Elementary is published twice a year (every six months, i.e. January and July) as scientific communication means of academic people in the study of Islamic Elementary School Teacher Education. Editorial Board receives the articles from the educators, observers, researchers on Islamic Elementary School Teacher Education to be published after having tight selection, peer review, and serious editting.

Abstract

Ibtidaiyyah Madrasah (MI) is an essential part ofIslamic education. In MI, students begin learning basic process.One of the main subjects taught in MI is a social sciences (IPS). Ingeneral, the IPS has a great purpose in order to make learners to begood citizens. In realizing its effectiveness, teachers are importantfactors of IPS learning process in MI. The competent ones must besupported by some of the factors that influence it. This study carriedout tests on the influence of motivation, educational background,and ability to use the media to the professional competence of anMI social studies teacher at Kudus Regency. It used a quantitativeapproach by statistical method. Data analysis used SPSS. Fromthe analysis of the data, it is concluded that motivation variable,educational background, and media ability doubly influence 55,4%of professional competence variable While 44.6 % of the teachers’professional competence is influenced by factors or other variables .Key words: educational background, media ability motivation,professional competence

Abstract

Vygotsky was born in Orsha, Russia, 1896 and died inMoskow, 1934 due to tuberculosis. He had suffered since the ageof 38. In his so short but very productive lifetime, he produceda lot of psychology theories about intellectual development.Vygotsky’s main work was in developmental psychology, and heproposed a theory of the development of higher cognitive functionsin children that saw the emergence of the reasoning as emergingthrough practical activity in a social environment. The theoriesare, among others, concerned with the role of social interaction incognitive development, the dialectic of mind and language, conceptdevelopment, and the zone of proximal development. This articlediscussess those theories namely, the role of socioculture, as well astheir implications in Islamic education for children. Abstract: Lesson Study is not a strategy or method of learning,but it is one of the development efforts to improve the learningprocess conducted by a group of teachers in a collaborative andsustainable, in planning, implementing, observing and reportinglearning outcomes. It is not a project for a moment, however it is acontinuous activity that is relentless and is an attempt to apply theprinciples of Total Quality Management, which improve studentlearning processes and outcomes on an ongoing basis, based on thedata. This study aims to find out in depth about: (1) TeacherProfession Strengthening in MI Manbaúl Falah Sidorejo PamotanRembang, (2) Teacher Profession Strengthening in MI ManbaúlFalah Sidorejo Pamotan Rembang to its academic living, (3)feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of Teacher ProfessionStrengthening in MI Manbaúl Falah Sidorejo Pamotan Rembang.The method of the study is ethnographic qualitative research thatexamines human behavior in a natural setting by focusing on thecultural interpretation of the behavior. Furthermore, the datacollection techniques are observation (for event data sources),interviews (for respondent data sources), and documentation(for document data source). Data analysis technique is Spreadleymodel qualitative data analysis technique. By using is domainanalysis. Abstract

Education in its growth has consequences that arevery basic to the participants or the culprit. It is bound withthe main patterns of education that continues to provide amajor contribution in the future after the implementation of itseducational system. The reality of life borne in a race against theform of contributory education held. Reforming the curriculumin Elementary School (MI) educational unit is a necessity thatmust be done to organize the structure of learning in it to thedirected and competent region. MI has a great responsibilityto drive in between the globalized and competitive times.Educational formulation with the composition of the presentcurriculum without leaving Islamic messages is an absoluteentity that must be realized in MI curriculum. Consequently,the dynamics of an increasingly globalized age is not achallenge to be annuled MI curriculum away from its Islamicnuances. Elementary School is undoubtedly the best growthpace in with the global space and time realities. Hence, both acculturation current curriculum and Islamic curriculum at the past need to be realized in order to deny the traditional stereo-type past curriculum.
