Abstract

The packaged beverage industry with various brands has appeared on the market. The number of competitors in the market requires the packaged beverage industry to implement the right strategy to win the competition. One strategy that can be applied is to make savings and maximize the use of company resources. One of the savings that can be done is to minimize production costs, while maximizing the use of resources can be done by maximizing the utility of the machine owned by the company. Efforts to minimize production costs can be contradictory to efforts to maximize machine utility, this is because maximizing machine utility will certainly require additional production costs, even though the company also wants to minimize production costs. This is included in the category of multi-criteria decision-making problems. To facilitate the company's management in achieving these contradictory company goals, this study will develop a multi-criteria decision-making model to assist companies in making optimal decisions regarding these contradictory company goals. The multi-criteria decision-making model developed is a mathematical model consisting of two mutually contradictory objective functions, namely minimizing production costs and maximizing machine utility, as well as problem constraints which are limitations that are owned by the company in optimizing the achievement of these contradictory company goals. To optimize the multi-criteria decision-making model that has been developed, it will use the global criterion method. The global criterion method will produce a compromise solution that has a minimum deviation from the ideal value of each objective function. Using the global criterion method, a production plan that minimizes production costs and maximizes machine utility is obtained. The multi-criteria decision-making model developed will cause the production plan to have a small deviation from the actual demand, because the model development involves forecasting product demand. The developed model will also produce a production plan that will not exceed the warehouse capacity, so that product storage costs can be minimized, this is because the developed model includes warehouse capacity as a barrier.

Abstract

In an increasingly competitive industrial environment, every company strives to increase the quality and efficiency of its product development process. PT. Udaka Indonesia, a clothing manufacturer, is experiencing raw material shortages that disrupt the company's production process. The goal of this research is to assess and segment the company's suppliers. The Best Worst Method (BWM) is employed for weighting criteria, and Fuzzy TOPSIS is used to rank alternative providers and subsequently segment them. The dimensions of capabilities (8 criteria with 26 sub-criteria) and willingness (4 criteria with 15 sub-criteria) make up the company's supplier evaluation criteria. The evaluation results suggest that suppliers A2, B2, C2, and D2 are the best in terms of capabilities for label accessories, stickers, paper tags, and polybags, respectively, while A1, B2, C2, and D2 are the best in terms of willingness. Supplier segmentation results show that segmentation 1 includes suppliers C1, B1, B3, and D1, segmentation 2 includes supplier A3, and segmentation 4 includes suppliers A1, A2, B2, B4, C2, and D2.

Abstract

Construction of the Provincial road project from Parigi to Sukamanah is carried out by PT. Jaya Madiri Konsulindo as consultant and PT. Karya Tunas Mandiri Persada as contractor. The problem of the construction project is implementation duration does not match to previous planning which results delay in completion time. It is necessary to re-plan the project in order to get either optimal time or cost. The purpose of this research is to find out the critical work path using critical chain project managemet method by utilizing microsoft project software and optimization of project time and cost using crashing method with alterative increase of working hours (overtime) and addition of labor. The research’ scope is limited on labor cost only. Based on the results of the study obtained that initial labor wage cost is IDR 585,025,000.00 with a working duration of 154 days, and results of the alterative crashing  method is lower with labor wage cost IDR 576,750,000.00. It could save cost about IDR 8,275,000.00 with duration of work 150 days or earlier 4 days from the initial duration.

Abstract

Inventory control is an important problem that is commonly faced by a company, because the presence of raw materials is very important for companies, therefore it is necessary to carry out good inventory control management in managing raw material inventory, raw materials are materials that are part of the finished product and can be identified to the finished product. One of the methods used to plan raw material control is to use dynamic programming methods. Before performing calculations with dynamic programming, it is necessary to forecast the use of raw materials for the next one year period, then dynamic program calculations can be done by making mathematical models, determining the objective function, constraint function, and recursive function of the problem at hand. This study aims to determine the raw material requirements of copper wire needed for production in the 2021 period. To optimize the supply of copper wire raw materials in order to minimize ordering costs, purchasing costs, and raw material storage costs.

