Abstract

The limited of land and accesibility of the low income people in Palu city caused the growth of illegal informal settlements. Within its settlement development programs, the local government of Palu was applying a relocation policy. Relocation of the informal coast settlement for Besusu Barat and Talise district to Layana Indah in North Palu. After the relocation (pascarelokasi) some of dwellers behave the resisting, some of other hold out at settlement after the relocation. This condition showed the “place attachment”. Research to " place attachment"  the settlement after relocation conducted a qualitative, through phenomenologic approach with symbolic interaction model. In order to validate the research, the researcher used qualitative approach with causal method. Analitic narative and statistical description were used for analizing the data.The result of research indicate that the place attachment of settler after relocation enable the happening of 'dilution' and also ' reinforcement' binding to its dwelling. In the end will give the mental picture about the ideal dwelling. Attached of settler before relocation compared by related after relocation especially with the physical aspect of concerning settlements condition and the non physical specially pursuing of its settler economics mobility

Abstract

The discourse made along Jl. Sis Aljufri as the  religious area tourism is a program to encourage the development of tourism sector and preservation of Islamic culture in Palu. In the area Plan, certain events are planned at the Jl. Sis Aljufri done closure of vehicular traffic flow so that all vehicles will enter the religion area through  Jl. Sis Aljufri will be transferred to some streets in the surrounding. Traffic volume data obtained through a survey of traffic volume.The survey of traffic volume at peak morning and evening has been done working day in June 2012. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of service Jl. Mangga, Jl. Datu Pamusu, Jl. S. Sausu and Jl. S. Moutong both existing conditions and current conditions of the transfer of traffic flow on Jl. Sis Aljufri.Methods of traffic data collection is done manually by recording vehicles passing on a road during peak hours. Methods of data collection side friction done manually by recording the vehicle stops, the slower vehicles, the pedestrians, vehicles in and out of the side of the road. The results of this study found that the road gets traffic diverted due to the closure of Jl. Sis Aljufri increased degree of saturation, which means a change in level of service.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to get post network of hydrology efficient, effective and can deputize a catchment area so that earn minimization of is expense of required for the operation and conservancy. Data the used is monthly rainfall during 10 years start from year 1997 till 2006. Method which is used in data analysis that is method of Kagan. Pursuant to result of Method analysis of Kagan for the SWS of Lambunu-Buol with amount of existing rain post in this time amount to 13 posts with mistake of calculation according to result of analysis 2,814 % obtained by distance between post 45,199 km, amountly have answered the demand of but spreading of rain post not yet fulfilled what required by Kagan, so that require to be conducted by post reposition. Existing posts will be reposition are Station of Tada, Kayu Agung, Ongka, Lalos and Air Terang

Abstract

Wood use in civil buildings has shown increasing demand whether for structural or non structural means. The demand itself can not be fulfilled because on the lack of lumber woods in large diameter. On the other hand, bamboo has not been optimally exploted althougth research results have shown that bamboo has strength and better performance compared to other building materials. This research was aimed to reveal the physical and mechanical properties of bamboo Petung. Preliminary research was made the physical and mechanical properties specimens bamboo Petung, which following the ISO 3129-197 standard test method. The result experiment showed that bamboo modulus of elasticity (MOE) obtained was 13257.65 MPa, therefore could be classified as strength class E13. The result of mechanical way test showed that modulus of rapture(MOR), the tensile strength, compression strength parallel, compression strength upright, the shear strength were 29 MPa, 27 MPa, 33 MPa, 11 MPa and 5 MPa

Abstract

Polypropylene fiber is the fiber type of plastic (polypropylene) which is a special production with high technology. It is a chemical compound with the formula C3H6 hydrocarbons in the form of a single filamentor thin fibrous tissue shaped nets with a length of 6 mm to 50 mm and has a diameter of 8-90 microns. Thesefibers can be used to improve the performance of concrete.This research aims to determine how much influence the addition of polypropylene fibers on mechanicalproperties of concrete (compressive strength. split tensile strength and flexural strength). polypropylenefibers used doses of 0; 0.40 kg/m³, 0.60 kg/m³, 0.80 kg/m³ of concrete, which is made on the type of concretef'c 20 MPa with the value of water cement factor (FAS) at 0.53. Calculation of mixed concrete plans usingguidelines DOE (Department of Environment). The research location at Concrete and Building MaterialsLaboratory of the Faculty of Engineering, University Tadulako Palu. Specimens made as many as 72 piecesof 60 cylinders (D15 x 30 cm ³) and a beam of 12 pieces (15 x 15 x 60 cm ³). Specimen testing performed at28 days.Test results obtained fiber concrete compressive strength, split tensile strength and flexural strength, higherthan normal concrete. Compressive strength testing of optimum values obtained at doses 0.60 kg/m³. with anincrease of 3.62% compared to normal concrete. From testing split tensile strength and flexural strengthoptimum values obtained of each at doses of 0.65 kg/m³ and 0.58 kg/m³. For the split tensile strengthincreased 20.44% and flexural strength increased 11.26% compared to normal concrete. Keywords: polypropylene fibers. mechanical properties of concrete.

