Abstract

Covid-19 pandemic had a real negative impact on all sectors, including startup. More than half of total start-ups in Indonesia can’t survive the crisis caused by Covid-19 pandemic. This requires the organization to be able to develop its ability to survive. The answer to this challenge is organization resilience. Organizational resilience can anticipate potential threats, respond to unexpected events, and achieve sustainable growth. Through a recent literature study related to theory and conceptualization of organizational resilience, as well as considering contextual factors adapted to organizations, especially startup, this research succeeded in developing a theoretical model related to organizational resilience. The framework is built on three variables, namely organization resilience as the dependent variable, knowledge management as independent variable, and organization innovativeness as intervening variable, with 11 sub-variables, and four hypotheses. Furthermore, this framework can be an initial picture and insight for Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of startup, to navigate organizations in dynamic environments, crisis situations, or in the midst of today's global competition

Abstract

The processing of dried betel nut by the people of West Kalimantan consists of 2 stages, namely drying and stripping the betel nut. The drying process usually carried out by farmers is drying directly in the sun, and the smoking process uses fire to heat. The method of drying the areca nuts takes about 14-15 days. This study will examine the problems faced by farmers in the process of drying areca nuts. Based on the issue of drying areca nuts, it is necessary to have an alternative method of drying that is more efficient. Areca nut drying machine is an alternative to obtain dried betel nut relatively quickly with well-maintained fruit quality. The design of the areca nut drying machine is made based on the identification of farmers' needs. Identifying farmers' needs or desires will be an attribute of product development, and technical parameters are determined to meet these product attributes. The method that will be used is the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method. The study results that priority attributes must be completed based on calculations in the planning matrix using QFD. The design of the areca nut has dimensions of 260 mm x 490 mm, with the specifications of the tool consisting of two main parts, namely an inner filter (a place for betel nuts) and a betel nut dryer.

Abstract

Excessive work fatigue felt by workers due to the addition of working hours or overtime, a less ergonomic work environment is felt by employees who work at PT. XY, workers complained about the large demands of the tasks they received with insufficient rest time, some workers remained focused and concentrated for a long time resulting in physical and psychological workloads on workers. To resolve the problem, a questionnaire was distributed to the entire population of 40 powder production workers using the NASATLX method with a focus on 6 indicators, namely mental needs, physical needs, time requirements, work performance, effort, and frustration levels as well as the KEP/75/M.PAN/7/2004. The purpose of this research is to analyze the workload of powder production workers, determine the dominant indicators based on the NASA-TLX method and determine the optimal number of workers based on KEP/75/M.PAN/7/2004. From this study, the results of the workload of 40 workers were 9 workers in the rather high category, 30 workers in the high category, and 1 worker in the very high category. The number of workers 40 is optimal but the workload is not good enough.

Abstract

PT Alis Jaya Ciptatama (AJC) is a company engaged in the furniture industry, where the products are exported. One of the products from PT AJC is a wine bottle rack. In the production of wine bottle racks at PT AJC, many product defects were found. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct further research to determine the quality of the product, so that the correct product quality improvement is obtained. The purpose of this study was to determine the limits of statistical control and the factors causing defects in wine bottle racks so that the quality improvement provided was right on target. The methods used in this research are Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Fuzzy Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (F-FMEA). SPC method is used to determine statistical control limits and factors causing product defects. The F-FMEA method is used to determine the priority of improvement in improving the quality of wine bottle racks. The results of the research related to the statistical control limits of the SPC method were obtained that the defective data were outside the statistical control limits. While the results of research related to the causes of product failure using the SPC method are human, machine, material, environmental, method, and measurement factors. Factors causing product failure were analyzed using the F-FMEA method so that improvement priorities were obtained, namely the lack of experience of workers with an FRPN value of 269.33. Improvements that need to be made by PT AJC include providing training to mill 1 workers and splitting the logs.

Abstract

The rapid growth of the automotive industry was also followed by growth in subsidiary companies. One of the subsidiary companies is a company that produces auto parts such as wheels. Sales volume in 2021 increased to more than 2 million products while for 2022 to April it was more than 1 million products. High demand is not accommodated due to inadequate production capacity, one of which is the machining area. This study aims to increase efficiency by redesigning the layout of the factory which is considered to increase production results in the machining area. The method used in this research is Block Layout Overview with Computerized Planning using Logic and Algorithm (Blocplan). The results showed that the redesign of the machining area could reduce stagnation by adding 1 unit of multi drill machine. Relayout in the machining area can reduce 93” time stagnation for the K2SA rear ABS type which can produce 2 outputs at once. The delay in the machining area can be reduced from 4,863 seconds to 0 seconds.

Abstract

SP Aluminum is engaged in the manufacturing industry by producing cooking utensils. In its application, SP Aluminum has tried to produce quality products to satisfy consumers. However, there are still defects that appear in its products. Another problem is the product defects have not been handled seriously by the company. Based on these problems, this study utilizes 5 quality control methods from seven tools: flowchart, check sheets, p-chart, Pareto diagram, and fishbone diagrams. This research is a quantitative qualitative with direct data collection through observation and interviews. The data taken is the product defect in Super Wok Number 12. There are 49 defects data that have been processed. From the results of the check sheet analysis, it was found that the intensity category of the product defects occurrence was obtained. Furthermore, control chart analysis show that there are some data that are out of control. Then, Pareto diagram analysis show the most dominant types of defects are holes, dregs, and pores. Finally, the factors of the absence of written SOPs, less thorough and less competent employees, poor working environment, lack of machine maintenance, poor handling of raw materials and inappropriate material handling processes were common causes of product defects.
