Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of digital marketing and e-wom on purchasing decisions for halal cosmetic products on gen z in Blitar city, as well as the intervening influence of brand image between digital marketing and e-wom on purchasing decisions for halal cosmetic products on gen z. The novelty of this research lies in the research location, namely in Blitar city. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires measured on a 5-point Likert scale to 250 Gen Z in Blitar City who purchased halal cosmetic products at least twice in the last 6 months. The collected research data were subjected to research instrument tests, classical assumption tests, path tests, and hypothesis tests. The results showed that digital marketing and brand image have an effect on purchasing decisions, e-wom has no impact on buying decisions, and brand image can intervene in the influence between digital marketing and e-wom on purchasing decisions. The results of this study contribute as evaluation material for companies to pay more attention to e-wom by improving sales services, collaborating with content creators in reviewing products, building online communities, and holding events that can provoke consumers to share their best experiences in using products to increase the number and quality of reviews related to halal cosmetics both on social media and shopping platforms so that potential consumers feel they are taking the right steps by making a purchase.

Abstract

Green banking is an approach that aims to mitigate market competition and preserve the environment since the banking sector is reliant on a healthy environment for its sustainability. If the banking sector does not implement this, it will increase legal risks, financing risks, and the bank's reputation. This research aims to find out the green banking development strategy of Sharia banks in Indonesia, along with the problems and potential solutions for its implementation. This research employs the Analytic Network Process (ANP) method and is processed using the SuperDecision software. The findings of this study reveal that Islamic banking in Indonesia has three distinct problems: The primary focus is on regulatory issues, followed by human resources problems, and subsequently, governance matters. Respondents have a rater agreement of W = 0.10345. The best solution to overcome the problem of developing green banking for Islamic banks in Indonesia is a human resources solution, followed by a regulatory solution and a governance solution. The level of respondent agreement or rater agreement W = 0.05461. Strategies for developing green banking for Sharia banks in Indonesia include improving the quality of human resources, implementing government support initiatives, and strengthening governance systems. Respondents have a rater agreement of W = 0.04598. Strategies for developing green banking for Sharia banks in Indonesia include strategies for improving the quality of human resources through employee green training and capabilities, strategies for implementing government support initiatives through the establishment of policies that facilitate the enactment of green banking in Sharia banks, and strategies for strengthening governance system by complying with the precautionary principle for an excellent image of Sharia banks.

Abstract

This paper aims to explore the crowding-out effect in the context of Islamic economics. Specifically, has the government's issuance of sukuk resulted in a decrease or even a negative impact on the financing growth of Islamic banks? In order to examine this effect, we use monthly data from all Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia from January 2008 to December 2023. This study employs autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) for data analysis. The results indicate that the growth in outstanding government sukuk is negatively and significantly related to the financing growth of Islamic banks, especially in the short term. In the long term, the growth in outstanding government sukuk tends not to have a significant effect on banking activities. Therefore, the growth of outstanding government sukuk has directly hampered Islamic economy and banking development.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the effectiveness of Islamic and conventional monetary policies in addressing inflation in Indonesia. This research is driven by the lack of comprehensive examination of the effectiveness and nuances of the dual monetary system. Additionally, the dynamics of dual monetary policies become the research gap that needs to be addressed for a more nuanced understanding of Indonesia's monetary landscape. Using the Vector Autoregression/Vector Error Correction Model and analyzing time series data from January 2013 to December 2021, the research reveals that neither sharia nor conventional instruments have immediate effects on inflation. However, specific sharia financial instruments substantially impact inflation dynamics in the long term. The study delves into the intricate relationship between these monetary instruments and inflation, shedding light on their nuanced contributions to the economic landscape. This comprehensive analysis contributes valuable insights for policymakers, economists, and stakeholders seeking a nuanced understanding of the dynamics between monetary policy and inflation in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research aims to compare and analyze the efficiency of Islamic banking in Southeast Asia and the Middle East by examining particular inputs such as third-party funds, operational expenses, labor costs, and return on assets, focusing on financing as the output. This quantitative study uses a purposive sampling technique to sample 30 sharia banks from Southeast Asia and 30 sharia banks from the Middle East from 2015 to 2022. The data used is secondary data from BankFocus and the annual financial reports of each bank. Data was processed using the Frontier 4.1 application with the Stochastic Frontier Analysis method. The results of this research show that the efficiency of sharia banking in the Middle East is higher than sharia banking in Southeast Asia. On the other hand, the return on assets has no impact on financing, but the input of third-party funds, operational expenses, and labor costs all have an impact. These findings show the importance of efficiently supervising the management of third-party funds and costs incurred by banks in order to improve banking performance. Hence, this will ultimately lead to an increase in the efficiency of sharia banking and a growth of banking profits.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect between bank health on profitability and firm value of Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia. This research employs a quantitative approach. Researchers conducted tests through the SPSS application and path analysis. The research included a total of 12 Islamic Commercial Banks for the financial year 2020-2022. The findings of this research demonstrate that RGEC (Risk Profile, Good Corporate Governance, Earnings, and Capital) have a simultaneous impact on bank health, specifically on profitaility through Return on Assets (ROA). Partially, only payments affect ROA. Meanwhile, other indicators of RGEC do not affect ROA. Partially, risk profile and earnings indicators affect Return on Equity (ROE). In contrast, two other indicators, namely good corporate profile and capital, do not affect ROE. Simultaneously, the influence of bank health on firm value is mediated by RGEC. Partially, the four RGEC indicators have no impact on firm value. In other tests, through the mediation flow, neither ROA nor ROE can mediate the effect of RGEC on firm value. Meanwhile, profitability through ROA and ROE affects firm value. The implications of this research significantly contribute to understanding the financial stability of bank health, its effect on profitability, its effect on firm value, and its contributions to the field of academic research.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the halal industry's influence on economic growth in Islamic countries. The research gap in this study is that previous studies have indicated a diverse influence of halal industry variables on economic growth. Therefore, this study aims to provide a deeper understanding of the role of the halal industry in enhancing economic growth in Islamic countries. This study is quantitative research using secondary data categorized as panel data. The data consist of annual figures on Islamic Finance, Halal Food, Halal Travel, Halal Fashion, Halal Media and Recreation, and Economic Growth from 2014 to 2020 in 10 Islamic countries, obtained from the State of the Global Islamic Economy (SGIE) Report and the World Bank. The data analysis technique used is Panel VECM. The study results show that only the Islamic Finance variable positively affects economic growth in the short term. In contrast, the other variables show no effect or a negative effect on economic growth.

Abstract

Islamic banking's financial stability can improve efficiency and health and be able to withstand shocks originating from internal and external factors. This study analyzes the impact of risk, diversification, and inflation on the financial stability of Islamic banking. By using monthly time series data from 2018–2022, the analysis method used is multiple linear regression and moderate regression analysis (MRA) using the Eviews version 10 application. The results showed that the credit risk variable (NPF) has a significant negative relationship to financial stability (Z-Score). As well as the liquidity risk variable (FDR), financing diversification has a significant positive effect on the financial stability of Islamic banking (Z-Score). Macroeconomic variables (inflation) can strengthen the effect of financing diversification and weaken the effect of liquidity risk (FDR), but inflation cannot moderate the effect of credit risk (NPF) on the financial stability of Islamic banking (Z-Score). This study introduces a new theoretical approach to the conceptual relationship between variables. The findings can serve as a reference for monetary authorities in considering the impact of inflation in setting financial stability policies.
