Abstract

PT. Pos Indonesia (Persero) entered into a collaboration with PT. Taspen (Persero) in the payment of pension funds. The Sanggau Post Office is a place of public service, where during the Covid-19 pandemic there were still many people queuing to collect pension funds. The number of customers who took pension funds was 208 customers, so there was a long queue which resulted in the crowds of customers queuing up. The application of physical distancing as an effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19 by implementing health protocols while queuing. According to WHO, the physical distancing distance is one to two meters. The need to reduce the queues that occurred during the Covid-19 pandemic can be designed a queuing system model in accordance with existing conditions and an alternative proposed improvement for the optimal queuing system using a simulation method with the help of Arena software. The results showed that the average total time was 10.9 minutes and the average waiting time was 33.9 minutes. Based on the results of the repair scenario, the best scenario for improvement is scenario 2, in the form of a proposed improvement for the addition of 2 counters. Scenario 2 obtains an average total time of 4.9 minutes, while the average waiting time is 5.04 minutes. Therefore, the Sanggau Post Office can add 2 service counters, so there are 3 counters that can serve customers taking pension funds.

Abstract

One of the activities of the Karawang ADM Engine Plant in component export is to mix part packing, which is the process of combining several component parts with a certain quantity box into one pallet. This is done to streamline delivery to the destination country. This research was conducted to analyze problems and make improvements in order to achieve the target of zero flow out with the Poké Yoke approach, to design processes or tools so that errors do not occur or at least can be detected or corrected. The flow out occurs when the clip hose part separates from the module and the part way brake actuator is left in the consumable area. Identify the problem using why analysis and the main factors that cause the flow out of man, methods, and environment factors. Some improvement ideas based on Poké Yoke ideas are presented at the end.

Abstract

Climate change which is triggered by a consumptive human culture continues to be a concern for many parties to be tackled. Shoes have become the primary need of urban communities because of their function that cannot be separated from their daily activities. Shoes that are purchased by consumers are usually packaged in cardboard boxes that follow the components of the contents, namely the shoes and accessories inside. In this case, shoeboxes with the right design and function according to consumer preferences will reduce the likelihood that the shoeboxes are thrown into the trash. Although it is not the centre of consumer attention, shoe boxes remain a necessity in the final production process. It is necessary to design and develop a shoebox product that is in accordance with the final function of the shoebox according to consumer interests. This study uses the QFD method which produces quality 1 houses with communication tools in the form of a preliminary questionnaire to 30 respondents and a follow-up questionnaire to 100 respondents. Concept selection was carried out on the eight alternative concepts developed. The shoebox concept chosen to take into account the desires of the consumer will be made with a sporty shoebox standard size of 22.5 x 12.3 x 32.5 cm. The environmentally friendly shoebox can be seen through the installation of plastic straps which are expected to reduce the use of single-use plastics. In addition, the shoebox is made with an innovative design so that users can use it repeatedly as shoe storage or multipurpose box.

Abstract

An advanced public transportation system becomes an indicator for a country. Accordingly, it is essential that the decision-makers (DMs) conduct an initial study based on passengers’ view in order to improve the public transportation services. Since involving multi factors, the problem is often solved using the multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) approaches. This study aims to examine significant factors on passengers decision making to use public transportation using Fuzzy AHP and DEMATEL. The Fuzzy AHP method is proposed to determine criteria weights so that significant critera are obtained, then the causal relations including the criteria are visualized using DEMATEL. This study demonstrates the integration of the two MCDM methods in a BRT system in the region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia, and invites passengers and the DMs. The result indicated that 21 criteria are identified, while the 11 significant criteria are selected based on the Fuzzy AHP weight – α-cut screening. Besides, the DEMATEL has succeeded in describing the influence relationship for the criteria, where firstly, the significant criteria are classified into cause and effect group and secondly, the two criteria, namely coverage to strategic points and on time arrival, should be put on the top priority list. This study enables the DMs to solve public transportation problems more effectively. However, the follow-up study should be carried out by including other factors such as economic and sustainability to strengthen the decision-making process.

Abstract

Kasongan Ceramic UKM Center is an association of UKM which makes goods made from clay. Kasongan Ceramic UKM Center, located in Bantul Regency, DIY. The problem that is often experienced by Kasongan Ceramics Center is that products that are often cracked, warped, and easily brittle. The total production of Kasongan UKM Center from September 2019 to February 2020 was 32,256 units, with the number of defective products amounting to 3,873 or 12% of the total production. Based on the studies that have been done, it can be concluded that the defects of cracks, curling, and brittleness that occur are one of them caused by the less than optimal flexural strength of the ceramic products produced. To maximize the flexural strength of the ceramic products produced, the optimal ceramic manufacturing process parameters will be determined using the Taguchi method. To maximize the flexural strength in the process of making ceramics using the Taguchi method, it is necessary to do an experimental design. The first thing to do is to determine the controlled factors and levels in the ceramic manufacturing process that affect the flexural strength. After that determine a suitable orthogonal array and perform experiments based on the specified orthogonal array. The experimental results will be tested for its flexural strength in the laboratory. The resulting flexural strength data will be processed to determine the optimal ceramic manufacturing process parameters that maximize the bending strength of ceramics. Based on the data processing carried out, it is found that the optimal ceramic-making process parameters at the Kasongan Ceramics UKM Center that maximize flexural strength are the composition of 3 parts Godean clay, 3 parts Kasongan clay composition, 1 part sand composition, and burning using an open tub.
