Abstract

Pendidikan memiliki peranan sentral pada pembentukan dan pengembangan SDM. Sekolah Tinggi Penerbangan Indonesia sebagai lembaga pendidikan di bidang penerbangan berperan penting dalam menghasilkan SDM yang kompeten. Unit Pembina Taruna memiliki fungsi dan tugas pokok membentuk sikap dan perilaku Taruna sesuai dengan Lima Citra Manusia Perhubungan. Pembelajaran kelompok merupakan sebuah keniscayaan bagi Unit Pembina Taruna(UPT) agar bisa menyelesaikan tugas yang diharapkan yaitu terbentuknya lima citra manusia perhubungan pada karakter lulusan STPI. Penelitian ini menganalisis fenomena pembelajaran kelompok pada UPT yang kemudian dimodelkan dengan menggunakan metode System Dynamics. Faktor yang dimodelkan dalam proses pembelajaran kelompok adalah tingkat kenyamanan psikologis, aktivitas belajar, pencapaian target kinerja UPT dan pengaruhnya terhadap pencapaian target lima citra manusia perhubungan. Hasil simulasi adalah faktor yang mempengaruhi aktivitas pembelajaran kelompok adalah tingkat kenyamanan psikologis yang tumbuh secara positif. Pencapaian target lima citra manusia perhubungan bisa terlampaui ketika waktu dari penyelesaian tugas tidak agresif dan dukungan kepakaran pimpinan yang tinggi.Kata kunci : pembelajaran kelompok, pendidikan, system dynamics, unit pembina taruna.
Determination of Sea Boundaries from the Perspective of Regional Autonomy in Administrative Region of the Republic of Indonesia Eka Djunarsjah

Abstract

Although the Djuanda Declaration had proclaimed on December 13th 1957, it was not until the administration of the Republic of Indonesia constitutes that the boundaries of the state were established through the Act (UU) in 2000. Despite several legislations related to the sea boundary, namely: Law on Continental Shelf of Indonesia (1973), Law on Exclusive Economic Zone of Indonesia (1983), and Law on Indonesian Waters (1996). The Indonesian administration, for the first time in 1999, decreed a Law on the Regional Government, which states the existence of regional authority in managing the sea area as far as 12 nautical miles from the coastline of each region. This contribution examines the extent of the relationship between the determinations of the boundary of the territorial waters of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) based on the United Nations Convention of the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) in 1982 with the determination of the regional sea boundary that refers to the Law on Regional Government. The method of study is a correlation analysis between laws and regulations related to state and regional sea boundaries. The results of the study indicate that the determination of the state sea boundary using baseline points (base points) refers to the position of the low water line; while for the sea boundary area the reference used is the coastline at the highest tide position. Another thing that is revealed, the integrity of NKRI sovereignty will be difficult to be realized if the determination of the sea border area of NKRI based on Regional Autonomy is not realized.

Abstract

This study is aimed to investigate condolence strategies used by a group of Indonesians lecturers to obituaries announced in a WhatsApp group. The study seeks to answer kind of condolence strategies used by the members and the condolence sequences expressed by the members. Since data is gathered from a computer mediated communication, i.e. instant messaging, this study uses a netnopragmatic approach, an approach to studying the use of language in online communities, coined from netnography research method, an ethnographic research done in online communities. The study shows that the members mostly recite Quranic verses and pray for God's mercy and forgiveness for the deceased in expressing their condolences. The result is due to the faith that most members have, i.e. Islam, which teaches them to pray when they first hear bad news. It can be clearly seen that expressing condolences is influenced by the faith of the condolence giver; not the religion that the deceased held.

Abstract

This research is to evaluate the use of blended learning in English Language Education Program, University of Islam Indonesia. The aim of this research is to describe and evaluate the implementation of blended learning to enhance ICT competence of pre-service EFL teachers in developing instructional media. The research involved 125 pre-service English teachers in Learning, Media and Technology course. During the course, blended learning process was divided into offline meeting for theoretical discussion and media project consultation; and online meeting for material designing and practicum. The data, obtained from March 2018 to  April 2018, present several information; a) the analysis of students' achievements; b) the analysis of students' media project and c) document analysis (lesson plan). All data were analyzed by using instructional design and multimedia rubrics in quantitative scales. The results show that most of the students are able to develop appropriate instructional media for English learning. However, some students need more instruction to enhance their understanding during online meeting. The implication of this research is it is challenging to use blended learning for project-based assignment so educators should design balanced activity between practicum and consultation to assist students in developing their project. Abstract

