Abstract

ABSTRACT Wattpad is a social media including social media category with the main characteristics of the social networking site is user-generated-content. New media give rise to participatory culture, whichis participatory culture is an example of fan culture or fandom, where fans not only consume but also produce and distribute. Like fans who are author Chanbaekshipper, which is OTP fandom with slash pairing using Wattpad to process media content fandom (fanfiction). This research aims to identify and explain the motivation author Chanbaekshipper in using Wattpad. The method used is descriptive method which is a qualitative research. The results from this study is that there are couple of motivation author chanbaekshipper in using Wattpad, interpersonal utility, passtime, information seeking, convenience and entertainment. Author chanbaekshipper not only act as producers who produces fanfiction but they also consumers who consume and a disributor who distributes the fanfiction that they created Wattpad. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aimed at determining the perception of journalists in Bali on the news value of citizen journalism seen from the performance of citizen journalism in disseminating information or news. This research used descriptive quantitative method. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The results showed that the average perception of journalists in Bali on the news value of citizen journalism with the overall score of the indicator of news value in terms of providing news or information was 3.58. The average meaning was a good or positive category. It meant that citizen journalism was considered a phenomenon as well as a forum for people's aspirations. Citizen Journalism was considered capable of playing a role in helping mainstream media journalists in spreading any information or news. Keywords: Citizen Journalism, News Value, Perception.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The growth of population and the lack of awareness of the public to keep the environment have a direct impact on increasing the volume of garbage and sewage in the city of Denpasar. Production of garbage in the city of Denpasar has increased each year, from 2016 the volume of a garbage reached 850 tons in day and 900 tons in 2017. Malu Dong Community moved to eradicate such phenomena and do a communication strategy. This research aims to provide an overview and explanation of the related communication strategy undertaken by the MDC in educating the public to care about the cleanliness of the environment. The object of this research is Malu Dong Community. type of this research is a descriptive qualitative data collection techniques form of interviews, observation, and document Studies. The results of this research are as follows, MDC are educating their audience by collecting litters in the middle of crowds and targeting each of their audience with different approach, and also they are utilizing outdoor media, for example, flags in order to properly deliver a message to their target audiences. Abstract

ABSTRACT Indonesia is one of many countries in the world that deny any sexual preference other than heterosexual because gay and bisexsual are considered wrong in term of religion and norm. From research that have been done by PEW Research Center in 2007 said that only 3% of the respondence from Indonesia support gay couple and the other 97% said didnt. This thing makes gay people choose the way of closeted community and extremely hard to surface. This thing also make gay people are deciding to stay away from their family and friends. This research focused on the self disclosure on gay in Bali Province. This research using qualitative method and social penetration. The object is gay that already open to their family. The result is most of the gay people are usualy cover them selves because they are aware that other people can not accept them by who they are. ABSTRACT Hotman Paris Show is a talk show program that is aired on iNews TV and also had a large audience on YouTube. This study aimed to find out what theRmotive and how the satisfactionRof teenager in the city ofFDenpasar in watching Hotman Paris Show. This research used the theory ofEUses and Gratifications and usedDdescriptive quantitative method. SamplingFtechnique in this research wasSpurposive sampling. Data wereFobtained by distributing questionnairesFusing Likert scale. TheAanalytical technique usedd is descriptive statistics by looking at the mmean score of motives and ssatisfaction. The results showedDthat there are one motives that can be ssatisfied in watching tthe Hotman Paris Show that is the motif of information. Motives that can not be satisfied in watching the Hotman Paris Show is the motive of personal identity ,integrity and social interaction and the motiveFof entertainment. Abstract

ABSTRACT Wattpad is an online platform that provides varieties of prose essays, such as novels. The presence of Wattpad makes it easy for novel connoisseurs to be able to read novels in digital form. This research aims to find out the motives and the satisfaction of youth in Denpasar City in reading novels on Wattpad. In this study combining motives put forward by Dennis McQuail and Zizi Papacharissi and Alan M. Rubin. The theory used is The Theory Uses and Gratifications. This research is descriptive quantitative method with purposive sampling as the technique. Data obtained by using Likert scale in questionnaire. The result shows five of the seven motives that could be satisfied are entertainment motive, convenience motive, pass time motive, information motive and utility motive. Motives that have not been able to be satisfied are personal identity motive and integration and social interaction motive. Keywords: Denpasar, Motives, Satisfaction, Wattpad, Youth

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research titled Gerakan “Feminism Hura-Hura" Mari Jeung Rebut Kembali di Video Musik Tika and The Dissident (Studi Semiotika). In 2016 Tika and The Dissidents released a single called “Tubuhku Otoritasku" and Mari Jeung Rebut Kembali with collaborators making the music video that shows the freedom expression and had a big role in perceiving and influencing audience towards the mindset of women in society. The purpose of this research is to know how the movement of feminism in “Tubuhku Otoritasku” music videos. The type of this research is qualitative research with a constructivist paradigm and using approach analysis of Charles Sanders Peirce’s semiotic. The data source used in this research consists of primary data form the scene, background, or lyrics and secondary sources are from the articles, websites, and publications. Abstract

ABSTRACT Advertisement has a major role in supporting the marketing success of a product and service. In the case of binding to the public's attractiveness, the female figure is often used as a symbol to display the visual form of the audience. The image of women formed generally is a combination of sex objects, mothers or wives. But now with the times, advertisement has also undergone a change, as is the Kecap ABC “Perasan Pertama Lebih Kaya Rasa”. Through qualitative research using Roland Barthes's semiotic analysis method, the results show that the construction of the image of women in Kecap ABC “Perasan Pertama Lebih Kaya Rasa” is the image of the Pinggan, the image of the Pillar and the image of the Pigura. Abstract

ABSTRACT The development of uncontrolled mass media leads to information lying or hoax. There are a total of 800 thousand hoax spreading sites in Indonesia that were revealed in the year 2017. Hoax cause dangers that can cause panic in the public. Facebook becomes an informational channel that contains the highest hoax content in the new media. The high phenomenon of this hoax caused the curiosity of researchers to measure the attitude of the people of Denpasar to Hoax on Facebook. According to Azwar, attitudes can be measured by distinguishing three components, namely cognitive, affective, and conative. This research uses a descriptive quantitative method. Technical sampling is stratified proportional. The analytical techniques used are statistic descriptive. Results showed that on the cognitive components, the community of Denpasar has excellent in addressing hoax on Facebook. However, it has enough affective of curiosity and is quite a contemplative in addressing Hoax on Facebook. Keywords: Attitude, Denpasar, Facebook, Hoax

Abstract

aABSTRACTt Thisi study aimed to find,i out what are the motives and satisfaction of youth ini Denpasar in using Rinstagram and Finstagram. Denpasar city was chosen because it was recorded as the city of the most internet users in the Province lof, Bali.The media consumption motives used in this study is the motive put forward by Papacharissi and Rubin using the Uses, and Gratifications, Theory. This research, used descriptive quantitative method with the sampling technique is purposive sampling which is analyzed using descriptive statistics by looking at the average score of motives and satisfaction.The results showed that there were three motives that can be satisfied in using Rinstagram that is the motif of filling leisure time, seeking information, comfort motive. Then there, are four motives, that, can be satisfied in using Finstagram, that is, the usability, information seeking, comfort, entertainment motive.
