Abstract

The purpose of this study was to obtain information about the influence of leadership, emotional intelligence and work motivation on teacher’s job satisfaction. This research was conducted by survey on state senior high school of West Java, with sample of 100 permanent teachers of proportional random sampling technique. Analyzing of the data, study was conducted with using MINITAB statistical 14 and SPSS 17 program.The study found that there is direct and significant influence of the leadership of school principal on work motivation; There is direct and significant influence of EQ on work motivation; There is direct and significant influence of the leadership of school principal on job satisfaction; There is indirect significant influence of EQ on job satisfaction through work motivation; There is direct and significant influence of work m otiation on job satisfaction.

Abstract

The aim of this causal research is to obtain information related to the possibility that principals’ performance effected by technical skills, social skills, conceptual skills, and managerial skills.Survey was applied in this research which data have been analysed by path analysis after all variables put into a correlation matrix. In this research, the principals have been choosen as unit analysis and 114 samples selected randomly.The result of analysis find out that principals’ performance is effected directly by managerial skills, but effected indirectly by technical skills, social skills, and conceptual skills.Based on those findings it could be concluded that variation of principals’ performance might have been effected by the variation of technical skills, social skills, conceptual skills, and managerial skills.Therefore, technical skills, social skills, conceptual skills, and managerial skills should be put into the consideration in managing the principals’ performance of the State Elementary Schools in Central Jakarta.

Abstract

The objectives of this research is to find out the effects of leadership style, work environment, and the lecturers or teaching staff satisfaction. The research has been conducted at Pakuan University, Bogor. The method used was a survey with data analysis of path analysis. The respondents were 72 out of 264 total teaching staff in the university. They were selected at random. The research finding are as the followings: (1) leadership style has a direct effect on the lecturer’s satisfaction, (2) and also on the work environment has a direct effect on the job satisfaction, (3) the expectation gives a direct effect on job satisfaction, but the leadership style gives and indirect effect on job satisfaction, but the leadership style gives an indirect effect on job satisfaction through expectation, and (4) the working environment has also indirect effect on the job satisfaction through expectation. The conclusion is that the lecturer’s satisfaction is affected by the leadership style, work environment and the lecturer’s expectation.

Abstract

Subordinates’ satisfaction to the leadership in an organization is assumed to be affected by the leaders’ behavior, the task characteristics and their expectancies. The study reported here aimed to examine how the three variables actually affected the subordinates’ satisfaction to the leadership in the office of education of the Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi, and also how they affected each other. The causal study was conducted in the form of a survey to the employees in the Donggala Regency in their capacities as subordinates. The sample consisted of 97 employees, randomly selected from the overall number of employees of 129. The data of each variable were collected separately with a questionnaire. A path technique was employed to analyze the data with the SPSS technique. Result show direct effects of the leaders’ behaviors and the characteristics of the tasks on the subordinates’ expectancies, direct effects of subordinates’ expectancies on their satisfaction to the leadership style, but indirect effects of the leaders’ behaviors and the task characteristics on the subordinates’ satisfaction to the leadership through their expectancies. These findings suggest that the variables of leaders’ behaviors’ task characteristics, and subordinates’ expectancies are important determinants of satisfaction to the leaderhips. Improvement in the satisfaction to the leadership style my be therefore be expected by improved behaviors of the leaders, characteristics of the tasks and the subordinates’ expectancies.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of Total Quality Management in order to increase foreign student customers.The method used is qualitative descriptive method. The selection of this method is to obtain an overall picture of the problem being studied. As for the unit of analysis or research subject as a source of data are the leaders, lecturers, staff, technical supervisors, and the students of International University of Malaysia (IIUM).The data was collected by using questionnaires. Interview method is used to support the research, and the obtained-data was analyzed through triangulation. In general, the results of this study show that continuously improvement and involve all elements of the organization starting from the rector of IIUM to personnel at the technical level in order to improve customer service quality of foreign students. This worked well and coordinated according to the system that has been applied and has been in accordance with international standards. Based on data analysis, it is known that in general, Total Quality Management (TQM) that is applied by the rector of the International Islamic University (IIUM) has reached an optimal point, whether it in terms of Customer Satisfaction, Continuous Improvement, Speaking with Fact, and Respect for People. Thus, it can be concluded that TQM applications in order to improve Customer Service Foreign Students at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) was a great influence in improving customer service quality of foreign students in accordance with the vision, mission and objectives of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).

