Abstract

This study aims to determine the trend of elementary/MI science learning in the post-COVID- 19 pandemic era. The research used a survey design. Data collection methods included observation, interviews, and documentation. All instruments were tested for content validity and construct validity. Data triangulation was done by comparing and checking data obtained from information from parties who played a role in the research. After that, data analysis was carried out. Data analysis techniques used qualitative descriptive and quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. The study concluded that the post-COVID-19 SD/MI science learning trends lead to the following indicators including (1) the dominant learning method is lecture, (2) blackboards and markers are the dominant learning media, (3) student worksheets (LKS) are learning resources that are highly used by teachers, (4) assessment instruments used files/paper/written (5) oral tests are an assessment technique that is highly used by teachers, (6) cognitive assessment is the teachers' favorite in evaluations, (7) the realm of cognitive assessment in the majority is still oriented towards LOTS (Low Order Thinking Skills), namely understanding and remembering, and (8) aspects of discipline and responsibility are the main affective assessments that most teachers do. These findings imply that there is a need for more diverse and higher- order thinking skills (HOTS)-oriented teaching and assessment methods to enhance the overall quality of science education.

Abstract

The study aims to determine the improvement of social science learning outcomes about national events during the colonial period. This study used participatory action research methods conducted in three cycles. The stages were planning, implementing, observing, evaluating, and reflecting. The subjects were teachers and 23 fifth-grade students at an elementary school in the Kebumen district. The data collection methods were observation, interviews, and tests. Data analysis techniques used quantitative and descriptive qualitative analysis. The results indicate that implementing Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) applying multimedia improves student social science learning outcomes since it obtains 73.91% in the first cycle, 80.43% in the second cycle, and 86.96% in the third cycle. The students are active in group discussions and question and answer. It concludes that implementing Student Teams Achievement Divisions by applying multimedia improves social science learning outcomes about national events during the colonial period for fifth-grade students. This study is a diversification of learning strategies, so it can be an alternative solution to develop the quality of learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of group guidance based on cultural literacy "Ngapak" to improve character values in students at SD Negeri 2 Purbalingga Lor. This type of research is quantitative research with experimental methods. One group pretest-posttest research design. The population of this study was class VI students at SD Negeri 2 Purbalingga Lor classes VI A and VI B, totaling 50 students. The research sample consisted of 8 students who were categorized as low in student character scores. The sample was determined based on a purposive sampling technique with an instrument used on a Likert scale. Test the validation of this research using product moments and rehabilitation tests using Cronbach's Alpha. Research analysis used the Wilcoxon test with the help of SPSS 26 for Windows. The research results show a significant increase in students' character scores after participating in the cultural literacy-based group guidance program "Ngapak". This can be seen from the results of the experimental class pretest. From the pretest results, a score of 438 was obtained with an average score of 54.75. After being given service, students experienced an increase in their score on the Posttest by 770 with an average of 96.25. The results of the Wilcoxon test using SPSS 26 showed that the Z count in the experimental class was -2.527 and the significance level was 0.05. is 0.012<0.05, then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that there is a significant difference between the students' character scores after being given the "Ngapak" cultural literacy-based group guidance service model. Thus it can be concluded that the "Ngapak" cultural literacy-based group guidance service model is effective to increase the character scores of students at SD Negeri 2 Purbalingga Lor. This is proven by seeing the Posttest scores which have increased

Abstract

This study aims to identify and produce valid information about character education development programs in elementary schools, along with character identification developed from the Gangster Si Cantik program. This is a follow-up on overcoming character education problems that occurred in schools after the pandemic. This is important for conducting this research comprehensively to develop the character of elementary school students. This research used qualitative research with the type of case study to school programs at Dr. Sutomo 5 Surabaya Elementary School, East Java, Indonesia. The study was conducted by collecting data and information through purposive sampling, from 7 respondents consisting of the principal, teachers, and 5 students. The results of the research include the background of the formation of Gangster Si Cantik and character development strategies by Gangster Si Cantik. Based on student and teacher interviews there are good changes in the attitude of friends for the better despite it requiring some time and process. The characters developed through Gangster Si Cantik include caring, cooperation, fairness, honesty, discipline, and peace-loving. The constraints of this program are the limited time when traveling around and the limited number of aspiration boxes. This program is a form of collaboration between principals, teachers, and students in solving character education problems in elementary schools to create a safe and peaceful school environment. Collaboration is essential for future research in every aspect. It is intended that the findings of this study will enhance the practice of character development in elementary schools through scientific references.

Abstract

The results of the initial study conducted at Sidoharjo 1 Elementary School found problems that caused the low science literacy of grade VI students. These problems include inappropriate teaching materials, less contextualized science learning, inadequate science learning media, and a lack of motivation for students to learn science. The purpose of this research is to develop a Science Digital Library that can improve science literacy. The method used in this research is the research and development of the ADDIE model with the stages of Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. The research subjects were 21 sixth-grade students of Sidoharjo 1 Elementary School. Data collection techniques are media and material expert validation, student response questionnaires, and tests. The results of the study were that media experts and material experts validated the Science Digital Library. The results of the media validation were 88% with very valid qualifications, while the material validation was 92% with very valid qualifications. Science literacy assessment instruments measure science literacy skills. The improvement was calculated by the normalized gain formula (g) with the result of 0.71. The result of this study is that the Science Digital Library is proven to be feasible and valid for use and can improve science literacy in grade VI students of Sidoharjo I Elementary School.
