Abstract

This research was carried out in Yosomulyo village Metro Pusat Districk, Metro City. Objective of this reasearch was: (1) To know the different of red chili (Capsicum annum, L.) production beetwen using burn husk compost media plant and burn husk manure media plant. (2) To  know the highest red chili (Capsicum annum, L) production beetwen using burn husk compost media plant and burn husk manure media plant. The methode for this research wed experiment methode. With two treatments, for each treatment have 16 samples red chili plant. The data take with weighing the crop, and analyzing wed normalitas and homogenitas, so was gotten the result of the research as wellfor two level equation test got thit 23,68 > tdaf 2,04 at obvious level α = 0,05, with the result thit > tdaf, refuse H0 and the meaning  that any obvious difference of red chili production between use burn husk compost media plant and use burn husk manure media plant. For the two level difference test got thit 23,68 > 1,70 at obvious level α = 0,05 with the result thit > tdaf, refuse H0 and the meaning to the average red chili production with the burn husk compost media plant higher than production with the burn husk manure media plant. For education world, this research used the source for study biology subject about growth and development material.   Kata kunci:  media sekam bakar kompos, sekam bakar pupuk kandang, produksi cabai.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the influence of biology teaching through inquiry integrated with cooperative towards the critical thinking ability. This research addresses the role of inquiry and cooperative learning strategy as well as these interactions towards the increase of the critical thinking ability. Quasi experimental research of Pretest-postest nonequivalent control group design with factorial design 2x2x2 were implemented on the odd semester in academic years of 2006/2007  on X grade student of the state SMA in Metro City Lampung. The  research sample consists of 96 students, comprising of student from high and low academic abilities. To examine hypothesis, it is used Ancova technique and continued by LSD test. There was a difference on the critical thinking ability  between students who learn by inquiry level 1 with student who learn by inquiry level 2, between students, who have high academic ability and students who have low academic ability, and there was not difference on the critical thinking ability  between students who learn by STAD cooperative  with student who learn by TPS. There is no effect of interaction between inquiry with cooperative, inquiry with student’s academic ability, cooperative with student’s academic ability, inquiry with cooperative and student’s academic ability towards the cognitive achievement Kata kunci: cooperative learning, inquiry, berpikir kritis

Abstract

The purposes of this research were (1) to improve students’ learning activity by using inquiry method with biology comics for the students of VII A MTs Negeri Metro (2) to improve students’ achievement in learning biology by using inquiry method with biology comics for the students of VII A MTs Negeri Metro. The results of this research were (1) learning through inquiry method which uses biology comics can improve students’ activity during the learning process. From the data of observation, the students achievements increase from cycle I to cycle II (from 46.6% to 55.28%), it means that the increasing is about 8.68% (2) learning through inquiry method which uses biology comics can improve students’ activity during the learning process, the students achievements increase from cycle II to cycle III (from 60% to 76.7%), it means that the increasing is about 16, 7%. Kata kunci: metode inkuiri, media komik biologi, aktivitas belajar, hasil belajar biologi

Abstract

This research was intended to 1) know how to increase the students’ activity of class X of SMA Teladan 1 Metro through contextual learning based on inquiry 2) know how master the concept about ecosystem of students class X of SMA Teladan 1 Metro through contextual learning based on inquiry 3) know whether there is increase of learning activity and mastery of ecosystem concept through contextual learning based on inquiry. To gain the objectives above, the research method used in this research was Classroom Action Research (PTK). The subject of the research were the students of class X of SMA Teladan 1 Metro. Based on the result of data analysis, it was found that 1) Contextual Learning can increase the student learning activity, which covers: a) listening to teacher explanation activity which was 5-10 % previously out of the whole class became 96%, b) proposing idea activity which was previously 1-5% out of all students became 94%, c) observation activity which was previously 15% out of all students became 85%, d) activity in following discussion which was 15% previously out of the whole students became 84%, e) activity in doing analysis and reporting the result was 10% previously became 96%. 2) Contextual learning can increase concept of ecosystem mastery by comparing pre-test and post test result in the end of the cycle 2. From the analysis, it was found that the Gain score was normalized became 0,793 or there was increase of concept mastery as high as 79.3% from the gain before the treatment compared to after the treatment, and 3) contextual learning can increase learning activity and concept of ecosystem mastery. Kata kunci: Contextual Teaching and Learning, Aktivitas Belajar, Penguasaan Konsep

Abstract

Development of the Biology Module that integrates Islamic values based on the problems in the Integrated Islamic High School Darul Hikmah Pasir Sakti, East Lampung, the teaching materials used are not in accordance with the school background and learning outcomes in the material of Biodiversity are low. Based on these problems, this study aims to produce a biological module that integrates Islamic values on the subject matter of Biodiversity and effectively increases the understanding and awareness of students in class X. The development of this module uses the Borg and Gall development model. Subjects of assessment are material experts, media experts, linguists, religious experts, education practitioners, and class X students. The instruments used are questionnaires and learning outcomes tests. The results of this study are a Biology module that integrates Islamic values on the subject matter of biodiversity for students of class X. Based on the results of the module quality assessment, the category is very good and effective in increasing students' awareness and understanding. So it can be concluded that the biology module developed is suitable to be used as an independent teaching material for class X students. Keywords: Awareness,  Integration Of Islamic Values, Module, Understanding
