Abstract

This article was aimed at describing the agency problem between investors and managers with solutional propositions and factors that affect capital structure as offered by the experts such as Modigliani and Miller, Myers, Jensen, and Brigham & Daves. A possible inference was proposed after explorating theories for solving the agency problem. Companies should enhance their managerial behaviour through asset growth strategy, potential growth strategy, and liquidity strategy in managing risks, particularly market risk. Thus, their productivity, performance, and value may be increased.

Abstract

Retail Business in Indonesia has growth in a great number, especially supermarket, in Malang City, causes the tight competition. The understanding of situational effect on consumer's purchasing decision assists the manager of supermarket to prepare the plan and appropriate retail strategy to deal with such competition. The purpose of this research are (1) to determine the impact of situational factors on impulse buying decisions in Food Product at Giant Supermarket (2) to determine the impact of situational factors on impulse buying decisions through buying impulsiveness in Food Product at Giant Supermarket (3) to determine the impact of buying impulsiveness on impulse buying decisions in Food Product at Giant Supermarket. 140 respondents were taken as sample. Sample method is purposive sampling. Tests a hypothetical model using Path Analysis. The result of this research are (1) situational factors have a significant impact on impulse buying decisions in Food Product at Giant Supermarket (2) situational factors have no significant impact on impulse buying decisions through buying impulsiveness in Food Product at Giant Supermarket (3) buying impulsiveness have no significant impact on impulse buying decisions in Food Product at Giant Supermarket. The research suggest for Giant Supermarket are to make a better exterior and interior so the customer can shop and do recreation at a same time and also to complete the food product such as fruits and always update the new food product in Indonesia.

Abstract

The research aims to examine and analyze the influence of discipline, motivation, and organizational commitment towards job satisfaction of lecturers in STKIP South Nias. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires to 64 lecturers of STKIP South Nias. A sampling technique used was probability sampling with simple random sampling method;data test technique was used in this research including validity, reliability test with. WhereasPathAnalysis was used to verify and to prove the research hypothesis. Analysis result demonstrated that discipline had a positive influence towardsorganizational commitment,motivation had a positive influence towardsorganizational commitment, the organizational commitment had a positive influence towards job satisfaction,as well as discipline and motivation, had a positive influence towards job satisfaction through organizational commitment.

Abstract

Service schools  rated excellent if the quality of service and teaching in schools to meet the desires, expectations and needs of students. In addition to the quality of service, satisfaction is also influenced by the image of the school itself.Student satisfaction will generate the loyalty.Loyalty of students indicated with the delivery of positive word of mouth about school services, giving recommendations to the younger generation of the school of origin and family to study at the same school.This study aims to determine the loyalty of students in SMK Rembang Pasuruan, with the factors that influence it, that is quality of service, school's image, and student satisfaction. This study is a quantitative empirical research. The data were obtained from 200 students in SMK Rembang Pasuruan.Analysis of the data used is Partial Least Square (PLS) with PLS-Path Modeling (PLS-PM)method.The results of the research are: first, the services quality of school to students nearly met.The higher the quality of service caused the higher student satisfaction.Second, the school's image in the eyes of the students has been good. The highschool's image makes the student be satisfied to learn in school and the school's image also directly affectto student loyalty.Third, student satisfaction are lacking.Student satisfaction does not affect to student loyalty.

Abstract

The global challenges in the economic sector has become more complex and turbulence. Many companies have executed management changes in order to survive and create strategies to compete with their competitors. More than two decades, human resource management has been developed into strategic to face the global challenges, and the roles concept of human resource professional created by Ulrich et. al. has been executed by many companies around the world. Many researchers have stated that a key to achieving competitive advantage is that of the strategic roles of human resource management. In the service industry, specifically in hospitality, in which human resource as the main resource to run the business, the strategic roles of the human resource manager is very important in creating competitive advantage. This research aims to identify and describe the strategic roles of human resource managers in a hospitality industry. This study conducted in three-star hotels in Malang and interviewed six human resource managers as participants. Qualitative method used in this research and positivist underlying philosophical assumption. Using semi-structured interview in data collection, this paper identifies three themes to be analyzed by coding using software NVivo International 10. The first is the strategic roles of human resource managers contribute to anticipating the competitive business challenges; the second, their strategic roles in creating competitive advantage; and lastly, a human resource as a key in creating the competitive advantage for the company. The first two themes are analyzed by a number of coding references, the finding mentioned that there are two human resource managers who conduct strategic roles as the strategic partner and change agent. While the third theme is analyzed by word tree and giving the result that the factor of achieving competitive advantage is that of human resource.

