ELEMENTARY Journal (Print ISSN: 2355-0155; Online ISSN: 2503-0256) is an Islamic teacher journal published by Islamic Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program (PGMI), Islamic Education (Tarbiyah) Department, State College on Islamic Studies (STAIN) Kudus. Elementary is published twice a year (every six months, i.e. January and July) as scientific communication means of academic people in the study of Islamic Elementary School Teacher Education. Editorial Board receives the articles from the educators, observers, researchers on Islamic Elementary School Teacher Education to be published after having tight selection, peer review, and serious editting.

Abstract

Character education is an important issue in the world of late-adult education. This is related to the phenomenon of moral decadence that occurs in the midst of society as well as in an increasingly diverse government environment. Among others include crime, injustice, corruption, violence in children, to the violation of human rights. This proves that there is indeed a crisis of identity and characteristics of the Indonesian nation. The existence of character education becomes an appropriate answer to the various problems that have been mentioned previously. It is known that character education is defined as education which develops character values in children so that they have values and character as their character, apply those values in their life, as members of society and religious, nationalist, productive and creative citizens. School as a place of education providers is expected to be a place capable of realizing the mission of character education.

Abstract

Curriculum evaluation research was motivated by theneed for curriculum development STAIN Kudus in 2008 whichhas been used in college (PT) for five years, and armed with thecurriculum autonomy PT contained in Law No. 20 Year 2003on National Education System Article 24. In 2013 a curriculumevaluation performed by some lecturers to be developed throughthis research with the ultimate aim to answer three formulationof the problem, namely: (1) the advantages and disadvantages ofcurriculum STAIN Kudus in 2008 in the course of Linguistics, (2)the structure of the curriculum is ideal for STAIN Kudus, and (3)STAIN curriculum sanctuary in 2013 in the subject of Linguistics.The purpose of this study was to analyze the advantages anddisadvantages of the Holy STAIN curriculum in 2008 in the courseof Linguistics, examine the structure of the curriculum is idealfor STAIN Kudus, as well as providing a curriculum deals STAINKudus in 2013.In the research methodology, the type of study is a literatureresearch. Curriculum Evaluation Model This study used aqualitative approach to the evaluation method. Sources of primarydata acquisition is a book syllabus of the Department of TarbiyahFaculty, STAIN Kudus. Then, the secondary data source supportingthe preparation of this research data is a reference in the form ofbooks that are relevant to the subject of Linguistics in particularon the application of science majors. As researcher and analyst,instrument or tool is the researcher’s own research. In gatheringthe data as an evaluation, researchers used two techniques namely,observation and documentation. Data analysis techniques thatresearchers use content analysis in the form of matters related tothe subject of Linguistics. Results and discussion of the study titledEvaluation of Curriculum STAIN Kudus Year 2013 is as follows:(1) a glimpse of STAIN Kudus, (2) analysis of the advantagesand disadvantages of curriculum STAIN Kudus Year 2008 in thesubject of Linguistics, (3) the curriculum structure ideal STAINKudus, and ( 4) STAINKudus  curriculum offer in 2013 in the course of Linguistics.As a suggestion ideal curriculum structure according to the researchers, namely: the graduate profile in accordance with thecompetence of departments / study programs to offset the extracompetence / support (++) ie ‘life skills’, the existence of the HumanResources (HR), ie, the entire community of academia are thosepeople who are competent in their field (stake holders, faculty,staff, students), courage deals curriculum on before the startof the course, the curriculum contains cognitive, affective, andpsychomotor, curriculum showed the facility college guidebookcurriculum implementation is available in every department andowned all actors curriculum, Tridharma college portion providedon the college curriculum, and the availability of standardization/curricula certification at every educational path.

Abstract

Tulisan ini hadir sebagai sebuah respon atas dinamika dunia pendidikan yang terus mengalami perubahan yang cukup signifikan seiring dengan laju perkembangan zaman. Tidak dapat dipungkiri bahwa perkembangan teknologi informasi telah mewarnai dinamika sekaligus menjadi bagian terpenting dalam dunia pendidikan khususnya di jenjang perguruan tinggi termasuk di STAIN Kudus. Pengembangan media pembelajaran dan pemanfaatan sumber belajar berbasis teknologi informasi dan komunikasi merupakan bagian terpenting bagi setiap perguruan tinggi, sehingga keberadaannya tidak dapat terpisahkan. Berdasarkan kebutuhan tersebut, STAIN Kudus terus melakukan upaya pengembangan mutu pembelajaran melalui pemanfaatan media pembelajaran dan sumber belajar berbasis teknologi informasi. Capaian perkembangan STAIN Kudus dalam hal pemanfaatan teknologi informasi tersebut ditandai dengan transformasi pengelolaan di beberapa aspek, mulai dari hal-hal yang terkait dengan administrasi, media pembelajaran, perjurnalan (OJS), digital library (repository) dan sebagainya.