Abstract

The development of information technology has become a necessity for every company, one of which is the optimization of inventory planning. The joint warehouse owned by the Chickenpedia Restaurant which has to supply various types of raw materials to the three restaurant branches often experiences stock outs and has to make emergency orders resulting in losses. For this reason, it is necessary to control the inventory of raw materials in the shared warehouse so that stock outs can be overcome and losses that arise can be minimized. One of them is by using the Continuous Review method. By using this method, the optimal order quantity and reorder point will be obtained. The weakness is iterative calculation and monitoring of raw material stock manually. For this reason, it is necessary to support an information system to speed up and make it easier to calculate when to place an order and how many orders of raw materials to suppliers so as to reduce the occurrence of running out of raw materials. The Information System can also monitor the stock of raw materials every day in real time based on the number of incoming and outgoing goods that enter the application.

Abstract

CV. Limase Laras is a wood furniture industry in Yogyakarta that has increased production. The company uses electrical energy which contributes to carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and produces solid waste of sawdust in the production process. On the other hand, with the large assets and high sales of the company, it is important to conduct financial analysis thus the company does not make wrong decisions. Based on these problems, the methods used in this study are Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to evaluate environmental impacts and Life Cycle Cost (LCC) to analyze life cycle costs. From the LCA analysis, sawdust waste is the highest impact by producing four environmental impacts, namely, global warming (936 x 10-2 kg CO2-eq), aquatic eutrophication (2.12 x 10-3 kg NO3-eq), photochemical ozone formation that affects humans (9.04 x 10-3 person*ppm*hours), and photochemical ozone formation that affects plants (113 m2 UES). From the LCC analysis, the NPV value is Rp8,278,512,276.00, which means that the bookshelf production process provides benefits for the company. The B/Cnet value is 37.9, which means that the bookshelf is beneficial. However, the bookshelf production process will be not feasible to continue if the company experiences a 40% decrease in annual revenue.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is a manufacturing company which engages in Defense and Commercial. One of the machines used is a disamatic machine which is a machine that produces shoulder components for railway tools. This machine is an old machine, so that problems that arose on the production floor were often caused by the cessation of the process on the production floor due to machines stuck, machines damaged, or machines not running properly so that it can reduce the machines productivity. The method used in analyzing this problem is by calculating the value of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Six Big Losses to identify the performance of industrial machines. From the results of data processing, the OEE value owned by PT. XYZ is 61.94%. This value is still below the ideal value standard set by JIPM, which is 85%. The factor which influenced the lower OEE value was the low-efficiency performance, which is 68.29%. Based on the calculation of Six Big Losses, the most dominant loss causing a decrease in machine effectiveness was reduce speed losses, which is 42.38%. This factor was analysed by Pareto and fishbone diagram. The result of this study can be useful for the company to increase their productivity which will increase their profits.

Abstract

Shallots (Allium cepa var ascalonicum L.) is one of the most popular food additives in Indonesia. These ingredients are used to add flavor to Indonesian cuisine. The increase in community needs caused by the increase in population has an impact on increasing the demand for shallots every year. This increase also occurred in Bantul Regency. The demand for shallots in Bantul is not accompanied by a balance in the amount of supply obtained from shallot-producing areas. This is because most farmers in Bantul Regency only plant shallots in the dry season. Therefore, this study seeks to propose how to balance the supply of shallots by farmers with market demand to increase farmers' profits. This study uses a dynamic system simulation approach with the help of Powersim studio 9 software. The first step is to build a Causal Loop Diagram (CLD) to see the causal or reciprocal relationship between variances and stock-flow diagrams to compile a mathematical formulation of the system model. dynamic. The simulation results are then validated to determine the credibility of the model. After the model is declared valid, 3 (three) scenarios of implementing the strategy in the shallot supply chain model will be generated. The best model scenario simulation results are scenario 1 (one), namely by replacing the use of tuber seeds in all activities.
