was gained by using Attitude/Motivation Test Battery (ATMB) questionnaire by Gardner and the listening proficiency data was gained by holding Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) Preparation – Listening Section. The results show that the motivation of the population is categorized in “good” level and the listening proficiency of the population is “poor” level. Another result shows that there is a correlation between students’ motivation and their listening proficiency to the tune of 31%. In other words, the students’ motivation affects their listening proficiency.Key Words: Correlation, Motivation, Listening Proficiency

Abstract

Abstract: This study is titled Magical Motifs Kayangan of Riau Folklore (Intertextual Study). The background of this research is that the researchers want to see how the magical motifs of the sky consist of the main motifs of the angelic stories as well as the similarities and differences in the inner elements of the two folklore texts. The aim of this study is to describe the magical motifs of the folklore text of the legend of Putri Mambang Linau and Mahligai Keloyang (origin of the name Kelayang) from the main motifs of the Bidadari stories and similarities and differences in the intrinsic structure of the folklore text Legend of Putri Mambang Linau and Mahligai Keloyang (Originally Names) to describe Kelayang). This research is a descriptive qualitative research that describes and describes the results of the study. The data of this study are the folklore text of the legend of Putri Mambang Linau and Mahligai Keloyang (origin of the name Kelayang). Data obtained using the reading and recording method. Based on the results of the study, one found a magical motif in the form of angels, angelic cloths, hermitage, number of angels and kayangan. And the similarities and differences in the inner elements of both folklore texts.Key Words: intertextual, folklore, structural, magical motifs kayangan

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the differences in the level of self-confidence before and after given the pantun reciprocated technique through group guidance and to know the effect of the pantun reciprocated technique to increase students' self-confidence. The study was conducted at SMA Negeri 5 Pekanbaru against 7 samples with purposive sampling technique. The research design was pre-experiment with the one group pre-test post-test model. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire consisting of indicators of self-confidence. this study shows that there is a difference in self-confidence before and after given the pantun reciprocated technique through group guidance with a significance value of 0.018 <0.05. The confidence of 7 students who were previously in the low category experienced an increase after being given the pantun reciprocated technique through group guidance, some of which were in the high category. In addition, based on the Spearman rank test, it is known that there is a significant effect of the pantun reciprocated technique on students' self-confidence of 56.25% while 43.75% is influenced by other factors originating from within the student and from the student environment.Key Word: Pantun Reciprocated Technique, Self Confidence, Group Guidance