English is considered to be difficult due its different natures with Bahasa Indonesia both in pronouncing and writing. However, English textbooks are widely used in many program studies including in radiology. Therefore, many students have difficulties in understanding and comprehending the books due to their limited English ability especially related to English vocabularies and grammatical. This study aimed to acknowledge lexically and syntactically the linguistics features used in the textbook of Radiographic Positioning and Related Anatomy, which is a must-read book used during the study in the study program of Radiology. The method applied in this Corpus Linguistic study was a combination of quantitative method by using a concordancer called AntConc to analyze the radiology book quntitatively to get the word frequency list, and qualitative method in analyzing the quantitative data to describe the language features used in the textbook. The results of the quantitative and qualitative analyses show the most common vocabularies, word classes, and sentence patterns used in the text book that will be used to compose a pocket dictionary, which will help the radiography students to understand the radiological terms and comprehend many radiological sources autonomously and easily. Furthermore, through the dictionary, the students will not only be able to understand and comprehend many radiological texts but they will also be able to write texts and even discuss radiological topics in English autonomously. Results of the study show that AntConc has benefited the researchers since it has been able to assist the researchers in providing needed lexical and syntactical information of the textbook.  Bahasa Inggris dianggap sulit karena berbeda dengan bahasa Indonesia baik dalam pengucapan maupun penulisannya. Walaupun demikian, di Indonesia buku-buku teks berbahasa Inggris banyak digunakan di berbagai program studi termasuk di bidang radiologi. Oleh karena itu, banyak mahasiswa mendapatkan kesulitan untuk mengerti dan memahami buku-buku berbahasa Inggris tersebut karena keterbatasan pengetahuan Bahasa Inggris mereka terutama berkaitan dengan kosakata dan gramatika bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui fitur linguistik dalam bentuk kosakata dan gramatika yang digunakan dalam buku Radiographic Positioning and Related Anatomy. Buku ini merupakan buku yang wajib dipelajari mahasiswa di Program Studi Radiologi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode gabungan antara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak konkordansi AntConc data dianalisis secara kuantitaif untuk mendapatkan daftar kata berdasarkan kekerapannya. Selanjutnya, metode kualitatif diaplikasikan untuk menganalisis dan menjelaskan data yang dihasilkan. Analisis kuantitatif dan kualitatif tersebut menghasilkan daftar kosakata, kelas kata, dan pola kalimat yang sering muncul dan akan digunakan untuk menyusun kamus mini buku tersebut. Keberadaan kamus ini diharapkan dapat membantu mahasiswa radiologi untuk memahami terminologi radiologi dan memahami banyak teks radiologi secara mandiri dengan mudah. Lebih lanjut lagi, mahasiswa tidak hanya mampu memahami banyak teks radiologi tetapi juga mampu memproduksi teks, bahkan berdiskusi tentang radigrafi dalam bahasa Inggris secara madiri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perangkat AntCont telah memberikan manfaat kepada peneliti karena perangkat ini telah mampu membantu peneliti untuk mempersiapkan informasi leksikal dan gramatikal bahasa Inggris yang terdapat pada buku radiologi di atas.

Abstract

The growing of technology has invited the traditional pedagogical method supporters to integrate technology in education. This paper investigates the student perceptions as digital natives on the application of flipped classroom model. The flipped classroom employs lecturing video as homework and group discussion as classroom activities. The participants in this study were 120 students aged 19-20 years old who were born as millennial generation and had the experience of the flipped classroom model. Using a descriptive qualitative, the issue was observed and investigated. To elicit the student perceptions, this study used an open-ended questionnaire to investigate these students' opinions and attitudes toward the implementation of the model and its advantages and disadvantages. As the result shows, that flipped classroom gives more benefits over the drawbacks. The implementation of flipped classroom has attractively motivated students to be engaged in the classroom activity. The students perceive that the flipped classroom model has positively transformed their attitude and behavior in learning and flipped into a new way of learning. They argue that the procedural steps in flipped classroom model such as video observation and discussion help them understand the materials better and to be an independent learner. To conclude, the implementation of flipped classroom model gains the students' positive views over the negative perceptions.

Abstract

The Information and Electronic Transaction laws (ITE Law) in Indonesia is still in the form of text and has not been effective in its dissemination, hence it is less attractive to the public, especially young Internet citizens. For this reason, there needs to be a medium as a learning tool to understand the ITE Law. This study aims to visualize the contents of the ITE Law into an interesting learning media. The development model used is Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC). The subjects of this study were students of Ganesha University of Education who were interested in studying the ITE Law. From the experts' point of view, the content of this study is deemed valid, the media practical; the normality test obtained N-Gain value of 0.71, which is a high category. This study tested 20 respondents, resulting in 40% or very high responses and 60% high responses. These results indicate that the content visualization of the ITE Law is valid, practical and effective for learning. This application is expected to be able to increase the understanding of Undiksha students of the IET Law so that they can behave wisely and smartly on social media.

Abstract

Science and Technology Park (STP) development is one of science and technology policy implementations that aims to encourage national competitiveness. In the National Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2015-2019, the Indonesian government has declared the establishment of 100 STPs in 2019. However, in reality, only 22 STPs that have the greatest chance of being completed, even though those STPs have not reached the targeted conditions like STPs in developed countries that successfully increased the economy. This study aims to answer how STP can habituate the culture of science and technology in the community in Indonesia and reveal STP development phenomena in the regional context in Indonesia and other countries. This study found that the various challenges in developing STP will continue to hamper Indonesia if still use triple helix approach, and encourage quadruple helix approach that is able to habituate community for science and technology culture so that its existence and function can be suitable with Indonesian society ecosystem.keywords: STP, Habituation of  Science and Technology, Quadruple Helix.
