Abstract

The basis of character education in Islamic education is derived from the word akhlaq in plural form of khuluq which according to language is interpreted character, behavior, behavior or character. Essentially, character in education is the spirit in the Islamic education. Islamic education and character in education create students with better characters and values. It is clear that Islamic education with detailed guidance will never leave the content of Al-Quran and Al-Sunnah that in line with the character in education, in example building the students with good moral. There are seven characters that should be had by students namely emphaty, conscience, self control, respect, kidness, tolerance, and justice. The success of Islamic education does not depend on one component only but also all of education components.

Abstract

This paper is part of the results of research, one of the objectives is to know the penetration of Islam on religious social, especially the field of education that occurred in the community Rokan Hulu. Due to this study of social science research, the method used is in accordance with the social science method guided by theoretical framework by using qualitative approach done in four stages of work namely (1) heuristics, (2) criticism, (3) interpretation, and ( 4) historiography. The research is descriptive form of research that gives a description or describes a complex reality so that the explanation and analysis and interpretations are met. The research location is Rokan Hulu Regency because predicted Riau Islamization comes from Barus adjacent to Rokan Hulu. The results prove that Barus became an important port after Melaka in the world of commerce. In addition to trade, they are traders also broadcast the religion of Islam and make emotional connection with the local community and marriage so that many tombs of Middle Eastern communities in Barus that can be witnessed today and has been studied also by scientists from various countries. The spread of Islam in Barus spread to the surrounding area like South Tapanuli known as “Serambi Mekah” of North Sumatra. By looking at the position of Rokan Hulu adjacent to South Tapanuli, it can be predicted that will be affected by the Islamization so that it will affect the religious social community of Rokan Hulu including education. The nickname of “Negeri Seribu Suluk” to Rokan Hulu is an indication that Rokan Hulu is a temple of Barus Islamization so that it affects the religious education that grows and develops in Rokan Hulu Malay society such as the number of houses of worship and “surau-surau suluk” which until now still become the icon of the area. The birth of the Sufis who developed the Naqsyabandiyah congregation in Rokan Hulu was an implementation of the religious life of the Malay Rokan Hulu people, in which they chose a special way of nicknaming to draw closer to Allah SWT.

Abstract

This study aimed to know the culture of students in using pirated books. The location of the study was conducted at State Islamic University of Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau), University of Riau, Universitas Islam Riau, and Lancang Kuning University in Pekanbaru City. Based on the analysis of student economic factors, it shows that the student culture in using pirated books was not because of economic factors. It was evidenced by most of the students with good economic conditions or in the middle to lower class. Based on students' understanding of Copyright, it indicated that students comprehend and understand about copyright. However, respondents considered the copy of the book for the benefit of education does not violate the copyright because to facilitate the science. Actually a photocopy of a book for the benefit of education to facilitate the demand for science is basically an act of copyright infringement because it includes actions to reproduce without permission and disseminate it. Student’s attitudes to regular ordinary photocopies/copies are familiar with copier/pirate books. Based on the habits (culture) of students in buying reference books where the purchase of photocopy reference books/pirates is already a student habit.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country which has pluralistic varieties. The varieties can be viewed from two perspectives namely horizontal perspective and vertical perspective. The horizontal perspective covers the varieties of religions, ethnics, local languages, cloth, food and culture. Meanwhile, the vertical perspectives are included as the varieties of level of education, economic, shelters, jobs and the varieties of social – cultural. The varieties of our nation leads us the take into account the importance of multicultural education as an anticipation to the negative social phenomena which possibly derives from the varieties of races and tribes, religions, and varieties of values which exist in the society. The multicultural education can be implemented through learning models substantially by admitting and honoring the cultural diversities.

Abstract

Islamization is a process in which someone is invited to apply Islamic teachings purely in all aspects of life such as religious ritual, economic, social and cultural, politics, law and governance. The existence of cemetery of Syekh Burhanuddin and all its historical story are evidences that Islam exists in Kuntu which also influence others region in Riau for its religion, culture, social, and so on. From the investigation, historically, in Riau, Syekh Burhanuddin – a famous Islamic Arabian preacher has come to Kuntu and developed Islam. The Islamic teachings delivered by Syekh Burhanuddin remains well in the society until today. He spread Islam and its teachings peacefully, like others preachers of Islam do generally. The way of Syekh Burhanuddin delivered the Islamic teachings and its contents influenced the culture and characters of people in Kuntu, Riau or Indonesian people in general.