Abstract

The growth of vehicle every year give impact to traffic intersection performance. The impact of trrafic such as vehicle queueing , traffic jam , rise in delay time and also increase travel time could be caused by traffic control system no effective because the increasing by traffic volumeThis research is conducted in one of Major Street in Palu, namely at Samratulangi – Sudirman Street street is the intersection between Hj. Hayyun – Cik Ditiro Street.In this research, the analyzed by using Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia ( MKJI).From result of analysis by using MKJI , got intersection performance at condition of morning peak reside at service of level C with queue length is equal to 38,73, in the peak day has level of service F with queue length is equal to 65,04 m and afternoon peak with level of service E where the queueing length is 70,07 m. According to value of level of service on the this intersection had shown that traffic control system 2 (two) stage was not effective again

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to understand the effect of heat treatment before and after tempering on hardness with temperature variation of HSS steel. Heat treatment with temperature 500- 850 oC on specimens were tested and quenched on the water. Another specimen was tempered with 100, 250, 400, 500, 600 and 700 oC temperatures with air quenching. Hardness testing of these specimens has been done with Vickers and Rockwell method. Results show that heat treatment process with water quenching increases hardness and specimens tend to decrease their hardness with increasing temperature

Abstract

Water supply system provided by Perusahaan Daerah Air Minum (PDAM) plays an important role in fulfilling local citizen’s needs, both upper-middle and low classes of the society. Basically, water supply system involves three stakeholders: the users (the customers), the management (the company), and local government as a regulator. As a user, customer’s main concerns is the fulfillment of his/her needs with affordable price, whilst PDAM as the management aims to gain profit. In the other hand, local government aims to keep the balance between supply and demand while seeking growth in its income.Currently, water supply service in Palu is only accessible for those from upper-middle class whilst the poor cannot access the service due to its high tariff. The issue of the need of equal access to the standardized water supply system, that at the same time is affordable for every citizen, consequently has emerged. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a study using Ability To Pay (ATP) and Willingness To Pay (WTP) approaches, taking into account the society’s real expenses and water supply system’s existing tariff. In subsequent, the subsidy for low-class society can be calculated.The population of this research consist of 408 households, spread into four districts. The primary data was collected by administering questionnaire using simple random sampling. Interviews were also conducted in order to gain more insight into the data. Secondary data was collected from PDAM Donggala and some other institutions. The data was analyzed using two techniques; first, ATP technique with household’s expenses approach; and second, WTP technique by taking user’s (customer) perception into consideration. The results showed that 75% of those who allocating 5% of their income to pay the PDAM’s bills had the ability to pay more than the tariff, whilst only 40% of those who allocating 3% of their income had the ability to pay more than the tariff. It is also appeared that none of the respondents were willing to pay more than the tariff (which is Rp.1450/m3). Further analysis showed that 47,3% of PDAM’s customers were able to subsidize to the poor, as their ability to pay (ATP) were mosre than Rp. 1500/m3

Abstract

Wanga village, according to geoelectric measurements, has groundwater at depths of > 34 meters such thatit was detected below the surface, and rainfall of 3165 mm/year. This condition makes the groundwaterrecharge area is so big, and will be very potential. But in fact during the dry season, the surface water is notsufficient. The purpose of this research is to assist residents in the village Wanga in providing clean waterusing the application of the method "infiltration ditch". Therefore the lack of clean water can be resolved.The research method used is a research and development where the outcomes are to produce a specificproduct and test the effectiveness of these products. The research shows that the method of infiltration ditchin the provision of clean water in villages Wanga can be applied well in the field according to siteconditions, and will be able to overcome the shortage of clean water. Methods "infiltration ditch" can beapplied in other village locations in the North Lore District area because it has the same ground waterconditions