Abstract

This study aims to assess how the role of entrepreneurial identity and selfefficacy in mediating the relationship between the role model and entrepreneurial performance. The population selected in this study is students of UniversitasCiputra who have been running start-up business for 2 to 3 years, with the turnover of fewer than 4.8 billion per year. The results of this research indicate a pattern that connects the existence of a role model and entrepreneurial performance, where the influence is mediated by entrepreneurial identity and self-efficacy. The existence of a role model is proven to influence the formation of entrepreneurial identity. The more individuals perceive themselves as an entrepreneur, the higher their confidence in their ability in setting up and running a business. The high level of confidence in their ability that they will be successful will have a direct impact on the improvement in entrepreneurial performance.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to find out how Managerial Ownership, Institutional Ownership, Leverage, Company Size, Profitability, and Investment Opportunity influence on Dividend Policy. The population of this study is a manufacturing company that is listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange Period 2007 to 2011 as many as 203 companies. This study used population criteria methodand obtained saturation samples from 32 companies. The data used are secondary data and methods of analysis is multiple regression analysis. The results showed that Institutional Ownership, Firm Size and Profitability has a positive influence, while Managerial Ownership has a negative but insignificant influence on dividend policy. Leverage has a negative influence while Investments Opportunity has a positive and significan influence on dividend policy. The conclusion of this study is a manufacturing company that has a high leverage will hold most of its earnings to repay debt and or for further fund projects so the company is able to maintain balance its capital structure in order to remain optimal. Manufacturing companies that have high profitability will provide a high dividend payments to give a signal to investors that the company foresees good profitability in the future

Abstract

The purposes of this research are to investigate the key factors contributed to the informal sector businesses success, how the key factors formed, and how unique the key factors contributed to daily profit. The research was undertaken in Makassar City, South Sulawesi, Indonesia by asking 450 respondents using listed Indicators mentioned in questionnaires, observing the informal sector businesses in several streets in Makassar and asking the participants to list the important indicators which are believed to be important in making informal sector business success. The collected data were analyzed using multidimensional scaling analysis to classify the class of indicators. The research concluded that there were several aspects contributed to the success of informal sector businesses. Firstly, the use of equity is the most important indicator in financial aspect, the owners tended to refuse the use of debt. Secondly, in environment aspect, the owners identified that choosing good place, approval place by the government, neighbor skills watching, be aware of removal by the taskforce, training and technical support and keeping in touch with current technology were very important. Thirdly, the marketing aspect. the respondents emphasized in service quality, the quality of the product or services and performed the special treatment to customers in order to achieve the success. However the informal sector did not over service guarantee and did not believe that selling other owners' product could contribute to success of the business.

Abstract

 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are the business Group that become important part in the development of the national economy, and also as strategic sector for the nation of Indonesia. The increasing of the number MSMEs is not accompanied by an increase the quality and competitiveness to face the competition from other MSMEs, many factor which influenced toward the increased of performance and competitiveness should come first, as well as reduce the problems that become obstacles the development MSMEs. The problems faced by MSMEs in Malang Regency including managerial aspect to managed business and government policies that have not fully give benefit for micro and macro business. The purpose of this research is to analyze influence of business management variables (X1) and government policies (X2) on the performance (Y1) competitiveness (Y2) food agro industrial MSMEs in Malang. The research used Partial Least Square (PLS) method to analyzing the data. Respondents of this study are 30 MSMEs, who were taken using purposive sampling technique. The results showed that the variables of business management not significant effect on performance and significant effect on the competitiveness of MSMEs. Government policies have a significant effect on the performance of MSMEs and not significant effect on competitiveness. Performance of MSMEs has a significant effect on competitiveness. Variable business management provides the strongest direct influence on the competitiveness of MSMEs.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the macroeconomic effects seen from the exchange rate, inflation, and purchasing power to lending channeled by conventional banks. By this research is quantitative research with research type which used is causal research. The sampling in this study using purposive sampling method and found that the sample of this study is Bank BUKU 4. This study uses multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The results from the results of this study are when viewed partially, there are two variables that are not significant to the dependent variable, the exchange rate and inflation variables have a negative relationship toward the amount of loan disbursement and not significant. This applies to policies that the government and BI set to maintain the stability of the country's economic system. As for the variable purchasing power has a significant influence and has a negative relationship with the amount of loan disbursement. From the results of this study is expected to continue to maintain the macroeconomic situation in Indonesia in order to increase the growth of lending and the importance of supervision from the government to maintain the stability of macroeconomic conditions in Indonesia