Abstract

Looking at the various phenomena and human social status is not clear, especially in the state of Pakistan, the amount of depravity and nuances unsightly, and the vagueness of the law in the life of the application, push Abul A'la al-Maududi moved to reform legal education in Pakistan. Education reform law made Maududi can be seen in several steps: (1) master the Arabic language as a pre-condition for entering the legal academy; (2) study the Qur'an and hadith before beginning their education in the field of law; (3) The curriculum emphasizes the legal academy to three main subjects: the fundamentals of Islamic jurisprudence, the history of Islamic jurisprudence, and fiqh (neutral assessment on all the major schools of fiqh); and (4) together with the legal education curriculum reform, followed by upgrading the moral and character development of students.

Abstract

Orientalisme is a knowledge about easterners which is important to we know. Because beside positive values consisting in it also there are negative values. That negative values represent noxious poison in effort paralyse Islam with understanding able to be groggy of clan belief in God of muslimin to al-Qur'an, Rasul, apocalypse and others. Clan of orientalis in general consist of people of Nasrani and Jew having hand in glove with Christian missionary mission and also colonist. They investigate and collect science coming eastward with various target and motiv which they wish. Even among all orientalis in its importance study Arab language there is with aim to be negative that is for the destroy of association of Islam, but there is also with aim to be positive that is devoted x'self solely for science by bearing its masterpieces in Arab language area and its literature. A lot of easting books written by clan of orientalis particularly about Islam concerning with problem of Alqur'an, Al-Hadist, Tarekh and Culture of Islam, Islam law and others. To investigate science above, Arab language is as especial bridge for them. The language of Arab which in advance they study to disclose the sciences to Europe language like Latin language, English, French, Germany , Dutch and others. Their ability study Arab language, making they ready to translate into their language and also write books in Arab language.

Abstract

Imam Fakhr al-Din al-Razi is a powerful cleric who widely mastered various branches of science, is also avery prolific scholar. He was preoccupied with alifetime of scientific activities, many essays he wrote, show the breadth of knowledge that he had. One of his works in the field of ushul al-fiqh is the book al-Mahshul fi 'Ilm Ushul al-Fiqh. The book is used as the main reference for Muslims in studying the science of ushul al-fiqh. The book has agreat contribution in the dynamics of the development of Islamic law. His ideas about the istidlal methods in the book of al-Mahshul which indicated him as an expert on ushul (ushuliyyun) are authoritative. Although he has been declared as aclass adherents Mutakallimun (Syafi'iyah flow) in the science of ushul al-fiqh, there are some ushul ideas he actually differed with Imam Shafi'i. He also tried to give a brilliant arguments against the concept of Syafi'iyah flow ushul fiqh which has none of the bigotry.

Abstract

Teachers play a leading role and occupy a very crucial position in the world of education, especially education organized formally in both schools and madrasah. Therefore, the constitutional existence of teachers has been regulated in Law no. 14 of 2005 on teachers and lecturers. The law requires a number of teacher competencies as professional educators. Although formally the teacher is regarded as a professional educator, but in practice in the field various types and behavioral models presented by the teacher in realizing the duties and responsibilities of his profession as a teacher is mainly reflected in the learning activities in the classroom. There are behavioral behavior of teachers who are stagnant even tend to decline and there is also the behavior of teachers who experience improvement and progress. The latter is what is referred to as progressive professional behavior.

Abstract

This paper wants to explain about the acceleration of the development of Islamic science viewed from a philosophical perspective. At least this discussion reveals its development from a socio-historical point of view and its acceleration process. The development of Islamic sciences and the process of acceleration of scholarship in Islam will never stop, because the scientific process itself will develop based on phenomena and various phenomena of world life that still show signs of life. The development of Islamic sciences is essentially a blend of revelation and intellectual thought, where through brilliant thought and courage to interpret the signs given by Allah, human beings are able to formulate various experiences to make and accelerate the development of science.
