Abstract

Guidance and counseling is an integral part of theeducation that have objects of human behavior. Humanbehavior in the context of social interaction can never beseparated from the social environment that involves the variouscomponents. One such component is the culture. Students arehighly influenced by the culture of the parents, preschool, andschool vary greatly in terms of the extent to which the childrenare encouraged to develop long-term relationships with peersand teachers outside the family.Various elements in the areas of people's lives is the seeds thatcould enrich the culture to build a strong community, butinstead can weaken the strength of the nation with varioussquabbles and disputes. Abstract

Early development of counseling and psychotherapyis influenced by psychodynamic, respectively influencescognitive / behavioristik, and humanistic perspectives into theparadigm system of guidance and counseling. Paradigm shiftaimed at the effectiveness of guidance and counseling notprovide justification that the earlier theories are not well.Another important thing that must be understood by thecounselor are all theories of counseling and psychotherapy havecontributed in accordance with the concept and view of manwith the attributes of the Problem. Abstract

Everyday, we faced with many choices have to be chosen in order to reach our goals. This may not only for present time, but also our past which is leading to our recent conditions. Many of our choices are not leading to our real goals, because of some external determinants we could not control or ignored. Sometimes it causes disequilibrium toward our psychological condition, familiarly called actual-ideal self-discrepancy. This article would discus about that phenomena and an example research have been done as a similarcase of that term. Abstract

The growth of computer and internet technology has their implication toward guidance and counseling field. School Counselors as subjects those who directly affiliated with the impact must anticipate with knowledge and skills of using of computer and internet technology. Skills and knowledge masteries are extremely needed by school counselors so that they could employ technological base guidance and counseling services. The real fact occurs in schools indicate that many school counselors who are stutter about technology. Abstract

Ballying in school happened not without of couse, but happened because accumulation from problemss in process of educations which have taking place. We cannot adjudg to one of aspect as source cause . One of alternative of which can be gone through for anticipating the happening of ballying in school is with looking for source of root of problem, that is revising function and role of education in family, school, and public. Third this component have to be powered in an optimal fashion, especially area of family, where role of parents in giving" affection" or education of social-emotional which recently don't touch student. Writing is an effective therapeutic tool which has been well documented and written therapeutic letters specifically has shown as a high positively effect tool. Abstract

The change and growth of society strive for the adjustment of Guidance and Counseling professionals toward the appropriate demands, expectations and needs of society. The improvement efforts of this profession have been done to pursue public trust. This close relationship with services efforts profession seemingly has its unique characteristics. Given help services constitute an essential professional obligatory for Guidance and Counseling professionals. In giving services, the profession ought to consider its counselee satisfaction as its customer. The customers encompass as internal customers (college students or teachers of Guidance and Counseling) and external customers (schools’ students, students’ parents and wide range of society). This dichotomy because of the customers would determine in enhancing profession toward the better directions. Customers’ satisfactory service concepts constitute a part of profession improvement besides of improvement in counseling profession standardization, ethic and its convinced direction. This concept is expected could complete counselors’ performance in giving services, moreover they will be able to be superiority mark compared with other professions. The concept of customers’ satisfaction needs to be started from educational institution. In implementing this management concept, educational institution needs to notice some points needed by internal and external customers dealt with giving Guidance and Counseling services. Institutions are expected to be able to know and understand customers’ needs. Abstract

Children sexual abuse becomes a national issue. All forms of children sexual abuse are highly affect children physically, mentally and view of themselves, other around of the children and also their performance in schools. Usually, schools are the first place to see the evidence of sexual abuse and school counselors are primarily responsible for giving treatment to abused children sexually. Consequently, school counselors must be aware of that symptoms, so, they can monitor the well-being of children. In addition, school counselors must learn the intervention strategies for helping students who suffered from sexual abuse to survive and overcome their experiences. Abstract

Guidance and counselling in Indonesia was a relatively young profession. As a new comer profession it has many missled and misconducted, one of them was misunderstanding about guidance and counselling rofession as a static profession. The consequence was the survices of guidance and counseling uncontextual, unfullfil the needs and hopes of society. The aim of this article enlighted the canging of guidance and counselling paradigm from the past, present, and future. On the past school counselling services driven counselling, consultation, and coordination. Now, guidance and counselling should be proactively survices that was leadership, advocacy, teaming and collaboration, assessment and use of data, and technology. On the future intentional and purposefull school counselling program was aligned and integrated with the educational interprise. Abstract

Group counseling is one kind of counseling service strategies. The difference concept of both group counseling and individual is that the group counseling emphasizes toward social interaction of the members. The group counseling discuses integrated approach which combines group dynamic interaction and counselors’ personal competencies. The goal of group counseling is to change the group behavior members based on that group interaction.
