Abstract

Penelitian yang berjudul “Optimalisasi Pembelajaran dengan E-Book dan Media Pembelajaran Berbasis Multimedia untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas X SMA pada Materi Dunia Tumbuhan” telah dilakukan pada tanggal 23 April sampai dengan 13 Mei 2013 di MAN Model Banda Aceh. Penelitian ini bertujuan membuat dan mengembangkan E-Book sebagai media pembelajaran elektronik berbasis web, mengimplementasikan E-Book dunia tumbuhan E-Book sebagai sumber belajar dan melihat pengaruh E-Book serta media pembelajaran berbasis multimedia untuk mengoptimalkan hasil belajar siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen dengan desain penelitian Pretest-posttes Control Group Design. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes objektif berupa tes pilihan ganda. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan memberikan pretes, postes, dan pemberian angket. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan mencari N-Gain dan membandingkan N-Gain kelas experimen dengan N-Gain kelas kontrol. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji-t independen sample t-tes. Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan bahwa nilai t-hitung untuk kelas experimen adalah 3,53, maka t-hitung>dari t-tabel 1,645. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah adanya peningkatan. Hasil belajar siswa dengan menggunakan e-Book dan media pembelajaran berbasis multimedia, E-Book dapat diimplementasikan sebagai sumber belajar dunia tumbuhan, serta E-Book dapat dikembangkan sebagai bahan ajar dunia tumbuhan. Kata Kunci: E-Book, Media Pembelajaran Multimedia dan Hasil Belajar. A research entitled, "Optimizing Learning by Using E-Book and Multimedia-Based Instructional media to Improve Students’ outcome at Class X of Senior High School in The material of Plant World" has been carried out on April 23 until May 13, 2013 in MAN Model Banda Aceh. This study aimed at designing and developing E-Book as a web-based electronic learning media, implementing Plant World E-Book as one of sources of learning and see the impact of the E-Book and multimedia-based instructional media to optimize students’ learning outcomes. It was an experimental research with pre-test post-tes control group design. The data were collected by giving pre-test, post-test, and questionnaire. The instruments used in this study were an objective test in the form of multiple-choices and questionnaires. The data then processed by calculating and comparing the N-Gain of experimental class to the N-Gain of control class. They were analyzed by using independent sample t-test. Statistical analysis showed that the value of t-test for experimental class was 3.53, then the t-count > t-table was 1.645. It can be concluded that there were improvement of students’ learning outcome after using E-book and multimedia-based instructional media, E-Book can be implemented as one of sources of learning the plant world, also E-Book can be developed as one of teaching materials of plant world. Abstract

Hasil pengamatan di SMA Negeri 5 Banda Aceh, penggunaan strategi mengajar yang dilakukan sebagian guru masih mengedepankan peran guru. Belum secara keseluruhan dapat menjadikan pembelajaran menjadi aktif secara kooperatif. Untuk menjadikan pembelajaran menjadi aktif sebenarnya banyak strategi belajar yang dapat diterapkan oleh guru. Diantaranya adalah strategi belajar dengan peta konsep, menggarisbawahi, dan membuat catatan penting. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui: 1) Ketuntasan belajar siswa pada kompetensi dasar Protista dan Fungi dengan menggunakan strategi belajar (peta konsep, menggarisbawahi, dan catatan penting). 2) Akitivitas guru dan siswa selama kegiatan pembelajaran; 3) Respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran dengan menggunakan strategi belajar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas dengan 6 siklus. Sumber data penelitian adalah siswa kelas X-5 SMA Negeri 5 Banda Aceh berjumlah 30 siswa. Data diperoleh dengan melakukan pretes dan postes untuk setiap siklus. Data untuk mengetahui ketuntasan belajar dilakukan setelah semua siklus pembelajaran selesai. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan: 1) Ketuntasan belajar pada kompetensi dasar protista dan fungi mencapai 96,67%; 2) Aktifitas guru dan siswa selama proses pembelajaran sudah baik, dan pembelajaran sudah berpusat pada siswa. 3)Respon siswa terhadap penbelajaran menunjukkan hal yang sangat baik, dimana 90% siswa menyatakan senang terhadap strategi belajar yang digunakan guru. Kata Kunci: Peningkatan Pembelajaran, Protista dan Fungi dan Learning Strategy The result of observation done at SMAN 5 Banda Aceh showed that the teaching strategies used by some teachers was still teacher-centered. They were not implementing active and cooperative learning yet. Actually, to create an active atmosphere in the classroom, teachers can implement some learning strategies such as concept map, underlining, and note taking. This research is aiming at knowing: 1) the students’ passing grade in the basic competence of Protista and Fungi by using learning strategies (concept map, underlining, and note taking); 2) The activity of teacher and students in teaching learnig; 3) students’ response toward the implementation of learning strategy. This research is an action research done for 6 cycles. It used 30 students of class X-5 of SMAN 5 Banda Aceh as the sample. In every cycles, there was a pre-test and pot-test given to students. The passing grade was calculated at the end of the lesson. The data were then analyzed descriptively. The result showed that the students achieve 96,67% of passing grade in the basic competence of Protista and Fungi. The activity of teacher and students was in a good condition. The teaching was student-centered. The students responsed positively. There were 90% of students stated that they were happy to learn the concept by using the learning strategy. Abstract