Abstract

The purpose of musical learning in elementary school is to create and develop students’ personality. In musical learning at school, students have to get musical experience through listening activity, playing music, singing a song, reading music, and dancing to follow the music, so students get intact and comprehensive description about that song. In order to create a qualified music, so that could be realized only by a professional teacher who could create fun and creative learning. Thus, this article aimed to reveal: 1) how is the musical teacher’s role in elementary learning process, 2) how are the ways of elementary musical teacher to improve his/her professionality in developing musical skill mastery, and 3) how is the learning implementation through musical learning approach based creativity in elementary school.

Abstract

Learning activities for each individual are not alwaysable to take place naturally. This is due to the individual differencesamong students. Students cannot learn properly called withlearning difficulties. Learning difficulties is a drawback that isnot outwardly visible. Inability to learn is not to be recognizedin a physical form different from people who do not experienceproblems learning difficulties. This paper identifies factors thatcontribute the learning affect in children.

Abstract

The phenomenon of the ineffectiveness of the role of religion in building a clean society from corruption must be realized together. Therefore, Islamic education is expected to be a solution in dealing with corruption now and in the future, especially in the early preventive efforts. The theoretical approach of religion-based anti-corruption education seeks to see the extent to which the reality of society can be accommodated in aspects of Anti-Corruption Education, both on material aspects, learning methods, means of infrastructure and so forth. Islamic education in schools can play a role in combating corruption by integrating contextual Islamic learning materials with messages to be conveyed with regard to corruption. The research design used was qualitative which focused on anti-corruption religious education in elementary school. If this concept is applied, it is expected to change in the mindset of learners of religious values that can be applied in empirical life. So that further impact towards the realization of quality and dignified Indonesian society.

Abstract

Teachers as parts of the educational component havethe most important roles in achieving quality education agenda. Inachieving the goal of education, teachers are the spearhead whichalso directly related to teaching, educating, and guiding studentstowards the creation of the ideal man, the one who dignifies andcivilizes in the frame of faith and piety as a manifestation of thepurpose of human life itself.Teachers are able to carry out their duties as teachers, educators,and counselors are teachers who have the competence required inaccordance with national education standards. It is undeniablethat teachers in educational practice are still prevalent lack offulfillment as the ideal ones so that they can carry out the tasksand role as a real teacher. Therefore, there are needs to be serioustreatment related to the competence of teachers.Teachers should be able to generate high motivation in thestudents’ learning with enthusiasm and respect of students, as wellas provide good role models by providing concrete experience as aform of individual and social devotion and also capable of treatingall students in a democratic and humanist that would eventuallyinspire the formation of good behavior in students.

Abstract

This research aims to describe and to analyze about: 1) how to improve professional competence of mismatch teachers in Islamic religious education (PAI) in Islamic ElementarySchool of Pecangaan, 2) the effects on teachers' pedagogic competence, 3) how far the efforts of the mismatch teachers in solving the problem.This research is a descriptive qualitaive research. Based on the object of this research, it is included in a field of research. The methods used in this research are observation, interview and documentation. The result of this research shows: 1) there are efforts reconstructed in Islamic ElementarySchool of Pecangaan used to improve the professional competence of the mismatch teacher, such as: a) involved in a training, b) supervising, c) additional book, d) MGMP; 2) professional competence of the mismatch teachers influence their pedagogic competence, 3) the mismatch teachers condition relates to pedagogic competence create some problems, however the teachers solve them in some steps, they are: a) self adaptation and exercising, b) self study, c) checking references from books and internet, d) self exercising on using electronic media.

Abstract

Sasaran utama dalam kerangka sistem dan aktivitas persekolahan di antaranya mempersatukan pendidikan dan kreativitas peserta didik. Tujuannya untuk menumbuhkembangkan potensi-potensi yang dimiliki anak didik termasuk potensi memberikan respon kreatif terhadap hal-hal sekitar kehidupannya. Ada yang beranggapan bahwa bila daya kreativitas peserta didik rendah, maka secara pedagogis ada yang kurang pas dalam kerangka sistem dan aktivitas persekolahan. Pendidikan bukan hanya bagaimana cara untuk memperoleh pengetahuan. Namun, pendidikan merupakan upaya untuk meningkatkan pemahaman, sikap, kreativitas dan keterampilan serta perkembangan diri anak. Kemampuan atau kompetensi ini diharapkan dapat dicapai melalui berbagai proses pembelajaran di sekolah. Salah satu proses pembelajaran yang digunakan untuk mencapai kompetensi diatas adalah melalui pembelajaran di luar kelas (outdoor study). Artikel ini merupakan kajian library research yang menampilkan wacana dan sumber-sumber pustaka dalam menjawab pertanyaan yang terfokus dalam tema yang penulis ambil, yakni menampilkan bagaimana konsep penerapan pembelajaran di luar kelas, bagaimana lingkungan dan alam berperan sebagai sumber belajar pembelajaran di luar kelas, apa kelebihan dan kelemahan dari pembelajaran di luar kelas, serta bagaimana cara meningkatkan kreativitas siswa melalui pembelajaran di luar kelas.