Abstract

The objective of the research is to obtain the direct effect of organizational culture and achievement motivation on the headmasters’ performance. The study was conducted at Bangka Regency and Pangkalpinang town in Bangka Belitung Province in 2010 by using a survey method with path analysis applied in testing hypothesis and 36 samples selected by simple random sampling.The finding of the research are: (1) there is a positive direct effect of organizational culture on headmasters’ performance; (2) there is a positive direct effect of achievement motivation on headmasters’ performance; and (3) there is a positive direct effect of organizational culture on achievement motivation.Based on these findings, it could be concluded that any changing or variation occured at headmasters’ performance might have been directly significant effected by achievement motivation and organizational culture.Therefore, when we want to minimaze the variation which occurred in headmasters’ performance, these factors such as achievement motivation and organizational culture are necessary to be taken into account.

Abstract

The objective of this causal research is to obtain information concerning the effect of communication and achievement motivation on PPs UNJ student satisfaction. The research was conducted by using a survey method with path analysis in testing hypothesis. In this research, PPs UNJ students of the school year 2009/2010 has been choosen as a unit analysis and 211 samples of student were selected in random. The results of the research are as follows: (1) there is a direct positive effect of communication on achievement motivation indicated by the value of the path coefficient = 0.404; (2) there is a direct positive effect of communication on PPs UNJ student satisfaction indicated by the value of the path coefficient = 0,223; (3) there is a direct positive effect of achievement motivation on PPs UNJ student satisfaction indicated by the value of the path coefficient = 0,304. Therefore, student satisfaction can be improved by optimizing the communication made by the director and staff, lecturers and administrative staff to students using a variety of appropriate media to get positive feedback from students. Furthermore, by constantly increasing the motivation of the students themselves.

Abstract

This goals research is study to relationship of organizational culture and reward with organizational commitment at Muhammadiyah Buton's University, which has relationship each other and also together. Started from January until March 2010. Observation method that used quantitative method and corellational method. 102 person of Population, it’s taken by purporsive random sampling, determined of total sampel of population are 81 persons. This observational result founds that: (1) positive relationship available among cultural organizational with organizational commitment; (2) positive relationship available among reward with organizational; and (3) positive relationship available among cultural organizational and reward as together with organization commitment.Based this observation founds that be suggested for Rector as chairman of University expected that college have to establish policy/organization discipline and consistently, and can get created of good culture organization. Despitefully, needs repair and good reward system settlement and balanced for lecturer on Muhammadiyah Buton's University.

Abstract

This study aims to solve existing problems at the University The problem that occurs is thought to still lower organizational commitment lecturer at the University of Muhammadiyah Sukabumi caused by the low achievement motivation factors and job satisfaction among faculty. Therefore, the causal approach and method of the survey are expected to increase the degree of organizational commitment of the lecturers at the University of Muhammadiyah Sukabumi. This research was conducted diUniversitas Muhammadiyah Sukabumi for three months, from May 2010 until July 2010. The research concludes the research hypothesis is accepted and implies: (1) there is a significant direct effect on organizational commitment, achievement motivation, (2) the existence of a significant direct effect of job satisfaction lecturer on organizational commitment, (3) there is a significant direct effect on achievement motivation job satisfaction; increase in the degree of organizational commitment and positive impact on university lecturers.

Abstract

The staff’s motivation is assumed to be significantly affected by their leader’s behavior, their personal characteristics, and the nature of their tasks. The causal study reported here aimed to examine the hypothesis. It was conducted in the Educational Office of the DKI Jakarta Province, through a four-month survey, from May 2009 to September 2009, involving 150 staff members who had been randomly selected from the overall 247 staff members. The data of each variable were collected separately by the respondents’ filling in a questionnaire. A path technique was employed to analyze the data. The results show positively direct effects of the leader’s behavior, the staff’s personal characteristics, and the nature of their tasks on their work motivation. A positively direct effect of the leader’s behavior was also apparent on the staff’s personal characteristics and also the nature of their tasks. But the leaders’ behavior showed a positively indirect effect on the staff’s motivation through their personal characteristics and the characteristics of their tasks. The findings suggest that variation in the staff’s motivation could be minimized if the variables of the leader’s behavior, the staff’s personal characteristics, and the nature of their tasks are taken into consideration.