This research is a descriptive study with the aim to analyze metacognitive skills and scientific attitudes of biology students on Genetic materials through inquiry learning models. This research was carried out in Universitas Gunung Leuser Aceh. The sample in this study is Biology students in semester VI totaled 24 students. Data on the ability of metacognitive skills were obtained by questionnaire while scientific attitude data were obtained by observation sheets. Data were analyzed with descriptive analysis techniques. The results is that the metacognitive skills of students is in the very good category (80,50%) while the students’ scientific attitude is in the good category (72,29%). The result shows that the inquiry learning models can improve biology students’ metacognitive abilities and scientific attitudes on Genetic materials.

Abstract

This study was designed to determine the effort of learning through constructivism-based module to overcome student’s misconceptions of Cell concept in SMAN 2 Sabang. The data collection was conducted in 2016, July to August. The method used in this research was quasi-experimental with one group pretest posttest design. The research was conducted in three classes, i.e. XI IA 1, 2 and 3 with 80 students in total. The instrument used was constructivism-based module and pretest-posttest diagnostic tests with CRI answer sheet to assess the comprehension levels of students. Data was analyzed using the percentage formula. Analysis for student’s comprehension showed 69.20% students understand the concept, 25.65% didn’t understand the concept and 5.15% of students experiencing misconceptions. It was concluded that learning through constructivism-based module was effective in order to overcome student’s misconceptions of cell concepts in SMAN 2 Sabang.

Abstract

This study aimed to figure out the effect of guided discovery model towards metacognitive awareness and cognitive learning outcomes of students in the concept of human reproductive system. This research was conducted at MAS Babun Najah Banda Aceh from April to May 2016. The method used was true experimental with pretest-posttest control group design. The population was all students of four classes namely MIA XI-1, XI MIA-2, XI MIA MIA-3 and XI-4, while the sample were students of two classes of MIA XI-1 and XI MIA MIA-3. The research instruments used were metacognitive awareness inventory sheets and item of cognitive test. The data were analyzed by using independent samples t-test with SPSS 17.0 for windows. The results showed that metacognitive awareness has tcount > t table (3.422> 2.0154), meanwhile, t-test for cognitive learning outcomes also showed tcount > t table (3.089> 2.0154). It can be concluded that guided discovery model affected the increasing of metacognitive awareness and cognitive learning outcomes of students in the human reproductive system concept at MAS Babun Najah Banda Aceh.

Abstract

Tahura Pocut Meurah Intan in Aceh Besar is a nature conservation area that has various tourist attractions to be developed for ecotourism. This requires community support which is an important factor in ecotourism development. The purpose of this study was to find out the community's carrying capacity in the development of Tahura Pocut Meurah Intan ecotourism through 3 parameters, which are acceptance for visitors, participation in ecotourism development and participation in conservation. The study used descriptive method, while data was collected from questionnaires to villagers around the Tahura Pocut Meurah Intan, which are the Suka Damai Village, the Suka Mulia Village, and the Aceh Saree Village. The results showed that the community's carrying capacity for ecotourism development in the Tahura Pocut Meurah Intan in the SukaDamai Village was classified as supportive (70%) while the other two villages, the SukaMulia Village and the Aceh Saree Village were classified as very supportive (76.6%). It can be concluded that the community's carrying capacity in the development of the Tahura Pocut Meurah Intan as ecotourism area is very supportive, in terms of visitors' acceptance, community participation in ecotourism development, and community participation in conservation effort.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the type of Lichens in the Gugop Pulo Breuh area, Pulo Aceh District, Aceh Besar. The subjects of this study are all types of Lichens found in the Gugop Pulo Breuh area, Pulo Aceh District, Aceh Besar. This research uses Random sampling technique with combination of line transect and quadratic method. Line transect measuring 100 m x 20 m as many as 3 stations with details of length 100 m and width 20 m. Square plot is determined systematically on each station with a size of 10 m x 10 m, as much as 3 plots to obtain 9 plot of squares. The results of the study found 2300 individu lichens samples covering 10 family of 15 species. Lichens found in the study sites consisted of two types of morphology of the talus namely Crustose and Foliose.

