Abstract

Abstract: This research is aimed at investigating the strategies in teaching reading comprehension used by English teachers of junior high schools in Rayon 2 Pelalawan Regency. Using total sampling, 63 teachers employed in this study were taken as the sample of this research. This study employed mixed method, combining quantitative and qualitative methods of data collection. The quantitative data were collected from a questionnaire while the qualitative ones were obtained through semistructured interviews. The questionnaire consists of three categories; Matacognitive strategy instruction (planning, monitoring, and evaluating), Cognitive strategy instruction (visualization, and summarizing) and Social strategy instruction (Cooperative learning and asking questions). The interview was deliberately chosen for the researcher intended to understand the depth of the data. The findings of this study revealed that the teacher tent to use Metacognitive strategy instruction, Cognitive strategy instruction, and Social strategy instruction in teaching reading comprehension. This result showed that the most strategies used by 60 (95%) of teachers in Metacognitive strategy instruction is monitoring (96,3%), summarizing as Cognitive strategy instruction (84,7%) and asking questions as Social strategy instruction (86%). The lowest point of the strategy is evaluating (54%). There were also additional respondents through an interview that mostly used Metacognitive Strategy Instruction and Social Strategy Instruction. Meanwhile, since COVID-19, between teachers and students need to take online learning, using media online platforms such as google classroom, whatsapp, and youtube. Furthermore, an occurrence of some problems during the teaching-learning process was inevitable. Among some other problems, students’ extreme diversity, lack of facilities, lack of students’ motivation, and bad networks for online learning in reading activity.Key Words: Reading Comprehension, Teaching Strategy, Pelalawan Regency

Abstract

Abstract: Achievement building at Alfityah Integrated Islamic Junior High School needs to be done to make the alumni trained and experienced since junior high school, when these students are directed to enter the same high school, then they get an easy way to directly excel at the high school level, by making a path to reach their dreams and dreams. Their goal of having a career in futsal is even becoming a national team player. The purpose of this study was to determine the perceptions of Alfityah Integrated Islamic Junior High School teachers towards achievement coaching, so that the coach can understand where the shortcomings and mistakes are in the development of futsal sports achievement, so that in the future it can improve school performance in the futsal sport. This research took place at the Alfityah Integrated Islamic Junior High School, Jl Swakarya Ujung, Tuah Karya, Kec. Handsome, Pekanbaru City was held in July 2019 - July 2020, the entire population was sampled (total sampling) of 18 people. Based on the descriptions of the research results, it can be seen that the Perceptions of Alfityah Integrated Islamic Junior High School Teachers on Futsal Sports Achievement Development consist of external and internal factors. On external factors, results show that as many as 0 teachers (0%) stated very high, 4 teachers (40%) stated high, 4 teachers (40%) stated moderate, 1 teacher (10%) stated low, and 1 teacher (10%) stated very low. So it can be seen that the teacher's perception of external factors is in the high category. On internal factors, the results show that 1 teacher (10%) stated very high, 1 teacher (10%) stated high, 4 teachers (40%) stated moderate, 4 teachers (40%) stated low, and 0 teachers (0%) stated that it is very low. So it can be seen that the teacher's perception of internal factors is in the low category. Based on the calculation of the overall data, it can be read that 1 teacher (10%) stated very high, 2 teachers (20%) stated high, 3 teachers (30%) stated moderate, 4 teachers (40%) stated low, and 0 teachers ( 0%) stated very low. It can be seen that the Perception of Alfityah Integrated Islamic Junior High School Teachers towards Futsal Sports Achievement Development is in the low category with a percentage of 40%.Key Words: Teacher Perception, Futsal Sports Achievement Development

