Abstract

ABSTRACT Film becomes an aesthetics work of art as well as an information tool that sometimes can be a means of entertainment, tool of propaganda and even political tool. Film may create different perception according to the message in it. Corruption is one of topics which often discussed in many media, such as print media, electronic media, even film. Theeobjectiveeoffthissstudyiisstoeexplainttheemeaningoofccorruption in film entitled Negeri Tanpa Telinga. Data were collected from video, images, and dialogues in the film and were analyzed by Charles Sanders Pierce’s semiotics textual analysis. This studyyfounddthattthe characteristics of corruption inttheefilm inntheeform of bribery, embezzlement, smuggling, giving (gifts or grants), manipulation of the authority, related to occupation of someone or the profession, neatly and structured. Then, the influence and role of women becomes very important in the continuity of corruption such as reward for corrupt and become the good member on the group in preparing a strategy of corruption than men. Furthermore, this film depicted a new image about women’s role in corruption, especially in Indonesia. Abstract

Gender inequality is manifested in various forms, such as stereotyping or negative labelling. Stereotypes of women who are weak, emotional, identical to domestic sphere are considered normal and natural. This is constructed by the mass media, so it can affect the way the public view of women’s image. A collection of short stories “BH” by Emha Ainun Nadjib is one of the fiction books featuring women as the main subject. Of the twenty-three short stories that were published, there are two short stories that feature women who experience gender injustice, in between the short story titled Lelaki Ke-1000 di Ranjangku and Mimpi Istriku. The purpose of this research is to explain the representation of women in the collection of short stories “BH” by Emha Ainun Nadjib. This research used qualitative approach with critical discourse analysis method of Sara Mills. The results of this research are women represented in the position of second class and sexual objects in a short story titled Lelaki Ke-1000 di Ranjangku. Women are also represented easily emotional, irrational thinking, identical to domestic sphere, and positioned inferior in a short story titled Mimpi Istriku. Abstract

Communication is an essential thing in every situation and condition. A good communication is also needed in prostitution business. Bali is one of the most tourist destination in the world, that makes Bali’s economical growth is good enough. In another words many places in Bali is also become a place for prostitution practice. One of them is in Bung Tomo area, Desa Pemecutan Kaja, Denpasar Utara. A prostitution practice was held in Banjar Kusuma Jati, Bung Tomo the prostitution place would be camouflage as a coffee shop, or a food stall, and that’s all is different with another prostitution places. Behind the sex transaction, there were some interesting things like the technical that was used by the prostitutes to hire the costumers, they used the verbal and also non-verbal codes. In one food stall there were some sellers who would receive some codes from the costumers. Another special thing from this prostitution practice was the communication pattern which was used by the prostitutes to get their costumer. They used some codes were aimed to make the lobbying and negotiation between the prostitutes and the costumer will be not vulgar. Key Words: Communication pattern, codes, prostitutes, prostitution.

Abstract

Become one of the recognized ethnic, even its position is listed in Pasal 2 UU Nomor 12 Tahun 2012 on the citizenship of the Indonesian Republic, do not make Chinese etnic get an equal treatment in the community. At least that is what Ernest Prakasa is trying to tell in the Ngenest film. In this film, Ernest as the director who also as the main character tries to describe how Chinese ethnic as a minority in the Indonesian society with all kinds of problems and impact that must be accepted. The purpose of this research is to find out the representation of Chinese ethnic in Indonesia in the film. Using qualitative descriptive approach as well as Roland Barthes semiotics analysis method. The result of this study indicate, there are particular treatments that must be accepted by Ernest because of his different cultural backgrounds and the labeling of ethnic Chinese from the community. Abstract

ABSTRACT A Brand is not only used in marketing a product, but a brand is also used as a personality marketing for a political figure. Through this research, researchers want to see how I Nyoman Suwirta's Personal Branding as a political figure in the Klungkung Regional Election in 2018. This research is a qualitative study using Harold Lasswell's analytical method and elaborated through eight personal branding concepts from Peter Montoya. The resulst of this research that I Nyoman Suwirta has personal branding that is what it is, populist, visionary and prioritizing the public interest, as well as actively communicating through social media, and face to face with the community. That way the Klungkung community also actively participates in each Gema Santi program. Key words: Personal Branding. Regional Head Election 2018, and Political Figure.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Election on 2014 was a battle between politicians. Almost every politicians campaigning for themselves or their party to gain people’s vote. On the campaign period, we see a lot of political party’s campaign on television. Analysis shows that 62.3% beginner voters frequently exposed by political party commercial on television, but not all of them watch the whole commercial. 40.8% of the respondent did not watch the whole commercial from start to end. Even though the PDI Perjuangan commercial was the most viewed and interesting, it doesn’t make it the most remembered and liked commercial. Gerindra’s commercial was the most remembered and liked by the viewers. It was because of the commercial presents a politician with high popularity, it was PrabowoSubianto. Even though beginner voters’ perception to political commercial is on positive state and the exposure intensity is high, it doesn’t make voters choose those political party. Abstract

