Abstract

The inequality of digital skills is an organizational challenge experienced by public and private organizations to ensure work productivity in work-from-home arrangements during Covid-19. This article aims to elaborate on digital skill development and examine the effects of digital leadership and digital collaboration on digital skill development. This article is based on a cross-sectional study involved 824 office workers from 32 provinces in Indonesia. The combined convenience and snowballing approach were used as the sampling methods. The collected data were structured in the first-order constructs by PLS Structural Equation Modeling. The results revealed that digital skills are significantly influenced directly by digital collaboration and indirectly by digital leadership. For accelerating digital skill development, the superior of office workers should facilitate their team members to collaborate intensively by using digital technology. Further study is recommended to examine the effects of other factors such as work motivation, family support, and availability of digital facility at home, performance management, and perceived organizational support.

Abstract

Transformational leadership greatly influences the management innovation and market performance of consumer good companies enterprises. According to the survey data about 244 employees of consumer goods companies, an empirical study was conducted on the relationship between transformational leadership, management innovation, knowledge sharing, market performance of consumer good companies enterprises, and analysis was made on the mediating effect of management innovation and knowledge sharing. The results showed that knowledge sharing has no significant effect on the market performance of consumer goods companies. Management innovation has not a significant effect on the market performance of consumer goods companies. Transformational leadership has no significant effect on the knowledge sharing of consumer goods companies. Transformational leadership has a significant effect on management innovation of consumer goods. Transformational leadership has no significant positive effect on the market performance of consumer goods companies.

Abstract

This research was conducted to identify the antecedents dimension of organizational commitment that consist of affective, continuance, and normative commitment to mediate transformational leadership on organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) in the salespeople's banking sector in Malang, East Java. The population of this research was the employees in the banking sector that provides insurance and investment services in Malang city. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling. A questionnaire was used as a research instrument. 118 responses were analyzed using Smart Partial Least Square software (Smart-PLS). The study result revealed that organizational commitment does not significantly affect OCB. The affective commitment was the best predictor in mediating the effect of transformational leadership on OCB. In contrast, continuance and normative commitment have an insignificant effect both directly and indirectly on OCB. This study was expected to be a reference for further research in the area of organizational outcome focused on organizational commitment and provide more information for decision making about the importance of leadership styles such as transformational leadership and organizational citizenship behavior.

Abstract

This study analyzes firm value with several variables that determine the high and low firm value. The ratios used in measuring firm value are price earnings growth (PEG) and price-earnings ratio (PER). In addition, in this study, PER served as a mediating variable and a comparison PEG in describing a true firm value. The samples obtained were 17 agricultural sector companies listed on the IDX for five years of observation from 2015 to 2019. The analytical methods used were RMSE, panel data regression, and path analysis. This research found that PEG is better at describing a firm's true value than PER. In addition, this study also found that the variable current ratio and debt to total capitalization ratio do not affect PEG. Meanwhile, the variable return on equity affects PEG. Next, the variable current ratio, debt to total capitalization ratio, and return on equity affect PEG after being mediated through PER. The return on equity is the determining variable in influencing the high and low PEG values. Further PEG research can be carried out on companies with high-risk characteristics such as banking, mining, property, real estate, construction, and buildings.

Abstract

Lecturer responsibilities in presenting learning materials and building students' character is considered very important in preparing future workers/entrepreneur. However, those responsibilities still have not received proper attention in certain institutions and even from the government. If this goes on continuously, it is feared that they will lose well performed individuals. This study aimed to investigate the level of turnover intention from the lecturer in six private universities in Bandung. And the role of financial rewards, job satisfaction, and affective organizational commitment as antecedents. Data collected using an online questionnaire. The numbers of total lecturers in those universities were around 3000. This study used a non-probability sample and distributed 500 questionnaires through the human resources office. And after two months, there are 288 participants which willing to complete the questionnaire. After the more detailed screening, we have 121 responses that met our requirements and can be used in this study. The study found that financial rewards were significantly affected job satisfaction and affective organizational commitment. But it was not significantly affected turnover intention. Partially, job satisfaction and affective commitment have not mediated the relationship between financial rewards and turnover intention. But, simultaneously, both variables have significantly mediated the relationship. These results give new understanding to the managers in the educational organization regarding maintaining the turnover level of their lecturers. In the future, studies can be conducted to cover lecturers from other cities in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze whether self-efficacy, intrinsic motivation, and extrinsic motivation can influence employee performance. The analysis was carried out using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) method using the AMOS version 24. The sample amounted to 200 people who are employees of various sectors of private companies in the Jabodetabek area. The results showed that self-efficacy led to increased employee performance. The higher self-efficacy in work, the employee performance will increase. Meanwhile, the motivation that affects employee performance is extrinsic, not intrinsic motivation. Extrinsic motivation is a mediator that strengthens the effect of self-efficacy on employee performance. The implication for the company is that the company must continue to improve the self-efficacy of employees through managers provides counseling continuously to employees in determining work goals/targets following KSA (knowledge, skills, and abilities). In addition, managers also need to assign clear, detailed, and measurable tasks to employees. In a pandemic like now, extrinsic motivation must be focused more. Various forms of extrinsic motivation that managers can do, such as: creating attractive incentive/bonus/ commission programs, giving praise to employees who have completed tasks, and giving recognition for good employee work. Further research can add variables that mediate the effect of self-efficacy on employee performance such as creativity variables, and the addition of independent variables such as transformational leadership that can affect selfefficacy, or add moderator variables such as job levels.