Abstract

Abstract:The learning device developed is a physics learning device using the Argument ICARE (Introduction, Connect, Apply, Reflect, Extend) model to improve cognitive learning outcomes of class X SMA student on momentum and impulse, consisting of a learning outcomes test instrument. The purpose of this study was to produce a physics learning device using a valid Argument ICARE (Introduction, Connect, Apply, Reflect, Extend) model and was used to improve cognitive learning outcomes of class X SMA students on momentum adn impulse. This reseach is expected to be a reference for making innovative learning tools and can be used as a foundation in the teaching and learning objectives can be achieved. This type of research is a Research and Development (R&D) using the 4D model. This research is only limited to the development stage. The research instrument used was the RPP validation assessment sheet, LKPD, and the cognitive learning outcome test instrument used by the validator to assess learning tools. Data analysis in this study used descriptive analysis, by calculating the validity score of each indicator of the learning device. The results showed that the physics learning device using the ICARE (Introduction, Connect, Apply, Reflect, Extend) model was declared valid with the overall score of the device being 3.15 with a high category, so it was declarated feasible to be used for teaching in class X SMA in an effort to improve student cognitive learning outcomes on momentum and impulse.Key Words: Physics Learning Tools, ICARE Model, Cognitive Learning Outcomes, Momentum and Impulse.

Abstract

Abstract: This study examines the Assistance Process for Social Workers at theCenter for Social Rehabilitation of Children Requiring Special Protection (BRSAMPK)Rumbai Pekanbaru and in the mentoring process there are accompanying activities,teaching activities, directing activities, control activities and controlling activities. Thisstudy aims to describe the process of assisting social workers at the Center for theSocial Rehabilitation of Children in Need of Special Protection (BRSAMPK) RumbaiPekanbaru. This type of research is descriptive with a qualitative approach, in whichthe data collection process is carried out by interviewing 3 subjects, namely controlinformants, core informants 1, core informants 2 with documentation included. Theresults showed that the process of assisting social workers at the Center for SocialRehabilitation of Children in Need of Special Protection (BRSAMPK) RumbaiPekanbaru was running well with the implementation of accompanying activities,teaching, direction, control and supervision carried out by social workers with childrenaccording to the schedule and structure set out has been established.Key Words: Mentoring Process; Social Worker; BRSAMPK

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Turning and Passing the ball training on the skills of the U-15 Pekanbaru Yapora SSB Team. The research was conducted at the football field at Jalan Kinibalu Pekanbaru, from October to November 2020. The population which was also the sample in this study was the Yapora U-15 Pekanbaru SSB team, totaling 16 students. Based on the t-test yields a t count of 9,473 with a ttable of 1.753 it is accepted, at the alpha level (0.05. It can be concluded that there is an effect of Turning Training and Passing the Ball on the Skills of Passing the SSB Yapora U-15 Pekanbaru Team. The initial and final tests on 16 people were sampled.Based on the above results, it can be concluded that the Effect of Turning and Passing the Ball Training on the Skills of the Yapora U-15 Pekanbaru SSB Team This shows that turning and passing exercises can be used to improve skills. passing.Key Words: Turning Exercise, Passing the Ball, Passing Skills.

Abstract

Abstract: The problem of this study is the arm and shoulder muscle power on SMA Olahraga Pekanbaru men’s table tennis team, when doing drill horizontal swings researchers see still lack in arm muscle strength. This is clearly seen during practice and competition. Where athletes do matches with balanced opponents and play by looking for 3 wins, athletes are less than optimal in making smash because of lack of arm and shoulder muscle strength in these athletes so that when making a ball the ball always does not make it over the net, and even on the net lip so the ball falls on their own field and tends to lose athletes. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is an effect of exercise on the Drill Horizontal Swings on Arm and Shoulder Muscle Power on SMa Olahraga Pekanbaru Men’s Table Tennis Team. This research was conducted at SMA Olahraga Pekanbaru. When the study was conducted on 10 December 2019 to 20 January 2020. Given the relatively small number of samples, in this study the entire population was sampled. Thus the determination of the sample uses a total sampling technique (saturated sample) in which the entire population is sampled as many as 6 people on SMA Olahraga Pekanbaru Men’s Table Tennis Team. Based on the results of research and data processing can be concluded as follows: there is a significant effect of drill horizontal swings exercise (X) with an increase in arm and shoulder muscle power (Y) on SMA Olahraga Pekanbaru men's table tennis team. These results are indicated by the following research data: the amount of pretest data is 29.62 with an average value of 4.93 and the amount of post test data is 40.58 with an average value of 6.76. Then the ‘t’ test analysis yields a tcount of 16.54 and a table of 2.015. Means tcount (16.54)> ttable (2,015). It can be concluded that there is a significant the effect of drill horizontal swings training on SMA Olahraga men's table tennis team . Abstract