ABSTRACT The increasingly competitive radio competition encourages D'OZ Radio Bali to make a new program to improving their benefits materially company. OZ BALIHOP (Bali Places Hang Out) then present and become the new program D'OZ Radio Bali. The purpose of this research is to know the strategy of planning the Bali Radio program on D'OZ OZ BALIHOP. This research uses the concept of the planning program that is part of the strategic management aspects of the programs broadcast by the SWOT analysis. This type of research is qualitative. Informants are chosen using a purposive technique. The data obtained through interviews. Data analysis techniques used are interactive models by Miles and Huberman. The results showed that the strategy of planning the Bali Radio program on D'OZ OZ BALIHOP is a strategy SO (Strengths – Opportunities) that is a strategy that maximizes the strength owned by exploiting the opportunities that exist. SO the strategy conducted by D'OZ Radio Bali is creating new program OZ BALIHOP with different broadcasting technique with other radio programs especially in Bali, understand the characteristics of their listener with some researches the new place with regard to the content of the broadcasts of OZ BALIHOP to expand the range of broadcast content that discusses about the culinary and lifestyle. Then give the space for listeners who do not listen to OZ BALIHOP OZ directly through the creation of special programs OZ BALIHOP instagram, and then after the program runs also conducted an evaluation regarding the response of listeners at a certain period to optimize the amount of listeners so that the purpose of this new programs OZ BALIHOP to getting listeners and materially benefit can also be achieved. Abstract

Benoa Bay Reclamation was emerging the pros and cons in the middle of Balinese life that bring out an action called Reclamation Refusal. It was a real form of society refusal to the huge project development that will be declared. Bog-Bog as one of the mass media in the form of caricature magazine; represented the phenomenon which already happened on its April 2016 edition. The purpose of this study is to determine the representation of the Benoa Bay Reclamation Refusal in caricature cover of Bog-Bog Bali Cartoon magazine on April 2016 edition. To achieve the aims, the research was conducted using semiotic analysis method proposed by Charles Sanders Peirce by qualitative research and constructivist paradigm. The result of this study was Bog-Bog Bali Cartoon magazine represented the reclamation refusal movement that based on Bali local genius concept called “Tri Hita Karana”. Parhyangan contained in caricatures of Balinese Women, Legong Dancers, pecalang caricature, Baris Dancers, and flute Players. Meanwhile, the Pawongan value was described on Made Bogler caricature and Traders caricature. Further, the Palemahan contained in, Excavator, water, Soil, Surfing Players, Sea Fish, , pigs and dogs caricature. Hence, Bog-Bog Bali Cartoon magazine demonstrates the caricature function as a medium of social criticism of ongoing government policy 51 since 2014 and Balinese people apprehension on the reclamation issues in Bali. Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research to determine the marketing communication strategy used by the LPD Desa Adat Kelan in maintaining customer loyalty. This reasearch uses a qualitative approach. The technique of determining informants in this study used a purposive technique. Data obtained through in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of this study indicate that the integrated marketing communication strategy carried out by the LPD Desa Adat Kelan in maintaining customer loyalty focuses on sales promotion and public relations. While the advertising elements, personal sales, direct marketing, and interactive marketing are more aimed at introducing everything about LPDs and products in it. The marketing communication strategy that has been carried out is not yet integrated, considering that not all the elements used have the same message consistency. Abstract

ABSTRACT The growth in communication technologies makes people can never abandoned it’s technologies that have been influenced their social behavior in the modern/ contemporary society can be seen in Tahilalats comic by Nurfadli Mursyid in digital comic LINE Webtoon application. \5The strip comics largely raised the story of humor full of satire, especially when people are began to be controlled by communication technology. The purpose of this research is to find the representation of technology dependence of the contemporary society in comic strop LINE Webtoon Tahilalats. The type of this research is qualitative, with constructivist paradigm. The primary data sources of this research are Tahilalats comic strips episode 465 (Trending), 215 (waras), and 224 (Berbagi), which are contained in the LINE Webtoon digital comic application. This research method is semiotic analysis of Charles Sander Peirce. The result of this research, found that from each of the drawing comic panels in the three episodes of Tahilalats comic, represents a modern society that cannot be separated from technology, which meets the three stages of indicator in Marshall McLuhan technology determinism theory. The three stages are; discovery in communication technology leads to a cultural change; changes in the types of communications ultimately shape human life; communication technology provides a message and shapes/ create our own behavior.