Abstract

This study entitled: "Comparison of Student Learning Outcomes in Circulatory System Concepts with using Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) and Think Pair Share (TPS) Models at SMP Negeri 2 Seunagan Nagan Raya". This study aims to figure out the differences in student learning outcomes in Circulatory System concept by using Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) and Think Pair Share (TPS) models at SMP N 2 Seunagan Nagan Raya. The data were collected by using Library Research and Field Research. The population of this study were all students of VIII class in SMP Negeri 2 Seunagan Nagan Raya (60 people). The samples were 17 students of class VIII.2 and 17 students of class VIII.3. The technique used in collecting the data was learning outcomes test. The data were analyzed by using t test (t-count). The result showed that t-count was greater than t-table (t-count = 3.059>t- table = 2.037). it can be concluded that Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) learning model is better than Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model in Circulatory Systems concept at SMP Negeri 2 Seunagan Nagan Raya, with the the average score in VIII.2 class (Two Stay Two Stray model) was 74.41 and the average score in VIII.3 class (Think Pair Share model) was 68.52.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui jenis-jenis jamur makroskopis yang terdapat di kawasan Taman Nasional Gunung Leuser Kecamatan Blangjerango Gayo Lues. Metode yang digunakan observasi dan jelajah yaitu melakukan pengamatan langsung ke lokasi penelitian. Luas daerah penelitian adalah 5 Ha yang dibagi menjadi 5 stasiun dan pada masing-masing stasiun dibuat 10 transek sehingga jumlah transek 50 dengan panjang 100 m, lebar kiri dan kanan 20 m. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian diperoleh 28 spesies jamur terdiri dari 18 genus yaitu Ganoderma, Grifola, Hexagonia, Hirchioporus, Pycnoporus, Tremella, Auricularia, Collybia, Coriolus, Hypholoma, Pleurotus, Phylloporus, Marasmius , Clavaria, Clitocybe, Crepidotus, Rigidoporus, Tremidis, Coriolus, Lactarius, Mycena, Clitocybe, Clitocybula, Pluteus, Pleurotus. Anggota genus yang paling banyak ditemukan adalah genus ganoderma 3 spesies. Dari hasil tersebut, disimpulkan bahwa jamur makroskopis tersebut layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran biologi di sekolah. This research was conducted to investigate the species of wood macroscopic fungi in National Park of Gunung Leuser, Blangjerango Gayo Lues. The methods used were direct observation and survey. The area of research was 5 Ha, divided into 5 stations with 10 transect stations for each. So, the number of transects were 50 transect stations with the length of 100 m, the width of the left and right was 20 m. The data were analyzed by descriptive analysis. The result showed that there were 28 species from 18 genera, namely Ganoderma, Grifola, Hexagonia, Hirchioporus, Pycnoporus, Tremella, Auricularia, Collybia, Coriolus, Hypholoma, Pleurotus, Phylloporus, Marasmius, Clavaria, Clitocybe, Crepidotus, Rigidoporus, Tremidis, Coriolus, Lactarius, Mycena, Clitocybe, Clitocybula, Pluteus, Pleurotus. The most common genera found in the location was 3 species from Ganoderma. It can be concluded that the wood macroscopic fungi in National Park of Gunung Leuser, Blangjerango Gayo Lues is suitable to be used for media in learning biology at school. Abstract

A study had been carried out from May 2017 to February 2018 at Suaq Balimbing Research Center, Gunung Leuser National Park to determine the biology of termite nests of Nasutitermitinae subfamily. The termites were collected with Finding Colony method, while the identification of the termite types and data analysis was conducted in Zoology Laboratory, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Syiah Kuala University. The results found 3 types of termite nests, i.e., (1) arboreal mounds type (N. roboratus, N. matangensis, H. bicolor and N. neoparvus) as an attempt to disguise themselves and protect their colonies from predators; (2) wood nesting type (N. havilandi, N. proatripennis, H. hospitalis, B. neopusillus, L. leucops, and Aciculitermes sp.1) that is built using drywood to form ventilation space between nests, so the nests become sturdier; and (3) subterraneannest type (L. longipes) that has a stronger construction than arborealmounds and wood nesting since it is made of soil attached by saliva liquid. Shapes of termite nest found namely a rounded shape, a cone shape, a shape that fills in hollow trees, a shape that forms a mound on the ground, and rectangular shape. Some of the termites activities were searching for food outside the nest, consuming remaining food in the nest, and making an attack. The identification results showed that there were 18 termites species from 6 genera of Nasutitermitinae subfamily namely Nasutitermes, Hospitalitermes, Leucopitermes, Longipeditermes, Bulbitermes and Aciculitermes.
