Abstract

Garment industry is an industry that focuses on manufacture of clothing. Along with the times, development model and function clothing is increasingly varied. Company’s effort is  determine best supplier. Based on observations in Central Java garment industry, it was found problems related to continuity of fabric supply from major suppliers. When demand soars, demand for cloth supply also increases. However, the availability of fabric supplies owned by main suppliers is not able to meet the needs of garment industry. Therefore, garment industry requires alternative backup suppliers who are able to meet the supply of fabric when the main supplier is inadequate. Supplier selection will be carried out using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method in weighting and Technique for Others Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method in ranking priority order of suppliers. This supplier priority will be used as an alternative supplier that will meet the availability of fabric supply.

Abstract

The increasing market competition in the Indonesian automotive manufacturing industry requires automotive manufacturing companies to adapt to changes through product development activities. Unfortunately, failure in product development projects is still high. One of the possible key factors of a successful product development project is work motivation. Another factor that is suspected to affect is the complexity of the project. Therefore, this study aims to find the effect of work motivation and project complexity on product development project performance. The research was conducted on 94 members of product development project team in Indonesian automotive manufacturing industry with a minor change scale using purposive sampling. Data was collected through online questionnaire with a response rate of 65.7% and then analyzed using PLS-SEM. The results of the study showed that project complexity had a positive effect on work motivation and otherwise on project performance. On the other hand, it turns out that work motivation is not proven to affect the performance of product development projects in the automotive manufacturing industry in Indonesia.

Abstract

Fish Production Center “Asap Indah” is one of the production centers in Demak, which specializes in processing fresh fish into semi-processed products, smoked fish. To support the sustainability of product distribution, supply chain management is needed to oversee the process from procurement of raw material to distribution to final consumers. Therefore, a comprehensive supply chain management analysis is necessary to increase sales and establish effective distribution channels. This research aims to understand the existing value chains of smoked manyung fish, the added value of each contributor on value chains, and to determine the most effective distribution channels of smoked manyung fish. The method used for data processing is descriptive-analytic SCM, Value Chain, and Value Added method. The result of this research, based on value-added calculation analysis using the Hayami method, shows fresh fish wholesalers give the least added value to the product or have the least amount of activities, so decreasing the unproductive activity to lower production cost is recommended. Value chain analysis shows that distribution channels or the most effective selling method of smoked fish are direct selling to the final consumer, accompanied by developing vacuum packaging to increase consumers’ interest in the product.

Abstract

Seawater is one of the largest natural resources and abundant in Indonesia, which contains salt, metals and mycobacteria. Even though the amount is abundant, its utilization is still not widespread, such as to be used as clean water or drinking water. The use of adsorbents aims to adsorb impurities in the fluid. The adsorption column that is widely used is in the form of a fixed-bed column with messy stacked filling. This makes it difficult to clean and fill the adsorbent, besides the irregular pile of adsorbents will hinder the flow process of the purified fluid. The research product is a circulating portable adsorption column design consisting of 3 parts, namely: top distributor, packing bed, and bottom collector. The principle of the three parts is like a puzzle where the number of packing beds can be adjusted according to the purification needs. The three parts are connected with threads so that they can be disassembled as desired. It is hoped that this product can meet the needs of adsorption-based purification that is easy, inexpensive, and can be customized according to various types of adsorbents. The design of this product can be duplicated for other adsorption purification processes, such as purification of bioethanol, wastewater, and biodiesel.

Abstract

This study implements the image litophane processing method to convert 2D images into 3D designs using image luminosity grayscaling techniques, so that the design process as input data for CNC router machining operations can be carried out quickly to support rapid prototyping technology. Furthermore, this research will process the 3D design into a 3D engraving object with a relief cutting process using a G-Weike WK1212 CNC router machine. Using the image luminosity grascaling technique, the color composition value is obtained to change the grayscale color image by 33% red, 59% green and 11% blue with a luminosity value of 35% or 89 from the range of luminosity grayscale levels 0 - 255. These results are further increased by 50% to 172 or 67% of the range of grayscale luminosity levels L[0, 255] so that it will be at the ideal luminosity value for the relief cutting process. Using a luminosity value of 172 from a grayscale image, the actual depth value is 1.82mm from a total depth of 3mm, which of course the relief pattern will look good.

Abstract

Bone fracture caused by various incident causes medical problems. Then bone restoration is required. Bone grafts can be used to solve this problem. One of the materials that can be used to produce bone graft is PMMA. PMMA requires to be combined with other materials to extend the solidification time. The material that can be used for bone graft material is sago starch. The main ingredient composition of Biocomposite [sago/PMMA] consists of sago: PMMA = 1 : 1 (w/w). The composition of the addition of MMA is 10% (v/w) of PMMA, this is to extend the curing time. Thus the material can be through from the chamber extruder to the nozzle. This research aims to obtain  combinations of 3D Printer FDM Customized machine parameters for minimizing of error dimension. The 3D Printer machine uses pneumatic system to push the material from the container to the chamber and used screw extruder to push the material out through the nozzle. The experimental design method used a 2k fractional factorial design, with 3 parameters, 2 levels and 3 responses. The experimental results obtained that the layer height parameter has a significant influence on the x-dimensional error. The optimization results obtained a combination of parameters to get the smallest error dimensions, the print speed is 25 mm/s, the layer height is 2.93 mm and the fill density is 20%. The results of optimization obtained that the x-dimensional error is 0.016, the y-dimensional error is 0.069 and the z-dimensional error is 0.4539.

Abstract

The effort to preserve batik is to maintain the continuity of batik production. Coloring process is one of the important processes in batik production. In addition to the dyeing technique, there is a “colet” technique in batik coloring process. Colet technique is considered an efficient technique in saving coloring dyes. The colet process is still carried out without standards and does not consider ergonomic aspects. This study aims to analyze the risk level of batik workers posture in colet technique coloring process. This research is an observational study with data analysis using the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) and Nordic Body Map (NBM). Based on the measurement, the risk level with the initial work posture has a score 9 and 7, which means the posture needs immediate corrective action to prevent occupational diseases. The implementation of Ergonomic “Colet” workbench is a way to improve work posture so the risk could be decreased, with score 4 both in standing and sitting working position.