Abstract

Covid-19 impacts the world of education, so learning is carried out online due to a policy of maintaining distance. One of the methods used to keep the learning going in the pandemic era is by utilizing e-learning. The use of applications in online learning is an innovation for teachers in preparing material to be used in the online learning management process. The purpose of this study aims to describe learning management using Google Sites in pandemic at SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Singosari. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The data collection methods used in this study were interview, observation, and documentation during the learning process. The subject of this study were students of class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Singosari. Online learning management during pandemic conditions includes planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring. Online learning will be carried out with the help of Google Sites as a medium for delivering material. The planning stage includes observation, preparation of lesson plans, collection of material sources, and preparation of learning media using Google Sites. The organizing stage includes determining the communication channels used for the online learning process and focusing resources on the target. The implementation stage is the interaction carried out by teachers and students during learning. The supervision stage includes the evaluation stage in learning. Learning evaluation is carried out through student attendance and student activeness in participating in learning. Student attendance recap shows an increase in each meeting. The use of Google Sites as a learning medium during the pandemic can be further developed to increase student motivation and make it easier for students to learn while carrying out online learning.

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to analyze the mediating role of deviant behavior on the influence of organizational culture and ethical climate on employee performance. This study was conducted on 112 government-owned bank employees in Manado, using Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis. This study indicates that organizational culture and ethical climate have a significant positive effect on employee performance. Organizational culture and ethical climate also have a significant negative effect on deviant behavior. However, behavior does not have a significant effect on employee performance. Deviant behavior also does not mediate the influence of organizational culture and ethical climate on employee performance. This study places deviant behavior as a mediating variable on organizational culture and ethical climate on employee performance. An important finding from this study is that behavior does not play a role in improving employee performance, nor does it play a mediator between organizational culture or ethical climate to employee performance.

Abstract

The success of the banking industry in a crisis such as the Covid pandemic is highly dependent on employee performance. Employee performance in banking companies will increase employee efficiency and productivity. Employee performance improvement can be formed through accuracy in Work Placement and providing Work Motivation. Work Placement and employee motivation to improve performance are still debated in previous studies. Based on previous research gaps, this study aims to determine the effect of Work Placement and Work Motivation on Employee performance and to determine the effect of Work Placement on Employee performance through Work Motivation in employees of a government bank in Kediri, East Java, Indonesia. The number of respondents in this study was 58 people who were obtained by using the saturated sampling technique for employees. The data collection method used a questionnaire with PLS (Partial Least Square) analysis tool. The results of this study indicate that employee placement and work motivation influence the employee performance of a bank company. However, the Work Motivation variable as a moderating variable cannot be proven because there is no influence between the Work Placement variable on Work Motivation. The next researcher can retest and develop the concepts used in this research to contribute to the development and renewal of management science.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze the role of employee engagement from the perspective of job engagement and organization engagement on job satisfaction and its effect on organizational performance. This research was conducted at a multinational manufacturing chemicals company located in Tangerang and Cilegon. The population was approximately 121 employees consisting of three job levels: Manager, White Collar, and Blue Collar. A target sample determined approximately 93 employees. Sampling using a non-probability sampling approach with a quota sampling method. The questionnaire was distributed to the population, but only 86 respondents filled out and returned the questionnaire. Method of hypothesis testing using Partial Least Square of Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach. The results suggested that job engagement has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction but does not significantly affect organizational performance. Next, organization engagement has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction but does not significantly affect organizational performance. Furthermore, job satisfaction has a positive effect and significantly influences organizational performance. Future research is advisable to examine the relations of other variables such as workload, work-life balance, and implementation of an integrated management system, which, believed, can provide a comprehensive view of employee engagement, job satisfaction, and organizational performance.