Abstrack : Character education is not a new term in the field of education because at this time character education already exists in all subjects with the aim of fostering the character and character of students. Teachers are required to be able to integrate all the main character values contained in each of these subjects, in the learning process starting from the planning, implementation and evaluation stages of learning which from day to day need to be designed and implemented to support the formation of student disciplinary character. This research was conducted to determine the role of teachers in shaping the character of student discipline in SMA Negeri Tuah Kemuning. Based on this background, the problem that arises is how the role of the teacher in shaping the disciplinary character of Tuah Kemuning Senior High School students? The purpose of this study was to determine the role of the teacher in shaping the disciplinary character of the students of SMA Negeri Tuah Kemuning. In this study the writer will present the data which is the result of the research conducted by the author at SMA Negeri Tuah Kemuning, where this research uses observation data collection techniques, interviews, and questionnaires. In this study, a sample of 28 teachers of SMA Negeri Tuah Kemuning as respondents to fill out a research questionnaire. The results of this study were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the results of the average percentage value of the alternative answers to the dominant respondents were 62.08% where this range was in the "Good" category with the presence in the range 50.01-75%. Thus the role of teachers in disciplinary character education of students at SMA Negeri Tuah Kemuning is good.Key Word :Role of Teacher, Character of Discipline

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe the effect of the principal’s leadership style on teacher performance at SMA Negeri 1 Banuhampu Agam Regency. This research is type of quantitative descriptive research. The population in this study were all teachers and teaching staff at SMA Negeri 1 Banuhampu Agam Regency. And the sample in this study were all 56 teachers. The sampling technique used was Total Sampling. The data collection technique used Questionnaire with a Likert Scale. Data analysis used descriptive analysisand simple regression analysis. The result of the this study indicate that the proncipal’s leadership style has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance. The t count for the principal’s leadership style variable is 3,140 and the t table is2,00488, thus t count > t table. This means that leadership style affects performance. The regression coefficient value is 0,402. The regression coefficient value is positive (+), so it can be said that leadership style (X) has a positive effect on teacher performance (Y).Key word: Leadership style, teacher performance

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this research is to find out the level of the fifth semester students of English Study Program FKIP Universitas Riau in vocabulary knowledge. The sample of this research is class 5C of the third year students of English Study Program which were choosen by using cluster random sampling technique. The number of the students is 37 students. The data obtained by giving multiple choice tests to students that is adapted by Paul Nation level test . The test asked the students to choose the appropriate vocabulary based on the context of the test. The test consist of 8 indicators of vocabulary. There are noun, verb, adjective, adverb, pronoun, synonym, antonym and context clues. The result shows that the students score in vocabulary knowledge is 68.1, and the students have problem in antonym with mean score 39,45 % of correct answers. In conclusion, from the result above shows that the students vocabulary knowledge level of FKIP Universitas Riau is in good level but having problem in finding antonym.Key Words: Study, Vocabulary,Knowledge

Abstract

Abstract: Based on observations from research at the junior rama’s men's badminton club, there are still many players in lobes that usually do not reach the goal, and the flexibility of the back muscles is less flexible, allowing stiffness when making punches and shuttles easily the opponent can be taken. the aim of this study was to determine the relationship between the muscle strength of the shoulder arm and the flexibility of the back muscles with the bunt of the badminton lobclub. The population in this research consisted of all male badminton juniors who became with a total of 10. Samples in this study were 10 people using total sampling techniques. The tools in this research were Expanding Dynamometer, hyper extension test and lob punch ability. The data obtained was analyzed using the product moment correlation. Based on the analysis of normality test data, X1 produces Lcount of 0.132 and Ltable 0.258 and X2 produces Lcount of 0.163 and Ltable 0.258. while the variable Y yields a Lcount of 0.144 and an Ltable of 0.258. This means Lcount <LTable. Based on statistical data analysis, the data is normally distributed. Based on the test requirements of the above analysis, the hypothesis test on the variables X1 and X2 against the Y variable data is 0.809> 0.798 Rhitung> Rtabel data. Thus, there is a joint relationship between the strength of the shoulder arm muscles and the back muscle flexibility of the badminton club. for men young junior.Key Words: Arm and shoulder muscle strength, Back muscle strength, Lop Punch Ability
